- Dirk (3/5): Einmal und sicher nicht wieder - Die ruhige Lage mit viel Wald um das Hotel herum. Die vorhandene Ladesäule für Elektroautos. Das Hotel wird wie aus der Zeit gefallen. Insgesamt hat das sicherlich gut in die Zeit um 1990 gepasst. Aber für meinen Geschmack deutlich zu verschnörkelt. Was besonders negativ auffällt: Die Lehnen der Stühle sind abgegriffen. Im oberen Bereich des Zimmertrakts richt es penetrant nach Kamin. Die Rezeption war bereits um 19 Uhr nicht mehr besetzt. Das Essen im Restaurant war leider nicht gut. Das "Krüstchen" (ein Gericht mit Schnitzel, Pilzrahmsoße und Salat mit Früchten gemischt) habe ich noch Tage danach gemerkt.

Abendessen Schnitzel mit Champion und Soße sehr gut Spargel mit Schale. Schnitzel mit vielen Sehnen. Restaurantchef hat mich ignoriert bei Reklamation. Ist kommentarlos weggegangen. Das war der 2. Abend. So behandelt man keine Gäste.

- Herald (8/5): A beautiful hotel, great rooms, superb breakfast and very nice spa. - Excellent hotel, with splendid decoration and beautiful rooms, in the very style of a "Jagdhaus". Breakfast is simply superb, nothing better ever. Dinner on the other hand we only had for one evening and was good but not in sink with the very high quality of the hotel and of the rooms, breakfast, spa, surroundings.

- Till-Christian (10/5): Grandios und wie im Märchen. - Ich kenne viele Spitzenhotels. Aber der Jagdhof hat schon etwas einzigartiges: Man kommt herein und fühlt sich in einer anderen Welt. Wie im Märchen oder einem Traum. Diese Gesamtstimmung durchzieht das ganze Haus. Die vielen liebevollen, perfektionierten Details sind unglaublich. Ob die frischen Blumen beim Frühstück auf jeder Platte, jedem Teller am traumhaften Buffet oder die aufwändig gedeckten Tische im Restaurant (sehr lecker und eine gute Idee ist das Mini-Käsefondue als Vorspeise). Mein Zimmer war superschön, neu und passend zum Charme des Hauses. Ich überlege - aber mir fällt nichts ein. Ah eines vielleicht: Die Musikuntermalung ist generell sehr schön. Aber es gibt ein Lied mit sehr lebhafter mittelalterlich-dudelnder Musik, das nervös macht, nervt und altbacken wirkt: Das herausnehmen und durch die anderen Instrumentalstücke mit smoother Loungemusik ersetzen.

Das Personal war aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Essen war hochwertig und geschmacklich wirklich stark, besonders die Wildgerichte passen perfekt zum Ambiente. Die Zimmer waren sauber und gemütlich. Kleinere Details im Zimmer könnten moderner sein.

- Nicolas (6/5): A pleasant countryside property but the overall experience bellow expectations - Beautiful setting in nature, charming property with good spa facilities and a quality restaurant. The hotel is clean and the staff is polite and helpful when asked questions. Overall experience below expectations for a Relais & Châteaux. Communication prior to arrival via the Booking messaging system was inconsistent and unclear, particularly regarding room configuration and arrangements, which set the tone for the stay. There was also no proper onboarding at check-in (no hotel tour and no clear explanation of included services). The breakfast buffet remained unchanged over several days and felt repetitive. In addition, there were visible signs of understaffing, with the bar closed on some evenings and some services unavailable. The overall service and communication fell short of the standards we experienced in our other Relais & Châteaux stays. This was unfortunately the lowest overall experience among our nine Relais & Châteaux stays so far.

One of the few hotels that feel like coming home and where you feel the owners and staff want to make your stay to feel like a personal experience. We were back after 5 years and promised to make this an annual return. If not more frequently! Nothing, it’s perfect as it is.

Die Frühstückskellnerin aus der Dominikanischen Republik ist fantastisch. Der Kellner aus Syrien ist auch sehr nett. Das Zimmer war schon um 13 Uhr fertig. Es gibt Rakula TV. Die Minibar ist inklusive. Es gibt in der Nähe den tollen Bach und auch einen Grillplatz vom Hotel. Es gab viele sehr trinkselige Niederländer, die bis spät in der Nacht in der Bar Lieder von H. Fischer abfeierten, vor allem Atemlos durch die Nacht, sehr amüsant und geil. Das Bad von Zimmer 40 ist uralt und ein No Go. Die Zimmertüren, der Schrank und auch das Bettgestell sind von vorgestern. Das geht nicht für 344,52 € die Nacht ohne Verpflegung. Frau Dornhöfer ließ sich leider nicht blicken. Beim Abendessen dauerte der Service zu Beginn zu lange und der Tisch war zu klein. Die Flasche Mineralwasser beim Abendessen kostet 11,80 Uhr. Das Zitterspiel beim Abendessen muss bezahlt werden, kostet 3,80 € pro Person.

- Brigitte (9/5): Stimmiges Ambiente und megatolles Frühstück - Sehr schön, der Mix aus historischem Gebäude mit zum Namen passender Inneneinrichtung und Deko - sehr geschmackvoll - und eher moderner Einrichtung des Zimmers. Für ein Einzelzimmer war es außergewöhnlich großzügig. Das Personal am Empfang war sehr freundlich, im Restaurant ebenfalls. Das Frühstück ist wirklich sensationell, vom sehr reichhaltigen Angebot und Geschmack her und der tollen Anrichteweise, außerdem ist das Ambiente des Frühstücksbereichs im Restaurant außergewöhnlich, viel Deko aber keineswegs überladen oder kitschig, und der Service sehr aufmerksam und angenehm ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Für den Wellnessbereich hatte ich wegen dienstlicher Termine leider keine Zeit. Die Lage ist zwar sehr schön ruhig und idyllisch, aber doch sehr abseits. Bei einem solchen Hotel und in dieser Preis Kategorie würde ich mir die Nutzung der E-Lade Säulen kostenlos wünschen.

- Ute (10/5): Voor herhaling vatbaar, zeker voor een kort verblijf! - Ruime keuze, zeer gevarieerd. Noem het op en het was er! Aangename sfeer en zeer vriendelijk personeel in de ontbijtruimte. Het wellness- en fitnessaanbod zouden iets uitgebreider mogen zijn. Tijdens mijn verblijf regende het constant, dan wil je niet naar buiten. Ik wou naar de fitnesskamer gaan, maar helaas waren alle toestellen buiten gebruik. Zeer jammer. Dat viel echt tegen.

Deren Rückmeldung : einfach fantastisch, allein die Einrichtung und die vielen kleinen Details. Es gibt bestimmt mondänere Unterkünfte, aber dann fehlt das heimelige und die Herzlichkeit. Ein kleiner Wehrmutstropfen : Die Portionen im Restaurant könnten etwas größer sein.

Wunderschönes Zimmer, ein kleiner, sehr feiner Wellnessbereich, die Ruhe, die außergewöhnliche Atmosphäre. Das Hotel ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet. Hervorzuheben ist auch die hervorragende Küche, die ausnehmende Freundlichkeit und der aufmerksame Service aller Mitarbeiter/Innen. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder! NICHTS - es war phantastisch

Een beperkte kaart voor twee verschillende restaurants waardoor het feitelijk 1 restaurant was. Bv geen barbecue buffet. Daardoor was het goed dat we niet langer bleven dan 2 nachten. You can have a snack/baked goodies with some drinks at the fireplace. The minibar is free. All of the small personalised touches make it extra special.

- Rena (10/5): Lovely German Märchen Hotel - This hotel is really amazing. In the mountain, suddenly appears a Märchen Hotel. I can imagine this is the best place to escape from the daily life and to relax yourself. Unfortunately, I couldn’t enjoy “Kamin” because I arrived relatively late but this “Kamin” room looks very cozy. I had a dinner there and it tasted great. Breakfast is also fantastic. I stayed there for the business trip but I would love to stay there as private next time. I woke up early in the morning because of the sound from the other room but maybe I am too sensitive for the sound.

I have visited many modern hotels, but I have never seen such an atmosphere. The rooms are clean and spacious with a free mini bar and a comfortable bed. The breakfast was exceptional in a beautiful atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to try the food prepared by top chef Petar. If you are in this part of Germany this hotel is a must visit. -

Quiet and romantic location, beautiful decor, swimming pool, superb breakfast. It's a place which one does not want to leave... Unlike on previous stays, the bedding was rather modest, with just one big pillow, no blanket. Although the rate covered 1-3 guests just one side of the double bed had been prepared for me, the other side was empty and the whole bed seemed somewhat unwelcoming.

- Virginie (1/5): The owners used intimidation and fear to make us pay the abusive bill at check-out!! - We were scared and shocked when we left the hotel after check out. We had a few very disappointed experiences during our week end, especially at the restaurant which was an absolute shame. We complained during our stay but received no signs of understanding , nothing from the hotel was done to fix our issues. At check out, we were charged on top of our stay 8 euros for music at dinner, 45 euros for energy costs, and zero compensation for our horrible dinner ( which we complained from the fist day). We said that it is illegal to charge extra costs on top of the reservation made on Booking .com. The owner came very loud and rude that we must pay our fish (even if it was raw, bad quality and 1h30 waiting) and we must pay the extra charges. Then his wife came screaming at us because we drink the FREE minibar during the weekend, and she wanted to open our luggage to see if we did not take the empty bottles (which we gave to the cleaners). They called 8 people of their staff to go around us at the reception to make pressure on us to pay all, we were scared and in panic. We paid all and left. We immediately contacted Booking.com for help, they refund us the extra costs, and ensure us it is not allowed to do so. The hotel lied to Booking .com, when they called them, they said that we had an upgrade, which is absolutely a lie, we have pictures of our room which are identical as we reserved. The hotel was uncapable of taking a little complain, they defend. they are only focus on money not on the hospitality. They do not act at all like in a 5 stars hotel. We felt so bad, we did not know that we could experience such a scary behavior in an hotel. On top of that, our bed was very uncomfortable. The bar at the hotel was closed. The prices for food and drinks are very very expensive. Communication with management is impossible. The staff at the restaurant is unexperienced and missing training. Unfriendly personal. We came for our wedding anniversary, nothing was done for us.

- Nettchen (10/5): Valentinstag 2016 - Von einem 5 Gang Menü für Verliebte angelockt haben wir dann eine Übernachung mit gebucht. Es war ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt vom Betreten des Hotels bis zum Verlassen. Während wir vor dem großen Kamin in der Lobby mit Sekt verwöhnt wurden, wurde unser Gepäck auf's Zimmer gebracht. Abends war ein Tisch reserviert und mit viel Liebe dekoriert. Das Essen war ein Klasse für sich, genauso wie der Wein und der Champagner. Erst im Restaurant, später in der tollen Hotelbar spielte ein Pianoplayer nahezu perfekt. Die Nacht in totaler Ruhe in der Abgeschiedenheit des Hotels..... Das Frühstück war ebenfalls ein absolutes Highlight, alles was man sich vorstellen kann, lag auf dem Buffet, dazu Eiergerichte auf Wunsch frisch zubereitet. Das kann man nicht besser machen!!!!!!

- Verified traveler (10/5): Romantisches Hotel im Rothaargebirge - Hervorragender Enpfang. Keine lästigen Formalitäten. Man muß sich um nichts kümmern und wird mit Sekt und Brotzeit am Kamin empfangen. Sehr nette, herzliche und authentische Angestellte. Toller Service und eine gaumenfreudige Küche.
