Guest Reviews
- Eric (6/5): Needs some TLC - Convenient location just off the highway There are some maintenance issues that should be addressed here. A door in the pool room with a broken hinge. Loose tiles around the spa have been replaced with whatever they could press into the opening. Our room microwave and alarm clock looked to be 40 years old.

- Gabriela (7/5): -
- Audrey (8/5): - Great room. Very comfortable. No maid service the whole stay. Trash kept piling up. No fresh towels. Very rarely ever saw hotel staff. Needed coffee maker in room. And a spare blanket for the couch would have been nice.
- Troy (10/5): -
- Michelle (3/5): - It’s was dirty
And the pool and hot tub were out of order Stafford, Maine pool hot tub didn’t work and it was dirty and just to have waffles for breakfast and make it a complementary meal is stupid
- Jeffrey (8/5): It was a great value. I would stay there again. - The property lived up to the other ratings. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and the location was great. Half way between Fargo ND and the Twin Cities it was a great place to stop on my way home. Great value!
- Jessica (4/5): -
- Thomas (6/5): - The shower head needs to be able to adjust down more.
- Corey (8/5): Clean, quiet, well maintained hotel. The owners are to be commended! - The owner is heavily involved in day to day operations. They were attentive, kind, and handled what could have been a tough situation very well The property was great. We were impressed.
- Brittany (6/5): Pool heater was broken and breakfast was poor. - Location is right off the interstate. We were not told upon check in that the pool heater was broken. (Only a note on the pool door) Went to take our girls swimming the next morning and the water was freezing. The breakfast was a bare minimum with all the bananas being brown, yogurt was frozen, and bagels were rock hard. The choices for cereal and muffins were not your average choices so the kids wouldn't eat anything. The room was also poorly cleaned. Wrappers and candy left from previous guests.
- Lois (8/5): -
- kimberly (6/5): decent - very nice rooms breakfast was ok the pool and hot tub were out of service which was one thing i was looking forward to
- Kyle (10/5): -
- labarre (5/5): Ok - Nice beds Pool hot tub closed
- Johnson (5/5): We were disappointed - Quiet . Clean room. Booked this motel specifically to use the pool. When we arrived, we were told the pool and hot tub were not available. The heater for the water was not working. Wish I had been informed of this in time to cancel. (Before arriving)
- Vanderheiden (9/5): - The room is always clean. The proximity to St. John's is very helpful for me. The breakfast was ok nothing to brag about. The food isn't very hot and the hard boiled eggs were REALLY rubbery!
The coffee is nasty!
The refrigerator in 116 freezes the food.
- Diana (9/5): - Great beds
- Teri (5/5): - Room was clean. Check in easy. No one was at front deck half the time. Pool towels were always gone, hot tub didn't work, breakfast was a joke. Only biscuits and gravy and waffles. No fruit, eggs or meat. No one refilled gravy so scrapping pan at 8am. Vending machine wasn't working, daughter TV was broke and just said ya we had complaints about that. Well go buy a new TV.
- Mark (10/5): - Amazing waffles
- Tara (10/5): - Pet friendly but the potty area was terrible-
Not much grass - more dirt.
Breakfast was disappointing- no scrambled eggs or bacon or sausage- no juice options or yogurt.
- Kyle (7/5): -
- Mark (10/5): - Great
- Keyanna (10/5): - hot tub is warm
- Randy (10/5): - This clean and comfortable motel is fantastic! They have a very nice indoor pool, a wonderful hot tub, and it is walkable to downtown and other amenities. The rooms are fine and ours had a brand new bathroom, including a shower with wonderful water pressure, always important for us after a day of bike riding. The motel is very close to the lake wobegone trail and you can literally ride about 2 minutes from the motel and be on the trail. They even have a good continental breakfast.
This will be our go to motel when we're in the vicinity of Albany!
- Caroline (8/5): - The carpet in room was ripped up near the door. The furniture is very outdated. They have done some improvements since the last time I was here.bathrooms were updated with new lighted mirrors, soap dispensers in shower. The continental breakfast still doesn’t have many options. Very, very basic choices. OJ tasted bad, like maybe old. Hotel is clean, just very dated.
- Catherine (10/5): - Super nice staff. Very accommodating and friendly.
- Adam (10/5): - Breakfast is good, comfy beds and a nice pool area
- Lewis (9/5): -
- Kathy (9/5): A good stay at a reasonable price. - As usual, the check in staff was exceptional. I also appreciate the available TV channels. Everything was fine. There's nothing to complain about.
- Michael (10/5): - Only thing was 1 person was working and there were other people walking in.
- Cameron (10/5): - Clean, easy access, friendly staff, nice breakfast, definitely recommended.
- Jerry (10/5): Pleasantly surprised and excellent - It was fine.
- Deborah (8/5): Good stay. - We came for the bike trail. Liked being able to ride our bikes right to the Waba gun trail. Breakfast was OK nothing to write home about. Went to get some popcorn out of the vending machine and it wasn’t working. The girl said it had been like that for a couple days. The room and the bathroom was clean and I liked having the assortment of shampoo and bath wash, but the plumbing was very noisy.
- Randy (8/5): -
- Diana (9/5): -
- Matthew (4/5): - Although maybe one of the better hotels in the area, as there aren't many to choose from, the hotel ended up being disappointing. From the moment we checked in, the TV didn't work. After going to the front desk, that issue was solved, however, the remote control never did work right. You could change the channel up, but not down. You could get the volume to go down, but never seemed to go up. The remote was taped together. But I didn't stay there to watch TV. The big issue was the last night we stayed there, a group came in, yelling, drinking in the hallways after midnight for over 45 minutes, and was very loud to the point we had to get involved to get them to stop. The staff did nothing to quiet them down, even tho there is no way they couldn't hear them as the front desk is open to the second floor (there is no elevator...only steps). I was prepared to complain at the front desk upon check out...but the guy never even looked up or asked how my stay was...just asked if I wanted a reciept....which made my stay even worse. I would not stay there again.
- Jacquelyn (8/5): - Everything was awesome except the tub would fill up during a shower and slow to drain.
- Lynne (10/5): - I would go back
- Brian (6/5): - The rooms definitely needed an update.
- Trunk (10/5): Here again - It's always clean and staff are friendly
- Kaye (8/5): -
- Zack (10/5): Great spot in a nice small town. - Our best hotel stay of the summer! Will definitely return, staff was amazing!
- Zack (6/5): -
- Jeanne (10/5): - Room was very nice. Sometimes the staff was absent. Especially at checkout. I had questions but couldn’t get any response to ringing the bell. Had to wait quite awhile.
We stayed for three nights and had the same selection every morning. Biscuits and gravy and waffles. Very limited.
- Wendy (8/5): - Comfortable and clean A little outdated, but nice
- Steve (8/5): - Very clean and presentable. Beautiful lobby. Breakfast was sparse. Instant coffee machine.
- Lucinda (6/5): - Breakfast was mediocre at best. Our room was not very clean
- Delaine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marilyn Fischbein (8/5): - Very good for this area.
- Kayla (9/5): Superb -
- Dawn (10/5): Easy, Refreshing Overnight Stay - Easy overnight stay that refreshed us on a long trip. Free Breakfast was good - hot and cold options. We really enjoyed The Mill coffeehouse just across the street.
- Eileen (10/5): - This stay by far exceeded my expectations. The pool area is really nice, the hotel overall was very clean, and our room was immaculate. I will stay there again! The people working were very nice and the owners are on site and very nice as well.
- Jason (10/5): - Very clean
- REX (8/5): - Respectable staff obviously interested in providing a quality experience. Best option in the area by far.
- Suzan (8/5): Good stop on the road. - The hotel was nice and clean. The bed were comfortable. I'd definitely stay again.
- David (10/5): - Great owner and place to stay
- Tori (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (10/5): - liked wi-fi, room condition, terrific location with regard to access to recreational bike trails, i.e. Lake Wobegon Bike Trail.
- Darcie (6/5): - Room was really dark. No lighting. Like we were in a speakeasy. Also no coffee maker in the room, no cups, and no bath mat so we had to use a towel. That last one is not a huge deal. Probably wont stay here again.
- Jeremiah (10/5): - The staff was really nice I got food from a restaurant and forgot to get silver ware so the staff told me to take some from the breakfast kitchen even it was late in the evening.
I also really like the swimming pool, the water was warm compared to other hotel that I stayed recently.
I would highly recommend this place ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- Magdalena (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfy and quiet. Pool was perfect! Breakfast had waffles yogurt cereal bagels and toast. The halls and main lobby very hot no ac on.
- Karen (10/5): - Very clean little hotel. I travel a lot and can say this was one of the most beautiful pools and hot tubs anywhere I have been. The temperature in the pool area was nice and warm, and the pool itself was not too cold, and the area was very clean. Hard for a hotel to keep a pool just right.
The room was very clean and it was quiet.
If I lived in the Twin Cities, I would definitely use this hotel as a getaway for a weekend, just to use the pool!
Additionally, although I'm not a golfer, there is a very well manicure golf course about two blocks away. I don't know if it's public or private, but it's lovely!
- Dave (10/5): - Always stay there when I am driving West
- Richard (10/5): - nice and clean, really good employees
- Gretchen (10/5): - Great place, very clean.
- Stephen (10/5): - We were there to bike the Lake Wobegon Trail for a couple days. It was easy access to the trail, about a block away. Room was very clean. Staff was pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was good. Enjoyed our stay.
- richardhJ7667KY (8/5): OK place to stay - The room and window fan were nice and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and yielded a very restful night. There is no elevator, so be sure to request first floor if you can't do stairs. The breakfast was below average for a Wyndham property, but the price was reasonable.
- Richard (10/5): - Great place. Friendly staff
- Rita (10/5): - Nice. Friendly front desk staff
- Jill (10/5): - The hot tub was not working very well and was missing at least one tile, could probably use alittle work. We really like this hotel location and convenience. Staff was great.
- Deleon (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel staff was very friendly. However, the room I stayed in must not have been used in a long time. It was extremely dusty. The bayhroom was dusty as well and hair was in the shower. The beds were also not made all the way around the bottom. Sheets were clean though :) Breakfast was very lack-luster. Very few options.
- Kim (2/5): - They have no record of my reservation. They are nice about it, but not happy with Expedia
- William (10/5): - Very comfortable and clean. Pool and hot tub were great after long day driving. Breakfast was light but enough to get us going in the morning
- Eric (9/5): Superb - Was there for a marathon, and they had the buffet out before the scheduled time to accommodate the runners staying there. Really appreciated this.
- Kenneth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kayla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jenny (8/5): Comfortable and Convenient Location -
- Vanderheiden (9/5): Superb - I don't eat the breakfast. I bring my own. The conditioner bottle in the shower was really goopy and the toilet looked like it was still dirty from the previous visitor.
- Penny (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet and clean
- Katelen (4/5): Accommodating staff - This may be mixture of the site's issue and communication in general but I was surprised to find after booking a pet friendly room that my two cats could cost me up to 500 as only dogs are allowed at this location. While I am grateful for the staff's willingness to accommodate me and inform me of potential charges, the state of the room was also quite bad. I realize pet friendly rooms tend to be a little less well maintained but the carpet had a spot that was torn up and there were food stains on the carpet in multiple spots. This was a stop in longer drive so I was just looking for a safe and clean place to sleep. I would not recommend this location to a pet parents.
- Arthur (10/5): Exceptional - Extra nice lobby. Great little town.
- Tracy (8/5): - Bed was comfortable. Got a great rate. Breakfast was so so.
- Sharon (10/5): - The bathroom lighting is great.
- Kate (10/5): - After hours stuck in traffic in Indianapolis and Minneapolis, we were ready for a relaxing evening. The minute I walked in the door here, I knew this was the right choice. At check in, Kathryn was very welcoming, professional, and kind. Our room was quiet and clean. Breakfast and the hot tub were nice amenities. We will be back!
- Kristi (4/5): - At check in we weren't spoken to at all. I handed my ID and card over and they did work then handed me back my information and room key. Didn't tell us what time breakfast was at, pool location or times - nothing. Morning came and showers were ice cold even after trying to let run for a number of minutes in the event it was a recirculating line of some sort. Bathroom light flickered like crazy so we just left it off and used phone lights. Tried to touch base with the front desk 3x to no avail. Breakfast was practically empty with only bagels, toast and waffles remaining at 8am (closes apparently at 9am) - juices were completely watered down. No hot cocoa or tea for non-coffee drinkers. No fruit or yogurt or eggs or other options for people who can't have the breads in the morning or at all depending on diet. Beds were clean and comfortable but that's about the only positive. For having spent nearly $200 for the night -- it was rather disappointing to have only one positive.
- Richard (10/5): - Wonderful staff. They went above and beyond to help with reservation and with future reservations. This property has been remodeled since my last visit.
- Vanderheiden (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maggie (8/5): - Room was facing the highway and you could hear all the traffic throught the night. Besides that the stay was nice.
- Goertz (10/5): Exceptional - Location is right off freeway. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was definitely friendly at check in. Bagels at breakfast on was hard
- Michael (8/5): - Would have given 5 stars, but stayed at end of hotel wing, and because of that, no hot water would get to my room for at least 10 to 15 minutes of continuous water run. Would definitely stay again !!!
- Branden (10/5): - Nice quiet stay. Nice pool and hot tub. Easy walk to A&W and Subway.
- Mary (10/5): We booked for a get away for a birthday get together. It was a great experience for us all. Would definitely book again - The staff was wonderful. The cleanliness was amazing. Beds very comfortable. Breakfast was great!
- William (2/5): Avoid this place and the unpleasant staff - I’ve stayed at this location several times before, was a decent place to stay but theyhave some new staff that are very unpleasant to deal with, you better not make a mistake by accidentally booking the wrong week like I did or they’ll treat you like you’re the scum of the land. I mistakenly selected on hotels.com Wednesday the 12th instead of the 19th and I had no idea I made a mistake until the hotel charged my card the evening of the 12th so I called the hotel immediately and the man that answered the phone was quite rude and refused to help so I called the next morning and spoke to the office manager named Katherine and explained my situation and first she told me the man from the night before was new and has already received multiple complaints prior to this incident, she offered to either refund me or told me I could use those funds for type night I needed (wed 19th) so today I call to make sure everything is good and the msn that answered the phone that you could barely understand with a heavy Indian accent told me Katherine wasn’t there and he wasn’t going to do anything for me they I missed my reservation last week and that I would have to pay again if I wanted to stay there m. Greed is obvious at this location and have no sympathy or care for an innocent mistake, the owner of this location appears to rather lose repeat business than make things right for a one off mistake.
- Susan (8/5): - Since it was so close to the highway it was a bit noisy.
- Mary (10/5): We stay here. - This is our go to motel when we are in the St. Cloud area. Easy to get to. Friendly and helpful personnel. Eco-friendly and economic.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
