Guest Reviews
- Kevin (4/5): - Booked for 5 days asked on tuesday if i could cancel friday and was told i needed 3 full days notice for a refund and that was only 2.5 days notice so i ended paying for an extra day for no reason the tv was terrible it skipped so bad that you couldn’t watch more than 1 minute without the show freezing and it was only setup for local cable the smell in the room was ridiculous and smelled like smoke one of the pillow cases had mascara stains luckily i brought my own pillow and the shower stays running the whole time so my wife couldnt run a bath we could only take showers but the only soap provided was facial soap and there was definitely no breakfast provided i would only recommend you to atay if you cant find ANYTHING ELSE the nightly rate is the same as the howard johnson down the road so just go there at least the smell and tv will work and when u cancel in advance u will get ur money back
- Demarcus (2/5): - Went in 2 room one had stains from the box spring to the walls other had bugs.
- Eduardo (10/5): - Katty was great at front desk
- Andy (2/5): - Check in was quick except we booked a room for two beds and the guy said that the system only showed that the booking was for one room. We get to our room and it's very hot and the ac took a while to kick in and only cooled down our room by the morning. The shower was barely working and the bathtub was a little dirty. The sheets my daughter was sleeping on also had stains on it. The TV also didn't have any channels except the very few free live TV stuff when you buy a Roku. The blow dryer was also broken and not working. The so called included free breakfast was also non existent basically, we get to the lobby which was a little weird and the guy wasn't even awake so we had to wait for him to get up and actually do something. There was barely any few options and barely any coffee and for the amount you are paying for is not worth it. When we came back to our room we got locked out of it because the door handle randomly broke and it took the owner a bit of time to get us back in. The area itself isn't horrible, but I would not recommend staying here and I would go somewhere else.
- William (6/5): - Re conditions
- Tina B (10/5): - Very clean, nice bed and pillows, friendly staff.
- Chris (6/5): - Bed ok. Pillows lousy. Hot water but showerhead poor. Room #120 if memory serves. In room coffee a blessing. Reasonably efficient window heater unit. Zero table lamps - only ceiling mounted lights. Tv ok. Furnishings next trip is to curb. Towels ok. Price good so...
- Christie (10/5): - Wonderful
- JOSEPH (4/5): - The smoke alarm was beeping low battery all night. Bathroom and tub were falling apart. No coffee in room. Not one thing for breakfast. No coffee in pot when I went to find breakfast which didn't exist. When I checked in didn't forget to charge me extra for small dog. I was having trouble finding the hotel even when using WAZE so I called the front office for directions and got no answer or voice mail.`
I was on the road for more than 14 hours because of bad weather all day. I was trying to reach this hotel because of the NO REFUND policy otherwise I would have stopped somewhere else earlier. Not to my surprise the no cancel policy is in effect because I would have showed up and observed this place and left to find another hotel. They know this would happen regularly at this place.
- Queen Medusa (2/5): - Insects observed; disgusting property & owners. Avoid at all costs.. literally.
- Nathan (2/5): - Left early no refund
- Melody (10/5): - Very nice staff. The outside appearance could use some work because it makes you misjudge the building. The building is actually nice & the rooms are clean & cozy. I enjoyed my stay
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My stay was actually pleasant. When I first arrived the outside appearance didn't look that welcoming but my room was nice & clean. Very nice staff. No complaints
- Verified traveler (2/5): Hotel Hell - The room smelled like stinky perfume, the bed was hard as a rock, the pillows flat, holes in the bed spread. The table was not the right height to use with chairs. The noise from the room above was banging and slamming. It seemed like being at low rent housing and it was evident that entire familys were in some rooms. the continental breakfast was lousy. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
- Michael (4/5): - Nothing
- Hannah (2/5): - This place was awful. The room was boiling hot when I went in, it smelled like smoke even though it was non-smoking, and they have BED BUGS!
- Karen (8/5): Clean, Cheap, and Convenient - It isn't the Ritz, but, it IS clean, bug free, takes dogs, and has a continental breakfast. It also offers long-term accommodations. The Staff is phenomenal! VERY responsive. We were concerned about safety in the tub/shower and they immediately gave us a tub mat and came with a drill to install a grab bar for us. We stayed in Room 134. It is close to a busy road, but they have super insulated drapes that block that noise almost completely. They also have security cameras onsite. Their location has quick and easy access to the National Fair grounds, highways, and several decent restaurants, as well as several fast-food places.
The current owners have not been there very long and so they are still upgrading the rooms and the curb appeal. Our room had a VERY nice sized NEW refrigerator and freezer and a New dual flush toilet.
- Christopher (4/5): - the staff was not nice at all
- K (2/5): Inn - The hotel was horrible and needs to be shut down . The rooms are worth no more than $20 if that!! Dirty rags and towels, the floor is falling in, carpet smells, table was broke, etc. it’s horrible!!
- Alvin (6/5): - Ice machine not working. Wet towels in bathroom when we checked in
- michael (8/5): Good for no-frills business travel. - I often stay here anytime I am vending at Perry Fairgrounds. It is a no-frill hotel. Older hotel with older furnishings but for the price and closeness to Fairgrounds (1 mile roughly) you cannot beat it for business. It is not a family vacation hotel. Did not see any signs of bed bugs or roaches either. Would stay but for business purposes only.
- Greg (10/5): - They were great.
- Gordon (6/5): - It’s a comfortable enough place to sleep. There were no bugs and no weird odors.
But I have a few complaints - one of the outlets by the bed did not work and the other was so old that my plug would not stay inserted. I can charge my phone across the room, but I did need to use my CPAP machine so I had to get creative. The floor in the bathroom moved under my feet and the wallpaper has been painted so much it is coming off the walls on its own. There was toilet paper, but no Kleenex. I could not hear neighboring guests unless they were outdoors. The air conditioner cooled just okay and clicked on and off loudly throughout the night.
- Londya (8/5): - Never again
- Analisa (6/5): - I understand they are remodeling so I will show some grace in that. But our room smelled very musty when we checked in on Friday night and when we returned Saturday afternoon.
The toilet paper should be individually wrapped for cleanliness vs bought in bulk and left on the toilet or just handed to buy the manger. The remote for the TV had no legible buttons, as in all the writing was gone.
- Larry (10/5): - It was close event we attended
- Demetrius (6/5): - Ok but it a small town
- Joshua (4/5): - Never stayed because none of my messages were answered and the area was interesting to say the least. The fact that no messages were answered says enough. Will not be trying to stay here again.
- Caitlin (6/5): - Poor maintainability
- Judy (10/5): - The owner has done a beautiful job of updating the Inn. My room has been completely done over, and was very comfortable. And SOOO CLOSE TO THE DOG SHOW!
- Douglas (8/5): Basic place to stay - Nice basic, clean place to stay.
The only thing I did not like was the only lights in the room were overhead lights.
- Ujie (2/5): Perry - The office was under construction. The clerk said i had no reservation. The bathroom door didnt close it had mold all over the door frame and door. The ac filter was so dirty. I washed it in the bath tub. We were on ground floor and it sounded like a heard of cattle above us all night. At least we had hot water for a shower. But 4 people and 2 towels. Glad i always carry my own. Will never stay at scottish inn again
- dawn (4/5): Don't do it - Sooo outdated. Under construction when we got there. Shady people that seems to be living there. Didnt feel safe. Only plus was the water pressure and comfotable bed. Spend your money somewhere else.
- Susan (8/5): - Check in was pleasant enough although I was asked to give a $2 deposit for the room key (which was refunded on my departure). The room needs updating. There is NO place to hang anything up. I also noticed that there was no sprinkler system (in case of a building fire), nor was there any additional interior lock on the room's door. Maybe the latter 2 aren't required by GA state law, but it did seem strange. Additionally, even though the website says 'continental breakfast', there was none because of, you guessed it, Covid.
- April (4/5): - Hotel could have been better maintained but was decently clean and in working order. However, we were traveling with dogs and asked that they not enter the room to clean while we were not there, and they did anyway. And when we were leaving they decided to tell us they’d be charging our card an extra $20 because they failed to charge us for double beds… which we’d booked and confirmed prior to them charging us anything. The grass was pretty high and they cut it for us to have a place to walk the dogs which I thought was nice.
- Tobie (10/5): Nice place to stay near Ga. National Fairgrounds - The National Bikers Roundup was in Perry. The accommodations were fine and the staff is friendly. Clean towels and even had a freezer in my room. They need to update the blankets on the beds. But overall I had a pleasant stay for a reasonable price.
Thanks!!
- Yolanda (2/5): Don't stay crack hotel - I left. This is a crack hotel. Did not want my family staying here. It was awful. Drug addicts doing drugs out front off the rooms
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The only thing good was it was close to my work. No service. You advertised hot break fast, no break fast talk less of cold or hot. The advert is deceptive and should be removed from your site. Service is terrible
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Affordable and clean. Lots of recent updates! Very underrated.
- John (2/5): - Well to start the picture on the internet is not the same as location. The place is old and run down. No wonder it says no refund. The parking lot is OLD and as soon as you pull in you know its not going to be good. The lobby if thats what it is is a hole in the wall. The floors in the room are weak and feel rotted. No table lamp. No extras. The towels look like they are beyond washing to look clean. Asked for a non smoking room and the stale smoke smell nearly made me vomit. Smoking is a DISCUSTING habit. You smokers stink in case you didnt know that. And last complaint was finding a roach crawling in the bed. Would never stay here again. They should just tear the place down
- Kathy (8/5): - The area was quiet. Room clean, the one bad thing no ice machines
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome
- Timothy (8/5): Rough but ok - Effective for a place to stay. Not the best, but good value and willing to help accommodate your stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff is very professional and helpful.the location was great for our situation.
- troy (2/5): Bed bugs - Rome had bed bugs and was terrible smelly so we checked back out put me in a bad situation stay with y’all a lot but not this place had to find another room last minute
- troy (2/5): Bed bug motel - bed bugs got my money back
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The rooms smell like cigarette smoke the paint is peeling off the wall The carpets are dirty there was two very large cockroaches in my room when I brought up the situation at the front desk they told me that one or two cockroaches is not a problem but if there was several that would mean there’s a problem The complementary breakfast consist of muffins and coffee nothing else this is a terrible disgusting hotel
- Franklin (6/5): - Older motel. Needs upgrading. Floors and walls not soundproofed. Heard upstairs occupant’s each step and every time a faucet was turned on. Was okay for one night but not for extended stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Outdated fixtures, very slow shower.
Uninviting curb appeal.
- Big (8/5): - I love the price......I didn't like the limited selection of the free breakfast. Not enough to eat.
- Jill (2/5): It a good hotel - Bathroom rusted cracked tile Bed slept in my clothes room smelled sour. Carpet was sticky. Shoes stuck to floor while walking across carpet. I was in room 121
- Verified traveler (6/5): decent - The outside of the place is dirty and poorly kept. The tub was rusty and the furniture was just pieced together. Some kind of a bad smell in my room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Property is a little run-down. LIghting in stairwells and hallways was iffy. It is fine for the price point. Otherwise, the manager on duty was very helpful, friendly, and responsive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff is always great every time i say . They go out of their way to help any way they can!!!
- Arlene (2/5): Bad Stay - Bathroom was not stocked with paper and towels. Very noisy!!! Had someone knocking on door at 2am then a call from someone that I couldn’t understand!!! Didn’t sleep well at all. Next night it was very noisy so I couldn’t sleep until late.
I asked for three day rate to be reduced to a two day as I needed to find a hotel where I could rest!!! It was denied!!!
Breakfast was rediculous!! Very little offered.
- Connie (2/5): Horrible hotel - The place had an odor. We tried repeatedly to get on their internet kept telling us it couldn't hook up call the front desk we were told to open the door to our room and leave it open and it may be able to connect. I would not think that anybody's with any sense wood tail two women and a child traveling alone to leave the door to the room open to be able to get internet. This was just a horrible experience but I guess you get what you pay for. First experience are guarantee you will be my last I would not suggest this place for nobody horrible horrible horrible
- Hazel (2/5): Horrible stay. - The room was dirty. The walls very thin. Toilet kept backing up.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - pictures look better than the real hotel. Old and outdated. Run down.
- John (8/5): - Nice place to sleep for several hours, beds were comfy
- Verified traveler (10/5): - There was a place to walk my dog and it was well lite at night
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was happy and courteous. Room was clean. They advertise free breakfast, but the only thing available was coffee and a Danish.
- Janet (10/5): All was well.Very friendly - Just one night to stay with two dogs for a dog show,
Have stayed there three times before and family owners are very friendly.
- Verified traveler (4/5): You get what you pay for! - While there we say 2 cockroaches in the room. They had a new wall mounted tv, but still had the old stand where the old tv went. We checked for bedbugs on the mattress sides, did not see any but saw some powder residue all along the top weather it was droppings or treatment not sure. Hotel staff was very friendly.
- michael (8/5): - if you need a clean place to rest your head for one night look no further if you are staying a few days would look else where from a walking stand point around there is a DQ and a restaurant next door open for breakfast and lunch only that is it no stores not much of anything else but plenty within 3 miles if travelling by vehicle
- Robert (6/5): Good for the price. - Price is right. Hotel is VERY VERY dated. My window was boarded up. Owner is VERY NICE. Good coffee in AM. Cheap pastries, but fresh bananas!
Wifi and cable was good!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice clean room at a good price, but you can hear road noise and people standing out front talking almost like they are in your room. You can also hear the people in the rooms next to you easily.
- Dick (2/5): - This experience was much like a trip back to the 1960s, when consideration is given to the decor, the poor ceiling lighting, no lamps, crocked floors, no fridge, the deafening bathroom fan, the barely attached toilet, and where do they buy their 25 cents-a-roll toilet paper? Plan on going out for breakfast!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Needs to be updated badly. The toilet in our bathroom moved when someone sat on it. Bathtub looked gross. Free breakfast consisted of two kinds of cereal and orange juice. That’s it. Bed was clean and comfortable at least.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst Hotel Stay aka Hannibal Lecter lives here - I came from out of town for a funeral with my husband and needed a place just to crash for the night. Stayed here because the price was right, and when we pulled up all of our alarm bells went off. The place was sketchy from the outside (a mattress on the front grass, trash in front of some of the rooms from what appeared to be permanent tenants). Checking in the clerk was barely understandable or clear. The room was a flashback to the 30's. Between the outside and inside of the room appearance, the noises at all hours, and some people wandering around, it wouldn't have surprised us if Hannibal Lecter himself had a room here. With being told Wi-Fi was available and what the password was, we did as told, and it didn't work. Called the front to let them know, and then the front clerk brought 3 other non-employed individuals into our room to tell us we weren't doing it correctly (which in itself was very uncomfortable), and trying to get them to leave was near impossible. After a horrible nights sleep here, going to check out was more interesting. Went to the front, and waited until someone made it up there to let us check out, same guy as the night before, showed up front barely dressed to check me out of the room, and still incredibly difficult to understand, my husband and I couldn't leave fast enough. Very unprofessional and advise everyone to find somewhere else to stay for the night, I'd highly recommend your vehicle or a cardboard box anywhere else.
- Caroline (8/5): Old but great - It’s an older hotel but the room was very clean. They are in the process of renovating. The management and staff were super nice and accommodating. I travel to Perry a few times a year and this will be my “go-to” place from now on.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We had a complaint on our noise level the second night into the week, and the manager was extremely rude about the situation. Even when we fixed the problem, he watched us like a hawk for the rest of the week, which was not necessary considering we fixed the problem and didn’t cause any more. We will not be staying here again.
- Casey (2/5): - My interaction with Bob, the manager, was TERRIBLE. Not only did he constantly speak over me, but he dismissed my safety and security concerns, raised his voice at me, refused to provide me with copies of the copious notes he was taking on the print out of my stay information (which included my personal contact information, card information, etc.), and slammed his hand against the glass divider in the lobby when I asked to read the notes he had taken. I had to very sternly ask instruct him to pass them through the lower section of the glass divider because I wasn't going to strain my neck to read a document that had been forcefully smashed against a window.
This interaction solidified my decision to cancel my reservation and report the incident to Expedia. Immediately upon exiting the office, I called to speak with an Expedia representative. After a short time (maybe 5 minutes or so), I reach a live rep. After explain my situation, he "transferred" me to another representative. That transfer was never complete as I waited more than 30 minutes on the line without so much as a courtesy reminder that they'd not forgotten me on the line. Finally, I ended the call so I could focus on finding a new place to stay.
Pulling up, I was immediately uncomfortable with both the property & the surrounding area. The photos posted on Expedia are taken in such a way that you cannot see the gas station that is attached/adjacent to the hotel & do not correctly portray it.
- Beatrice (2/5): - They took funds from an account for a time that was not gauranteed. They are bad business . Credit card their. Please don't use them
- jhaddeman (8/5): - a lot of bang for the buck very clean, comfortable for 2 people.
- Willis (2/5): Worst hotel I've had in a long time. - Had to ask for the sheets to be changed on arrival had grease stains and dirt spots. Bathroom floor was cracked and the room smelled like cigarettes. No space to hang your clothes being there was no closet or clothes rack in the room.
- Nini (6/5): - They were very nice. When the AC turned off, they quickly reponded. The room seemed clean, no oders. The negative was finding roaches and the tub was clogged. I spent only a night so I informed him about the tub at check out.
- Theron (8/5): Basic motel experience. - Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Commode bolts were loose, tightened them myself. Garden in the former pool was interesting, but done half-way. Bath towels we're thick and soft.
- Dana (6/5): - Cheap place to sleep. Lots of renovations and very old room decor.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Property looks and feels old. But bed was comfortable, and the price was right. Check-in person was very friendly.
