Guest Reviews
- Eva (8/5): - Sehr, sehe freundliche Gastgeberin, super Lage, nettes Zimmer, alles da. Das Pub ist direkt an der Zimmerwand angrenzend, man hört alles. Schluss war leider erst um kurz vor Mitternacht, erst dann war an Schlaf zu denken.
- Martin (10/5): Es war einfach super 👍🏼 -
- Phillip (8/5): It was jut for one night and we left early to catch ferry but Tracey was helpful and friendly. - N/A
- hazel (10/5): Super place - Lovely place N/A
- Haigh (7/5): -
- Giulia (8/5): Simpatico! - Camera pulita, letti comodi, bagno funzionale. In ogni caso siamo riuscite a dormire tutte bene.
- Wes (10/5): A true Cornish country pub. A memory for ever. - The most lovely and welcoming people we’ve met in England. Nothing
- Chris (10/5): Wonderful welcoming stay at the Fountain Inn - We spent two relaxing nights at the Fountain Inn where we were made to feel very welcome by Tracey and Lucy. The location was very convenient for exploring this area of Cornwall and our stay was made all the more memorable by the kindness and helpful advice from Tracey and her colleagues. Nothing

- Elizabeth (10/5): Very welcoming owner, we had a wonderful stay -
- Ashley (10/5): It was lovely and welcoming -
- Phil (9/5): Really enjoyed it. Many thanks - Tracey has renovated the property completely and everything is smart and clean.
- David (9/5): Relaxing, enjoyable in an ideally situated location for our purposes. - We liked the location, the quietness, the local pub frequenters and of course the lovely landlady Tracey.
You do get traffic that comes by but it’s not continuous and by 11pm it’s peacefully quiet. We liked it all!!
- Peter (10/5): Highly enjoyable all round. - Very comfortable. Good size. Lovely pub with excellent beer. Very nice helpful landlady. Nothing
- Caty (9/5): Great stay, thank you!! -
- Gyenis (10/5): - Just pure awesome. The owner really made sure that we felt welcome and she was very flexible about our arriving times too. I can't recommend this enough. If we ever go back to this Cornwall, we will be visiting The Fountain for sure even if it is only for a pint. The local people were a nice touch to the pub vibe. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. Honestly there isn't anything that was bad. The whole experience was awesome. The place is cosy and it is in a beautiful place. I

- Darley (6/5): The Fountain Inn was excellent in all aspects. -
- Frank (9/5): Gemütliche und zentrale Unterkunft - Gemütliche, sehr liebevoll eingerichtete Pension, angegliedert an einen kleinen Pub.
Gute Lage, um den äußeren Westen von Cornwall zu erkunden.

- jeffery (10/5): We loved the pub and location, our land lady Tracey was friendly, and the perfect host. - Can highly recommend the full english! can't think of anything
- ales (9/5): La camera era pulita e confortevole. Tracey è molto simpatica e disponibile. La colazione era ottima -
- Cecile (9/5): -
- Julie (10/5): Fantastic host, lovely clean spacious room, great facilities and beautiful location - Tracey was a fantastic host. My daughter and I were attending a family funeral so it wasn’t a holiday trip. We were made to feel comfortable straight away and everything about our stay was perfect which we really appreciated given the reason for our visit. We were missing our little dog so loved having Millie around
as she made it feel like home. We would definitely stay again and can’t recommend highly enough
- Andrea (9/5): -
- Wendy (9/5): Pretty, cosy accommodation - A lovely family run English Pub and accommodation. The owners were delightful and the accomodation very pretty and comfortable. There were people singing in the pub which I thoroughly enjoyed listening to. It was very respectful and quietened down early enough for us to sleep. Plenty of carparking. Our room looked straight onto the beer garden which meant we had to close the curtains when people were sitting out there. This wasn't a big deal and didn't detract from our stay. We were very happy with this accommodation.
- camilla (9/5): Ospitalità e accoglienza…come in famiglia! -
- Debbie (10/5): Handy location for the Minack Theatre. Great welcoming place for a solo traveller - Tracey the landlady was fabulous and so welcoming. N/a
- Cheuk (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kim (10/5): A hidden gem just outside Penzance with real warmth and character. - We absolutely loved our stay here! Tracey, our host, greeted us with genuine warmth and we loved meeting Millie the cockerpoo as well. Our room was beautiful and spacious, as well as spotless. I loved the atmosphere of the inn as well. Tracey couldn't do enough for us and it felt like a home from home. Breakfast was fantastic and plenty of it. Honestly there's nothing I didn't like! I just wish we could have stayed longer.
- Lene (7/5): A good, cosy, local pub - Nice and clean. Very friendly host. cosy pub. Good car parking. Possible to bring a dog. Situated on the main road, so there were some traffic noise.
- Hv (10/5): Fantastic stay! - Amazing stay from beginning to end. I booked this place due to the amazing reviews and it didn’t disappoint. Tracey is very welcoming and just a genuinely lovely lady. The room was perfect, bed super comfy and breakfast was fantastic. I had read about the locals in the pub being so friendly and we had a lovely evening after we got back from our show at the Minack Theatre (and reason for staying at the Fountain Inn.) N/A
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay was perfect, really nice quiet little place to stay in great location.
- Tom (9/5): Wonderful family run Fountain Inn provided a great welcome, B & B, advice and service - go visit! - Nice quiet location in Newbridge, past Penzance - Tracey and her daughter Lucy, plus friendly Millie the dog, welcomed us royally and couldn't do enough to make our stay a wonderful one. Local knowledge and advice a bonus. 'Continental' Breakfast all that was required by us and we were delighted with the juice, tea and croissants. Double and single room comfortable and shower super! After a day's touring 'the nightcap' at the Inn was very welcome too - with our favourite Gunpowder Gin and Jameson on hand. We'll be back - even if it's not 27 degrees next time!
- Russell (8/5): Nice stay and lovely landlady . - Spotlessly clean and lovely people running the establishment. Very well furnished, same as our furniture at our home so they must have good taste. Pub prices very good in comparison to other places we have been to. Little bit of traffic and pub noise but that was mainly due to being a very hot day/night and had to have window open.
- Randall (10/5): Tracy and her daughter was extremely helpful - I would defiantly stay again - Breakfast was excellent 10/10 Nothing
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Gorgeous little pub, lovely room very friendly. Great place to stay
- Amy (10/5): Great stay - thank you. Tracey was a great host -
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - Tracey the host was so accomodating and friendly. She made us the best breakfast and the coffee was great. Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Plenty of parking space available which isn’t always easy to get at some places. The bar/breakfast room was furnished and decorated tastefully. Loved her dog Millie. The only thing I can fault at all was the fact the shower was a little small, but overall not really a problem.
- Pierpaolo (10/5): Exceptional - We spent a night at Tracey at the Fontain Inn and felt at home: cosy and warm room, clean and equipped with the things you expect to find available to you. He prepared a wonderful breakfast for us and allowed us the use of the administration room to do some work. Tracey was like a friend! It was a pleasure to stay with you - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED -
- Carmen (9/5): Overnight stop - Very friendly helpful owner. Disappointed kitchen was not open.
- Ting (10/5): Tracy is a wonderful host who makes every effort to make us feel comfortable and at home - Easy access to sights and yet provides quiet rest Nothing
- Lee (10/5): We had a great time during our stay. - From arrival to departure, Tracey and her daughter made us very welcome and could not do enough for us. We enjoyed drinks in the bar and meeting others there and the next afternoon, drinks outdoors in the front courtyard. We loved the character of the building and the location - minutes away from many attractions in the area. Thank you Tracey!
- Vicki (7/5): Very enjoyable stay - Tracey was very welcoming and the location was fantastic for sightseeing.
- Mary (10/5): If we ever go to Cornwall again we would stay there - My friend and I had a lovely stay at the Fountain Inn. We love Cornwall and wanted to visit it again. We booked the Fountain Inn not having been there before. It was charming. A lovely old public house down near St Just. The room was cosy , clean and comfortable. The cooked breakfast freshly made and plenty of it. Most of all the land lady was so welcoming.we had such a good time that we would definitely stay there again and encourage anyone looking to go to Cornwall to stay at this place. I am sure in years to come we will remember Our trip to Cornwall and our stay at the Fountain Inn All good
- Hazel (9/5): Superb -
- Ryan (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Tish (9/5): Lovely stay in a pretty hamlet. Very friendly host. - Our room was lovely and very spacious. Host was very friendly and welcoming. It was a shame the kitchen was closed as we had been driving for the entire day but thats a minor issue.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deidre (10/5): Wonderful!! Highly recommended for a welcoming homely stay. - Lovely atmosphere, room clean and welcoming. Food was well presented, wholesome and filling. Locals friendly and full of information for future sightseeing. Our hostess Tracey was warm, friendly couldn’t do enough to assist you. Roadworks outside out of the hostess’s control.
- Donna (10/5): End of day beers with the locals is a highlight of our trip so far - Now if you want to be in centre of town with a variety o restaurants. This isn't the spot for you! However if you want good food, great service and staying in the quint essential pub, then this is the place for you. We really enjoyed the end of day beers with the Locals. Such a happy vibe!
- Georgina (9/5): Tracey is hard working perfect landlady, a friendly atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble , very clean and comfy ro - Well kept, clean , with friendly atmosphere Nothing
- Peter (9/5): Perfect accommodation with connected pub - The great hospitality of the owner, Tracey. Our super-tidy room with bathroom (shower, wash basin & toilet) The best English breakfast we had during our 2 weeks in southern England. We also had dinner at the Fountain Inn and we liked it very much. The pub: It was a great pleasure to be among local people in the evenings with bingo and a man singing and playing guitar. Important: In our room, no noise from the pub was audible. The Fountain Inn is the ideal headquarters for doing sightseeing and hiking around Penzance. During the day, you can hear the cars from the country road in front of the Fountain Inn. At night, this is not an issue, as the traffic is low.
- Howard (8/5): Fabulous short break - Tracey was welcoming and helpful. The pub served good food and drinks. The location was ideal for Lands End, Cape Cornwall, St Michaels Mount, Mousehole and St Ives
- Chris (10/5): welcoming, friendly and wanting to return ! - we were made to feel very welcome and the overall service and friendliness was exceptional. nothing to fault
- Sietse (10/5): Exceptional - We enjoyed our stay here and the hospitable host. We had both breakfast and dinner at the property and both were very nice. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was a very nice size. Nothing really
- Milena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katy (10/5): Great stay - The lady who received us
Breakfast
Millie - the dog
Quiet location
Very clean Would have been useful a mini fridge
- Enrique (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): Lovely dog friendly accomodation - We received a lovely warm welcome from Tracey on arrival at the accommodation and she was always cheerful and helpful during our stay. Accommodation is dog friendly and in a great location to explore Penzance and St Ives. We had everything we needed in our room and we ate at the pub 3 times during our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future! Nothing!
- Sarah (9/5): A great location, great value and great service. - I couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome at the Fountain Inn. Tracy was friendly and fabulous, making my stay a joy. The food was hearty and tasty, with plenty of choice and breakfast really hit the spot. The en suite room, though small, had everything that I required, was clean and well presented. I would have no hesitation in staying at the Fountain Inn in future. The only minor negative that I have is that the window of my room opened on to the courtyard of the pub. As this was a smoking area, it meant that cigarette smoke would drift in when the window was open.
- Linsey (10/5): Fabulous stay! - The friendly welcome, clean, comfortable room. Highly recommended! There was nothing not to like!
- Anne (10/5): Fantastic friendly host and warm welcome awaits. Enjoyed our stay. - Clean and comfy bedroom with character. Not super swanky but good value for the level of comfort.

- Zueri_pingo (8/5): Very good - - Lovely landlady, who really takes care of her guests and really makes you feel welcome. It was a great pleasure to stay here

- Jevgenij (10/5): Exceptional - Nice people and nice service 👌

The breakfast was delicious and the dinner was excellent too with freshly prepared meats and fish. The locals were also friendly and welcoming and we felt like part of the community. - Glenn (8/5): Good value inn conveniently located to access West Cornwall with fantastic landlady. - Welcoming and comfortable. Very good breakfast. Characterful renovated granite building. Very convenient location for visiting the far west area of Cornwall. More passing traffic than expected but It did not disturb me. Limited days when food is served but St Just not far away.
- Susan (9/5): Perfect for a quiet break in comfort, with a genuinely warm welcome. - Lovely, authentic family-run pub and guest rooms. - David (9/5): Superb -
- Debra (8/5): Very good - Warm room, comfy bed, good shower. Lovely little pub and hearty breakfast filled us up until evening!
Landlady so friendly and who can forget Millie the dog, a loveable teddybear. Our room was at the front so some noise from the road in the morning and from customers leaving in the evening but we still slept like logs!
Maybe a vanity table or small chest of drawers in the alcove to put bits and bobs on like tissues, make up bag, parfume ect.
- Erik (9/5): Clean and comfortable venue, reasonably priced and located within a short drive of area attractions. - This is a good central location for visiting south Cornwall sights if you have transportation. Tracey, the proprietor, was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and cozy.
- Tony (6/5): Super spot for short stays to drive to many scenic places around south Cornwall. - Lovely landlady who provides good, clean rooms. The pub is a lovely place to end your day of sightseeing. The Steak and Ale pie is absolutely delicious. The locals are very friendly. The road noise can not be denied.
- Leslie (10/5): Exceptional - If you're looking for the Ritz-Carlton,then no. If you're looking for an Inn with great relaxed atmosphere, clean comfortable rooms and good food, then yes. We had a lovely break here, just minutes from Penzance and we thoroughly enjoyed the friendly personal service. .......
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely friendly place to visit and stay. We had the large room at the front of the Inn, with our own entrance doorway. Very comfy king-size bed and ensuite bathroom with shower 🚿. Tracey, the owner was on hand if we needed anything. Really tasty meals, in fact the sweet potatoes were the best I've ever tasted 😋. I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting great hospitality and good food. Great place to stay.
- Matt (10/5): Excellent, comfy, friendly, Enjoyable - The location is Brilliant, The Owner is a fantastic lady, couldn't do enough to help and she works hard bless her... The double room we had was excellent and very well decorated and very comfy and clean. The food served in the bar was absolutely spot on. And the locals in the bar in the evenings were a great bunch too...
We would 100% recommend The Fountain to anyone, the accommodation, the Hospitality and the ideal location if you want to visit The Lizzard and Kynance Cove, St Ives, Lands End and all the beautiful places the South End of Cornwall offers.
And we we definitely be staying here again. Having to come home 😥, other than that I dont think we could fault anything.
- Silvano (10/5): Great. - Cute rustic farmhouse feel, very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
- Alice (9/5): Very pleasant stay and meeting friendly people making our days. - Exceptionally friendly staff, comfortable bedroom, delicious food and drinks. Parking available and safe. Zero
- Erika (10/5): Definitely coming back. - The staff was extremely friendly, and helpful. The environment was comfy and clean, and it showed a good taste of the owner. We had a home feeling. We can not mention any issue during our say.
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff, great food, huge comfy bed
- Martin (9/5): Superb - Nice place in real circumstanzes. Good food, good people, good meant and done. Is no hotel. Is a nice pub with real folks. Unexpected but very warm.

The owner Tracey is super attentive and accommodating. She allowed us to put our milk in her fridge. Which we highly appreciated There was nothing to complain about.
Being super critical, we would advise the staff to give clean cups and spoons every day.

- Lisa (10/5): A Great Stay. - From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by Tracey.
Together with her daughter and staff, everyone were so friendly and we enjoyed lovely home cooked food and drinks in the bar.
The local people were very friendly too, and we enjoyed our time in the bar sharing laughs.
So clean everywhere and homely. N/A
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Nice room. Comfy bed, plenty of storage. Nice bathroom / shower. Big soft towels. Only got enough tea / coffee for one night. Room / window was next to pub entrance next time will book a different room. Could do with some black out blinds (I’m a light sleeper).
- Aidan (10/5): Great short stay at the Fountain Inn - Good location for exploring the west of Cornwall and only a few miles from Penzance. Very comfortable room with everything you need for a nice stay. Tracie is an excellent host and the pub has a good selection of food and beers. Fun theme nights; we took part in the bingo and won! Good value for money and highly recommended.
- Sumitra (10/5): Amazing and super clean stay! - I have fallen in love with this place!!! Nice, small and cosy place with bus stop right in front of the inn!!! The room was super clean! Tracy is a warm and friendly host! She looked after all my needs and is an amazing human being!!! I would love to come back here again! Absolutely nothing! It felt like home away from home!!!
- Caroline (6/5): Pleasant - The room was nice and Tracey was very friendly
The shower was really good and soft fluffy towels. Too noisy.
My window was right by the door so I had to keep my curtains drawn as people coming into the pub were looking in.
Food wasn't available for the days I was there so unable to comment on that.
A suitcase rack would be helpful as i had to put my suitcase on the floor.
