- Maria (10/5): A wonderful stay, we enjoyed everything and would like to come back! A perfect place to come with family or friends. - The staff were truly wonderful, so accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was simple but delicious! And the whole setting was just gorgeous.
- Ogulcan (9/5): - This was one of the most beautiful places we've stayed. The rooms are very comfortable, well-maintained, and clean. Breakfast is served in a beautiful garden surrounded by greenery. The garden is very well-maintained, cosy and full of fruit trees. Easy access to close beached and very good tavernas around. The two lovely ladies who run it are very friendly, sincere, and helpful. They have their own parking lot. We thank them for making this holiday so wonderful for us. It's a very relaxing environment in terms of quiet, peacefulness, and nature however, unfortunately, the 1.5-year-old baby in the room next to us woke up very early in the morning, and we could hear all their noises from 7 in onwards. For this reason, going with a small child/baby to a three-room place designed for peace and quiet should be reconsidered.

- Justin (9/5): Awesome place to get out of the hustle and bustle! - Beautiful property with only the 3 rooms/units. Pool area is awesome. Facilities were great. Breakfast was lovely. Location is great, about a 15 minute walk from the nearest village. It takes a bit longer if you want to drive to a beach or to a bigger town.

The place was quiet and well decorated keeping its traditional character. It used to be an old olive mill. The village close by has a lot of great choices for home cooked food and wandering the beautiful tiny streets.

- Glebs (9/5): Stunning place - We very liked the cozy town, where the hotel is situated. We had the biggest room in the hotel, so it seems like our own cozy cottage in Greek style. Big balcony with the rooftop and Mountain View. Two bathrooms, everything very clean and comfortable. Great stuff, delicious pancakes with chocolate sauce in the morning, comfy and stylish pool area (better than in the photos). Everything was absolutely perfect. Do not want to leave:)

- Ioannis (9/5): It is an experience. - There are places you go because you want to rest and sleep. There are few places that can inspire you and where you want to spend more time. This is such a place. The arrangement, the serenity, the decoration, the architecture, and the garden, work all smoothly and you just somehow dive in, you are transported. It is a strange feeling, and I am sure it will not work for everyone, but somehow we were enchanted.

- Levin (10/5): Very quickly felt like a home away from home - We stayed at Villa Athermigo for our first 4 nights on Crete (after flying into Chania) and couldn‘t have been happier with our choice. Set in an old olive mill, the place feels very calm and private (only 3 rooms, beautiful garden and pool) and yet manages to create a nice sense of community. The staff was great — special shoutout to Chrisa who served breakfast every morning with a vibrant energy, smiles and good tips for the surroundings.

- Nicola (6/5): Pleasant - Gorgeous setting and near an amazing taverns called Monica’s Our room wasn’t suitable for a 3 year old - with gaps in the railing on the mezzanine that he could fall through. Lots of hair in the sink and under the bed. As per other reviews the breakfast wasn’t great. The only fruit was apples one day and I’m not sure you can describe porridge oats, packet ham and sliced cheese as a ‘local delicacy’. Also sliced bread when there is a bakery down the road. Just a little bit more care and this place could be great - local jam, homemade granola and info in the local area would all make such a difference.

- Rhianydd (10/5): Glorious place to treat yourself to a luxurious stay - The villa and grounds are sensational, and the room had retained some parts of the original olive oil press, which added to the unique nature of the building. The staff were absolutely lovely and very attentive. Did everything they could for me while I was staying there. Helped arrange a wine tasting at a local winery and even park my car when I was not confident to do so in the narrower street. No notes.

Incredible views of the surrounding hills & olive groves, and the pool was so refreshing after long days exploring the island. Chania is a short 40 minute drive, and Samaria Gorge & Elafonisi Beach are just under 2 hours away. We hope to come back someday, we loved staying here.

This stay reminded me that it is worth a deep dive into accommodations when there are a large number of options because gems like this get pushed down because of algorithmic functions on booking sites. I do not want you to read this review. i do not want you to post your own. I want everyone to forget about this place so I can save it for myself. If you read this and you are looking to stay in an amazing location centrally located in the Vamos area then rent a car and stay here. 20 minutes to everywhere except Falasarna beach, which is worth the drive. If you are traveling with two other couples book the whole place it will be that much more magical. Words do not to it justice

Pool is beautiful, garden is well looked after and lots of shade. The toilets were open plan. Air conditioning is not strong enough for the size of the room. Vasilis and Antwnia greeted us every morning with smiles and friendly conversation and they could not have been better hosts. They made sure we were comfortable and taken care of in every aspect; recommending places to visit, writing down names of authentic Tavernas and sights with less Tourists, so that we could get the most out of our stay in Crete. The Villa itself was so beautiful and peaceful; surrounded by nature and the best of Greek wildlife. Within 10 minutes, you can walk into Gavalochori Village for delicious food in authentic, local restaurants. This is the first place we have stayed in where we felt like we couldn't wait to return, even before we had left. We can't thank Vasilis and Antwnia enough for their hospitality and kindness. This place is a little slice of heaven! Having to leave. We wanted to stay here forever!

Great fresh, home-cooked breakfasts every morning and any requests were accommodated. Facilities (sun loungers and room fittings etc) are very nice and high spec. Really enjoyed the location being a 15min walk to the nearby village where there are several great tavernas and amenities shops.
