The shower. No amount of adjustment could get it comfortable. It would either get too hot or too cold. Once comfortable it would not last more than a minute or so before it either got too hot or too cold.

There was construction in progress in the hallways that I didn’t know about at the time of booking. The pictures showed a hot tub but they removed it. The pool was closed for maintenance. Front desk staff wasn’t friendly at time of check in.

D9626PLtimothyg (4/5): Not worth the money - We spent over a week in the hotel. While there were some good things, the not so good things outweighed that. Front desk staff was great. Room was very clean. Our shower started acting up on Christmas Eve. We were told that Maintenance was off until Saturday but they would come in when they got back. Never heard anything from maintenance. Talked to front desk through text and maintenance fixed the shower on the 29th. It would randomly scold us and our children. Not good especially for an ada room. The “renovated” rooms could have been done better by my 9 year old. I am a contractor so he would have an advantage over ordinary people but “professionals” did these renovations and they have some major flaws that will keep maintenance working for a while and may get a lawsuit from someone when the nightstand falls off the wall. Nothing is level at all. Nightstand is falling off the wall (I took a video of it but won’t let me post) the drawer would not stay closed and maintenance told me the renovation guys just screwed it into the drywall so they couldn’t fix it. The door in that room sticks closed if you close it too far and you are completely stuck in the bathroom unless someone kicks it back on track. The shelves in the bathroom are falling off. When occupancy is up the showers will lose pressure and hot water. Other than the rooms breakfast was good but if you get there after 9, there will be no oatmeal or anything being restocked. Fruit was reused daily and the melon tasted rotten. Overall breakfast was decent though and we ate it daily for the 10 days we were there. Seriously go somewhere else. It’s a decent hotel with a great staff but save your money and go elsewhere. I never once saw management on site. It’s definitely not worth their price point.

25kirks (4/5): Front Desk staff needs a refresher in customer service training. - As a business traveler, finding a pet friendly hotel and in-house amenities become important. One of the primary things I look for is the availability of a gym so that I don't have to leave the dog on premises while I leave because the dog will bark and it becomes a nuisance to other guests on site. Upon check-in I was informed the gym and spa were both under construction and closed. And while these things happen, they were not published as being unavailable on the website. If the information was published, it helps me make a better decision and gives me the option to decide to look at other properties. I brought this to the attention of the front desk and asked if they could knock some off the rate. Having worked in the hospitality industry for Westin at the front desk for many years, I understand the need to be empathetic and also own the responsibility of compensating guests should the stay not meet the expectations. It is also incumbent upon a business to inform guests of potentital issues. The front desk was adamant they would not be able to adjust the rate and described the difficulty of providing information up front to guests because they don't own the website. And I mentioned while that may be true, hotels own the responsibility to inform. I was polite, never raised my voice, nor was I a "Karen" but business is a relationship where a business provides a service at a price the customer agrees to, and the customer does their part by providing payment. And while they did knock the pet fee off after a long discussion, it should never have required a long discussion. It was simple. If things are closed that weren't published prior to check in, and the guest is not happy, then find a way to make the guest happy. That's the customer service business. I was in it for a long time and appreciate things happen, but at the end of the day, do your best to find different options for your guests. I don't feel in the future this will be a place I would stay because the staff just didn't understand customer service well. I honestly was surprised at the reasonable request that was made and the response that was given. As a business traveler I'll start calling ahead before booking a hotel because Hampton Inn information online is unreliable.

There was a gap in the bathroom door, i guess because it was a pocket door, but that reduced privacy for us. I booked for the hot tub - and it was out of order. Not a great value.
I7792PGrichj (10/5): Hampton Inn, Reno & Staff Member Andrea - I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Reno for a business trip this week, and like most, a hotel is a hotel, it's a place to sleep, shower and get ready before heading to the office. I have stayed at many hotels all over the country during my many years of travel, and I can say that my stay here was exceptional, and the one staff member that made the difference was Andrea (last name unknown.) She was exceptionally professional and friendly. Most staff members are professional of course, but Andrea went above and beyond. I don't ever write reviews but felt it was important to speak to this particular Hampton, and Andrea specifically as the perfect professional. Bottom line, yes, I recommend this hotel highly, and if you're find yourself staying here then I hope you have an opportunity to meet Andrea. Thanks Andrea for making my stay enjoyable. alisaw935 (10/5): Stellar service - I stayed in Reno for two weeks for work. I stayed in three different Hampton hotels during my trip because I hated to extend my stay. It is a key aspect of my job to train people on proper and perfect customer service. I should have come to this hotel from the beginning. All of the staff are polite and well informed, However, every conversation with Andrea was a masterclass in what customer service is and should be. She was polite, authentic, and attentive. She remembered my name, and even my birthday (I was here on my birthday). Thank you to the entire Staff for a clean and serene stay. And thank you Andrea for making sure my stay was perfect.

Jeanne (6/5): - We specifically selected this hotel for 2 reasons: a covered/indoor pool and adjoining rooms. Our trip started out poorly with the check in. When I booked through Expedia, I specifically asked for adjoining rooms (inner doors connected). I called the hotel the next day to confirm the reserved rooms were adjoining. The property reservations person said the request was not in the system, but she had put in the notes and scheduled adjoining rooms. When we checked in the rooms were "close" but not adjoining. We needed 4 beds between the 2 rooms. The option given was a room with a single bed and the second with the 2 beds. Then the front desk said we could always check out. Extremely rude!

James (6/5): - Check-in a bit odd as incidentals had to be charged using an actual card for tapping - no Apple Pay although this was advertised. Also was not allowed to swipe card. Breakfast also a bit slow to replenish even although we were down early and it was not busy. Breakfast selection very good though with plenty of healthy options.

vicki (8/5): - Would definitely recommend. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room, the lobby and the breakfast area were very clean. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the lack of towels. We started out with 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 2 washcloths but every time the room was cleaned, some of the used towels were taken (not all) and some of the towels were replaced. Every day we ended up short either a washcloth or bath towel. So please be a little more generous when putting towels in the bathroom!

856derricki (8/5): Friendly staff! Nice accommodations. - Friendly staff, very accommodating. Andrea has been training Lilly and doing an amazing job. Andrea is always helping someone it seems. She is on top of her side jobs as well! Always making sure the coffee is fresh and available! The gym is always clean and all of the equipment is operational, with a decent selection of dumbbells. I dont use the pool but the pool area looks nice. The back patio is comfortable with a nice gas fireplace. The rooms are clean, the only issue i jave with the rooms are the refrigerator is way too small for me and the microwave is set up way to low underneath the TV stand. I stay here every time I am in Reno. It is close enough to all the sites and far away enough from all the sites at the same time. And knowing Andrea and Lizzy will be there to great me with a smile makes it all worth while!
Heather (6/5): Needs some work - Bathroom had a sliding door that did not stay closed. It would slowly roll back on the rail. Also it hung away from the wall by about two inches. This combo basically made for zero privacy for anyone in the bathroom

R1184LFrobertm (10/5): Amazing staff makes this an amazing hotel - It's the people here that make this hotel remarkable. We are in town for wildland fire fighting operations. We sent a list of all the crews coming in and going out for the summer. In an area that has a lot of tourism during the summer, they were able to get us all rooms. We had a more than a few changes and had to amend all the reservations. They got us all taken care of and never once seemed upset that we were changing all the work they did to get us all rooms. A month in, we were reassigned to a fire out of the area and had to leave. When the fire was contained we were released to come back to Reno. The staff here accommodated us again after leaving without warning. Two weeks later, we got called away again and left. When we returned, now during the busy burning man time, they worked with us again and got us all rooms again. Kelly, Ashley, and the front desk staff were always so nice to us even though we left the hotel without warning now 2 times. As far as the hotel, the rooms are nice. They have comfortable beds, good water pressure on the shower, and the breakfast is pretty good. Me and my crew will always come back here as long as the hotel will have us back after all we put them through. Thank you again to the staff here at the Hampton Inn!
Doug (8/5): - The property was a bit messy, but it was Burning-Man time so my wife and I understood. 2 towels, wash cloths, and face cloths is cutting it a bit close for 2 people for 2 nights (possibly due to the Burning-Man effect). The breakfast offered a number of choices and was very good. There were minor issues with the room, but the room and our linen were clean.

Easy booking thru the Hilton honors program Rep!!! Picked location by trip advisor ratings and validated by the comments. Note select an even numbered room to view the mountain (334) away from freeway side. Note easy to find off freeway west of reno proper buy quiet surroundings and setting. Rooms are quiet well designed and impressive coordinated furniture with a hidden mini-fridge and microwave. Spacious enough for two and every decor looks fresh and not worn . Only 3 flors so elevator is relatively quiet equipped with 2 side by side. Staff very accommodating and pleasant. No doubt a great place to return your wether short or long stay looking forward. Just like the Kahala suites in kona big island looking foreword to another stay there soon

MARY (8/5): - The staff was very helpful and courteous. My only real complaint is that the “hot” breakfast items were cold even though they were in the warming pans.
Michael (4/5): No housekeeping service. - We stayed for 2 nights, and most things were fine. However, we did not have any room service, and they failed to clean our room, make the beds, or replace towels and the like. We left the room at 10:00 am and returned at 10:00 pm so they had plenty of time. Not life changing but pretty disappointing.
Emily (8/5): Great stop! - Parking was easy and check-in staff were very helpful. Beautiful hotel and very spacious room. Breakfast was good. Location is very safe. Right off the highway but able to get good rest during my trip. There are a few food options nearby that were great! Price was the highest compared to all the other places I stayed during my 5-day road trip. If I need to drive through Reno again, I'll consider this location but I don't think I can afford to return regularly.

teresawZ8477OD (10/5): Never a disappointment! - We have family in Reno, so we always stay at the Hampton 900 Ambassador Dr. It is always a pleasure to stay. We had the king suite which was so roomy with an large bathroom. The breakfast is free and May I say delicious. It has everything from waffles 2kinds of batter, which my husband loves as well as eggs, breakfast meat, Yogurt and fresh fruit, coffee, juice, oatmeal, you get the picture. The staff is very nice and the lobbies and room are very clean.
Cynthia (6/5): Room was okay - Tv remote did not work. Staff said the remotes do not pair but only informed me after I had to call them and scan a QR code. The toilet would not flush and did not stop running for awhile.
