Guest Reviews
- Paul (10/5): Good choice by the Causeway - We have stayed here a number of times. They have a number of rooms, varying in size and degree of amenities. It is a big house. The location is peaceful and quiet. It is relatively convenient, but could be difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area. The cooked breakfast is good, but only served until 8:30. The hosts are friendly and welcoming.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - When we arrived there was no one around, but there were 3 vehicles in the driveway. Called out hello at both doors with no response. Finally a woman came, looking surprised to see us. I introduced myself and she asked if I knew what room I had booked. She seemed confused, then called her husband who seemed to know where we should be. We had booked 2 bedrooms with a balcony. Not what we got! 2 beds, yes, but one room, and definitely no balcony! Not as advertised at all.
In the bedroom, the bedspreads and pillow shams were stained and smelly. Dust on surfaces. I dropped a shirt on the floor, and when I picked it up, it was all dusty. Bathroom fan didn't work. One box of kleenex and one wastebasket. No clocks. Only one face cloth between the 3 of us.
Owners had 2 dogs, which wasn't on the website. Also kids were playing and screaming in the yard, obviously not guests. Grandchildren perhaps?
Other B&Bs we've stayed in are professionally run. This one felt like we were staying with elderly relatives. Breakfast was good - eggs made individually to order. The owners tried to be friendly.
The man chatted with us after breakfast, and seemed nice.
Would not stay there again and would not recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location, very clean, comfortably bed. Breakfast was adequate eggs were cooked really well but cereal selection was very poor, some had run out altogether. Owner was very friendly.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Our room was very clean and comfortable. Sandy the owning was very friendly and informative.
- wayne (8/5): - Nice place to stay; upstairs was hot as air conditioner did not cool down the room quickly
- Phyllis (8/5): Pleasant stopover in Port Hawksbury - Had a lovely room, king bed, very comfy plus a sofa, rocking chair. Room4 very quiet and private. Nice bathroom with shower and spa tub. No one there when we arrived but they left us a key and cell phone number which they promptly answered, plus a sheet of instructions. Interior of house impeccable, exterior rather cluttered. Plenty of parking in back. Breakfast eggs to order, sausages, toast, juice, coffee or tea plus a choice of cereals. Hosts very accommodating. Ice, fridge, microwave all available off guest sitting room. TV and wifi good.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Sandy was a great host. Facility was in great condition. Great value in the perfect location for us.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owner, Sandy and the housekeeper and cook, Donna were very kind and helpful and made our stay a very pleasant one.
The King-size bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very delicious and filling with a lovely setting where we met and dined with others from other provinces and the States. We enjoyed the little dog, Bejou as well.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - COMFORT. Privacy. A welcoming place. Thoughtful hosts
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Il fesait 29 degre dans la.chambre, aucune air climatisée. Changement de chambre lorsque nous annulons notre reservation. Inadéquat pour la.temperature. le personel tres courtois malgre la situation.
- Beverley (8/5): - Comfortable room (minus a/c). Friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Would most likely stay there again.
- Denise (8/5): - Owner was not there when we arrived but was very accommodating once he got there. We were able to get into our rooms before he arrived. Great room. Good breakfast cooked by owner himself. Very family oriented. Fairly quiet.
- Tim (6/5): - Disappointing
- Derek (10/5): - Sandy and Theresa were very friendly and hospitable. The room was perfect for the 4 of us with a queen/king bed and double bed. Room was very clean and everything on great condition. Lots of parking. It’s in a little subdivision court and it’s the owners house. But the entrance is such that you really aren’t walking through their living areas so it’s fine. Breakfast was amazing. Perfectly prepared eggs and delicious French toast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very good experience. Friendly, informative and personable man. It felt like home. Very quiet area.
- Joseph (10/5): The place to stay - Was a really pleasant place to stay, so friendly and helpful, will defiantly stay there again. A little expensive though
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Helpful host but this property is part B&B and part boarding house, it seems to us
- Allison (8/5): - Nice suite with jetted tub in bathroom. Large room with king bed and good linens.
- Terry (8/5): Convenient stopover - House is in a residential area, front of the house could do with a gardener to tidy up the entrance area. But once inside the property the owner was very helpful and very pleasant, all was clean and tidy our room was large with a king and double bed. The breakfast was good. All in all I would book again.
- Laura F (10/5): Convenient, historic home. - Wonderful old house in a great location with super hosts and delicious breakfast. We had a suite with king bed, sitting room, bath, refrigerator and more.
- James Bruce (10/5): - Awesome facilities and great friendly hosts. Willie and Gina are wonderful.
- Batman (10/5): - We arrived late in the evening, but all our needed information was waiting on the front door. The room was excellent and had all the required needs.
- Jane (8/5): - Our bedroom was very comfortable, quiet, and clean. Breakfast was hearty and good.
- Donald (10/5): - Staff & Facilities were top notch, very comfortable and inviting
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very clean, roomy and nicely appointed room however I Didn’t appreciate that they neglected to inform their guests that they have a dog. An issue for me as I am allergic. The piping in the laundry room directly behind our room and headboard was incredibly noisy. The “bath towels” were more like hand towels and there wasn’t a hair dryer. Breakfast was served at 7:30... a bit early for those of us on vacation. First time we’ve ever had to get up that early at a B&B for breakfast. Not a restful stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Quiet area. Owner was not physically there for check in.
- Michelle (8/5): - Nice property. Breakfasr was plain, but doable. We had a nice upper room and was quite nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent room and breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): Clean, comfortable and reasonable. - Clean, comfortable and reasonable.

- Mindy (8/5):
Warm and friendly - Sandy was very helpful with any question we had. Breakfast was delicious.Definitely recommend it as a stop while touring Nova Scotia.
- Eric (8/5): - Nice B&B, Sandy and company very accommodating. Breakfast was great.
- Darcy (8/5): - We arrived in the dark at 21:45 and not a light on outside or inside. After stumbling around in the dark we made into our room which was comfortable and quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was spacious and nice and clean and comfortable, and also quite, The owner of the home was very friendly and helpful. He tried his best to make us feel welcome.
- Doug (8/5): Good stopover - Very comfortable bed, good room and breakfast. Great dinner at Millers Pub. Not all that much in the area. Stores don't open until 10 on Sunday so couldn't pick up supplies for lunch before departure.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet environment in a residential area. Good hot breakfast. Large spacious room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice, clean place to stay - Easy to check in Owner was nice to talk to, and breakfast was excellent. Stay here.
- Sandy (10/5): Great rooms - Rooms are large and very nice. Good breakfast. Nice common sitting room. Quiet. Would recommend.
- stephen (10/5): Good B&B - Very good comfortable friendly B&B. Good breakfast options. Good Wifi.
- Abram (10/5): A comfortable, well kept place to stay - I appreciated being met by the owner when we arrived. The place served an excellent breakfast, had lots of parking and good WiFi service. He also helped us to find another place to stay in for the following night (he was full).
- Verified traveler (8/5): Close to highway - Nice rooms, homemade breakfast but only one toast with eggs. (did not ask for seconds). Comfy beds. We only stayed one night, came late and left early. Large rooms..Common sitting area. Good hosts. All in all it was very nice
- Kathy (8/5): - We had a wonderful room, and the neighborhood was so quiet!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice neighborhood house - Very nice room with king size bed and Jacuzzi bathtub… Plus close to a great restaurant!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very pleasant stay - Feel quite at home. The staff are friendly and professional. Everything is good, the bed, food, spacious and comfortable room and cleaness... We quite enjoy the stay!!
- Michael (8/5): Nice little gem! - This B&B is a great little gem. Our suite was spacious and comfortable. The washroom had both a jacuzzi tub and stand alone shower. Breakfast was individually made and very good. They even made breakfast for me to take back up to the room for my sleeping wife!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice place to overnight on our way to driving the Cabot Trail. Breakfast was especially good!
- Ken (10/5): Clean and comfortable B&B - The property, which appears to be fairly new, is located on a quiet residential cul-de-sac just off the highway running through town. Although the proprietor was not home when we arrived, he left complete check-in instructions and a cell phone number to reach him. No problem, everything was in order. The sitting room and bathroom were well-equipped and everything worked fine, including TV and wi-fi. Bathroom was spotless. Instructions were left as to breakfast. We were joined at breakfast by 3 other couples. It was a full English breakfast, efficiently and courteously served, with fruit juice, cereal, crisp bacon with eggs cooked to order, toast, and choice of coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
- Phillip (2/5): Not a typical B&B experience. - First B&B. Lovely home but it is in a neighborhood setting. Nothing special like we had always pictured a B&B. Just a regular home like staying with a relative. Truly a disappointment for us in that sense. No one to greet us, just notes posted on the front door with instructions. Met owner the next day for breakfast. Would not return if in area again.
