• Verified traveler (8/5): Good service - There is no king bed available in the hostel although we booked for a king bed room. Apparently there is new ownership who tried to inform expedia of the mistake but they were not successful. However we were upgraded to a bigger room as compensation. The service was excellent. The property may need a bit of upgrade especially when the toilet didn’t flush too well. There was a rooster crowing at 4am every morning. If you are a light sleeper, please request for a room with your windows away from the rooster. Overall, the stay was ok.

La seule avec de la vraie pression qu'on ait eue en 1 mois au Pérou ! Petit déj bon sans plus (fruit, céréales, thé , café, oeuf). Bon emplacement loin du bruit des klaxons mais bruit de la rivière permanent. Eau chaude le matin mais le soir c'était tiède pour nous. Personnel très aidant pour les conseils restos et pour rejoindre aguas calientes/Machu Picchu pueblo
• Maria (4/5): Is a house not an hotel!! - don't be scammed, this is not a hotel is a house, and really uncomfortable, no tv in the room, no phone, my room was in front of the river and the sound was really loud, the breakfast horrible, far away from the center. I would not recommend it.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful Town - Nice hotel - We stayed in Ollantaytambo for 2 nights. This hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. It had a nice bathroom and the water was hot. It is a short walk into the city center but that was no problem for us. I felt very safe here and really loved this city. If you are looking for a fantastic restaurant to eat at the El Albergue restaurant was amazing. It is located in the train station but the food was so good. Miguel took very good care of us. It is a farm to table type restaurant. Miguel took my son over to the farm and showed him where they grow everything. A very fun night out.

Ruth is very, very helpful...set up tours and transportation for us. The setting is nice along the stream and on the outskirts of Ollantaytambo. Convenient to train station, shopping and restaurants.

My room had a great view! It's a couple of minutes walking from the main plaza, but it seems very safe to walk . The staff was very NICE! I recommend it!

• Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful hotel on the river! - Munay Punku was such a great place to stay. Our room was facing the ruins and the river noise just outside our window was awesome for sleeping. The beds are comfortable and shower hot. The staff was very helpful and arranged a tour with a private taxi for the day to nearby attractions. They also offer laundry service at a reasonable price. It's about a 10min walk to the center of town. If you like being away from noise and love quiet this place is perfect! Thanks for a lovely stay!

• arthur (4/5): search for better - Hi, I would of liked to give this hotel atleast 3 stars but I could not after tallying pros and cons: 1) upon check in we notified desk clerk we needed a cab 6:45 am and breakfast by 615. We were told that was to early. Fine it was early so we came down at 640 and breakfast was all set up for someone sense. Huh??? Yeah figure that one out 2) returned from climbing machu pichu mountain 7 pm exhausted to find gatr locked no one home. Knocked outside for 15 minutes before had to get someone in group to climb fence and unlock. I mean really what the heck plus there was a kid left unattended in bedroom behind front desk. 3) upon checking out i paid with a credit card. They tacked on a 4% fee. This was not listed in their ad as well as not communicated at check out. We had sufficient cash we could of used. 4) its far literally last hotel. Which was not completely horrivle as one of pros was the river behind hotel. 5) pillows hard as rocks Pro: 1) cheap cold drinks and snacks for purchase 2) river that ran behind 3) very clean

• Bruce e (10/5): Comfortable and Modern in Ancient City - This was a jewel in our trip through the Sacred Valley. Ollantaytambo is a wonderful stop in the valley and Munay Punku allows you to embrace this Inca village. We could see the ruins in the distance from our room and the short stroll down the narrow lanes between the stone buildings, to the town square was a treat that I repeated many times just for the wonder that it provided. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Prior to our arrival, they arranged a taxi to transport us from Cusco and stop at sites along the way. The room was modern and comfortable and quite charming. Its at the top of my list for any return trip.

The staff was wonderful, helping us check in smoothly, and gave us a map to the local area. Overall, a great experience and I would recommend them to others.
• 60y-old tourist (10/5): Nice home base for touring the sacred valley - Clean, comfortable rooms. The hotel staff were friendly & accommodating. Continental-style breakfast was tasty & satisfying. Hot showers. This hotel met our needs: a place we could come back to for a good night's sleep after a full day of outings in the sacred valley.
• Birgit (10/5): Comfortable stay in Ollantaytambo - For the 50USD we paid, we three got all the things you would expect like - good communication upfront including organisation of a taxi that picked us up from the airport for 110 Soles (a cheaper option would be to catch a collectivo) - very friendly staff (Emre) who gave us excellent tips - good breakfast with eggs - en-suite bathroom and a spacious and clean sleeping room with two comfortable beds (good peaceful sleep) - location was good for walking to Pumamarca but also ok for the other ruins of Ollanta and to the train to Aguas Calientes
• Verified traveler (10/5): Nice and comfortable - Good location in a beautiful city. A bit of a walk from the train but a pleasant walk. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Not always hot water, but Internet was great. Nice size rooms, very clean and beds were comfortable.

It appear that locals are aware that is a hotel and were constantly making noise. Over priced for the condition of hotel. Bring ear plugs to help reduced the noise to get a good night sleep.
• Ivo (8/5): - Very nice hotel, owned by a lady (Ruth) that really cares about her guests. She is always there, she can answer any questions you may have. She was able to arrange for a taxi to pick me up in Cusco and take me to a few attractions. The price was good, the driver prompt and I didn't have to deal with the taxi drivers at the airport trying to rip you off anytime they can. I will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay a couple of nights in Ollantaytambo.
• Karen (10/5): Clean and roomy B&B. Very friendly owners! - We checked in and ound out that the in tire town had no electricity. Not the B&B's fault. It is a common occurrence in Ollantaytambo/Sacred Valley area. The owners greeted us with smiles and their English was very good! Rosa's husband took our bags up to the 2nd floor and what a view we had! A very generous sized room that was bright and airy.Very modern bathroom with large walk in shower. Heater and blow dryer was supplied. We asked for a suggestion for a lunch spot and was told Puka Rumi Restaurant. They called a tuktuk (3 wheeled cab) for us and for S/. 6.00 we were driven to the restaurant even though we could of walked but after a 2 1/2 hour train ride (stopped a lot), we were pooped. LOL. After lunch we returned and about 2pm the electricity was back on. We took a nap and then walked to town. You ring the bell at the heavy front door to get in which was nice. We felt very safe and secure. Breakfast the next morning was buffet style with freshly picked fruit, cereals, eggs, bread, butter, jam, juice, teas and coffee. Free tea throughout the day in the lobby. This is a family owned B&B and it was very obvious that they take pride in what they are doing. Everything was spotless and the other guests we met from Chile seemed to be just as satisfied as we were. Free wifi too! We look forward to returning again in the future.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - This is definitely a very nice place to stay! The owners Ruth and her husband are very nice, you will get an email with information about available pick ups from Cusco airport or from the train station as well. The hotel is not located at the center of the town but this in my opinion is only an advantage. You will not have a lot of traffic, no constant honking from the cars or policemen whistling because of regulating the traffic through a one lane street. There is a river behind the house which depending on the month makes some noise but it is a constant noise and I found it relaxing and not disturbing. They have a small garden in the back with a bench close to the river and a garden in the front as well. There are 2 small shops in a 1 minute walking distance and one of three restaurants serving traditional Peruvian dishes in a 4min walking distance. To go to the main square it will take you no longer than 8minutes. To the train station it is about 15min. I can definitely recommend this place!
• Guillermo (6/5): Pretty location but far from town - Stayed for one night on our way to Aguas Calientes. The room was quite large and comfortable, with a nice view over the river. The wifi didn't reach our room (and the building is not large) and there is no tv, so bring a book or you can borrow one from their bookshelf. We had no hot water during our stay, which was a complaint from all guests. When we informed their staff, they tried to tell us it worked fine and that the other guests told them it was fixed, which was not the case. After a few minutes discussion they kindly gave us a discount, which was appreciated. They did provide nice information about what to do in the area. The location is far from the centre, which can be an uncomfortable walk at night.
• Bongyeol (8/5): All in all, it was very pleasant.. - The host family was very friendly and helpful. It's on the edge of the town. The main road into the town was a little dusty and well-trafficked however there is a charming cobbled stoned street that leads to the main square. It is a short cut, too.

Hotel has excellent breakfast in the morning, clean and nice. though this hotel is a slight walk from the main plaza, its highly recommended.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Si vas a llegar en auto, no te fíes del GPS! - El personal es muy amable. Sin embargo la ubicación que aparece registrada en Google maps está muy mal y te aleja kms del lugar. Duramos perdidos bastante tiempo y por ser de noche fue una experiencia de terror. El hostal no tiene estacionamiento y el desayuno que ofrecen lo comienzan a ofrecer un poco tarde. (Considerando que la gente casi siempre toma temprano el tren a Machu Picchu)
• Nikole (8/5): Amazing bathroom a walk away from the Center. - We needed a place to crash before taking an early train to Machu Picchu the next day. The room was very affordable and the owner was extremely nice and helpful. She gave good recommendations for where to eat. The view from the window was beautiful. The mountains were so close to you. The bathroom was HUGE and great water pressure. My only con to the room was that the hotel was located a 8 minute walk from the center. At night, there weren't many lights along the road.
• Verified traveler (10/5): This is an unknown place in an less known city - I think it is the best advise not to stay at cuzco. The munay punko nicely send us a taxi to cuzco to pick us up at very reasonable price. It is better to stay 2 days in ollyntambo to climatize, then get a train ticket to macho picho and or go on trail. Ollayntambo is the best preserved city in sacred valley. It has history and two major ruins to see which one of them is free. The two restaurants recommended by muny punk are the best. The hotel is little paradise with view to mountain and corn field and with continuous sounds of river adjacent to the place. Ruth speak very good English and has wealth of information. She can organize tour or car or give you the best advise. The 2nd floor has a bookshelf with three books about peru and sacred valley with lots of information. The breakfast is great. Do not drink alcohol and drink coca tea until you climatize that was the best advise that we followed and worked well
• Katie (6/5): Okay Hostel - I will start by saying - I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend only because of the troubles finding it, and how out of the center of town it was. The hostel itself offered great views, but getting there was a bit of a problem. The locals had not heard of the hostel, so before you head there, make sure that you know exactly where you are going. The hostel is set a bit outside of the center of town. The room itself was nice, as was the staff. Ollantaytambo is a buggy city, and they bugs did get into the room. The WiFi did not work, which was a down side, as I did not purchase an international phone, so WiFi was what I used for communication and ensure I knew where to go. I was there when it was cold, and they offered plenty of blankets.
• Priscila (10/5): Superou as expectativas! Recomendo - Esse hotel superou nossas expectativas. O hotel é simples e muito novo, as cerâmicas do banheiros são novíssimas e o chuveiro esquenta rápido. Ficamos em um quarto triplo e as camas além de confortáveis estavam arrumadas com edredons super macios. Nosso quarto tinha uma janela bem grande e com vista para o rio, o barulho da água correndo é algo a mais na estadia (sensacional). Havia disponível todo o tempo chá de coca e variados. O café da manhã foi feito sob medida, com pão, presunto, queijo, ovos mexidos, frutas cortadas e descascadas, café, leite e chá. Tivemos dificuldade em encontrar o hotel porque o mapa disponível no hoteis.com está errado e nos levou a outra rua, mas a localização é boa, apenas 10 minutos de caminhada da praça principal. Recomendo!
• Chantal (8/5): Charming hostal - Charming hostal in Ollantaytambo. We were traveling as a family of four and we were very comfortable in a room with a double and two twins. The service was great and hotel was clean. We made arrangements with Ruth, before leaving on our trip, to purchase our tickets to Machu Picchu. She also arranged to have box lunches ready for us in the morning before we left for Machu Picchu. Everything was perfect. This hostal is well located, just a five minute walk to the Plaza de Armas.

• Debbie (8/5): Total value for money! - This hotel should be at least a 3 star as it exceeded all my expectations. The double bed I got was comfortable with lots of blankets to keep warm, fresh flowers in the room, lots of fluffy towels and the best shower I've had in south America with hot water and consistent strong pressure. Breakfast was lots of freshly cut fruit (even halved and deseeded grapes), granola, yoghurt, bread and freshly cooked eggs. It was a ten minute walk to the town centre but even as a solo female traveler, I felt safe walking at night. The only grouse I have is that the Wi-Fi didn't reach the 3rd floor, but Wi-Fi is spotty in that area anywhere anyway. The hotel even arranged for a cab to the Cusco airport for me.
