• Darren (8/5): Exactly what we needed. - The location is stunning. Staff are great and helpful. There was work going on outside that meant the outside space wasn’t as relaxing as it might have been. We had been warned about it though.

• ningoos (9/5): - Simple room in Beautiful scenery and very friendly staff. Unfortunately on the night we stayed at all the rooms were booked and we had to stay beside a group. They came in late and made lots of noise. Hopefully this improves their night time sound policy.

• Mihaela (8/5): Great place despite walk to hostel - Beautiful place, very comfy and full kitchen available to use. The room was comfortable and had an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom was absolutely freezing! Also, while I appreciated the view, the location was a bit challenging to get to without a car. After getting off the bus from Windermere, there was a 20 minute uphill walk to get to the hostel. The walk is very nice and scenic but can feel a bit long after a full day of visiting. Great place otherwise!

• Fiona (9/5): Quiet and comfortable room overlooking carpark - Quiet and comfortable stay and undisturbed sleep during my stay (weekdays). Lots of natural light in my room from multiple windows. Functional room with power points next to the bed. Effective heater. Functional self catering kitchen. Carpark always had spots (during the week, can’t speak for weekends). Friendly staff. Might be difficult to get to if you have luggage and don’t have a car. Kind of annoying that the doors don’t have handles. Wifi is really bad.

• Guest (9/5): This place holds a special charm, offering a breathtaking view of the lake that truly uplifts the spirit. - The location was brilliant. It would be great if the water under the shower could be a bit warmer!
• Billy (7/5): - Good location, friendly and welcoming staff. Drying room was not fit for purpose. There was no heating on in the drying room and gear was soaking. The hostel was very noisy after ten, it was the back of eleven before things settled down.

• Anonymous (2/5): - Very cost-effective Warning to friends who don't drive, it takes more than 20 minutes to walk uphill from the bus stop to the hostel. It's difficult, the Wi-Fi doesn't work at all, and the shower water is not hot.

• Benjamin Bunny (10/5): - The grounds and building were exceptional! The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the other guests who I got to meet whilst there were also friendly and welcoming. Was able to get to Windermere Town either by walking or also by bus, very convenient bus stops in either direction, to Ambleside next to the petrol station and to Windermere just a little further down on the opposite side near The Sun Hotel. This is my first stay at a YHA, and even though I am not really a share a dorm kind of guy, it was OK. I may next time choose a different style of stay as the tipies, cabins and retro caravans seem more idealic to me! Thank you to all whom made my short stay a really really beautiful experience. Not a lot to dislike.

• Shih (9/5): 整體上是個很棒的地方，在英國的觀光勝地可以有這麼便宜的價錢真的很划算，但真的建議體力要好一點，因為這裡的位置真的不太妙，公車也比想像中的不方便，哈哈哈哈。 - 整體上我覺得這間很不錯，視野非常好，房間也很舒服，棉被也很讚，我睡得很好，總共來了3天2夜，每天都早出晚歸，晚上睡眠品質都很好。不過我很建議要帶降噪耳機之類的，因為像我住的時候室友打呼非常大聲，但因為我有戴降躁耳機所以幾乎沒有受到影響（但如果我沒帶的話我應該會發瘋）。 可以先去寄放行李，但會很累，因為真的有點遠。當時下午去時reception還沒有營業，我在外面座位找到服務生，但他們好像稍微有點沒有耐心（畢竟不是上班時間？我猜）。不過後來晚上的櫃台人員就非常親切，我的英文聽力其實不太好，但那位女士非常有耐心地放慢速度，並且這兩天晚上我去向他們借吹風機時，他們都非常非常親切，很感謝他們。（BTW 吹風機只能借到10點，因為他們的櫃台只服務到10點，不過不用錢） 我是住6人女生房，浴室超級大，也非常乾淨，完全沒有味道。走廊上有很多間共用的廁所浴室，如果房間有人用，也可以去走廊的共用衛浴，而且也非常乾淨。 然後我都是用自己的網路，所以不知道這裡的Wifi好不好，但我自己的網路收訊是還不錯。 真的太遠啦，雖然地圖上看起來離車站不遠，山下也有公車站，但如果你的行李稍微多一點，就會爬山爬到累死（我第一天真的爬到差點往生）。不過路途上的風景真的非常漂亮，只是建議要有心理準備。 此外，第一天我去了Bowness，去的時候一直等不到公車，甚至公車延誤半小時，我在公車站發呆了快一小時（那裏有兩個公車站牌，一個近一個稍遠，但會經過的公車不同，有點複雜）。之後玩到大概6點多，結果不知道為什麼居然都沒有公車了，下一班要等到9點多，不然就要搭兩班轉車，但我那天本來只打算兩個點來回，所以沒買日票，但這裡的公車車費又不便宜。 最後抱著散步看風景的心情走回去，但玩了一天真的太累了，中途有曾想過放棄搭公車，但中途反而因為路線不同搭不到車了，這讓我第一天真的累到崩潰。（但好險路途風景真的很美，剛好我來的時間8點多才會天黑，所以慢慢走兩小時回去問題也不大） 後來兩天去比較遠的地方（Keswick、Glamere），我就很小心看公車了，後面的體驗就非常好，加上這次是帶行李下山，所以很輕鬆。但如果是背很重的背包上來，可能會很痛苦（我是拉行李箱上來，所以還好）。 最後就是，置物櫃本身是沒有鎖的，如果有帶比較貴重的東西，記得要自己帶鎖頭，置物櫃是可以自己帶鎖上鎖的那種。 然後晚上還是蠻吵得（？大概9-10點外面都還是很多人在吵鬧，但因為我戴耳機所以是覺得還好，但就是沒有想像中的那麼寧靜。

• Sophie (9/5): - Die Unterkunft hat allerlei Spiele, einen unglaublichen Blick zum verweilen und liegt sehr ruhig und der Preis ist für Lake District unschlagbar - zur info: wenn man kein auto hat ist es ungefähr 20 min (bergauf) zu Fuß von der nächsten Bushaltestelle entfernt, von der windermere zugstation 50 min. Die verschiedenen Herde waren teilweise schwierig zu bedienen und man muss des öfteren schauen welche Pfanne funktioniert und welche nicht.

• Kelly (10/5): Wonderful hostel perfect location - The location is wonderul! Beautiful views, and very peaceful. If you don't have a car its a long walk up the hill from Windermere. I had everything I needed for a relaxied stay. Obviously this is a hostel so you can't account for other noisy guests, however there is a policy to meep the noise down between 11pm and 7am. Breakfast looked good although I brought my own. The guest kitchen is quite small but is well equipped. Evening meals looked nice, but again I'd brought my own. There are three small car parks and all were pretty much full, but guests still managed to park. The camp site is in a lovely field not far from the main building. I stayed in a shared female dorm.

The room was spacious and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. There were enough showers and toilets all around which were very clean too. The kitchen was very well resourced and enough sitting area. We were very impressed by this hostel.

• Rocio (7/5): Basic and economic option close to Windermere - The view from the garden was beautiful, the room was clean. We almost lost our reservation since the motorway was closed. I wish the reception had a late check in option. The toilets and the common area were not very pleasant, but OK for one night

• Choo (10/5): One of the best hostel I have ever stayed at. - The staffs are friendly and will be there to help you most of the time. The bed is clean and comfortable (better than most of the hostels I have ever stayed at). Even though the location is far from the nearest bus station (20-25 mins walk), the scenery is beautiful and breathtaking (good spot to see sunset as well). There are many shower rooms and toilets, with that we don’t need to wait. The kitchen has kitchen utensils which we can use to cook for free. Most importantly, the price is super low if compared to other accommodations in the UK. Everything is good, will stay again if I go to Windermere again! The heater will not function properly sometimes, but still not a big problem for us.

• Cheryl (8/5): - Nice communal area, beautiful location. Mived to an airstream instead of a dorm room and liked that much better. Nice choice of drinks, snacks and a decent men for evening meal & breakfast. The dorm room was dull and needed a little updating doors, decor etc. But obviously value for money as it is a hostel. The camping & cabins options were better for us .
