Guest Reviews
- guy (10/5): Très très des ruines mais pas de restaurant - Bon comme c'était en face des ruines pour moi c'était parfait. Mais en ce qui concerne la restauration j'ai dû marcher beaucoup
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Mgmt would only allow A/C to cool to 25 degrees.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A beautiful little place, very close to everything, eclectic collections and traditional thai art.
Clean friendly and quiet.
- Garry (8/5): A touch of the Past - Ok great location.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff is one person, doesn't speak a lick of English, couldn't help with anything at all, from getting a map to printing a document. Hot water was broken my in my shower so I couldn't even shower, there wasn't even anyone on site after 6 pm or in the morning, so I couldn't ask about the shower, rent a bike, nothing. It is very cute if you don't care about staff or warm showers.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - hotel caratteristico ed antico, ma personale inesistente e poco gradevole
- Simone (4/5): Good location - The room was smelly and has no windows. The staff in the evening speaks no English. upgrade to another room with window they would charge 1300 THB more. When I book the room it not show that the room not have a window.
- HAU YI (10/5): lovely hotel! - nice staff, lovely vintage style hotel.
can have a free coffee at the balcony with nice view & the jacuzzi in the room yo :)
- Christopher (6/5): Nice hotel in an not as nice part of Thailand. - Really kind of disappointed in Ayutthaya. People weren't as friendly as elsewhere in Thailand. The hotel was nice, although the staff weren't as friendly as elsewhere also.
Nice place, A/C was great. Neighborhood was safe and right across from main Wat Complex.
- Brian (6/5): Nice location - We spent several nights at The Sixty. Beyond check-in we had virtually no interaction with staff. My wife describes it as a quirky but cute place. The bathroom was large, but it was not air conditioned -- that was good for drying laundry, not so good if you had a bathroom marathon event. The wi-fi worked very well, better than most places we have been staying on this trip to Thailand. We got connected, stayed connected and speeds were adequate. There is not a lot of dining in the immediate area, but there were two night market-types of places. The one closer to the hotel was good food, interesting ambiance (we ate next to the lady doing the cooking outside) and incredibly cheap prices. The other market was further down the road and was not so much a night market as a large area of open air restaurants. Not as cheap as the night market but better seating, more accessible selections. There was a little place at the entrance of the street to The Sixty where we had nice little breakfasts basically every day. It was across from Wat Mahatat and gave us a real sense of dining almost among the ruins. All in all, wen enjoyed The Sixty and its location was great for our visits to the Historical Park. We also ventured to other parts of town, all easily reached by tuk tuk.
- Kimberley (8/5): The Sixty - Beautiful property directly across from the ruins. A little difficult to find, as it is set down an alley and taxis are unaware of the location.
We were able to check in a couple of hours early which was fantastic. Staff was polite and professional, but we never seen them again after showing us to the room, so if that is something you look for you might be disappointed(was perfect for me, as I like my privacy). The hotel itself is designed with antiques and relics, beautiful teak floors. Nice size room (deluxe) with a firm, but real bed with a silk duvet. Again, was beaufifully decorated.
The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub with a shower attachment. Really was a large oasis. The windows open to a jungle of vines, birds and geckos.
Coffee and tea are free and provided with biscuits both in room and in their little sitting area on the second floor.
I would say the only downside is the day starts very early for the staff and the neighbourhood. By 6am there is no way to sleep as the singing(beautiful voice lol)and what I can only assume is a very angry loud washing machine begin to shake the guesthouse.
Check out was a breeze. They offered tours and such but we never used those services. Would definately stay again.
