Guest Reviews
- Allain (10/5): Great location - Very friendly staff, great location just outsdide StJohn's and close to touristic sites.
- Holly (10/5): -
- Al (8/5): This lodging met all our expectations - Friendly staff. Comfortable bed and adequate amenities
- Daniel (10/5): Great location for Bay Roberts, Brigus, Cupids, etc.! - Randy was Great!
He heard why I was in town and immediately went through the library to find me a souvenir of Capt. Bob Bartlett and the Morrissey and gave it to me. He was so kind! If I had a chance to stay more than 3 nights!
- Kevin (7/5): Friendly host, central location. - The host was very friendly and the location fit our travel plans just right. We did not eat at the restaurant because it was not open. The place needs some updating especially in the bathrooms. The bed was old but ok. Seems like there were some upgrades done, just need more :)
- David (10/5): Highly recommend staying at Silverwood Inn if you need accommodations in the area. - Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Staff was outstanding, friendly and always quite with a joke. Thank-you Randy & Janice. Nothing
- Chris (8/5): -
- Renard (8/5): -
- Junko (10/5): - Friendly and kind owner. Overall atmosphere was warm, old-fashioned and nice. Other guests seemed friendly, too. The room was spacious and comfortable. Complimentary coffee and they gave us light breakfast, too. We enjoyed the stay.
- Jia (10/5): - Very cool
- Jose Mari (8/5): - The hotel is very nice, but it needs renovation. The breakfast needs improvement.
- Shannon (7/5): - Nice sized rooms. Comfortable beds. Too far out of St. John’s
- Karyn (9/5): - The host are wonderful, the room was perfect and the beds were comfortable. They also have a wonderful restaurant and serve great meals for lunch and dinner.
- linda (2/5): - This hotel is so old and is in desperate need of a gut job! The beds are old, furniture is old. It seems it is meant as a hunting lodge for a bunch of hunters to stay in. One good thing is that the coffee pot is always on if that’s your thing. Way too expensive for what you get. We were just too tired to go look for something else, we actually didn’t see any other lodging in the area. Don’t waste your money here!
- Mary (2/5): - It was so dirty, toilets, bathtub, floors etc,I took lots of pics, when you were looking for the owner he was at the pub in the hotel drinking..bad experience all the way around
- Mary (7/5): Comfortable and quiet. - Easy to find, wonderful staff, quiet. Comfortable beds, lots of parking. Restaurant not open on Mondays and Tuesdays. No in- room coffee. No ice bucket or large ice machine. No snack shop.
- Gaye (8/5): - It was like a nice hostel. Shared bathrooms.
- Colleen (10/5): - You don't stay here with expectations of grandeur. You stay here for home cooked food, amazing Newfoundland hospitality and some of the most real people you will ever meet.
- Debbie (8/5): - Old facility!
- jessica (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely like to stay there again someday😊
- Tracey (9/5): -
- Jason (8/5): - Old place but kept clean. Did what we needed it to do; clean place to sleep for one night.
- Sarah (10/5): - The staff were super friendly, rooms were large and clean, food was delicious
- Deanna (10/5): - Comfy bed. Big room. Wish I'd had more time to hang out and explore.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - The host was very helpful with advice on where to go and what to do in the area. The restaurant serves up excellent home cooked meals. The place has a real welcoming, down to earth atmosphere about it, and the location is great. I highly recommend the Silverwood Inn All good
- Dennis (5/5): Passable -
- Margaret (9/5): Superb - This is like a quaint Inn with a personal touch for guests.
- Steve (8/5): - The hotel is quite dated near the rooms. The owner was really nice and advised it is really hard to get staff but that really didn't explain why the bathroom door would not close. The entrance was beautiful and they are working on parts of the hotel but need to do more.
- Blaine (10/5): - Loved the hosts !
- Gary (10/5): - Very happy with the owner and staff.
- Bell (7/5): Cozy down home - It had that feel of home. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. It was peaceful. The bed was hard.

- Charlene (7/5): Location was good, room wasn’t cleaned thoroughly but it was off season, a bit pricey - Location was good Cleanliness of the room
- victoria (4/5): - Property has not been kept up and breakfast and dining room closed during winter months. Rooms are bare bones and outdoor property is littered with junk.
Would not return.
- Barry (8/5): - Owner was hands on and was very nice to have him there.
- Greg (5/5): Good for one night when other alternatives are not available - breakfast was just a bagel---the gentleman Randy who owns the place is very friendly and ws helpful in telling us of some different places to go that are off the beaten path----He seems a very kind man but is a bit in over his head with the motel----and yea--breakfast was mediocre it feels like you are stepping back into the 1950s----The whole place could use a make over and some paint, but the staff was friendly---and the beds ok----so what the heck

- Keith (8/5): Very good -
- Ronnie (9/5): Superb -
- Cathy (10/5): - Friendly Atmosphere. Got to know staff. Helpful with local attractions. Rooms were huge. We were there on a Sunday so got to try a homestyle jiggs meal. Great start to our vacation.
- Darlene (8/5): - The room was clean and the staff was friendly but the times that the diningroom was open was limited.
- Margo (9/5): Superb -
- Dianne (8/5): - It's an odd little property for sure but it's loaded with character and the people who work there are delightful. Our room had two big armchairs in addition to the beds (very "mom and pop" vibe). There's a cute little vestibule and a big seating area in the lobby with chairs and couches and books to read. They keep the coffee on (or will put a pot on for you). It's very quaint with a real Newfoundland vibe. We loved it. There's not much of interest in the immediate area but enough places to get food so it's convenient for that. It's a good jumping off point for visiting local attractions. We would stay there again.
- Shirley (6/5): - Was an average motel. No AC in rooms. Could hear doors slamming shut, not very quiet. Beds were older and hard. Restaurant didnt serve breajfast. Owners were friendly though. Would probably not stay here again..
- Steve (5/5): A little expensive for the room compared to others -
- Richard (10/5): Wonderful little inn - Thus was our very best hotel experience on our trip. The staff and owners were wonderful.
- Len (8/5): - Friendly staff and close to the tournaments held in the area
- Celia (10/5): - Very helpful, pleasant owners.
Well appointed handicapped room - lots of grab bars in the bathroom.
- Ethel (10/5): - Staff are obliging and friendly, outside is being renovated with log siding, inside is clean and cosy, rooms are large with air conditioners, we enjoyed our stay.
- Cecil (5/5): It was adequate but certainly not five star. - Continental Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and informative The blinds need replacement they did not close properly and did not give the privacy needed.
