Guest Reviews
- Stephen (10/5): - Perfect as always
- Alison (10/5): - Lovely stay, great staff
- Joey (10/5): One night in Cheshunt - It’s an amazing setting and the buildings are super ,all the staff are so kind and genuine and friendly especially Mick who was on at night shift a beautiful person doing a wonderful job .we loved our stay and will be back
- Ruth (10/5): - Lovely country location by the river. Easily accessible via bicycle.
- Suzi (10/5): - Had an enjoyable stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): All-around excellent place to stay - Friendly staff, great location for access to London, and for some reason I have the best sleep here. I'll always come back!
- Jack (10/5): A great and affordable stay - We was greeted by lovely staff who talked us though some information that we needed to know and was given our keys. The room was nice for the price and had a bathroom in the private room which was good. The beds were small but still comfy and the room was cleaned well. Had an issue with our room lock not working but it was smoothly dealt with as soon as reported and we were given another room. Drink prices were cheap and has a lovely nature walk just next to the hostel which was lovely. There is a shop just down the road and the station is very close to the venue. There is also a nice little pub down the road which was nice to visit. A very friendly area with some great views. Would highly recommend!
- Shigala (10/5): - This destination is such a great choice for a holiday! We initially planned a 3-day trip, but the calm and peaceful atmosphere was so wonderful that we decided to extend our stay.
- david (10/5): Great value - Great value near enough to London and Stansted airport
- Lance (8/5): - Spacious, clean room with good facilities including kitchenette and washing machine. Staff friendly.
- William (6/5): good clean hostel - just needed a room to stay pretty last minute with my son who had a rugby tournament. we had a room with 2 bunks because that was the only thing available. its cheap and cheerful. its close to the train station if you need to access London
- Jenny (10/5): - Plenty food options
- Neal (4/5): - Staff were freindly and extremely helpful. Room was basic but comfortable. Experience was tainted by an occupent upstairs who proceeded to bang on his floor for some time. I contacted reception to complain and the noise did seem to subside after and staff cant be held to account for guests behaviour. Nonetheless, it did spoil my experience and is reflected in this review.
- Verified traveler (10/5): I need shower gel and shampoo... - I need shower gel and shampoo...
- Susan (10/5): Great little gem of a place - Lovely location. Very handy to walk to restaurants but has facilities to cook if you want. Clean and comfy rooms. Stayed her with a colleague who had never stayed in a youth hostel before. She loved it.
- tatsuya (6/5): Tim - I was allocated a big loft type of room on 1st floor. Due to poor ventilation even late at night and all thru the night it was so warm and hot and could not sleep well. The only one window cannot be opened fully.
The room needs to be air conditioned or need a better ventilation system.
- Sarah (10/5): - Friendly staff, nice clean cotton sheets, the shower was lovely and powerful. Absolute bargain £55
- Tim (10/5): - Lovely - excellent location for transport and local activities.
- Megan (2/5): - Horrible.
- Georgina (10/5): - We stayed over only one night, because we was going to a surprise 60th birthday. which was just over the road at the red cow. Location, accommodation, facilities, breakfast, price was great. Definitely would stay over again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Like: location. darkness at night. value. staff. coffee.
Dislike: parking to many cars. No wifi in rooms and wifi poor in reception . accommodation kitchens are very good but once you get a family in there the room disappears.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice arrea. Clean Room and check in staff were great. All Good
- tatsuya (8/5): - Everything was perfect. You can save a lot of money as you can cook (actually I only mictoawve foods) at the nice dining kichen. Only the downside is a ventilation fan in the room was a bit noisy and that woke me up a few times at night. It is only a matter of lucky or unlucky to have a soring room mate or not. I had a guy unfortunatly on the day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property is like staying in a rural location in the middle of nowhere and yet you are 3 minutes from a main train station to London and beyond. The room was clean, duvet and pillows great and the bed was comfy. Staff in reception were super nice I loved it!
- mary (6/5): - The staff were friendly .The main building seemed nice ,clean and updated. The location was great within a country park and only a couple of minutes walk to the station. The beds were clean and comfortable.
However, our room was in a seperate cabin. The furnishings were grubby and marked and the shower was very badly water stained ,with smeared marks behind the door and needed attention .
Uncovered food was left in the com6unal fridge. The beds were very clean and comfortable.
- Hilary Anne (10/5): Simply Perfect ! - It was amazing! I was going to two interviews in London. After 10 yr break. Everyone and everything was PERFECT. Loved it what a wonderful friendly place.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - all good thank you, lovely location, solidly built hostels, good staff.
- Charles (10/5): Great place to stay - Was a great find fantastic welcome by yha staff could not do enough to make you feel welcome
Handy for the trains to London as cheshunt station is only a couple of minutes away
Also cheshunt only a short walk away had everything you need supermarket take sways and a couple of pubs
Lodge is a really cool building and has great facilities
Had a very good cooked breakfast there was really good and fresh with good quality ingredients set me up for the day
Bedroom was large and spacious in the way it was set up also was ensuite with a separate toilet and shower room that made it feel massive
I very much enjoyed my stay
- Graham (8/5): - Basic but good value for money. Staff very good and good breakfast. No wifi and weak phone signal
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Needed a room for one night- was great value for the price!
- Andrea (10/5): Well done YHA! - Stayed here for one night as we were going to a funeral in Epping Forest. We have stayed in youth hostels before, though not often, and this was definitely one of the best. Lovely friendly staff, great location and good parking. Would definitely consider returning, either to discover more of Epping Forest or trips into London. We can't say a great deal about the local area as we arrived late and left promptly but the YHA grounds and buildings were very attractive.
- Judy (8/5): Quiet location - Close to friends I was visiting. I liked the lodges, but the stairs were difficult as I use crutches and doors were heavy! Otherwise good facilities.
- Matthew (8/5): great hostel and wonderful surroundings nr london - Great hostel in lovely surroundings with v close proximity to london.
- Jacqui (8/5): Would stay again. - Great YHA, comfy beds as standard, very clean, the only thing that could have improved our stay would have been the menu options being available. They'd had a very busy weekend and were out of the popular options. Not really anyone's fault. The staff were lovely too.
- Thomas (10/5): Would happily stay again - Friendly staff. Very comfortable bed. Each bunk bed had its own lamp, socket and little shelf which is great. Super location, right by the park and the train station.
Not much parking, although there may be more I didn't see for when it fills up, it was quiet when I was there. No WiFi in the room but WiFi in the reception area was good.
- Stephen (10/5): Spot on - YHA Lee Valley is a great place - couple of minutes walk to Cheshunt Station which goes direct to Liverpool Street. Good walks around the Lee Valley Lakes! Place itself is great - options of bunk room bed or sole use room.
- Zacky (8/5): difficult to find slow check in - it took a long time for anyone to come to the reception for us to check in and there was no way to contact them and the hotel itself is difficult to locate down a dark street with no lights. definitely try to check in during daylight. in our room and lodge there were So Many Spiders!! it really needs a good clearout of them. unfortunately there isnt very good signal in the lodges but in the reception there is free wifi
- Trace (8/5): Just what I needed - Chose this hostel last minute because it was only half an hour away from Stansted airport. Staff were lovely, room was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Exactly what I needed. Just expect to wait a while at the level crossing!
- Wing Co Chris (10/5): Very Useful Budget Accom - I had an excellent stopover here, en route elsewhere Peaceful setting, but with good road & rail links. Competitive pricing, spacious & comfortable twin room, and the fully equipped kitchen in my lodge was a real bonus (even though staying just the one night). Would certainly use the place again.
- Jen (8/5): Nice country location near London and countryside - Very basic but convenient location for visiting family
- brian (8/5): Great Stay - Excellent stay - welcoming staff, good food, clean and comfortable rooms and only a couple of minutes walk to Cheshunt Rail Station for London or Cambridge
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Really friendly and lay back staff.
