Guest Reviews
- Horton (7/5): -
- Andrew (1/5): Never would recommend to anyone - I made a reservation online and when I got to the property I was going to be charged a deposit. I was then charged for my room again. I called and they told me that my money would be back on my card within 5 to 7 business days Staff’s attitude

- Susan (7/5): it was good. - we didnt eat breakfast at the motel. the TV remote wouldn't work at all . I had trouble figuring out the air conditioner.
- Ryan (4/5): Eh… - Good central location in town. We were there for a softball tournament and booked for 6 days. Room was decent for the price.
The owners/managers were decent/polite to deal with. The room was never restocked with clean towels or linens. We asked for a clean towel and were told it would be brought later. Several hours later we received 1 towel, 1 hand towel, and 1 wash cloth for our family. One of the towels appeared to have a mold spot on it.
We asked for garbage bags, never received them.
Our kids team was out of the tourney a day early and we asked for the one day to be refunded and were told no.
There was limited parking. I asked to park in their “visitor” spot and was told no. The owners/managers then proceeded to wash their car in that spot and left the car parked there for a few hours.
- Cody (5/5): -
- Jackie (9/5): -
- Fergus (9/5): - Charming neighborhood, friendly staff, classic Americana.
- Frances (8/5): Good slept well - No breakfast Fan in restroom didn’t work to hot, no circulation in there
- august (10/5): - It was great! I had a good couple of nights! Quiet and comfortable!
- Clifford (6/5): Housekeeping, it’s time to check out - The lady at the counter was hard to understand but friendly. She said check out was at 10:30 even tho the website states 11:00. At 10:00 am, I had a knock on my door for housekeeping. Why is housekeeping knocking when I was staying one day and it wasn’t even after check out time yet. Just not the most pleasant experience but not horrible either.
- Christopher (2/5): - Terrible hotel. Beds are uncomfortable and stained need a refund
- Karen (6/5): - Expedia should make proprietors aware of customers' specific requests so they can be responded to appropriately.
We were disappointed our ground floor request couldn't be fulfilled and settled for 5 steps up at the rear.
- Mary (6/5): - The Property needs more improvements. the cable and TVs
- Jaymie (5/5): Not too bad - The room was clean. Had a nice shower, but would have preferred bath tub. Way out of the way. Hard to find. Half a roll of toilet paper in the room, had to go to front desk to get more. TV wasn't working, had to have them fix that as well.
- Kyle (10/5): - Friendly staff. Clen room. Sheets smelled great. Close to food and drink.
- Brianna (1/5): - Nothing
- Beverley (10/5): - The room was very clean and modern for an older building. The beds were very comfortable and room quiet considering how close we were to train tracks. I was surprised I did not hear my neighbors which was a bonus.
The Staff were very nice and efficient during our check in. I felt very safe and comfortable walking to dinner which was close by. The surrounding neighborhood was older but very well maintained. I would recommend and definitely stay again if I’m in the area.
- Julia (6/5): Clean, quiet, basic accomodations - The motel is in a quiet area (much appreciated!) and in easy walking distance of a good Thai restaurant and the main street. The room was no-frills, but had all of the necessary things that were in working order. There were no hangers or hanging rack for clothes.
- Faustina (10/5): - I had no issues at all with my stay and that is a good thing!
- Kristie (2/5): Find another place to stay. - The young lady who checked us in was very nice.
The room had definitely been updated and was clean. The location was scary looking. The exterior of the building was very run down looking. I felt unsafe. The room should have had an additional deadbolt and additional privacy curtains but did not. Another issue was poor customer service. Our fridge and microwave were not working so we returned to the office where an older lady said yes the fridge was fine but the switch just wasn’t on. ??? Sure enough, she went up with us and you have to turn on a wall switch to turn the fridge on. I explained that we had items which needed refrigeration and asked how long it would take for the fridge to cool down. No clear answer from her. We asked if there was a different room where the fridge was already working, she said no but the place seemed to have about half occupancy. Basically, she didn’t care that our room was not attended to properly or that we might lose some of our groceries.
- Wade (2/5): -
- Edward (10/5): -
- Cherie (8/5): -
- Anona (6/5): - The location was close to my son in law , only issue I had was you can’t have anyone alowed in the room during your stay .
- Lillian (8/5): 3 day stay - The bed was comfortable and Burgerville is nearby so is the local mall and skateboarding park for kids if they are traveling with you
- Carla (4/5): - Rooms needed to be upgraded. There was someone else hair in the shower. Beds were comfortable.
- Corbin (4/5): - It was nice you
- Nolan (1/5): - Nothing Got charged $100 for some stained towels that were already stained when I got there
- Shelly (4/5): - There was a 1/2” gap on our door and it was loud from trains and cars going by.
- Kai-Xuan (10/5): - Friendly
- Julie (5/5): Passable -
- kyle (10/5): - Managers were very nice. Building shows wear but room was clean and comfortable.
- Jackie (6/5): - Convenient location. No one in office to help with questions, getting fresh towels or toilet paper. Not enough parking.
- Graham (4/5): Disappointing - It was easy to find The beds were not queen size They were full and very uncomfortable for 2 people
The out side was not clean .
- Timothy (6/5): - Clean, quiet
- Cody (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patrick (1/5): Bad -
- Naomi (8/5): - This is a great place for a quick stay. Very clean, updated and comfortable. Wonderful value for the price. There were good extras in room- Fridge, microwave, iron and ironing board.
- Shigemi (4/5): - Fridge was broken, thin wall
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst hotel stay I've ever had - Although the family running the place was really nice, this was unfortunately the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The first room they put me in was seemingly clean, but once the AC turned on, the whole room stank of feet and rot, like something died in the AC. They let me switch rooms. The second room smelled fine, but the curtains didn't fully cover the front windows, meaning bright light was shining in all night long. There was also about a one-inch gap between the bottom of the door and the jamb, which let bugs in, and by 3 AM or so the room had filled with moths and mosquitos. I checked out the next morning, and despite having reserved the room for four nights, they did not offer me a refund on the remaining three nights.
I'm sorry to the family running it, but this place is just bad.
- Blaine (4/5): Disappointing - Staff was nice. The room was adequate. Bathroom was very tight and no towel racks anywhere. Fridge was not plugged in and I saw mold around the temperature dial. Only 1 chair with the table, in the room with 2 beds.
- Robert (2/5): - I booked on line. After deciding to stay last minutes. 5 minutes later i pulled into the property to discover no staff was available to check the 2 of us in. Not even shortly after another big issue saying i coyld cancel or
- David (6/5): - I grew up in The Dalles early’60s this motel was there then and very little signs of updates, in fact I don’t think over half of it was in service. But it was quiet safe clean enough; most people are not likely to spend more than one night perfectly adequate for that.
- Regina (7/5): Good -
- Tami (8/5): - Worth it for the price. Very friendly. You can tell they've been updating the property. Couple of curiosities with the room.
- Guillermo (6/5): - Clean, and friendly staff
- Kateryna (5/5): Passable - location not very clean, walls are really thin
- Kristin (8/5): Pleasantly surprised at The Budget Inn - The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. She knew the area and restaurant selections. The water pressure in the shower was lacking due to a leak in the handle. No ice machine but the front desk offered a tray, which was super thoughtful!
- Michael (8/5): Convenient, clean, courteous, and low price - It was wonderful. The manager was terrific to us, giving great help and also advising us to one of the best ice cream places down fourth street that we’ve ever eaten. our needs has a senior couple more than expected. The price was unbelievably low for such a wonderful experience.
- anthony (10/5): - Decent accommodations in great location near to downtown
- Jim (8/5): - lots of activity in this area that am not used to
- Lee (7/5): Good -
- Derikd (2/5): Very poor -
- Ryan (8/5): - Nice owners, clean rooms, easy location.
- Bob (5/5): Passable -
- Sarah (10/5): - The owners were very nice and friendly, for what they offer in a motel it was nice and accomidating to my needs and wants during my stay there. The area they are located in I'm not too sure about but there was a lady every evening screaming random things on the street.... that's beyond their control though. If you're looking for a psh to just rest your head n go shoot your business the next day this is a good place with great prices! I took videos not pictures unfortunately, but the bathroom was nice :) and the rooms were comfy.
- Audra (10/5): Very nice family run hotel. I don’t like the corporate run ones - Very clean A few more pillows would be nice but all in all happy with everything
- Audra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): - Nice quiet little spot!
- Hue (8/5): - Everything is limited. But the room is clean and it's good for one night to stay
- stuart (4/5): - My tow ball was stolen off my truck at night. Not sanitary, bugs in bed and room . Terrible service and check in , rude
- Terri (4/5): Not peasant at all - Tv only had 1 local channel, had someone in the room for 30 min trying to fix it because was supposed to get cable w/HBO. The small apartment size refrigerator was so gross and smelled really bad, so didn’t get to store our sodas in it. The microwave was dirty. Then in morning while taking a shower the shower head had water spraying from fittings, and sink leaked from fittings under it onto the floor when brushing our teeth. We advised the owner of all of this when we checked out and she actually insinuated it wasn’t like that when we went in the night before. Really!
- Ludomir (5/5): Passable - Beds weren’t clean. We found hair all over them. I don’t think they change the sheets
- Tanner (1/5): Gross, run down, not secure enough. - Nothing It took a lot of waiting to be checked in, and the first sign something was off was the janky-looking key I got for my room.
The lower row of rooms where mine was located smelled like pee and the doorknob for my room looked like it was about to fall off.
I did NOT feel safe, nor did I feel like I could leave my valuables in my room and expect them to be safe in there. I just took my stuff, dropped off the key, and left. Never in my life have I felt the need to do this.
- Brenda (6/5): - Wwwee
- Aundra (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gina (8/5): Very good - NA NA
- katherine (8/5): - It was 100° out the air conditioner did not work in the room. They were able to move us to another room. This property has very clean rooms and the staff was friendly.
- Christina (2/5): - Beat up hotel, but for the price not much is to be expected.
I called about my deposit the day after as I was told at check in I'd get it after check-out. Was told I'd get a call back and nothing. 2 days later called again, again was told I'd get a call back. 8 days later, the lady who checked me in said she said it would take 7 to 10 days to get it back. I reminded her what she told me at check in and she said no no it's longer. Will be filing a dispute with my bank. Such a waste of my time.
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing -
- Hyde (1/5): Worst motel experiences to date - Inexpensive The staff was using a leaf blower after 9pm. They charged me a security deposit because, "people sometimes punch the TVs".
They didn't make me pay a deposit last time I stayed.
- Rodriguez (8/5): Thanks 😊 - The place very good 👍 Everything is good 👍
- Rkia (8/5): - The lady at the front was very nice
- James (6/5): Pleasant -
- Carol (9/5): Superb - Very clean and quick check in. Staff is very friendly. We walked to the burger joint and had the best Halibut and fried asparagus! My husband had the bacon burger and it was exceptional along with the strawberry milkshake. We have stayed here before and will do again! Best for the money for sure! Nothing really
- Kaden (1/5): STAY AWAY - It was cheap Sketchy people all around loud, banging on my door all hours of the night
- Rana (8/5): Very good -
- Lynda (4/5): - There's no parking, i booked a king bedthey gave me 2 doubles then said if we sleep in both they are char
- Glase (5/5): Passable -
- Foday (10/5): - Love this place!
- Ashley (7/5): Good -
- Dan (2/5): - DON’T STAY HERE!!!!
The manager is not customer friendly and is rude. Loud noises from her quarters during check-in disrupted the process. No access to ice machine? Terrible experience.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don’t do it! - We motels stay ever! Super rude at the desk. During the day, while I was at work, they tried to enter the room without permission, the first time waking my girlfriend up from a dead sleep, standing at the foot of the bed. The sink in the bathroom would not drain. Unusable. The door had no peep holes and no way to lock it from the inside that did not involve a key. The curtains were too small for the window and you could see right into the room as you’re walking down the sidewalk. Also no icemaker that we found. Small bathroom towels.
- Hernandez (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katherine (6/5): Pleasant - Room was ok bed was good Bathroom was a little dirty
- Colleen (4/5): - No heat to the room. Went to the office and was given a space heater. The curtains would not cover the windows.
- Tannor (2/5): - This was the worst hotel iv ever been to
- Vanessa (7/5): Good - The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. I have pain and the bed was one of the more comfortable motel beds I have slept in. The shower head was breaking and the water pressure was bad. It trickled out and took forever to wash the soap off and shampoo out of my hair.
Also the area the motel is at has lots of homeless/ drug addicts. There were people going through garbages and yelling outside.
- Jon (8/5): - Clean and comfortable for a good nightly price.
- Kenneth (6/5): - Loud because it’s on a busy street with particularly lousy insulation. You get what you pay for. Bed was good and it did have a microwave, frig, coffee pot and toaster oven.
- Spencer (4/5): Disappointing -
- ben (10/5): - Good
- Richard (1/5): Not safe - Comfortable bed and friendly staff. Not safe!
Bathroom light switch in the shower and not connected to a GFI circuit. Microwave, mini fridge and toaster oven all plugged into the same power strip. And the AC unit would not shut off. I had to unplug the unit.
I'm a firefighter of 42 years.
- Myriah (2/5): - The room we got did not look like the picture on Expedia. The floor was so dirty that everyone’s feet was black. The towels didn’t match. They required $100 deposit, and wouldn’t cancel the reservation. They said I would have to contact Expedia.
- Nate (8/5): Very good -
- Gary (2/5): Unsafe sketchy place!!! - It started out ok. but after we checked in we left to go get dinner came back a couple hours later and realized someone had been in our room. So I went to the front desk to confront them about it and at first they didn’t know anything about it. Then all a sudden they start telling me some b.s. story. I don’t recommend this place to anybody I don’t trust the people running this place. Plus the picture in the description is completely different from which the room actually looks like Beware!!!!
