Guest Reviews
- Angeles (8/5): - Nice place, the kitchen was big and fully stock, the area was nice, close to the highway.
- Douglas (2/5): - Could not check in. No key in door. Texted number on info sheet. No reply.
- Monika (10/5): - an interesting stay, a very fancy house turned into an airbnb.
we arrived late at night so we quietly slipped off our shoes in the foyer(as requested) and went to our v large rooms.
used the lovely huge kitchen in the morning to cook n take our meals n left. saw not a single other soul though we knew other ppl were there.
It was competitive priced and well appointed. good one plus that wonderful wooden bench at the entrance and the gleaming stone of the kitchen countertop. there is old money here!
- Anyou (8/5): - Room is clean and staff is friendly. Close to exit glacier.
- Lina (10/5): - Easy access to the NP
- Dan (10/5): - Great lobby with all the cooking needs available.
Super clean
- Sudeshna (10/5): - Cool, calm and cute
- Mary (10/5): - Twin Peaks was a perfect place for us to stay. It was very clean, very quiet, and well located. We had use of the kitchen and 2 refrigerators. All was well kept. The cleaning staff were hard working and thorough. The common area was very large and comfortable.
- Steffany (4/5): - Booked last minute and was grateful. It was very expensive to have no hot water two of the three mornings.
The grounds are bare or littered with rusty oil drums.
I liked the shared kitchen facilities and the bed was comfortable. One of the blinds did not raise or lower.
Except for the shared areas the place was shabby and bare.
- Narelle (10/5): Happy to recommend - Lovely building. Easy check in and check out. Clean rooms
- James (10/5): - Everything was great
- roger (10/5): - The staff was amazing, clean and it felt like your home. If needing a overnight or weeks day stay we would recommend highly.
- shengzhong (8/5): - Really clean, quiet and safe with nice Full kitchen.
- Vishwanatha (8/5): - Our room was big and nice. Common kitchen with microwave and fridge. No elevator.
- Tarrand (10/5): - Great view and clean room
- Paul (10/5): - Great room. No front desk and didn't answer their phone or text and mailbox was full for a question prior to check-in. In the end, it worked out fine. Would stay here again.
- MD SAKIBUR (4/5): - The room didn’t have enough amenities. There was no table, only nightstand. Heating was not working well, it was cold inside.
Beds had wheels, and noisy. I was called before booking to check if the beds have wheels (which I found from another review), Christina (manager) told me that there is no wheels anymore, but I found. Beds are so much noisy, uncomfortable, very thin comforter or blanket. Heating system does not work well, thermostat was crazy - not working well. Did not have blow hair dryer, had to call manager to provide.
I booked room#4, but found that they assigned to me room#3. Area is remote, kinda quiet. Saw roaches around the thermostat. Pillows were old, furnitures were so
old.
Overall, not so good, but they charge at least $200/ night. I would not recommend this place!
- Nicholas (10/5): - Perfect for a place to sleep for all of us.
- Lauren (10/5): CLEAN and near everything! - Near town with access to everything. There was restaurants nearby and the room was comfy and clean. Internet was speedy and I enjoyed the touches in the place to make us feel at home. There was coffee and ice and extra towels.
- Brandon (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay and the owners were very helpful.
- Ashley (4/5): - We were locked out along with the rest of the guests. We texted and called the number posted with no response. We then found an open window and crawled in to unlock the door for everyone. The beds are not comfortable and very noisy. The pillows are very flat and not enough of them. There is no one that monitors the lodge. This was a huge issue as other guests were very loud and stayed up till midnight watching a movie. Overall, not a great stay as leaving very tired from our vacation.
- Gregory (10/5): - Shared kitchen was amazing.
- Tridev (2/5): - There were nobody for the check in and also the common kitchen was dirty. Very bad smell was there. We did not get hot water in the bathroom oneday. Not worth for money.
- Josh (10/5): - This is probably the cleanest place I’ve stayed at. Basic room with great private bath. Shared kitchen space with other guests. It’s off the main road in a really quiet spot. I would definitely stay here again visiting Seward.
- Sheila (10/5): - This property has a shared kitchen and living space and was very nice.
- WEI (8/5): - No-frills room. Simple but pricy while it is in Alaska, in Seward, so understandable. The wall is thin, can hear the noise from other room or upstair. Still is good for one night stay. No check-in, remember to check the detail in booking description.
- Devesh (4/5): Good location, lousy beds - This is a big home with bedrooms that have attached bathrooms.
The location is good and there is plenty of parking. The kitchen access is great feature you won't find in hotels.
A bunch of issues though. The beds are just lousy. Make creeking noises, have wheels on bottom so they move if you rest against the wall, have no head rest and are tilted towards the center.
One pays for the hotel for nice sleep and they don't fulfill that. Hotels com should kick them off the platform
- Kami (8/5): - It was fine. The beds were noisy. It was a good place to stop
- Yoshie (10/5): - We loved how clean it was!
- Cheryl (8/5): - Basic place that was very clean. Served our group of 5 well
- Line Jeanne (10/5): - The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. People were respectful of each others space in the kitchen
- Kory (8/5): - It was clean and well kept. It was nice to be away from the commotion of town. It was our first experience checking into a place by texting them and never seeing anyone, but it was just fine. I especially liked the quality of the shower.
- STACIA (4/5): - Crowded and loud in common area. Property surrounding the building looked like a junk yard.
- Tamara (8/5): - Nice stay
- THOMAS (8/5): - The check-in was easy, property info was clear. Beds decent and available common kitchen worked out well. OK place to stay in Seward.
- Charles (6/5): Average/overrated - It didn't deserve the rating you gave it, which has only been the case now twice. It was clean but very average. It worked out alright. One very bad feature was the laundry room for doing their linens was on the second floor between our room and another room and was running still at 10pm when we had to call and ask them to turn it off so we could sleep. And when we arrived at 4:30pm the laundry that needed to be done was stacked up in the second floor hallway. There was room to get around it but it was a little untidy. The lady I talked to apologized and said they had bought more linens so they wouldn't have to do laundry as much, but it will still be a problem if they continue to keep the washer and dryer on the second floor beside the rooms. Also the view out our window in the back looked out on what looked like a small 55 gallon barrel yard and some other equipment that looked like it had been well cared for. Once they turned off the dryer at 10pm it was quiet and fortunately with the things we had planned in Seward we didn't have to be there other than to sleep. Would encourage people to go to Seward though, it was a very nice town and the SeaLife Center and the Kenai Fjords Classic Cruise was outstanding! They also had some very good restaurants!
- Marlys (2/5): - The room we booked was not available. The room we were booked into was dirty and unavailable upon our arrival. The person who was there managing the hostel was not physically present. We left and requested a full refund. We were lucky to find alternative accomodations for one night.
- Terry (10/5): - This is a fun low-key place to stay. Be sure to know your room number (on your reservation) as you will check yourself in. Everything was clean and it was very quiet. The shared kitchen was a nice place to meet people and had everything we needed.
- Susan (8/5): - Lighting in room needs improving. No TV service. Beds are pretty basic. But clean, friendly, convenient, definitely spacious!
- Eric (10/5): Family Time in Room 9 - Honestly, I know there were lots of b&b options there and if we hadn't booked so late we probably never would have even looked at this place, but for a family of 6 we had TONS of space in Room 9, and the host was amazing, the setting was serene, and you really couldn't ask for more than you got. If you're looking for a lot of room to spread out and clean space in a family friendly environment, this place is perfect.
- Kourosh (10/5): Seward stay - This is a big cabin where you can rent rooms depending on the size of your party. We got the bigger room upstairs. It accommodated seven people. Very cozy in a beautiful location and super close to the small downtown and cruise tour location.
- David (10/5): - Very nice
- Joseph (10/5): - This was such a wonderful place to stay...the room was perfect for our entire group. Brittany was wonderful.
- Siying (10/5): - Spacious room, large beds, clean and well-functioning bathroom, high-quality shampoos and bodywash (a surprise for us). Very convenient kitchen, has everything you need in a kitchen!
The curtain isn't doing a perfect job of blocking the lights. Our room is close to the kitchen, so a bit noisy with other travelers in the morning. Not a problem for us.
- Mark (8/5): - A little confusing about the check in procedure but other than that it was great.
- Huaiyu (2/5): - I was quite disappointed with my stay at this lodge. The room was located right next to the kitchen and water heater, which made it very noisy throughout the night. It was also much smaller than expected, with only a bed — no table or chair. The bedding was in poor condition, full of pilled fabric balls and not comfortable at all. The curtain didn’t even fully cover the window, so there was little privacy and too much light in the room.
The surroundings of the building were also unusual — filled with farming machines and barrels, which gave the place a strange feeling.
- Kendra (10/5): - Nice clean place right outside of town. Community kitchen was odd but worked out in the end. Brought the guest together for social time. No one messed with anyone else’s food or drinks.
- Patricia (10/5): - The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The place is very clean, and the rooms & common areas are spacious. We saw two moose early in the morning from our bedroom window.
- Laurence (10/5): - The property was like a tour area, Brittany was so kind enough to let us stay in their property, clean and nice place
- Jerome (2/5): - It all started with the check in, no one was there to point us to our room, the phone number listed on a instruction sheet was for a past employee that did not work there any more. We tried calling another number we found in their contact information/website, did not ring anywhere, we contemplated taking out the starlindish but decided to go down the road and spend 3x as much.
- Paul (10/5): - Very clean and quiet. Great place to visit Exit Glacier.
- Karen (2/5): - The property was closed for the winter season so we couldn’t stay. We had to go look for another place to stay.
- Tonya (10/5): - Room was slightly musty smelling and our view was a bunch of barrels and totes in the yard
- Christie (10/5): - It was a pleasant surprise, because we really weren't sure what to expect. The place was warm and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils, so very easy to fix our own meal and everything was clean despite only being serviced by the guests. The entrance, parking area was well kept, but the view outside the window was equipment for maintaining the area, which is understandable. So all in all, very pleased with the accommodations and process. Thank you and two thumbs up
- David (10/5): - Very nice lodge off the beaten path. Quiet and well kept. You’ll need a vehicle to get to town but if you’re here you’ll probably have one anyway.
- Charles (8/5): - Nice property. Very useful to have a frig for the clients to use in the hall but would also be nice to have a small dorm type in the room.
We would certainly come back again and recommend.
- David (10/5): - This is a hidden gem. It’s off the beaten path of Seward, and a few miles out of town, but if you like quiet and lodge-type environment over hotel room accommodations, this place is perfect. Originally built as a lodge for a logistics team serving the area, and doubling as a rental, it is an incredible value in the area. Convenient to the ididaride dog sleds and exit glacier, it’s a perfect getaway.
- Eric (8/5): - Staff was great, location and price was great. Mattress was a little on the cheap side but overall we had a great stay and would go back. Thank you!
- Laxmikant (4/5): - There was a fish cooked in the kitchen by other guests. Entire house was smelling super bad. Not a good experience for vegetarian family like us.
- Ryan (6/5): - The lodge area was some bedrooms and a community kitchen. The kitchen was a little unkept but, it was a good place to make coffee.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It's kind of a hostel style house. Private rooms and thankfully private bathrooms but the rest of the house is shared. No staff so you check yourself in and out. We were unable to use the kitchen area because a large group decided to cook and hang out for hours. The walls are thin so you can hear everyone else in the house. Definitely a good location and fairly good price for the area. Definitely not what we're used to.
- Kory (10/5): Great option. - My dad, brother and i needed a place with multiple beds. We are all adults so finding a place with more than 2 beds was tough. Took a changlce on this place and loved it. Clean room, comfortable beds, hot shower, free wifi. Was great. Great price highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Kinda clunky... - kind of different check-in process - general areas are always accessible, not locked, and shared by all guests (as is the kitchen area). Ask that you remove shoes when entering - had requested accommodation for ground floor access, but not accommodated. Lots of stairs / no elevator.
- Timothy (10/5): Nice place - Great place, clean and friendly
Had a European feel to the lodge
- Jennifer (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay in this lovely area. Especially liked use of the kitchen and a fridge to store our stuff.
- Christine (8/5): Comfortable stay in Seward - Comfortable room with bathroom. Communal area - kitchen well equipped. Quiet location on outskirts of the town but easy parking
- Marilyn (10/5): - We had let them know that we would be late for check in, but the information to find our room was not where we were told it would be. As Canadians, it cost us $13 to make a “roaming” phone call, and all went well. The actual room was huge with a kitchen. We were able to cook our own breakfast.
- Lisa (4/5): - The property and room were fine but the carpet was dirty and very spotty. The most frustrating experience was having a clogged toilet and not able to find a plunger anywhere or locate anyone to ask. Once you’ve arrived there is NO one there and nobody answers any of the phone numbers listed - not by text or call. We ended up buying our own plunger.
- Amy (10/5): - It was a nice place to stay. I would recommend it and stay there again.
- Rose (6/5): - It was clean and comfortably. We were not greated or given any instructions on the use of the kitchen. I texted Kristina if the coffee and creamer were communal and did not hear back. There was a guest in the room above us that a child was running around! It was quite noisy but stopped at 1030. That was the reason for 3 stars!
- Alexander (10/5): - It was easy to access and plenty of room
- emma (10/5): - It was a beautiful property really close to “downtown” Seward! We would definitely stay again!!
- RUKMANI (10/5): - Amazing location and nice hospitality.
- tree (2/5): - You can hear the room above you using the bathroom you can hear them walking around and you can hear them moving in the bed
You can hear the conversation in the room next to you and you can hear everything from conversation to the front door opening
You have no privacy every one can hear everything if you are coming with a romantic partner you will not have any contact with out everybody in the house knowing.
Sons bed was load every move was loud and my bed was hard and felt like it was 10 years old
Do not stay if you want to sleep because you won’t between the load noises and the toilet sound from the other room and the uncomfortable bed
- Souptik (10/5): Great stay, bit confusing check-in - Check in was confusing since nobody returned text, call or email. Once we checked in, stay was great. Room(#10 at top floor) was spacious with 4 beds(!!), bathroom was big and clean, common kitchen area had everything we needed. I’d highly recommend if you are staying in the area
- David (4/5): - Staff is non existent. Did not respond to questions via text. Room was not cleaned between first and second nights. The common area was right outside the door, but we might as well have been sleeping out there. Could hear all conversations crystal clear. Woken by the fire alarm going off as someone burned pancakes in the kitchen at 6:30 in the morning.
- Susan (8/5): Nice place ! - We liked having the kitchen available for us to cook our own meals !
We felt safe there and it was handy to everything in Seward !
We talked to some nice fellow guests who were very interesting
- Amit (2/5): - Not worth the money.
- Amit (2/5): - Right from the time we stepped in, everything was annoying. Dirty kitchen, no response to messages, not changing linen on daily basis, no room service, making our three night stay awful. Will not suggest booking this place.
- William (6/5): - The mattress was terrible and the pillows were the worst. Other than that,it was good, but tough to come back for the night and have to use that bed.
- Alyssa (8/5): - Check in was easy. There is no staff on site so you just text them when you get here. There is one shared tv in the main room and kitchen is for all rooms to use. Pretty simple and home like feeling.
- Marlys (10/5): Loved our stay - This place is beautiful. Enjoyed our stay very much.
- Wang (6/5): - Our room was cold, we requested to have the heater checked, NO RESPONSE! We then requested a portable heater, NO RESPONSE! On our third day there, some of our food items were missing from the common kitchen refrigerator.
- Walter (4/5): - The bottom landing of the stairs down from the bedrooms was very dark so it was hard to see where the steps ended and the landing started. My wife fell and her her back badly because she thought she was stepping on the landing but there was still one more step to go. She couldn’t see the last step. Later I also almost fell. Not happy with the place.
- Brad (8/5): - Staff was not very present on the property. The bathroom in our room had no toilet plunger and there was not one in the whole house, apparently.
- Suzanne (10/5): - This was a quite older Lodge located a few miles from downtown. It was very clean and comfortable. It has a shared kitchen and sitting area. Each of our rooms had their own bathroom. Karrie was very friendly and even made blueberry muffins for all the guest. We would definitely stay here again.
- STACIE (10/5): - Beautiful area, the property was clean and cute. I would stay there again.
- Mary (10/5): - Very clean comfortable accommodations, shared full kitchen and common room well kept. Would happily stay there again.
- Richa (10/5): - Simple secluded stay
- margaret (8/5): - Beautiful setting. Well equipped kitchen.
- Yingyue (4/5): - The sheets and towels are really worn out
- melanie (10/5): - We didn’t know that we could use the kitchen. It was a big and clean shared kitchen. The use of the kitchen should be disclosed. So that guests can get ready for.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Bare-bones - This is a bare-bones accommodation in a nice large house. There’s no staff on site. The room was clean but not really nice or comfortable. The price was low.
- Wayne (6/5): - Their was a lot of garbage outside of our window. it was average to below average on everything else. I don't think I would stay here again. contact was non existent!
- Yanbo (6/5): - 帮朋友订的,就是一栋楼分割成各种小间,10个人也只有一个洗手间,有公共厨房,离seward 坐船地方跟超市近。
- Ilan (8/5): - Nice
- Palmer (10/5): - We saw a moose and her calf almost immediately after parking, which was awesome. The space was clean and quiet plus checkout and check in was super easy
- Lawrence (10/5): - A quiet, clean and comfortable stay.
- Frederick (8/5): Great Location - Clean Cozy place. Private room in a large cabin. Nice clean room. Communal kitchen/fridge. Great location to fishing, food, and glacier hikes
- Elizabeth (6/5): - This place had no one to check us in. The door was unlocked and it felt unsafe. No one was managing the property so the fridge and kitchen was a mess. This is a cute place that could improve with a little management
