Guest Reviews
- Steve (2/5): - Terrible place. Entire second floor has water damage and is unoccupied. Do not stay at this location.
- Ronn (6/5): Can’t make chicken salad out of chicken… - First of all I want to express my appreciation for the entire staff they were excellent. It’s hard to make chicken salad out of chicken $h!t. It’s obvious the owner has decided not to fix anything. Holes in ceilings, pool and hot tub out of order for months, exercise equipment broken, ice machine out of order, out dated furnishings.Thank goodness for the squared away “granny” at the desk getting a night comped. I grew up 3 blocks from the Gladstone and know what a gem it once was. A shout out to my classmate Darby making the restaurant run like a fine tuned machine. Whoever the owner is BE BETTER!!
- Ernest (8/5): - The place is well kept up. Pool was out of order however. In house restaurant, but it is closed on Sundays.
- Michael L (8/5): - This was my first stay at this property. My positive experience was certainly worth it. I would definitely stay here again.
- David (10/5): - Nothing special
- Christie (10/5): - Great staff!
- Verified traveler (4/5): It was a place to sleep - Listen, it was a place to sleep. It was mostly clean, had a nice fridge and working plumbing. Check in took a good amount of time as the lady didn't know how to work the credit card machine. Bedding is from the 80's. They only have front desk help short hours daily and no stayover cleanings. The bathroom show curtain smelled terribly of mold/mildew. The pool was green and half full. Something out of their control according to the sign at the front desk. Would not stay here again unless forced to
- Ronald (10/5): - Quite
- Kristine (6/5): - Great staff. Could use some updating.
- Dustin (4/5): - Pool closed for maintenance. When traveling with kids, the pool is almost the major deciding factor when picking a hotel. This should be communicated when booking.
- Susie (10/5): - Loved that it is right downtown. A1. Staff was very helpful
- Tad (2/5): - The front desk was closed
- Matt (4/5): Dirty room, uncomfortable beds - Room was dirty and run down. Found an empty cigarette pack on the floor, hair in the shower. Just overall dirty. Beds were uncomfortable and loud
- daniel (8/5): Retro but nice - Retro hotel with a cool bar and great staff. fyi, they do not accept payment online so you will have to pay when you get there.
- Alan (6/5): - The shower didn’t work and the WiFi didn’t work.
- Katrina (10/5): - Great experience
- Nancy (8/5): - Very clean and perfect for our stay with our dog.
Only problem was the little coffee machine did not work. I tried to alert the front desk to replace it but no one picked up the phone.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great pool and bar!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Jason (8/5): - Everything was good except people need to be aware this hotel does allow dogs in the rooms. Consider yourself warned
- Derek (4/5): Needs alot of updating - Hotel rooms are very outdated. Never any staff at the front desk
- Steven (10/5): Very nice hotel - We were pleasantly surprised by this property which was a bit off the interstate highway. It was very well maintained, the pool area was decorated nicely & the staff were very friendly. The Safari Suite was thoughtfully decorated. We will definitely stay at this hotel again!
- Michael (2/5): Terrible - Booked me into wrong room that I reserved, then had to move us around
- Dwaine (8/5): - The bathroom tissues need to be new and not used and the tv's need to be upgraded but overall we had a great time
- Karen (8/5): Duel in the Dirt weekend - The room was very clean and quiet. Beautiful place and room. The bathroom was a bit outdated and my heat bulb didn't work in the morning when I got up to shower. Very quiet and the staff were very welcoming.
- RBG (10/5): - Nice clean property. Theme rooms are well done. Restaurant has a great breakfast for a reasonable price.
- Nessa (8/5): - The overall experience was fine! A wedding reception was held on Saturday and the loudness was overwhelming! My suggestion is to book the wedding guest altogether on the same floor and those that are not part of the wedding be on a different floor! Other than the wedding guests being loud I enjoyed my stay!!
- RB (6/5): - The property was very out dated, the water from the shower and the sink was brown. The shower itself was cramped. The pillows were probably the highlight, they were the most comfortable pillows I’ve ever slept on!
- Robert (8/5): - Property is a little dated but was a good value. I was able to check in early and stayed in the themed Dakota Outdoors room which was nicely decorated. The hotel is in historic downtown Jamestown and close to several bars and restaurants.
- lorrie (10/5): Wonderful - I love staying at old vintage hotels. It was beautiful. Rooms were great and also the food
- Judy (10/5): - I had find a hotel at the last minute due to delays in my flights. This one was available. I was so happy with the service and the room. It was a wonderful way to end a very long, frustrating day.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Please plan better when there are events in town - Everything is slow. There was a state wrestling tournament at the event center, which is walking distance from the Gladstone. They were under staffed in both the bar and restaurant. My sons pancakes took over 45 minutes and he didn’t get to eat before his events started. The beds could also use an update, very uncomfortable.
- pam (10/5): Great place if you have kids - The employee was so nice and she saw we had a young child and gave us the marval room and he loved it
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great clean room! Even had a heater in the bathroom, which was nice! Great pool and activities for the whole family! Speedy and tasty room service. Will definitely stay there again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent Stay - It is a good hotel to stay at, I wouldn't mind staying there again. The beds however were obnoxiously squeaky, and uncomfortable. It was obvious that the beds in the room next to ours were against the same wall as our beds, which does not make sense to me in a hotel. It was very annoying listening to our neighbors, it sounded like they were in the room with us. One other thing I found irritating was the pool filling up with screaming children when it opened in the morning. I understand children wanting to swim early but they were all screaming as loud as they could before 8 AM which I thought was rude of the parents to not say anything to them since it was so early.
- DiAnne (10/5): Try it - Very unique.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Proximity to family is great since we are so far from home
- doug (8/5): - nice room and clean and quiet area parking next to exit good
- Josh (10/5): - Love the pool side access and the bar/restaurant! Will definitely stay here next time I’m in town!
- Craig (8/5): Good place to stay. - Halfway point on our trip. Got lucky picking Gladstone Inn to stay. Good value and nice rooms. Didn't use the pool or hot tub.
- Erin (6/5): Needs improvement - It was a nice stay for the night. The business center was lacking for services, like the printer didn’t work and I had to connect my cellphone to have WiFi that worked quickly. Our check in person was AMAZING but everyone else needs a new job since it is a service industry.
- Vivianne (8/5): - The beds were comfy and the room was clean. We had a poolside room, but the pool closes at a reasonable hour. The hotel is a few minutes from the highway, in a more historic section of town. It's nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room. It's a non-smoking hotel, so the side doors had a ring of smokers standing right outside - all very nice guys, who held the door for people with luggage. The pool slide is very short, as other reviews have noted, but in terms of comfort and cleanliness, I'd definitely stay here again.
- Gloria (10/5): - Very favorable!!
- A (8/5): - Great location in the middle of town and University.
- Annonymous (10/5): good for business - Door #4 (West side) was left unsecured all night. Room was clean, comfortable, but not 100% updated. No tea in the room, coffee maker was not functioning. Other than that, the room and staff were very nice!
Had a conference in the Hotel the next day, so it was convenient.
- Christine (10/5): - I stayed at Gladstone on a Sunday night in the middle of a snowstorm. I had the place to myself and enjoyed not sharing the hot tub. Loved the themes and the rooms. I had a suite and wish I had booked another night. Thank you, Gladstone.
- Kyle R (10/5): - The staff is awesome. Especially Lisa, she made us feel welcome. Location is ideal to the college & the onsite restaurant was good. Will stay there again.
- Jennie (10/5): - My room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff was super friendly and accommodating when I needed to stay an extra night.
- Big Silver (8/5): Nice hotel with city view!! - We had a very nice room on the north side of the hotel.
What a view of the city!! Good location downtown and nice lounge and pool area.
- Jed (8/5): Fun times! - Had a very nice room and the amenities were very nice as well. Comfortable lounge and wonderful pool area. Good location for downtown events.
- shane (8/5): They need work on there tv - It was a good hotel. Good food. The TVs need help.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Theme room well decorated. Bartender stayed open extre due to our late arrival. Overall - nice stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Reunion - Friendly staff and facilities. Nice pool with accessibility to the bar.
- Shawn (8/5): Lots of room for affordable price - The Gladstone is a little dated, and the mattresses are not first class, but our room was comfortable, large enough for a family of five, very affordable, and had easy access to the pool even though on the second floor. My kids thought it was great, and with all the space, we did too. (we were in the "Ocean View" suite, which cost less than $90.
