Excellent evening meal and service in the restaurant. Efficient breakfast ordering system by which you select from menu, choose the time you want it to be ready and prepay. And again, the quality, value for money and service were outstanding. May not be suitable for people uncomfortable around dogs and those with mobility issues regarding stairs.

La atención de Kim y Richard, te sientes en casa desde el minuto 1, íbamos a visitar el cole de las niñas para el próximo curso y esta a 3min paseando, el pueblo es pequeño oero maravilloso, cerca de núcleos más grandes. Comida y desayuno caseros, habitaciones acogedoras... No queríamos irnos, ya hemos reservado para septiembre porque sólo tiene 5 habitaciones ¡Me gustó todo!

The room was cosy and welcoming with a spacious bathroom and lovely deep bath tub. If you want a traditional British pub b and b in the countryside this is ideal. The new owners are incredibly friendly, personable and kind - nothing is too much trouble. They went out of their way to make me and my daughter feel incredibly welcome, including making us some delicious food when the kitchen had just closed.

- Paul (4/5): Poor standard and not good value for money. - Easy to find; the building looks great from the outside and a really nice warm feel to the pub as you enter. Was greeted with smiles, and the people seemed friendly. The room was of a very poor standard and did not reflect value for money. There was a constant buzzing/humming noise which lasted the whole night. It kept me awake. The television set was faulty and the remote control had been glued together after what looks like a snapped-in-half incident previously. Luckily I took a book with me. There were no plug sockets visible (the one available was under the dressing table). The bedside lamp switch (inline cable type) was behind the table and fully taught making it very awkward to a) find, and b) easily switch on and off. The bath tub had dirty marks on it and did not present itself as clean. The shower screen means you have to lean in get wet as you turn the tap on. There is also nothing to hold as you get in and out and everything in and around the bathtub was slippery when wet. A les able person will definitely struggle; I did. The extractor fan in the bathroom also does not work which means unless you have the window open (it was cold outside) the place becomes a steam room. The radiator(s) were not working and no instructions on how to turn on or off. Overall, a really poor room to stay in and the best part was leaving in the morning. I was locked in and couldn't get out because there were no instructions on access/egress (but a lot of focus on selling me breakfast and supper, nonetheless).

- David (4/5): Non dog lovers beware! - Great as a Pub, fabulous hosts (Kim and Richard), room was spacious and clean (but could have done with the heating being on!), good bathroom and comfortable bed. The pub element was great with a good selection of beers and the food was also good - a little "limited" but perhaps to be expected in a small village pub (breakfast was excellent!). Additionally the atmosphere was good. So why the low rating? ........... "We" are NOT a Nation of dog lovers - we are a Nation where some people are dog lovers ......... I'm not one. If I had known in advance that there would be not one, but two, dogs allowed to roam freely in the bar/dining room (also at breakfast) I would not have booked this as an overnight option. I find it unacceptable to have dogs sitting in front of me whilst eating in a dining room (sorry Kim and Richard!). Dog lovers need to appreciate ther are those of us (more than just a few) that are not. The removal of the dogs from the bar - or at least make people aware BEFORE they book that 2 dogs are allowed free roam in the bar and dining room - would be helpful. Again, sorry Kim and Richard - you were exceptional hosts!

- MARIE (9/5): A very welcome overnight stay !! - Everything was perfect in as far as our welcome by staff, the service, food and room was good. The property is dated & it shows but it’s been maintained well despite this. Very comfortable overnight stay. One tiny thing that made me nervous was the fact that the door to the balcony didn’t lock. The key/lock was dysfunctional sadly. I know it’s in the 1st floor but still left me uncomfortable knowing it wasn’t locked. Had we stayed longer, we would have requested that it be fixed. Otherwise all good.

Kim took our bags to "Primrose" our room which was huge, 2 seating areas a tv and huge bed...dinner was delicious...steak night friday...and scampi...perfect...London pride and Exeter Avocet...Beautiful walk with the dog who was welcomed too ....😍 👌

Wonderful welcome, Kim and Richard were so accommodating, thank you! Not didn’t like so much, but due to the location the pub closing hours are to be expected. We arrived late Sunday evening so it was closed but the owners couldn’t do enough to ensure we were looked after! Will definitely visit again!

The only real negative was the noise from the pub downstairs until 11 pm, which meant any chance of an early night went out the window. If you don't want an early night after a long day's work before another early start, this place would be lovely.

- Bianca Laura (10/5): - Decisamente la sorpresa migliore del nostro road trip estivo per le Cotswolds e sud UK! Leggendo le recensioni precedenti non sapevamo cosa aspettarci, ma sorpresa!!! Hanno cambiato gestione, i proprietari di adesso hanno rivalutato tutta la locanda che adesso è un gioiellino nel paese di Iwerne! Abbiamo dormito nella camera molto ampia e bella “Primrose”, mangiato anche a cena e fatto colazione lì!
