- Rifka (4/5): Failing system for a Hilton - Luxurious Be careful when you are a family with children. The booking system brought me to the king suite, one of most expensive type of room because we're family of 4. However , there was only 1 king bed which is meant tobe shared between 2 people ( adults ) There was a sofa in the room but it's not a sofa bed. The staff i had a chat with on WeChat pre check in did tell us that we, 4 of us are expected to share 1 bed. It's not acceptable. We paid the stay clearly for 2 adults and 2 children, they wanted us to share 1 bed. Why not just give us 2 smaller basic rooms for 2 people each, to accommodate sleeping arrangement decently. After all the fuss, they gave 1 extra single bed. Meaning some people will still have to share bed together. I chose this hotel tobe safe for international standards in rural area. But they failed it.

First and foremost, the views are spectacularly beautiful. Waking up to the breathtaking panorama of Erhai Lake and Cangshan Mountain from my room was worth the trip alone. Everything from the spacious, impeccably clean room with a comfortable bed to the well-equipped gym and the stunning infinity pool reflects the Hilton standard of excellence. It felt luxurious yet welcoming. However, what truly set this stay apart was the outstanding service. The staff went above and beyond at every turn. A special shout-out to the Concierge team! They kindly received and securely held my pre-arrived packages. Furthermore, upon my request, they helped orchestrate a beautiful room surprise decoration for a special occasion. The terrace and the lounges were pleasant to relax and chill The rooms are spacious with a view over the lake and town Breakfast was varied and provided for all tastes. Staff are professional and helpful. Breakfast staff were very busy and even though they worked hard there were not enough staff at breakfast at the peak times For a hotel in this price bracket there could have been a few more generous touches for example a fruit basket and minibar. Basic dining utensils such as a plate and fruit knife in the rooms would’ve been helpful as one cannot travel with a knife due the security checks on the High Speed Rail Wine glasses in the rooms would’ve been also helpful as the rooms were built with these storage facilities. Obviously different occupants have different expectations as family oriented and couple oriented have different requirements

Toilets in the common area need significant improvement and more frequent cleaning. The view in the lobby is great, but the view from the so-called ‘lake view room’ is just a side view of the lake.

The hotel upgraded us to one accessible room as well. The breakfast is nice. The air is good at the hotel and it's near 感通寺. The staff just needs more training when there's a big breakfast crowd due to an event.

The hotel is quite large with good swimming pool, excellent kids play area, co-share working space and delicious buffet breakfast. We upgraded our room and was granted access to the executive lounge. We enjoyed the happy hour drinks and light meals there as well as having the view from high up.

Location wise, it's is located at the foot of Cangshan mountain which offers a very good landscape view of Dali city and lake. Erhai lake can be easily accessed by taxi or Didi around 6-8km away. It is recommended to opt for lake view room as guest can enjoy nice lake view from balcony. Overall room is spacious with super comfortable bed and high end amenities. Executive room comes with executive lounge access which is great as they offer afternoon tea and evening cocktails. Thanks to all executive lounge staff especially Anna for helping me settling my cash deposit during checkout. It such a smooth check in and checkout experience. I will definitely revisit this amazing property in the future.
- Polam (6/5): Horrible experience - The hotel location is excellent near the foot of Cangshan. The property is 10 years old. Looks grand from the photo. However the room is dated. The TV didn't work, even after the engineer came to reset it. The breakfast is mediocre and service lousy. The pool area didn't look clean and the air smelled stale. The front desk receptionists were slow and not customer oriented. We were rejected entry by the restaurant receptionist for breakfast on the second day. The front desk didn't have our room numbers down on their list. After i went up to the front desk to show my reservations, they apologized for the error. Will never go back to another Hilton again.

The location is a little further in from main road, so you would need a transport to get out and get food. The room we got is also further away from main lobby and entrance, so if you order delivery you need to come out from your room. Get to lobby, then to main entrance to pickup your orders/ delivery. Room is comfortable, spacious with bathtub and Crabtree toiletries The balcony we got is a view of Er hai（ 洱海）& Mountain View.

- zhenzhongz2023 (2/5): Do not come to this hotel - The Bailu Dali Shilton Hotel is one of the most disgusting hotels, without a doubt (because the stay was so bad that I didn't even bother taking a picture, here's a screenshot of my hotel reservation to prove that I actually stayed there). 1: I saw a lot of bad reviews before booking, thinking that after all, it's a traditional five-star hotel, it can't be too bad, but I was shocked by their operations, they really are disgusting. 2: A disposable bathtub cover is actually charged! InterContinental and Marriott systems have always provided them for free. It rained in Dali in the afternoon and I got wet, so I wanted to take a bath, but I found that the bathtub was dirty, so I asked the front desk for a bathtub cover, but was told that it would be charged! Totally unacceptable! 3: The lock core of the hotel room door is broken and doesn't lock. 4: To save electricity, the lobby doesn't have air conditioning, it's freezing cold when you enter. 5: The edge of the stool at the end of the bed is too sharp and has no chamfering, it directly bruises the leg, and there's still a big bruise on my leg now. 6: The facilities are old (of course, this is no longer a big deal). In short, don't come to this hotel if you're traveling to Dali. Avoid it like the plague!
- bkoon (10/5): Extremely Professional and Ability to Handle Emergencies when Required - The hotel was tested of their care towards guests and professionalism when things happened. My 77 year old fell when she walked out of the lift. She could be light-headed due to the altitude or could be just an accident. She fell on her head and she couldn't get up from the position. The hotel duty manager came immediately and came with a wheelchair on standby. However, my mum had to be on the lying position as she was unable to shift herself due to the pain. She has a big swell on the back of the head too. We had to go to the hospital as my mum started to vomit due to the hit and the hotel manager swiftly assigned one staff at the Concierge to accompany us to the hospital. The assigned staff was as professional as his manager. His name is Chao Yang and he was there for us every step of the way in the emergency unit of a local hospital. Besides the beautiful hotel that they offer, what our family most apprecaite was really the help that rendered when called for. Kudos to the team at Hilton Dali and we are grateful for the team. Thanks for going all out for my mum and my family.

- Chenguang (2/5): - The location and facility are good. BUT front desk staff Lucky LI (Xiaoting Li)’s service was terrible, I was shocked and I never met such a case. My train departs at 4pm so I requested 2 pm check out which was approved after I talked with room service line, my 4 years daughter stayed with me and my 70 aged parents stayed in another room, we all booked executive sea view rooms for better service. BUT when we come back a little bit after 12 pm we can not open the doors for both rooms so I had to walk to front desk to validate the key, unfortunately after I tried again after validation, the door still couldn’t be opened. We were too tired so we requested to send a staff to help to open, but nothing happened after we waited for a while, then I had to call again to ask the front desk to open for us, due to we tried 3 times already, finally after half an hour waiting outside, we were able to enter into two executive rooms we booked. In addition, before 2pm we received a call front front desk to push us to check out quickly. I can not bear it due to the I am traveling with my 4 years daughter and aged parents, it disturbed all my day. I wish the hotel could understand how bad I feel after I met such a service, especially with my daughter and aged parents waited long time for opening the door.

Your hotel is not in good order and no maintenance is done since it was built. The jacuzzi didn’t work, the kids club is dirty and many things are broken. Mini golf not working, air condition in the room not working. No one spoke a word English despite this is supposed to be a 5 star international hotel.

The large hotel has a fine vista of the Dali lake from its elevated position. This hotel was a little bit isolated so one was dependant upon the hotel's facilities. They were however quite good so no complaints. Room service is a bit weak on selection but food good. Breakfast is excellent with a wide selection. The hotel picked us up at the railway station effeciently and at a reasonable price. The free shuttle bus to the delightful old town was relaible. The heated swimming pool and gym was clean, tidy and complete. As I said a fine hotel.

The restaurant was so good that we changed our plans just to eat every meal there. The location is peaceful and quite but is a bit of a drive from the urban center. I don't mind that since the taxi ride is only about $4-5 USD. Both the hotel and the Dali area are highly recommended.

The restaurants were good although a little expensibe which is to be expected of such restaurant hotels. The main downside is the semi-remote location. It is not convenient to get to shops or restaurants outside the hotel. A shuttle bus is available at regular times to take guests to the ancient tian of Dali and pick them up.
- Samantha (8/5): Over and above customer service by staff - Manager and concierge are particularly helpful whenever we contact them for something. Every other staff who works pass us will greet us politely. It really makes us feel welcomed as honoured guests. The hotel has a car service (RMB$30) to head into the city, however, the service is outsourced to individual drivers (with their own car), resulting in drivers being pushy. Our driver wants us to call him directly for pick up from the city and when I refused (and use hotel's hotline to call for pick us instead), it just so happen that the same driver was sent out to us and we received a call from that driver, claiming that his tyres have gone flat and will not come to pick us up. He later organized for another driver to pick us up. Facilities are pretty standard with the pool a bit worn down. The interior of the rooms (twin lake view room) are well polished but the outdoor corridors that lead to our building and rooms are below 5star standard in design, it feels like a cheaper Chinese 5 star version rather than of international standard.

The only reason I didn't give them full marks in every category is that there seemed to be no control over temperature and the room was a constant 24-25c even when set at 18-20c. I feel a little unfair not giving full marks as we did not complain to the front desk as I was ill the last 2 days and didn't feel like dealing with the effort to resolve. My overall impression is that if had brought it to their attention they would have relocated us or fixed the issue.
