Guest Reviews
- Anthony (6/5): - Staff could have used more training. But overall it was a good experience
- Deanna (6/5): Update - The showerhead or water pressure needs to be adjusted. Even with moving the showerhead the floor by the toliet was wet and thats with the shower curtain all the way closed. The bed sheets need to be thrown away as it looked like they were lightly stained and it didnt come out. Same with the towels (which i didnt use but to step on) king size bed should have more than 3 pillows. Need a tv channel guide in the room, local list of places to eat, phone book is from 2022. The photos online did not match what the room looked either.
- Sheri (10/5): - The motel was in an odd location and I passed it twice. The bedding was fabulous but the room needs black out curtains. I could have slept till noon…
- Nikola (4/5): - The room to 209 Smells on Mall the Carpet is Dirty the chair is Dirty need to be Clean more often only the AC is good
- Zach (2/5): - Traffic noise was very bad all through the night, location felt unsafe. Actual room
- Aminata (8/5): - Very clean
- William (2/5): - I didn't like nothing about the property terrible
- Beth (2/5): - This was/is the worst property. There is a window to check. No lobby area! No trash cans in the room. Very unsafe feeling. Paint chipping all around the room and outside. Threshold into the bathroom is raised about an inch soooo very much a tripping hazard. Upon entering the room was full of scented perfume we needed to brew coffee several times to be able to have fresh air. Upholstered chair provided was stained, ripped, handle broken.
This property should NOT be listed .on Expedia. Expedia is too good a service to have this on their listing!
I also need to check to see I haven't been charged twice. I booked used my One Key AND was charged at check in? So need to investigate if I have charged twice!
Thanks for listening and I trust you will act on my suggestions!
- Larry (10/5): - Easy to get in and out
- Anthony (8/5): - NA
- Virgil (6/5): Basic. Basic. Basic - Just a basic room, good water pressure. Coffee in room was the only perk
- Loyd (2/5): - No water in sink bathroom was very small, no cleaning of room, only 1 packet of coffee
- Andreas (6/5): - I was okay for one quick night in a very convenient location for me.
- Brian (6/5): - Older well used just a place to sleep
- Jeffrey (2/5): False advertiseinent - Rooms were dirty they charged more than what hotels .com said it would then hotels .com would t help me get a new room or different place or my money back
- Larry (8/5): - This is a unique place, having a kitchen and clean and spacious rooms, very comfortable
- Eric (8/5): - .
- Devin (2/5): - Random tweakers knocking on your door in the middle of the night looking for drugs. The rooms are not renovated like it says and they are beyond disgusting. Dirty sheets, dirty floors , dirty walls!
- Kyneth (2/5): - Toilet was clogged the entire 2 days we stayed, no one came for room service the entire time
- Stanley (4/5): Quick trip back home - Price fits the room, if you’re looking for a spot to crash and on a budget this is it.
- Richard R (8/5): Never again! - It was a room to lay my head at night. Shower didn't work, ceiling paint was peeling and heavy smell of marijuana even though it was a no smoking room!
- Jeffrey (2/5): Trashy un clean bug house - My stay was awful there was feces on the wall there was cockroaches there was crash and all kinds of dirt and dust and everything behind the headboard it was completely unclean and uncomfortable when complained about it was told no refund and that was all they could do
- anthony (10/5): - Nice
- Belinda (6/5): - Property is older and shows age, but was clean and staff were nice.
- Julie (2/5): - Nasty all around. Not to mention flies and gnats in our room. We were from out of town and had no idea of the condition till we got there. Website doesn’t have updated pics of the rooms. This is more of a rent by the hour hotel if that’s what your into. Oh and can’t forget the cockroaches. Gross all around
- Jay (4/5): - The room was unsafe. Resting on the headboard of the bed was a board that had been screwed into the drywall, but was pulled out and just laying there. They also charged me more than what was listed on my reservation through Expedia. I had reserved two rooms and the hotel had charged an additional $11.40 for each room. I would not stay at that hotel again.
- Kendra (4/5): - Staff was friendly. Noisy especially at night. Room not clean.
- gary (2/5): Not again - Charged me 84 when it was supposed be 70
- John (2/5): - Shower didnt work. Bath only. I wont stay there again.
- Diane (4/5): - Bed spread had 3 or so cigarette burns in it. The office chair had stains and small rips in it that I covered with their towels to sit in. Pillows were flat! Had to fold three times to sleep. Had coffee maker, micro and frig. Old building and it looks like they are trying to update it. Great price for a night to travel through but not sure I would stay here again.
- Michael (4/5): - This was an older facility. The walls in the room were not clean, ie boogers. A poer strip with the cord cover exposing wires. Bug traps behind the fridge.
- Jason (2/5): - Place stunk, it was dirty and the sheets had blood stains and hair from the last people that stayed. Hookers and trannys walking the parking lot. My daughter was at the car out front and a car stopped like they was gonna take her. We was down for a state competition and had not clue if the are we was staying. Never said anything to the 1 person working as I figured nothing would be done. I will not ever be back to stay at this nasty hotel
- Deborah (6/5): - Older motel . Room was alright for an overnight. Chair was dirty .room was just run down . Bedspread needs replaced. Bed was comfortable.
- Keisha (6/5): - The room had very old looking furniture and the bathroom was so small….the air conditioning was terrible and I felt like I was at a low class motel! I will never book there or recommend anyone there again👎
- Robin (8/5): - Nothing like the one in jackson. I stayed at the townhouse inn in jackson mo then the one in cape girardeau. The one in jackson 10 stars the one in cape 2 stars so its woryh the 5 min drive
- Jessica (4/5): - Horrible customer service. Plus had to vacuum the room myslef.
- Jerry (6/5): - The TV did not work. The outlet in the bathroom did not work. Check in was very sterile(we couldn't even go inside the office but had to stand outside in the cold like little orphans.)
- Richard (6/5): - Will not stay at this property again.
- Janis (2/5): - The room was clean but the door had dug deep grooves into the plaster where the door closes. This made the door very hard to close completely. The male residents and guests made me nervous. A single woman traveling alone. I told the employee I couldn't stay. He was very nice, friendly, and helpful.
- Dustin (4/5): - Cheap, noisy, hard to get to.
- Andrew (8/5): - Price was cheap to match facilities
Old place
Bathrub drain didnt work so when you took a shower the water filled in the bathtub
Water pressure was bad, not much hot water
A Hindu-run dump basically
Cape Girardeau's biggest dump of a motel packed with full time down-troddened inhabitanrs. Pretty rough.
- scott (10/5): - Staff has been very helpful
- Verified traveler (6/5): Well, it has a bed and a toilet. - I have stayed at this Inn several times in the past 10 years, and never has my room been this run down and dirty. I'm not looking for something fancy, but I do expect better than partially patched drywall, spotty bed sheets and grime. There were cigarettes all over the parking lot and stairwell. It has a bed to sleep in, and the toilet kind of worked (if you held down the handle until all the water emptied) but it wasn't a pleasant place and I wouldn't recommend it to friends.
- Teena (10/5): - Very clean. Nice beds. Hot water.
- Joseph (4/5): - Hmmm, not gcool
- Verified traveler (8/5): - No working smoke alarm.
Unaware as to what selection of towel should be in room.
Improvement s to structure and rooms will take time
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was ok.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Very gross.
- Rose (8/5): Girls trip - We have a good stay .the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, would rent again if ever need a room to rent for the night
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Worn, rusted metal stairs.
Stained furniture upholstery
Stains on bathtub
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I have a service dog and they REFUSED ME BECAUSE HE IS TO BIG. AGAINST THE LAW PEOPLE
- Verified traveler (2/5): - actually . it is bad hotel. bad services. no telepon in side. no taxi available. room dirty, not clean. workers are very lazy and they don't care about visitors. too much noisy .
in short , i don't recommend it for any person.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Bed bugs and roaches
- Verified traveler (8/5): - 1st motel I stayed at in which fridges didn't have a freezer. Had to buy food daily instead of having it in the freezer.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room and furnishings were dated. There were burn holes in the comforter on the bed. The bathroom was filthy; there was a pubic hair and what I’m guessing was dried urine on the toilet that wasn’t visible until I closed the lid. There were burn stains on the toilet seat and tub from people smoking in the bathroom. The washcloth in the bathroom looked to have makeup stains and I’m not sure if it was even clean or dirty. I killed a baby roach in the shower. The walls in the bathroom were dingy and I doubt any type of COVID cleaning precautions are being taken. We stayed here anyway because there were no other rooms available anywhere else in the area. The bed was comfortable but we won’t stay here ever again. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you have no other options or you don’t care about cleanliness.
- Tamika (6/5): RUN! DON'T SPEND YOUR $ HERE - I made my reservation and showed up he looked at me like I had 3 heads. Tried saying he could not find it than when he did he tried charging me more. And they have a sign on the check in window saying no housekeeper due to covid-19 so keep room clean and if room supplies is needed to come down and get it. That there should of been enough to make me change my mind but since it was late and we needed the room I went ahead with the booking. We get to our room and in the tub was 3 Band-Aids and a used bar of soap and lots of hair all over the tub. The blankets if you can call it a blanket more like 2 sheets had 3 bloody spots on it. On the wall by the toilet was a smashed dead bug I'm guessing a roach but who knows since they don't clean or care to keep things clean you would think with covid they would have daily housekeeping but guess that to them means to not have any type of cleaning schedule. I definitely won't be staying again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Price was good. Near restaurants and main roads. Well book for next meeting in September.
- Verified traveler (4/5): smelly filthy room, but cheap - Overall, unpleasant/gross. Front desk was fast to check in. Property and room was grungy and room had a very strong unpleasant odor of smoke, mold, dust, grease. The smell stayed on our clothing, bodies and hair long after we left. Stains on chairs of who knows what. Carpet felt like it had a layer of filth. Room only had one bed despite picture showing two. Bathroom was actually ok. Felt compelled to go straight to laundry and shower when we got home. Got it because it was cheapest room around and we would only be sleeping there to sleep from 11pm to 8am. Would not go back.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Would not recommend ANYONE to stay there. Just not a good place or location.
- Billy (2/5): Beware RUN!! Decrepit Dilapidated & Disgusting - Well first the pictures do not show what the room looks like in reality, The main reason we chose this hotel was that the town its in was having a snow storm, and I was scheduled for a back surgery 2/16 and had to be there at 5:30 am and we are 70 miles from the hospital and needed to be close due to the weather, When we first arrived the Lady was pleasant but does everything through a Window and Speaker System, It was when we got to the room and already knew their was a no cancellation or refund policy we understood why, We would have at that time but it was clearly on your documentation and the hotels after we paid for it, and it was 6 degrees outside with a negative 18 windchill, and it took us 3 hours in the storm to drive 70 miles, so we were going to make the best of it. Our first impression the door to the room did not fit weather tight, so on the inside they had placed Blue Painters tape up and down the door frame to keep the cold air out and it did help some if you kept pressing it against the frame, The bed had a Old sheet and Bed Spread for a blanket, and 3 worn out pillows, on a mattress that was clearly 20 to 30 years old. There were stains sprayed across the TV, the walls in bathroom and sink area looked like they had not been cleaned in years, I will never stay in this again, it looks more like it has become the Party Place Hotel, and with all kinds of extra activities seen by my wife the following day, I honestly don't see how it has the stars you site says
- Jason (8/5): Pretty good. - It was a pretty good stay. A little more expensive then last time and not sure why but we stayed a night anyway.
- Rennetta (4/5): Ok- not great - Check in was simple. I was happy to have a "no frills" motel since I just needed a place to sleep while visiting my dad in the hospital. But when I walked in to the room, the first thing I noticed was a big circle stain on the quilt on the bed. Nothing appeared to be "clean" except the sheets on the bed, so that was okay. I guess it served the purpose but I wouldn't stay here again.
- Scott (10/5): A little touch of cleanliness - Service was great, decor was dated but provided a retro look along with lots of storage space for your items. Hotel was very clean. Much to be said about cleanliness over modernization. It doesn't have to be the most modern if price and cleanliness is good.
- Carlton (10/5): - It was great nice an continue l comfortable an also convenient
- Charles (6/5): No tv service or elevator - Room was spacious and hotel clerk at check-in very nice. Internet fast.
Elevator broken and television not working
- Verified traveler (8/5): Rude - And the person who was working the counter at time of check-in was extremely rude and when I had to call and ask about my room deposit he was once again extremely rude the room itself was nice but that was about it that was nice about my stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Liked the location.
Disappointed with no towels or soap several times
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Management is wonderful, convenient location.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was as good as suspected. It was really clean, but haveing a toddler it didnt stay that way. Our stay was very nice. The price is afforable and the staff was definitely amazing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I liked the setup of the hotel. Good location and the friendly clerk.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff, convenient location
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Room looked like it had not been swept or vacuumed. Coffee maker was on top of the fridge, but no access to a plug in. Had to move it beside the bed to access the limited AC outlets. There was a small closet to hang clothes, but, no hangers. Other than that, it was great.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Room was disgusting and had white stains all over recliner. Only cold water worked as well.
- Anne (4/5): Run down and overpriced for the property! - The property is very run down and has dirty, used old air conditioner units sitting in front of the rooms, construction materials and old used property sitting outside the rooms and under the stairs. Strip of grass for pets has large piles of dog poop left there.
- JC (2/5): - This is the worst hotel I have ever checked in to. After checking in we went to our room and decided not to stay because of how bad it was. It is really something out of a scary movie or the type of hotel you rent by the hour. Burn holes in the comforter, patch jobs on the drywall, nothing matched, furniture from 80's, plastic still on the TV, old carpet, I could go on....Ultimately we had concerns about safety and coupled with the condition of the room, we left shortly after check in. It's really crazy that Expedia even has this on their website.
The front desk lady was nice and there is a Huddle House across the parking lot. That's about it for the positives.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and helpful! The room was clean and we were extremely happy with it! Close to everything we needed. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone! A little older but perfect!
- Stacey (2/5): Very disgusting - We walked into the room and right back out. Got a refund and went to another hotel. I have never seen a motel like this. The door was damaged, room was dirty, the lighting was bad, etc. I have attached pictures of our room.
- Jennifer (4/5): REALLY? - The lady upfront was kind and very thorough. This paticular place(rooms especially) needs a makeover...bad. The cleanliness was poor. Made me not want to shower.(which i did not) Pictures was almost like " false advertising". Will not recommend
- Christina (8/5): - Great location, good air controls, need soda anx snack machine machine. Plus more than 1 ice machine, as nd ash trays in smoking rooms would be nice. The last 2 times there wasnt one anyway.
- Randy (2/5): Third world Rating - Clerk was unfriendly, room was dirty and smelled. Toilet stopped up and ran into the floor. Clerk accused me of putting toilet paper in the toilet. This is America not India or some other third world that has no sewage system. Maintain your property and everything will work.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - So this is not a $120+ a night hotel. But for the price the quality and value were EXCELLENT!! The rooms had bee remodeled not too long ago and yes there were still a few stains on the carpet (I have a few at home too), but the room was clean and everything worked well. The bed was comfortable and the cable selection and wi-fi were great. And there is a Huddle House right there in the shared parking lot!! The only minor things I didn't like were there was some musty smell when I got in the room that went away when I ran the fan. I would very much recommend this place for people seeking solid motel at a great price!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - I found nothing to like. The room had mold and mildew on the carpet and tub walls. Outlets were mostly already in use. The clerk did not speak clearly and made no attempt to explain anything. Signs said Room key had to be returned to the staff member at the check in desk. No one could be found after two attempts. Handle on lavatory was loose. Inside of tub was filthy. There were several cigarette burns in bedspread. AC controls did not work. This place needs an inspection by the health department due to the mold.
- Lori (6/5): - They did offer smoking rooms, the check in person was very nice, when explaining things. Didn’t like that it was and older motel with people that live there constantly., but if you had a pet, this place would be an excellent place to stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We did not get fresh towels each day nor were our beds changed.
