• Kunal (10/5): - Privet beach and very quiet and relaxing. Great staff and very helpful.
• Michael (10/5): - The most special thing about the Kathalee is its position. Without doubt the best beach on the island. A little paradise away from all the long tail boats. They offer free snorkelling gear and kayaks which is great. They also provide a free shuttle service to walking street between 6:30 to 7:30 pm each night. We then got a motorcycle cab back which cost 50 baht per person which is great fun if a little hairy !!! The views are lovely from the room (we had deluxe sea view) and it provides everything you need (A/C, shower and nice bed). The rooms are practical not luxurious but great for what you need on a Thai beach holiday. Staff are all lovely and breakfast was good - fresh fruit, yogurt, toast and jam etc with freshly cooked omelettes/eggs. All the staff were lovely. Koh Lipe is truly a special place and the Kathalee is a great place to spend your holiday

Ei muita ruokailumahdollisuuksia. Aurinkotuoleja rannassa. Hyvä pesulapalvelu. Non stop kyyti kävelykadulle klo 18-20.

• Margareta (8/5): Fantastisk läge men slitet hotell - Läget är ett av det bästa på Koh Lipe. Fantastisk utsikt och strand. Hotellet är slitet, badrummet under all kritik, toalettstolen trasig även handfatet. Hål i påslakanet, inga sänglampor eller sängbord.
• Bee Hong (8/5): - For family with children, note that the water current just beyond the rocks are very strong, especially around afternoon. I was holding on to the life ropes for my life, fear of being swept away. Beach full of long tail boats, difficult to swim.

• Tamila (8/5): Соотношение цена-качество не соответствует. - Расположение отеля выигрывает за счет близости к рифу и красивому пляжу рядом, у более дорогого отеля. Номера обычные, чистые, с видом на море ( у нас частично закрывали крыши нижних этажей и деревья). Кухню не оценили, т.к. питаплись в живописном ресторяне над пляжем в соседней бухточке. Завтрак не запомнился. Но запомнилась неприветливая администратор на рецепшине.

We were a bit disappointed in the limited breakfast options and found it to be lacking considering the higher price point we were paying but overall the staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay.

• Prema (4/5): Horrible hotel.... only good thing is near beach - This hotel is over rated and not worth the price you pay for it at all. For starters the bed is really hard and pillows are as hard as stones ... you can’t even lay your head on it. The bathroom is so basic and do not expect anything from the toiletries. The breakfast served was horrible and coffee you will have to make your own. Breakfast choice is very limited only eggs and white bread.... the most pathetic hotel ever!!! The guy who runs the hotel is a very rude guy, absolutely no hospitality at all. My worst hotel experience ever.

• TOMOYUKI (10/5): 食事を除けば満足 - 初めてのリペへの旅行だったので口コミも参考にしながら選ばせてもらいました。立地はサンライズビーチの端でプライベートビーチの様に確保されたスペースでシュノーケリングを楽しむ事が出来ました。ホテルのスタッフも皆、愛想が良く、特にウォーキングストリートへ送迎してくれた男性のスタッフの対応は非常に良かったです。 難点としては、ウォーキングストリートからは少し距離がある事、山を越えた場所にホテルがある為、急な坂道が歩くのには大変でした。 またホテルはレストランには余り力を注いでいない様で朝食も卵料理を中心とした同じメニューの繰り返しで長期滞在する場合には飽きがきます。 その点を除けば非常に満足できるホテルだったと思います。

• Verified traveler (6/5): Schlechtes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis - Positiv: Super Lage! Das Hotel liegt an einem ruhigen, etwas abgelegenen Strandabschnitt. Negativ: Das Bad war nur sehr einfach ausgestattet. Es gab keine richtige Dusche, lediglich einen Duschkopf und einen Abfluss (der in unserem Fall sehr gestunken hat). Die Kissen waren extrem hart. Für den Zimmerpreis haben wir mehr erwartet. Die Kommunikation mit der Rezeption war schwierig, da die Angestellte leider kein Englisch konnte. Wir haben uns mit Hand, Fuß und Handyübersetzer verständigt. Leider mussten wir unseren Aufenthalt kurzfristig eine Nacht verkürzen. Eine Erstattung der Nacht aus Kulanz wurde uns verwährt. Schade...
• Tom (2/5): Terrible way to treat customers - There were big cockroaches and bugs in the room when we check in so we rated on the Expedia. Moments later, the owner or manager was so angry and he came to our room to ask us why we gave him a low rating. And he complained back to us that it was because the door was open that is why insects came in. Under normal circumstance, hotel staff/ manager/ owner should not be angry to customers. Also, it does not matter if the door is open or not, cockroaches should never appear in the hotel.

Saimme paremman huoneen mitä alun perin olimme varanneet ilman lisämaksua, joka oli erittäin siisti ja viihtyisä, mm. suihkusta pystyi katselemaan merelle. Hotelli aivan rannalla ja merivesi älyttömän kirkasta. Ystävällinen ja palvelualtis henkilökunta. Hotellissa ilmaisia lisäpalveluja, esim. snorklausmaskit ja kajakit, joita sai käyttää respasta pyytämällä. Hotellilla oma taksikuljetus kävelykadulle, mutta matka myös käveltävissä. Viivyimme vain 3 yötä mutta hyvin olisi viihtynyt pidempäänkin.

Situated on a small chilling private beach a bit outside of the center (10-min walk but transpotation is offered by the hotel in case there's a need for). The management does its best to fullfill all the customers wishes. I can highly recommend that Hotel and will definaltey stay there again. • chamairat (10/5): If I visit Lipe again,I would definitely stay here - It was great. Those staffs were great. They really took good care of us. The price was included the breakfast. My husband can't eat some type of foods and they fixed something else for us.

• Diana (8/5): Tolles Hotel - Wir hatten einen sehr erholsamen Aufenthalt im kathalee. Alle Angestellten sind sehr hilfsbereit und sehr nett. Das Hotel liegt an einem Korallenriff bei dem man sehr gut Schnorcheln konnte. Schnorchel sowie Kajaks kann man sich kostenlos beim Hotel ausleihen :). Auch einen kostenlosen Shuttleseevice gibt es in die Stadt von 18.00 - 20.00 Uhr. Super tolles Team Danke für die schöne Zeit.
• Sharla (10/5): Nice little hotel - This is a great hotel located right on the best beach in Koh Lipe. It's at the quieter end of the beach with nice little areas to swim and relax on the swings in the shade. The room is lovely with a nice view over the beach, breakfast is adequate, most staff don't speak much English although Norbert is from Germany and speaks perfect English so is able to help with any questions. There is a free shuttle into walking street where most restaurants are, however there are some great restaurants near the hotel as well (Serendipity for the view, 10 moons and Castaway for the food). There seems to be some bioluminescence along the waters edge at night which is interesting to see. Good snorkelling off sunrise beach as well. Quite a fair walk up the hill to some of the rooms although it's definitely manageable even in the heat. The shower isn't separate from the rest of the bathroom so it tends to get very wet everywhere in the bathroom. All up, a great hotel and I would stay again
• Verified traveler (6/5): Kathalee on Ko Lipe Island - The building is fairly new, less than a year. Each room comes with private balcony, which on higher levels, offer a nice sea view. Free breakfast was adequate, if you asked for fruit yogurt, they would go to the market to get them. But the servers were very bad in English,often made mistakes who's whose order, could not understand our basic order of food.The restaurant does not have good dishes, next door there're two nicer restaurants and bar. It's located at the end of beach against a huge rock. There are adequate beach lounge chairs, kayak and life jackets, also an option of Thai massage service if you pay for it. It's away from the main drag but there's Tuk Tuk or a golf cart to take you one way wherever you want to go, take you thru back roads where it's not very pretty. You hire a Tuk Tuk back yourself which was not bad for 50B. There's a TV set in room but does not play in English,it's like no TV at all. There's no DVD movie player, either. No room services/cleaning if you don't leave your key at the front desk, which we found out the day after we didn't get the cleaning and replacement of bottle water and towels:) I think it's pricy for what have offered. But there was a German IT retiree, who volunteers working there. He made everything much easier and tolerable. Thank you Norbert!
• Ricardo (8/5): Ruhige Lage am Sunrise Beach - Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir abgeholt, obwohl wir nichts vereinbart haben. Am besten dies vorher anfragen (ist kostenlos). Zusätzlich wurden wir jeden Tag mit dem Buggy an die Walkingstreet gefahren. Zudem stellt das Hotel einen Kayak zur Verfügung (1 Stunde). Das Frühstück ist ausreichend gut, kann aber ausgebaut/verbessert werden (Brot/Früchte/Marmelade). Geschätzt haben wir, dass beim Frühstück zusätzlich Wasserflaschen abgegeben wurden.
• Dawn (10/5): Fantastic heavenly resort - Visited Koh Lipe in 2006 & it would be fair to say that the island has developed a fair bit since then but has not lost it's wonderful character. Due to it's location its a dream for beach food & nearby reefs for diving or snorkeling. Kathalee is on the best side of the island in my opinion. The view is directly onto the sea & nearby small island through palm lined beach. There a selection of rooms & rates which will suit various budgets. Rooms are extremely well maintained & very clean. Air con is quite & very welcome. Staff & management are superb friendly & willing to help. Bathroom is well supplied with toiletries every day. Rooms are equipped with kettle teas coffee big fridge big tv sofa to lounge on & out of the huge sliding glass doors is a balcony area with padded sun loungers. Breakfast is good standard. The resort is built on a hill side & from the photos looks like the rooms are built on top of each other - they are not, each layer is built on an increasing staggered height up the hill. This is very quiet area but just a short walk to main food area. All round excellent resort to stay & highly recommended.
• August (8/5): - Trevligt hotell. Perfekt om man vill ha ett par avkopplande dagar. Jätte vacker utsikt ifrån balkongen och väldigt bra snorkling precis vid hotellet's strand. Massor utav fina fiskar och coraller. bla. finns det Clown fiskar. Det ligger en bit ifrån stan, men hotellet erbjuder gratis tranfser med golfbil in till Walkingstreet(fram till 20:00), vilket vi utnyttjade flera gånger. Man fick ta sig tillbaka på egen hand, tillex. med en moped-taxi(50bath/pers) eller gå 20-30min. Gratis utlåning utav snorklingsutrustning. Gratis wifi. 4 st massage ställen vid receptionen. Trevlig personal som var väldigt hjälpsam. Jätte fin sandstrand! Renligheten på rummet var bra. Men rummet skulle behöva tätas lite och fräschas till, trots att det verkar vara helt ny renoverat så finns det massa renoveringsmissar, speicellt på Toaletten. Två gånger hittade vi kryp när vi kom tillbaka till rummet efter att ha varit på walkingstreet. 2 st kackerlackor och en liten skorpion. Troligtvis kröp dom in i glipan som var under ytterdörren. Kuddarna i sängarna var väldigt höga och hårda, vackra att titta på men inte jätte sköna att sova på. Sängen var helt okej, snäppet bättre än sängstandarden på hotell i Thailand, men den hade gärna fått vara lite mjukare. Allt som allt rekommenderar vi detta hotell. Lämpar sig bäst för dom som vill ha sol, bad och relax, för barnfamilj eller par. Backpackers eller ungt par bör söka sig närmare Walkingstreet.
• Ernesto (10/5): Good room..beach.. Epic mozzies - Book in with family. Love how close the beach was to our room. Room is good. Ask for extra bed and got a mattress on the floor. Didn't use it as the sofa doubles up as a bed for the night. Mozzies were epic. Son was bitten even though we sprayed him with repellent. Something to think about for future stays there. Overall happy with our stay.Already looking to book for our next stay.
