Guest Reviews
- Amy (10/5): - Very clean Nothing
- Jayne (6/5): We won't be staying there again. - Cleanliness Pool was not open and that was the main reason we booked. Breakfast area was a small dark room and food was not very good.
- Erica (5/5): Decent hotel, but not enough parking - Location and staff were great. Not enough parking
- Tina (10/5): - The staff was friendly, and the room was very nice
- David (10/5): -
- Jean (10/5): Friendly staff and great location. - Location The noise from the heater.
- Kayla (9/5): - Nice room with a jacuzzi tub Pillows were bricks
- Brent (10/5): Enjoyable - Close to trails
- pattymurra (8/5): Great stay - Downtown with easy access to snowmobile trail. Rooms are clean and spacious. The pool and hot tub are great and well maintained. I’ve been here for years and the only thing that’s declined is the breakfast. The potatoes were great but aren’t on the menu anymore. No sausage or other meat at breakfast either. They ran out of bananas by 9 AM. The breakfast room staff is constantly cleaning up after you and keeping it immaculate. That is a huge bonus of this hotel compared to others.
- Jean (10/5): Great price and location! - We liked our room and the location of the hotel.
- Wendy (9/5): -
- STACEY (9/5): We would return - Amy checked us in later in the evening and we had exceptional service. She was extremely caring for another traveler who was having a bad day.
- Marianna (10/5): - Clean and quiet, breakfast had good options for all ages Parking on Thursday evening was touch had to park in back
- Metta (8/5): -
- Muhammad (10/5): -
- Brooke (8/5): - Location was amazing. Just a short 3 min walk to the ferry. The breakfast could’ve been better. But overall it was decent.
- Nichola (10/5): - Excellent Room very clean
- Dustin (5/5): -
- DEANNA (7/5): I would stay again hoping some updates are done before I come back next year. - The location is perfect!! We had an awesome view from our 2nd floor room. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean! The breakfast wasn't what I am use to getting at hotels. Usually there are hot items to choose from like eggs, bacon, sausage or biscuits & gravy. Bagels & Mufifns are good for a quick on the go meal, because it was so hot in that little room we had to leave. There was juice to choose from but the cranberry was empty & there were no cups. The air conditioner in our room didn't work very well. Thankfully we had the patio door to leave open for a breeze. I think a few updates would be very helpful. New carpet for the entire hotel.
- Deborah (5/5): Felt like a cheap motel. Wouldn't stay again nor recommend. - Having 2 rooms, 2 queen beds and a fold out couch. Room was dirty. Bathroom had garbage on floor and hair in the tub. Fold out couch mattress had hard pieces of food on it. The same garbage (pizza boxes) were in the hallway for two days. Bathroom fan was extremely loud.
- Gerard (6/5): - Breakfast was fair/good. It was very loud at 6:30 am when a family was leaving the lot with their trailers.
- Patrick (9/5): -
- Teri (10/5): -
- Heather (7/5): Met my needs. Good for the price. - Decent breakfast and warm pool area. Room floors and furniture could have been cleaned better. There were cumbs on the stairway for a few days.
- Nicolette (8/5): - Breakfast was a bit difficult as I am gluten free and I only had one option
- Dwight (6/5): -
- Cheryl (9/5): Very clean, comfortable, and convenient. - I had stayed here previously. It was very clean and very convenient for my stay as far as location. Was really busy, and didn't really spend a lot of time at the hotel, other than to sleep.
- Greg (9/5): -
- Kyaw (8/5): -
- Jason (10/5): - Large room. Good value for the money
- James (9/5): -
- Emily (10/5): -
- Nicole (6/5): It has changed from what it used to be. Needs to be updated - The location Dirty and older.
- Wohletz (6/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): great stay, staff was friendly. would definitely stay again - breakfast was good. speedy check in and out room had a lot of road noise.
- Goetz (7/5): The lady at the front, I think her name was Amy. She was the most pleasant person, I have ever ran into at a hotel. - I like it had two rooms. We’re nice to our puppies. I didn’t like the way, that block the pool from hot tub. But it’s an old building so I see why it was like that.
- Mark (10/5): We will stay again - Host was awesome on check in Room was great beds were comfortable large room
- Brian (7/5): Less than expected. - Location Very noisy heating unit.
Men may not appreciate a toilet seat that does not stay up unless held.
- Katherine (8/5): A great hotel! - The staff and room were great! The location was perfect for catching the ferry to Mackinac Island. The breakfast was also good. The bed and pillows were very hard. That's the only downside of my stay.
- Jugala (2/5): No lock in the bathroom door - No lock in the bathroom door No lock in the bathroom door
- Marshall (10/5): -
- Crusan (9/5): -
- Marianna (10/5): - Clean and quiet Parking was hard on the Thursday when I was there but Sunday when I got there that was a better day for finding parking
- David (10/5): -
- Shelley (7/5): Needed some updating but was good for a quick trip - Dog friendly, location The door to our room didn’t close well so we had to make sure we pulled it shut.
- Rita (8/5): Was ok not much time in the room - Clean/fresh No freezer in fridge
- Joshua (4/5): - Friendly staff. Broken hair dryer, broken wall sockets, broken ice machine on second floor, broken water fountain and air conditioner in fitness room. Arcade / vending machines that eat quarters and will leave you with a screaming child.
- Lisa (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, reasonably priced room right in St Ignace. Very friendly staff member at check in.
- Tiffany (7/5): -
- W3344QWstevew (10/5): Comfortable, affordable and convenient - Very clean and up-to-date furniture and appliances. Comfortable bed. Handy electronics charging station. Responsive WiFi. Easy parking. Convenient location. Friendly owners. Sets back from the main road and traffic is light after 9:00 pm. We would definitely return.
- Goran (10/5): - ...
- Lois (8/5): Watch out for "bumps" - Bedside lamps Parking lot needs some fixing
- Mobile51128668269 (6/5): Great location - The price for this hotel was ok. We didn’t use the pool. The breakfast was ok not great. No fruit. There were 3 rooms in our area. One private bedroom, one with the toilet and shower, and one bigger room with another bed, a couch,a refrigerator and double vanity. It was across from the ferry which is so convenient if you are going to the island. It could use some updating
- Yvonne (6/5): - Place was clean and easy to find. Our room's air conditioning was very noisy and the bed wasnt the most comfortable. Good si,e bathroom, but small shower.
- Rebecca (10/5): Anniversary getaway - Staff was excellent and friendly, we had some trouble with our key cards and the desk attendant was super patient and helpful in getting us into our room. We had a wondeful view of the water. We will be saving this location for future visits.
- Adam (8/5): -
- KRAIG (4/5): - Carpet nasty. Staff not very helpful.
- Timothy (6/5): - Location was excellent right across the street from the ferry service
Breakfast was so-so
A front and back door to the room! Room was very small
- Mark (10/5): - Very nice and everyone is friendly
- Sandra (10/5): - We have stayed here before and everything is always great. The room is always clean with everything we need. Staff is very attentive if you need anything.
- Janice (10/5): -
- Owen (10/5): -
- kaur (10/5): -
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very Clean and Comfortable - The hotel older but the rooms were very clean and smelled good. We brought our puppy Gelato (4) and it was so easy to take her outside to do her business. We stayed after the Labor Day holiday so it was very quiet. The hotel is a short walk to Shepley's ferry ride to Machinac Island. We didn't get to use the pool because we were super lazy but it looked very clean and sanitized. Price was very reasonable and we would definitely stay there again.
- Michael (10/5): Great time in St Ignace - Great experience and if we go back to St Ignace, we will be staying at the Budget Host Inn. Staff was friendly, hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, pool was nice, proximity to Sheplers was great, and overall loved the stay.
- Ryan (10/5): - Parking is tough when you arrive late on a holiday weekend. Other than that, no issues. Great place to stay
- Howard (10/5): - It was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.
- Luz Alondra (9/5): -
- Elayne Jeter (9/5): -
- Erick (10/5): - Great staff! Awesome stay super close to the ferry!
- Mary (8/5): - Nice Motel. Room was clean. Parking was a little difficult with a truck but overall nice Motel.
- Debbie978 (10/5): Great place to stay. Clean and comfortable. - Need to share more about this place after seeing the latest review. It’s clean, quaint and close to everything.
The pool and hot tub area are just fine. Very clean. They had rain issues which caused an abundance of moisture in the pool area, but have gotten those addressed. The rusty pics someone else posted are true pics but they don’t define the pool. The hotel has addressed that rust after the rain, and will be doing so again. But there are no issues with the pool and I attach pics.
As far as food, they offer a continental breakfast from 7-10 am each day. Make your own waffles, bagels and cream cheese, muffins, prepackaged boiled eggs, cereal and milk. Several juice types and coffee and hot chocolate.
There is a nice game room for kids.
Dog friendly place.
King size bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Huge shower-head. Water is hot! Small dorm size fridge, storage closet. Room is ample so using the drawers instead of living out of the suitcase gives you a little more leg room. Sheets were soft. Very comfortable stay. Staff and manager are very responsive and friendly.
View of Lake Huron across the street. It’s a decent place to stay. Small businesses like this can’t afford bad reviews so after seeing the last guys review, I had to post more information. We would definitely stay here again.
- Kellie (10/5): - Host was very informative
- SUSAN (10/5): - Great place to stay if your going over to the island. Great pool and hot tub. Nice balconies to sit out in the morning and evenings.
- Amy (10/5): -
- Rayan (10/5): - The staff at this hotel are so nice welcoming and friendly
- Annette (8/5): Due to the breakfast, probably will not stay there again. But otherwise the property is fine. - Clean The breakfast was underwhelming.
- Robert (8/5): - Room was acceptable and in walking distance to Sheplers ferry
- David (8/5): Great Location - The hotel was nice and clean and loved that it was within walking distance to the docks to board a boat to Mackinac Island!
- Kevin (8/5): - Nice quiet hotel right across the street from Shepler’s Ferry and walking distance to several dining options. The hotel was clean and staff helpful and friendly. It seemed like the AC in the halls was out and there were a few small maintenance issues noticeable, but overall a great choice for a short stay.
- Erin (6/5): - The carpet was pretty stained and dirty. The bathtub had mildew/mold. Everything else was fine
- Deborah (8/5): just ok in the UP - very friendly but to be honest it could use some updating.
Bed are comfortable, breakfast was fine,in room amenities are just ok. Easy internet, good location and parking.
- Ruby (8/5): - The only thing i didnt like was the bed. Very hard. Rough on the back and side sleepers.
- John (10/5): Upper peninsula good starting point. - Our first stop on our trip. Good location, clean, priced for season, would stay here again.
- Lana (3/5): Would not recommend. - The staff was nice. I paid $240.00 for a balcony room and got a closet instead!!! The room was definitely not what I paid for!!! The room was very small and I had a tiny window and that was the only window!!!
- Kelly (8/5): -
- Sarah (6/5): - It was fine. Couldn’t check in until 4pm which seemed pretty late. Game room had no air conditioning and felt like a literal sauna. Cobwebs on the staircase, just overall not impressed. The pool was nice, also had continental breakfast which was good.
- Deborah (8/5): - Wonderful staff. Convenient location. Dated rooms but they are clean and reasonably priced.
- John (10/5): - The staff was great, very friendly. Older hotel, but very clean and breakfast was good. Great location with the ferry to Mackinac Island right across the street. I would highly recommend.
- BelleStemie (2/5): eww! Never again. - This hotel is showing some serious lack of maintenance. Some of the air conditioners vented to the hallways making it loud and as hot as a sauna in the hall. Extra furniture also stores in hallway. Lots of dead bugs or burnt out light bulbs in the fixtures in the hallway. Lots of rust and an odd smell (not typical pool chemicals) in the pool area along with a shop vac in the middle of the floor that looked like some just left it there instead of putting it away (fyi there all three days we stayed). Garbage, shingles, and windows around the grounds. Build door locks that didn’t work so in reality anyone could let themselves into the building. Breakfast was very minimal and partially frozen still. Rooms slightly better but still not clean and I don’t consider myself usually picky. See pictures included.
- Derrick (10/5): - Great location and helpful staff
- Carolynn A (6/5): It is definitely budget - Mattress needs replacing .No maid service or clean towels unless you request them . I did request but didn’t get it anyway.😑
- ANTHONY (10/5): - For the price this hotel is clean and quiet. It’s also an easy walk to the ferry and downtown area. We had a very small issue with our room, Carrie the manager took care of it by moving us to a new room without hesitation. We are grateful for that and would not hesitate to stay here again.
- Emily (10/5): - Cozy vibe, great price, spacious room.
- Jadranka (10/5): - Very pleasant stay
- Robert (10/5): - Very clean and very Nice it was convenient to every thing especially the ferry to Mackinac Island.
- Maryann (9/5): Superb -
- Erika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erika (10/5): Exceptional - It was very roomy and clean.
- Yuqin (10/5): - We found our flush handle was broken in the first assigned room, it was late at night. Jennifer on duty was very kind and she promoted the service by offering another nice room. Thank you Jennifer, wish you good luck in your life.
