Guest Reviews
- Michael (7/5): Pleasant stay - Great view of the river No breakfast
- Israel (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was incredibly cozy and spotless, and the atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff kept everything tidy and welcoming throughout my visit. I’d happily stay here again.
- Donald, Sylvia (10/5): It was absolutely wonderful -
- Jean (10/5): -
- Morgan (10/5): -
- Daniel (7/5): good - Clean,resionaly priced, few resturants in vacainity...Dan
- Lisa (9/5): Jane and the younger gentleman were fantastic at the front desk. The housekeeper was kind and informative. - The outside and parking area were not very appealing however the staff and the room more than made up for it! Balcony overlooking the river, immaculately clean and updated room! Highly recommend. We will be back next year. Hidden Gem with close proximity to Maine Savings Amplitheater The outside was misleading. Needs a coat of paint and some yard/ parking area maintenance.
- Devarshi (10/5): -
- Daniel (4/5): Ok for the price. - The beds where clean and comfortable. The price was low. Parking was good. Floors were squeaky and bothered guest below us. Steps to upper level where steep and dangerous. No elevator.
- Mark (6/5): - Beds
- Katherine (10/5): -
- Markus (10/5): -
- Mitchell (10/5): - The staff was great. The place was clean and very cozy. I liked everything
- HERBERT (7/5): Was just okay , nothing out of the ordinary - Was very clean and quiet ,good location Was a bit pricey and the mattresses would need to be changed for new ones
- Katherine (9/5): -
- CINDY (5/5): - Vue sur la rivière Motel bruyant(route et voisins), pas de mouchoirs, 2 serviettes pour 3 personnes
- Terry (8/5): - The hotel was in a lovely spot with river view and a balcony for coffee in the morning. I especially loved the comfortable recliner for unwinding in front of TV. The place was homey. The staff friendly .Jayne the owner /manager was accommodating and helpful with recommendations for local shopping and food. Really enjoyable stay!
- Scott (10/5): - The room was lovely, and very affordable. Even in travel seasons like October. The couple who runs it are very sweet and the room had a very homey feel with a kitchenette and even clean mugs, dishes, silverware, and a teapot. You get a medium fridge, microwave, found a toaster, etc. it was a lifesaver when other lesser rated hotels were charging double the rate with less charm anyways
- Antonia (10/5): - We enjoyed staying at the Milford Motel on the River. It wasn't 5 star, but it's not rated a 5 star. It was clean, great price, good view of the river, and the staff were very friendly. We'd stay there again when back in the Bangor area.
- Gene (10/5): Nice place to stay at a great price! - The room was nice, clean, and comfortable. The woman at the reception desk—I don’t know if she was the owner, manager, or otherwise—was very nice and helpful. There was coffee in the room. We enjoyed our stay here.
- Valarie (10/5): - The Milford Inn on the River was such a delightful surprise. Our room was spacious, complete with a kitchen and a small balcony, which made it feel extra special. The beds were incredibly soft and comfortable, and I had one of the best night’s rests of my trip. Truly a hidden gem!
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Bonny (6/5): - AC unit put out cold air with strong mildew scent; room is very outdated but as clean as they can get it although there was mold in bathroom and dirt on fans left in the room; refrigerator leaked water internally and freezer section did not keep ice packs frozer- just chilled.
sheets were clean, of note. and front desk was very accomodating when needing to add an extra dog and unexpected child.
they allow for dogs but minimal safe space to take dogs for a walk beyond the space just behind or in front of motel. overall, they have done the best they can with the space but it didn't feel safe, clean or welcoming. and smells in the interior stair case were nauseating.
- Kim (5/5): It was okay - It’s on the river The first room they assigned us wasn’t fully cleaned.
So, they sent us to another room. The room didn’t smell great.
- Daniel (8/5): - Clean room, friendly staff, nice view
- Kevin (10/5): - Check in was easy and very pleasant staff. Room is clean and spacious and bed is comfy as well as the pillows. Would definitely stay again.
- ANN (9/5): -
- Ewa (8/5): - Rooms were very cosy , comfortable beds, balcony over the river, non smoking rules, kitchen was fully equiped almost like at home, design of the room with the personal touch. Welcome when we arrived.spacious bathroom.
- Richard (10/5): - It was very clean and quiet.
- Jeffrey (7/5): - N/A
- Mark (10/5): - Very nice place for the money, super close to restaurants and food
- Marjo (7/5): Prima locatie voor weinig geld - Ruime suite, goed bed Gehorigheid vanaf de bovenverdieping
Het hotel was ook sterk verouderd maar wel schoon
- Catherine (10/5): Quiet and clean. - This motel is lovely. Great location just outside of Bangor. Warm welcome and very clean room. Minutes from Bangor. Close to a great seafood restaurant and a good diner. Nothing.
- Cherie (10/5): Great little motel and excellent value - I have stayed here several times now and each time it has been excellent. The two bedroom suite we stayed in this trip looked fairly recently renovated and was equip with stainless steel appliances. NOT a fancy chain hotel but a ver clean and well kept Mom and Pop motel with lots of personal touches.
- Karen (10/5): - Lovely quiet motel. Very clean and comfortable with a nice kitchenette. A hidden gem just north of the Bangor area. We will certainly book again with them in the future.
- Diana (10/5): - Nice unit and very nice manager!
- Colin (10/5): - Older furniture but very clean for what it is. Would stay again.
- Betty-Jo (8/5): - It was quaint and retro - reminded me of my late Nanny’s house. So not updated or fancy but clean and well-supplied. We arrived late and the proprietor knocked on our door after we had been there a bit with a bag full of water, snacks, tea. A very thoughtful and kind gesture. It was muggy that day and there was one AC and a couple of fans so we were all comfortable. Would return without a second thought.
- JIANJUN (8/5): - Room is big and pricing is low. but The air conditioner is very noisy.
- Kayla (6/5): - The river view was beautiful, and the room was a comfortable size for our stay. However, we did notice that the cleanliness could be improved, particularly in the bathroom and kitchen areas. We were also given a "clean" towel that appeared to have a bloodstain, which was concerning. We hope these issues can be addressed, as the location and setting have a lot of potential.
- Maryann (8/5): - This is a true motel. It is an older property with older fixtures however it is clean, freshly painted, the beds seemed new, the kitchen in working order. This is a great choice for those who are heading out or returning from camping. One weekday morning was quite loud with workers leaving starting at 4am. This motel is a good value. PS the river is hidden behind trees and hedges, so don’t expect a panoramic view.
- Carol (8/5): - The staff were great, the room was clean, and the tiny kitchen space was a plus. View to river could have been cleaned up.
- April (8/5): Motel along the Way - Staff was very friendly. Not very nice and not enough towels. Reminded me a bit of the motels I used to stay in with my parents when I was small. But, as mentioned before, the staff was very nice,
- Viktor (10/5): - Professionnal staff
- Lavigne (10/5): -
- Nancie (10/5): -
- Saroeun (10/5): - We rented two double bed room, came with a two range st
- Douglas (10/5): - We were able to get a great sleep there!
- Bradford (10/5): - Great area. Near very charming towns. The proprietors were very friendly. Respectful. Knowledgeable about the area. I would definitely stay there again
- Christelle (8/5): Authentique et pratique. - Accueil très sympathique. Bel environnement. Un motel à la décoration simple et vintage mais chambre bien équipée. Parking un peu anarchique.
- Coolen (5/5): Passable -
- Barbara (10/5): Peaceful comfort - Great room with small kitchen. Nicely decorated. Beautiful night sleep with windows open and breeze.
- Jo-Anne (10/5): Friendly and comfortable - The owner/manager was lovely and helpful. My room was large and the bed very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with a fridge/freezer, stove, etc. There are areas that could be improved, but expected for a motel-type accommodation.
- David (8/5): Good value property, clean and well equipped. - Reasonably priced. Parked outside room. Good A/C with fly screens too. Free upgrade in room. Noisy road nearby. View from balcony over the river was obscured by overgrown ivy riddled trees.
- Ranjini (10/5): Acadia National Park Trip - We had an amazing stay. The front lady was super informative about the place and upgraded our room without asking. The room was cleaned everyday and all our questions was answered with kindness. We loved our stay - with the river view ofcourse. Thanks for the lovely experience.
- Margaret (8/5): Great choice for a traditional motel. - It was a good location for our trip. We appreciated being able to park very close to our room. Having a balcony view on the second floor of the river was a plus. We had everything we needed in the room. One of the two queen beds was a quite saggy mattress. Other than that, we were quite comfortable.
- Grady (10/5): - Nice people, nice stay.
- Lisa (10/5): - This was the cutest mom and pop motel. It was clean and safe and had a cute little balcony. Yes, it is outdated but they have made it work for sure. It felt like a motel on old Route 66. Updating would ruin its charm so instead the embraced it.
- steve (10/5): - Nice place to stay we liked it
- Ryan (2/5): - TV from next door blaring at 12am!!
- Jessie (9/5): Helpful hosts and reasonable priced - Quiet and very clean
- Amanda (10/5): Quiet clean weekend stay - Management was very pleasant to work with we had one issue that they came and fixed immediately with the TV the hotel itself is very clean quiet area right off the street it's a little outdated but comfortable and had everything that we needed
- Qian (10/5): - The stay at Milford Motel is quite pleasant. The motel is family friendly, quiet, and clean, and the owner, a nice lady, is very attentive, informative and friendly. The view of river is a plus and there are great restaurants and places of interest nearby.
- Allan (10/5): - …
- Kim (9/5): Lovely place by the river - Location and host! Everything was great. The only comment is they need more working outlets
- steve (10/5): - They were very nice to us...
- Elena (7/5): Good -
- Marietta (10/5): Exceptional - It was quiet, clean and so adorable!
- Kevin (10/5): - Clean room; comfortable; spacious
- Ronald (10/5): - Very quiet and reasonable
- Leslie (10/5): - Plenty of room. Nice water pressure in the shower. Very nice little kitchen.
- Guillermo (10/5): - The place was confortable for the five of us, staff was friendly and ready to help us.
- Leslie (8/5): - This was a perfect stop for us and our dogs on the way to Nova Scotia for the summer. The owners are a delight. The price is very reasonable, the set-up for making a simple meal is fine. It's very basic but if that's what you and your dogs ($10 per dog) need, it can't be beat. And makes a great stopover on the way to New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and the other islands up that way.
- Vanessa (7/5): Good - Nice spot on river. Recommended Wifi not the best
- Elvis (8/5): Very good -
- James (10/5): Very glad and appreciative to have stayed here.⁸ - Excellent, efficient, friendly staff, location, property maintenance & cleanliness.
- Rayhill (10/5): Exceptional - very clean
- Catherine (7/5): Satisfied for visiting the area, - Staff were wonderful, accommodating. The Room was nice. Clean and provided kitchen items for basic cooking. Comfortable furniture. Nice bathtub with an easy-to-use shower. Very quiet at night. Close to a grocery store and not far from downtown Orono/Old Town.
- Margaret (10/5): - Water
- annemariecQ1033AD (10/5): We will miss this place!! - We will miss this motel! For the four years our daughter attended U Maine this was our go to place to stay. Yes it is old. But it is SPOTLESS, freshly painted with nice sheets and updated bedspreads. The big sells are the river view from 2nd floor rooms little balcony and the kitchenettes.
It is NOT fancy, it is just clean, comfortable affordable and friendly!
- Colleen (10/5): Exceptional - Jane is an amazing host. The rooms are exceptional! It's like having a mini apartment away from home.
- Cherie (8/5): Friendly, comfy, and convenient to UMaine - It’s a very cute, old fashioned but well maintained and very comfortable motel. My husband and I have each stayed there twice now while loading or unloading our son from UMaine and enjoyed our stays. The couple that runs the motel is very friendly, caring and helpful. The bedding is good quality. Small touches like a couple bottles of water, kitchenettes and coffee makers are helpful and appreciated. Honestly there’s nothing bad to say. It’s not a five star hotel and doesn’t pretend to be. The hair dryer in the room didn’t work and the water temp in the shower was hard to regulate. It is homey not luxury but we like it.
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional - My family and I have been staying here since August of 2024, it’s awesome both the suite and the regular room!
- Pamela (6/5): Enjoyable due to the basic room- the quirks of poor prep and length of time to check in were negs - Convenient location. Rooms were eclectically decorated which I loved. The beds were comfortable and the addition of a full fridge and oven top AND microwave were great. Wonderful view out of the back windows to the river below. Asked for a handicap supported room and was notified online that request was honored. Ours wa not a handicapped room. The heat in the room was not turned on- it was 52 degrees when we entered after 4 hours in a driving rain storm and being damp and cold. There were no tissues to be found in the room - used toilet paper. The windows should be cleaned to accentuate the view from the room. Lots of clicking thumping knocking noise from the heat that would keep some light sleepers awake.
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional - The location
- Zachary (10/5): - As always our stay was perfect. We use the Milford Motel on the River because its super convenient for us. Its close to our inlaws and close to town.
When we had to cancel our last trip the Motel called me to make sure everything was okay, and that nothing major happened.
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): great -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Great location to the University of Maine. Beautiful spot right on the river and next to some great restaurants in Old Town. There was a slight problem with our heat when we first arrived, but the owners were on the problem within minutes and fixed everything. They were very helpful and prompt.
- 692taja (10/5): Great service, cleanliness, and location! - Stayed over Thanksgiving holidays—clean rooms, new appliances, and great people! It snowed during our trip, and we saw the manager/owner personally go and shovel around our car unprompted. Can't beat that sort of service (and view of snow falling on the river was beautiful, too)!
- Vanessa (7/5): Good -
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional -

- Martha (7/5): Good -

- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leanne (10/5): Love this property - This was an amazing time here, I stayed two days with my dog! The owner was really friendly and kind. This motel is a little Gem in Milford only 1 hour and 20 mins from Bar Harbor. It’s cute, safe and comfortable! Every room was unique. They are like apartments and would definitely stay again!
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
