Staff were very approachable and helpful for all aspects of our stay as well as local history and information. Evening meals are available if you wish and all your requirements can be met from a drink with friends all the way to fine dining. There was some noise from the pub even though we were at the back, and front rooms will look over the bay where the A55 runs very close as well as the railway from Chester to Holyhead.

Gavin and his staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. From the snug fires in the dining room and den to the delicious breakfasts and close proximity to all North Wales has to offer, this was the perfect place to stay for a mid-Winter holiday.

- Michelle (9/5): Friendly and welcoming. - We needed someplace to lay our heads after leaving the ferry at Holyhead. A lovely Inn, staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, including GF (tell them beforehand).
Evening meals available, do book. Nothing for here, no problems for us we knew this was an inn.
Be aware - stairs, no lift.
- Georgia-Mae (10/5): Fantastic location, fab cocktails and high levels of cleanliness! - We stayed at the Gladstone as a part of our 1st Wedding Anniversary trip as it was in the perfect spot for us to travel to places we wanted to visit while in North Wales. Gavin and the team were incredible, really attentive and went above and beyond to make our stay a positive experience. Couldn't have done more!
Extremely knowledgable of the area and offered suggestions of places to visit
Food is of excellent quality with great produce and the cocktail options are some of the best we've had. Fish & chips and thevegetarian breakfast need special shoutouts
The room tray offered a lovely selection of teas and coffee, even including oat milk options which I've never seen before with a station next to the rooms to help yourself to.
Everything was to a high standard and incredibly clean and we also had a fantastic view.
Soundproofing was very good - we couldn't really hear anything when we were in our room from the bar nor road even on a bustling saturday evening.
The deep bath was also a highlight
We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back in the future.
It's a shame we can't add more than 4 photos to do the place justice - please check out my review on TripAdvisor for more :) The only negative was that there was a bit of an odd smell from the wardrobe of which transferred on to the jackets we hung up there - we didn't really notice until our depature day otherwise we would have mentioned something, but again not a slight at all against the venue as it's such a fantastic place and we had such a wonderful stay
- Ian (8/5): - Great location great breakfast and good beer
- Del (10/5): - Amazingly warm friendly welcome by the owners Gavin & Steven & staff. We took our little Staffy & was actually asked to bring her into the bar so they could make a fuss of her. Our room was light airy & had a fantastic view of the sea. The food was excellent & the wine exceptional. They all made us feel very special & extremely welcome. We have no bad comments because it was a fab stay. Highly recommend this Hotel. Nothing to add here. Amazingly warm welcome.
- Sarah (10/5): Brilliant place to stay - Everything No Guinness! 😕

- Jason (10/5): Highly recommended 5****** - Situated just off the A55. Gavin made us welcome as soon as we walked into the reception area. He recognised us from the first time we stayed back in February. The room we stayed in was number 4. Very spacious and immaculate. A great view of the mountainside and the sea. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. We booked an evening meal which was very exceptional. The bed was very comfortable and we had a delightful nights sleep. We had a good choice of breakfasts in the morning ,from a selection of cereals, juices, fruit, tea and coffee and a selection of cooked breakfasts to choose from. The whole experience was amazing. Will definitely be back !!! N/A

- allan (8/5): enjoyable all staff very friendly - we have visited here quite a few times over the years up to 10yrs ago as we had a static caravan on a thornley site. We have always had good meals here and reasonable priced drinks, this is first time we have stayed and had a nice room with full sea view. norhing to report on that
- Diana (9/5): A great place from which to explore a beautiful area - Lovely staff, warm and cosy Our radiator didn’t work, but the convection heater was more than enough

- Tanya (10/5): A really good quality place 👍 - Very welcoming, all staff were friendly and helpful. Everything here was really good quality, from the excellent menu choices and meals to the quality of the bedroom furniture and towels! Lovely atmosphere. A really good find. Speaking to some other visitors apparently the Sunday dinners are worth going for too!
- Maureen (9/5): - Great staff. Friendly and efficient. Excellent parking at the door. Pleasant room with uninterrupted sea views. Highly recommend.
- Patricia (8/5): Great hotel near Conwy. - Easy to find by car, close to a major road but sound did not travel up to the hotel, parking private, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, excellent dinner (recommend you book in advance), great cooked breakfast, fantastic view of the sea from my bedroom and at breakfast. There was a small issue about no hot water for showers early afternoon (after a long drive), but that was quickly sorted out. Other than the disappointment at not having hot water on arrival, which was quickly dealt with, nothing to complain. I would have liked to open windows but these days they are all sealed.
- Susan (10/5): -
- Philip (7/5): nice short overnight stay on way to Holyhead port - good dog friendly hotel in accessible location for Holyhead and north wales close to beach with very nice staff and meals
