Furniture broken. Breakfast-poor to the limit. The only good point-the location. So if you really care for your wellbeing and your money, choose another hotel.

Air conditioning didn’t work one of the day and night. Very dirty and old , no WiFi.

- Amanda (10/5): Convenient and clean with friendly and supporting staff. - Convenient location, rooms beautifully decorated, staff very helpful with all our requests, especially Ifran and Eren at the front desk. They held our luggages for us after checkout while we went out before our flight. Also very conveniently they provided us with an Istanbulkart which is the card you need for public transport (which naturally you need to return before leaving). We found this very helpful rather than waiting to find out how the system works and they helped us with providing instructions how to top this card up. Breakfast was also good and had a good variety. Lobby and rooms are always clean and tidy.

- Dmitrii (5/5): Passable -
- Faizah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karolina8 (7/5): Good - Not everything was working as expected (due to the issue with the card electricity was turning off), bathroom was too small, always with the water after the shower. Most of the staff does not speak English so it's hard to communicate.
- Anastasiya (7/5): Good -
- Fariz (10/5): Hatice hanima tesekkurler - the location is perfect. Everything was fine. Special thanks to Mrs. Hatice. he was very friendly and positive. The ladies at the room service were very welcoming and pleasant.
- Müvəffəqi (1/5): Very bad stay - Worthless even 10 euro. Very bad smell, dirty room. Everything is old, damaged. Even I booked double deluxe room, they offered us 3 m2 of room, then we complained they changed the room, but still too small.
Breakfasts were very bad, nothing to eat. Totally it is even not 1 star hotel
- Mehdi (10/5): Exceptional - khadijeh at reception was super helpful and kind. She prepared everything smoothly.
Thank you.
- Enisa (9/5): Superb - Good value for money, the staff were so nice and kind whole time. The most important, bad and bad sheets were clean and white, so I was peacefully sleeping. For this money, you even can’t expect that everything in hotel is great, some furniture is old for example, but if you are here to enjoy in Istanbul on a budget, this is hotel for you.
- Salah (9/5): Superb -
- Niksic (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (5/5): Passable - The location was good with a subway connection. The hotel was quiet which is always a bonus. The hotel is dated and shabby. Torn carpeting
Breakfast wasn't great. Left overs from previous day it seemed.
Fixtures and fittings falling off the walls in bedroom.
I booked at the last minute in a panic, there are far better hotels for the same money or slightly more expensive.
- Well (9/5): Superb - We were very pleased with the staff, they were very nice and helpful, we were greeted with a smile. all of the okay
- Omar (10/5): Exceptional - THE HOTEL IS IN A VERY CENTRAL LOCATION, DISTANCE FROM THE GRAND BAZAAR SULTANAHMET YURUME
CLOSE TO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, METRO TRANSPORTATION, WALKING DISTANCE, CAREFUL STAFF, HELPFUL RECEPTION
EROL ARKADAŞ HELPED US A LOT DURING OUR STAY HOTEL AYLECE IS A FACILITY TO STAY IN

- Tarak (2/5): Very poor -
- carolbW7229LM (8/5): Pleasant staff, helpful and accommodating - Pleasant staff, very helpful and accommodating. Good location near university, Şeyhzade Mosque, Beyazit Mosque, and public transport. Local color, nearby restaurants. Breakfast buffet included in room price.
- Noah51 (2/5): Get as far as you can from this place, ( I can’t call it Hotel) - Dirty, ugly, terrible breakfast, very very small toilet and when you take a shower everything is getting wet. you can’t open your door with the card, reception terrible.
Don’t get close to this place.
The room is dark and the TV in not working.
- 571salimh (2/5): Too much bad hotel - Too much dirty rooms very bad smell all over the hotel very bad service internet All time disconnected furniture is old and not clean. Photos posted are very much different from reality. There is no variety on the breakfast menu, it is so poor. Staff are rude and lack experience
- ninasA9690PB (2/5): Enter at your own risk. - I stayed at Hotel Buyuk Hamit for 4 nights. The first thing you notice is that the front entrance has no ramp so you have to carry your luggage up the stairs.
The lobby and overall decoration is very outdated with dirty chairs and tables. The elevators are small and dark with horrendous colors.
The rooms are dirty, with stains on linens, carpets, curtains.. etc and the electric outlets were falling apart. The bathrooms were also dirty with rusty washing basins.
The blankets were haphazardly thrown in the closet and I didn't use them.
The receptionist was unfriendly and he kept looking at his phone when talked to. He looked unprofessional and answered rudely when we first asked about our reservations.
The breakfast was very plain, there was nothing special about it. Cutlery was also (yes, you guessed it) dirty and the tea thermos was disgusting to even look at.
Avoid staying here if you want a decent place to stay in and enjoy Istanbul.
- Bodega32122 (6/5): Nice hotel - I stay at this hotel and i really appreciate the service, the price , the staff and their professionalism and the way they really make you feel welcomed .but there is a problem that some room isnot clean
- 20dadin08 (6/5): Thank you for nice breakfast Nasla. Daniel - This is good hotel. Staf is very good and is beautiful hotel. Wel located. Metro and hisorical monuments is verry close. The muesin wakes you up at sux o'clock. Hotel is well manetch. Receptio was well coming.
- 567giuseppinab (6/5): 4 days in Istanbul - I stayed 4 nights at this hotel it’s not bad because it’s near the metro, tramway and the top attractions of old town.
The staff is polite and they try to assist as much as they can even if they can’t speak English, but you must get used to this in Turkey.
Rooms can be ranked as 3 star hotel in Europe standards and I couldn’t find any big issue, so the price it’s worth.
One remark about the breakfast: it’s not continental, you won’t find any backed food, only Turkish dishes, such as cheese, vegetables, olives and pickles.
- f0ziaf (4/5): Outdated - We booked our holiday via an agent and wanted to be near the blue mosque, unfortunately which happened to be 30 min walk away. The first floor of the hotel is falling apart and very outdated, however when upgraded to 3rd floor it was much better, more spacious but still has an old rusty style bathroom, limited cupboard space, no tea facility in room. We were half board but the food is repetitive and only the curry changes, very boring. Reception staff are not familiar with their surroundings to give advise on sightseeing etc. If your on a budget and not planning to eat in the hotel then it's worth it. However not one i would recommend at all.
- WorldVoyager (10/5): The Most Romantic Room In Istanbul!! - If you are tired of the same old cookie-cutter style modern hotel rooms and want something romantic and beautiful - than this is the hotel for you! We stayed for three nights in this wonderful hotel right in the heart of the Fatih district in Istanbul.
We arrived late at night and the hotel staff were very helpful and took all of our bags up to our room and parked our rental car for us.
Our room was the Royal Suite and was huge. A big king-sized bed and a sofa couch that I believe would pull out to be an extra bed too. All of the furnishings were simply gorgeous and gave the room a very romantic feel.
The bathroom was equally as large with a big spa tub with jets, just perfect after a day of walking through the city exploring the sites.
It was only a 25 minute walk to the Grand Bazaar or Hagia Sophia and we felt very safe walking in the area at night to explore the many cafes and restaurants in the vicinity.
The staff was extremely helpful though only a few spoke English. One night they brought up a birthday cake for my girlfriend and sang happy birthday for her - they were just so nice!
Our room came with the half-board plan, which meant that we had dinner and breakfast included. The dining room is quite large as well and the choices at the buffet were plentiful with a great mix of western and Turkish dishes to choose from.
I was sad to read about some of the poor reviews that this hotel received as our stay was truly wondrous. We found the hotel clean and well-maintained and the staff were very friendly and bent over backwards to make sure that we were well served.
The only complaint I would have is that the noise from outside can be a little much at times, and the Prince's Mosque across the street does have the call to prayer quite loud but there aren't too many places in Istanbul that you could stay without hearing that,
I can not recommend this hotel enough - we will definitely be staying there again on our next long visit to Istanbul!
- qudslana12 (2/5): Büyük Hamit hilton - It was my first visit to turkey, and we have had a reservation in this hotel by the travel agency, when we arrived at the hotel we were shocked, they gave us a room for 3 persons it was okey for me and my friend , it was dirty, the bath room very dirty, tomorro when we returned to the hotel , we found that they changed it and gave us a smaller one it was so small and dertier , they took our bagage without asking permission , and they lost my phone charger i informed the receptionist but he did'nt do any thing, lost for ever, one day i have asked the old receptionist if he had seen my friend and his reaction was manerless , cruel, without answring me and without even looking me he lifted his hand in a violent attitude, as if to say dont bother me, In all my trips i have never seen such rustic , churlish reception staff , and such small dirty rooms. The only thing good is the location of this hotel , however the days and nights in this hotel goe penderous , it makes you wish to stay outside as long as you can , preventing you from taking the rest you need.
- panciucd (2/5): The WORST hotel EVER! AVOID IT! - Extremely dirty rooms, blood stains on sheets, very dirty towels, very bad smell, not helpfull personal, the windows are not closing properly etc.
Avoid this hotel because it is the worst i have ever seen. What they present are probably very old photos pf the hotel. Now, everything is very, very dirty!
- karem722 (10/5): great place to stay - I've been their @2013 i like the place
staff were so friendly even if you didn't mention any friendly emotions
only thing is they have to speak English
only one man in the reception could speak English
BTW i like them all i wish i could go their again
- walid50 (6/5): Not a 5 star hotel - We booked this hotel through booking.com on 21st November which shows the hotel is 5 stars, when we arrived it looks like 2 stars hotel and as we have booked there was no way to cancel the booking. We struggled with the reception to get a good room as he showed us very smal rooms but eventually we got large rooms.
The rooms are clean, the breakfast was very good, but the dinner was not to the level.
The suff were helpful. I believe it is the mistake of booking.com that shows 5 stars
- mohamedk694 (8/5): Good - it was my first time to turkey and i jope t will not be the last
i like the hotel its good for muslim ppl specially no alchols no forigners most of the vistors comes from the middle east arabian countries
i oike the food and they were so accurate about the openning of breakfast and dinner
i like that the only problem to me is the tea turkiesh tea is yukky i hate it 😲 .
ah
i got reservTiont for double bed room i got only small sofa they call it bed meh.
and full of turkiesh channels satalite i hatevthat to
- 126katerinaz (2/5): Desappointed - Not recommended - The room was very beautiful. I made a reservation for a big, double bed and there was I small double bed and a single bed. From the window was getting cold air all the time, and even there was heat, the half room was cold and the other half very hot.The bathroom was very dirty, there ware hairs in the washbasin and soap in the shower. In the price was included half-board. The food was poor and not so tasty, the buffet was not filled in all the time.
- MaxHannan (6/5): Nice hotel with friendly staff - I think this hotel has aspiration of grandeur that it doesn't quite meet but that is no bad thing. The rooms are perhaps a bit small but the beds are comfy and come with a fridge and TV. We had a room facing the mosque so the call to prayer was a trifle loud but I think that is true anywhere! The bathroom came with the usual complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. The shower was hot and powerful. We only stayed for one night and did not eat in the restaurant.
The staff on the desk spoke good English and were helpful. We were meant to be up early for a flight and this was obviously passed along to the night clerk because when we overslept he rang our room to wake us up, had a bellboy ready to get our luggage and helped us find a taxi ASAP! The only thing that was a bit annoying was there was no instructions in the room in English except for the mini-bar prices. So we couldn't work the TV or find out the wifi password without going down and asking. I'm not sure they have that many English guests, we did not se any when we were there. Also they have the smallest but prettiest lifts I have ever seen!
- MahagnaS (2/5): under uverage - I m,ake my reservation after my relativ advice that stay in this hotel for 4 nights last year >
when i arrive to the horel and got my room ( trible room with 3 beds ) i realised that the rooms and the hotel are under average the rooms are too small and not really cleen i saw real jockes under the fregerator and the capenet in trible room is really tiny for three persons with small dimentions ( 40x45x100 Cm WDH).
the hotel liying in good aria for trading and hestorical attractions but after 8 clock at evening the aria is really dying and have no attraction like taksim area.
