Guest Reviews

- Casimir (6/5): The Rommanee Classic Guesthouse a un excellent emplacement.

- Helen (4/5): Meh. - Location. Only 1 key given and air con doesn't work without it. 1 person went out at night and the room's temperature soared while the other tried to sleep with no way to fix.
- Prateik (8/5): -
- Mike (7/5): - Die Rösterei im gleichen Gebäude
- Alice (8/5): - Good location. Easy self check in. Property were hard to contact but did send us a message initially on how to check in.
The street noise.
- steve (9/5): A charming place with a great location at a fair price. - Breakfast wasn’t included. Very central location in old town.
The young people downstairs were very helpful in giving me various tourist type advice. Not having to walk up to the third floor.

- Caner (8/5): Backpacker Hostel - Zentrale Lage. Für 1 Max 2 Nächte ok.
Hostel. Eher was für Backpacker.

- Kirsten (10/5): - Great price for the location. Clean and comfortable. Best for people who like a firm mattress.

- Jayne (10/5): Comfortable and convenient - It was very convenient to the Main Street in Old Town and the staff were friendly and comfortable. We didn’t realise that our rooms would be on the top floor so it did make it a little hard for my mother in law to get up and down as she has a bad hip, but apart from that it was a great stay.
- Mirko (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chong (6/5): - Everything is good the only thing is no place to hang the towels and only 2 hangers in the room. No slippers, no bathrobe and no toothbrush.
- Joerg (8/5): A nice little Hotel right in Phuket Old Town - A nice little Hotel right in Phuket Old Town. Very friendly and helpful staff. I got help with getting the suitcase up to the room as there is no lift. A bit more romantic than newly renovated, what I liked. Very clean. Nice wooden floors. I did not miss english programs on TV, I get them in the next hotel. In the basement there is a nice coffeeshop, they roast by there own and the coffee tastes great. If your schedule allows, be there on a sunday evening as there is a nice street market with great atmosphere right in front of the hotel.
- Elaine (8/5): Perfect place for an overnight stay in Phuket old town. - Fabulous location in Phuket Old Town. 5 min walk from the bus station. Its an old building so has beautiful wooden stairs (no shoes, please) but no lift. We checked in at the coffee shop downstairs. And access is via the closed shop in the evenings. Struggled a little with the key card when coming back on the evening, but managed. Great view from the front rooms, but the hotel is at a busy junction so expect some noise. Perfect for 1 or 2 nights stay. And great value. No breakfast but lots of options in Phuket. The beds were extraordinarily firm!
- Arsalan (1/5): not that clean alot of mosquitoes WC is not good - there is alot of mosquitoes in the room
- Emily (6/5): Good location, but quite noisy - I only stayed one night. The room had everything I needed and was reasonably priced. Unfortunately, it was difficult to communicate with the hotel. I sent a message through the app about an issue and never got a response. You have to go through a coffee shop to get to the hotel and it was unclear if the staff worked for the hotel or the coffee shop. Also, my room overlooked a bar and the music was very loud until about 1:00 a.m. I had to use a white noise app and ear plugs to sleep.
- Riddhi (7/5): Good - Lovely little boutique hotel, close to everything in old town. Good choice for a solo traveller. The staff were very indifferent. They were not rude but they weren't welcoming either.
In Thailand usually people are very friendly and welcoming, so the behaviour of the staff felt unusual.
- Jane (1/5): Bad - Location central NO BREAKFAST despite saying it was provided. We were told a sachet of instant coffee in the room counted as breakfast..
New owners. The coffee shop lets you in, but the staff leave at 6 so no one around
Very unhelpful staff with no interest in who is staying
- Sally (7/5): Good -
- Catherine (8/5): we really like staying 2 nights in the old town, and the guesthouse was a good base to explore it. - great, great location, and good value for the price! it’s also funny to enter through the coffee shop(which has excellent coffee) to your « home » :) more a note - there’s another hotel with a similar name close, just make sure you give the good address to your taxi driver !
- Jacqui (4/5): Disappointing -
- Anthony (8/5): Very good -
- Gilles (2/5): An experience we will quickly forget! - The place in the old town (but I guess there are other better places in old town) Given the state of our 'de luxe' room, I prefer not to imagine what a regular room is! Doesn't reach Thai standards by far for cleanliness (dust, spots in the room, failing electric network), service ( by the way, no breakfast included despite information on booking dot com). Having lived many years in Thailand, we're used to thai hospitality standards and can compare with places by the same price in other touristic places. These one would be ranked in my low 10)
- PAOLA (10/5): - It was such a lovely place, very well located, the staff was absolutely amazing and friendly, they helped us storing our bags until the evening before our night trip to Bangkok, the coffee is delicious!!!
- Paniti (6/5): Value for money, Average stay - - the location
- the building - no reception. Need to contact an owner in case of emergency
- Bathroom can be improved
- Only stairs so difficult for those who have a bigger luggage
- Renie (5/5): its decent really, but i just needed a lot of comfort. 😬 - The location and it was as clean as it could be. My aircon did not work and room was very stuffy. I tried the backpack life but I cant. I stayed at a different hotel. But it is decent! dont get me wrong. I just needed more.
- Lailachosita (7/5): Good -
- Verified traveler (6/5): It's just OK - Needs some basic maintanance, especially in the bathroom / shower. Had some minor issues with water pressure. Great location though.
- Lisa (10/5): - The guesthouse was easy to find and there were a lot of shops/ restaurants nearby. Staff at the reception even helped to get our tickets printed. Nothing bad to say actually as we really enjoyed our stay. The location is quite far from all the major attractions like Patong Beach and the nightlife is quite slow. If that's no problem for you, then this place is perfect. Overall, would really recommend this place. Definitely coming back here if we return to Phuket.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Superb Stay for the Budget.
- bernadette (10/5): The Rommanee Classic Guesthouse, is Classic! - Extremely cute hotel. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating staff. They helped us set up easy and affordable taxis to different tourist destinations! In the most picturesque part of Phuket! Many shops and restaurants right out the front door of the hotel!
- Aew (10/5): -
- Philip (8/5): Nice room but too much street noise. - I needed to stay in Old Town overnight. It is an interesting area with lots of new restaurants, bars and guesthouses opening up. The second floor room was nice, clean and comfortable. However, the noise from motorcycles racing by under our window all night made it impossible to sleep for more than 10-15 minutes. Maybe if you stay on the thirds floor with a room in the back the noise level would be better.
- Sari (8/5): Great location - Great location, perfect place for 1 or two nights stay. Very good restaurant almost opposite (Kopitian or something like that, highly recommended!!). The traffic is quite noisy for all night so earplugs needed for light sleepers. Clean and simple everything!
- Arash (6/5): Decent boutique spot with one massive shortcoming - Given the good reviews and the seemingly-hip neighborhood, I booked the Romannee Classic for a few nights. The room was relatively basic but nice enough, and the staff was friendly and eager to help. I was pleased enough with the first impression... until nightfall.
All through the night, there are motorbikes *ripping* down the street, I mean just throttle cranked, middle finger (assumedly) waving at all the buildings they pass. I guess the Romannee is a restored old building so noise insulation wasn't a priority; it even has double paned windows, but that didn't do much of anything to dampen the sound, and I was awoken all night by the passing vehicles. I can't exactly blame the hotel for this, but it did make for a rather unpleasant stay.
Other than that, everything was fine. But the lack of proper sound insulation makes me wish I had stayed elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice hotel. The neighbouring was a bit disappointing.
- Bente (10/5): Perfekt Boutique Hotel - Perfekt beliggende lille hotel i Old Town i Phuket.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed for 2 nights and liked this place a lot :)
Very convenient situated, friendly staff and nice, spacious and clean rooms.
We'd surely come back!
