Guest Reviews
- william (8/5): One night stay visiting relatives. Would stay again if the need arose - The price , the quality of the food and the staff. Not a lot it is a bit tired but I suppose it is a work in progress.
- Griffiths (10/5): Great little Inn - Helpful and lovely staff, at this little Inn.
Comfortable room, and a great bed, had a very restful night here after our road trip around Scotland.
Really good, and filling breakfast, with plenty of options.
- christophe (9/5): Très bon établissement bien situé - Ambiance agréable - Très bon accueil, petit déjeuner copieux. Personnel très à l'écoute
- Lessmann (8/5): -
- Kristina (9/5): -
- Annette (8/5): - Lovely Village feels , great staff and meals
- Tracey (8/5): Comfortable nights stay. Had pleasant evening meal. Our dog is always made welcome too. - We have stayed here quite a few times. Comfortable, dog friendly, friendly staff. It would help us if the breakfast was served from 7am.
- Tomi (8/5): Other than missing all the food, it was nice place to stay. - Location, atmosphere, cosy bar Kitchen closed quite early and there were nothing to eat when we arrive around 8:30pm. Also the breakfast started surprisingly late at 9am and we had to leave before that.
So we didn’t had a chance to enjoy their famous kitchen at all.
- Simon (8/5): Good pub/Inn in a lovely village. Excellentt bedroom and a great breakfast. A great stopover. - Great staff (well it was actually Stacy who did the waiting, bar, reception etc). Very friendly and chatty and Dogs couldn't have been more welcome. Our only disappointment was that breakfast didn't open until 09.00 am.
08.00 should really be the latest start time. On the plus side, it was a great breakfast!
- William2674 (10/5): - Great atmosphere in the bar. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Restaurant food was excellent
- Clare (8/5): - Ideal location. Local pub atmosphere & exceptionally good food. Nothing.
Very, very good! Niks
- Robin (10/5): Short stay while visiting family in the area and we were made to feel very welcome by the staff - Staff were all friendly and helpful , meals were fabulous and our dog was made very welcome
- Jane (8/5): Friendly cosy inn with rooms set in a very pretty village.. Delicious food. Quiet location. - Very friendly and helpful staff.
Delicious dinner and tasty breakfast. We had a very small room, but it was a last minute booking so couldn’t be helped.
- Martin (7/5): The experience we had , not ideal for couple with young children - Breakfast. Paid for family room , didn’t get it when we arrived
Unsure if it’s ideal for a family with a young child as could hear music from bar and loud chatting from beer garden. I’m aware that it’s a village bar just thought the segregation might have been suited to the fact they have family rooms ? Not a massive deal and it all went quiet before 11 but as I said . Don’t think we would stay again with a young child but that’s maybe my fault in first place
- Sabine (9/5): -
- Lesley (9/5): Relaxed, comfortable and quality stay - Superb breakfast with local produce All rooms upstairs so difficult for accessible needs
- Fiona (7/5): Good food and very cheery staff in the restaurant and bar. Stay spoilt by having to wait at the bottom of stairs in a sm - Warm and homely room Could do with redecorating and upgrading
- Tracey (8/5): Relaxed. Friendly place to stay with good food on the evening menu. - We have stayed here on a number of occasions entire from the south of England to visit our family near Inverness. It is a friendly place and the food is good. We would prefer it if the breakfast could be served earlier as we like to continue our journey as soon as we can in the morning so usually leave without having taking advantage of the breakfast included in the booking price.
- Kirsty (10/5): - cosy in a lovely village with good food and friendly staff. Good night sleep, delicious breakfast with lots of choice and dog friendly
- Murray (8/5): A very nice place to stay. - The breakfast was good, the hotel was quaint. It is a nice location off the beaten track. Very enjoyable.
- Julie (5/5): - Staff, portion size in restaurant and breakfast Mattress not the most comfortable
- Nicholas (7/5): - The breakfasts were amazing. The staff were very pleasant. Sadly as it’s an old building there is no soundproofing so we were woken at midnight by other guests coming and going and talking loudly. Also the clock tower chimed at midnight and then again at 7am! The sleeps were interrupted

- Elizabeth (8/5): A quintessential village pub experience. - It was a quintessential village pub experience. The staff were lovely and helpful and local. They had everything we needed and were happy to oblige if we asked for something. It was warm and cosy and just what we'd hoped for. The food was great and plenty of it. We didn't realise (weren't informed) that the breakfast didn't start until 9am (we usually eat earlier) but once we knew, it was fine.

- Jaime (10/5): - I lived how it was super dog friendly, the staff were amazing. Absolutely nothing
- Carlos Eduardo (10/5): Fantastic stay - WE have dinner that was amazing, the crew was so kind and receptive. The breakfast was fabulous and we will return there. Everything was fabulous
- Degsy (9/5): Nice little stop over. - Stayed here before earlier in the year but I'm a different room. Great friendly staff and excellent food. Steak night deal was excellent. We'd ordered venison and disappointed at first that they had none, but it was a blessing in disguise. A full Scottish breakfast to match in the morning. Perfect! Could do with more of a selection in beers and ciders. I'm probably being a bit critical because I'm a joiner but we were told we had the posh room but the finish in our room was a bit rough round the edges. Broken and loose floor tiles in the bathroom, square toilet with a round seat. Nothing was a deal breaker but the broken tile could hurt someone in bare feet.
- Paul (9/5): Really enjoyed a comfortable break in the Scottish countryside. - Great location, comfortable room and very friendly staff. The food was also excellent in quality and price. The room and hotel could do with a tidying up a bit.
- Jackie (10/5): Staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely small room , which suited my needs. Located in a trad - The location is in a quiet village, traditional country inn. Staff were fantastic, very welcoming and the food was good. Will be returning next year with my children for a longer holiday. Nothing to complain about.
- Sarah (8/5): Relaxing with good food - Lovely, small dog friendly inn. Food was excellent and staff were very friendly.
- Cherie Maureen (10/5): -
- Morgane (9/5): Super adresse - Charmante auberge, restaurant très agréable. Chambre assez petite mais très bien. Attention petit déjeuner à partir de 9h seulement.
- Andrea (8/5): -
- Gary (10/5): - Excellent breakfast & meals. Friendly helpful staff. Cosy accommodation. Good venue
- Chris (7/5): -
- Pamela (9/5): Comfortable inn with exceptional staff and food. - Such a nice old inn, well equipped and super friendly staff. The room was clean, restaurant had excellent food (I had supper and breakfast) and my dogs were welcomed. The bed was a bit saggy and had a ridge in the middle. (Room #4) It wouldn’t have been comfortable for 2 people.
- Cowie (6/5): We enjoyed meeting friends - The cooked breakfast was good. The location was very good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The Inn at Kippen needs a refurbishment. All areas were tired and quite worn in places
- Gavin (7/5): - Staff and food were great Bed was not the best
- Derrick (6/5): - The bed fell apart when I sat on it
- Emma (8/5): Enjoyable - Very old, quaint building, with original architecture and floorboards…under the carpets! The atmosphere felt friendly and welcoming. Nothing - it was very pleasant.
- Johnny (7/5): Great food, nice atmosphere some parts of the hotel and room could benefit from some decorating - Food and staff were great Room a little run down
- Lisa (10/5): Very cosy stay, with friendly staff and fantastic food. - Beautiful old inn. Cosy and comfortable. Food was fantastic, highly recommended! Emily welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed. Nothing it was perfect.
- Elisa (10/5): - Veldig koselig og hyggelig sted! Utrolig god mat!!
- Evert (9/5): - Great service and excellent food
- David (8/5): - Nice big room and good breakfast Lots of dogs in the breakfast room
- Nancy (10/5): - Everything was just lovely
Staff were friendly and helpful
Food was amazing Bed wasn't very comfortable
- Julie (6/5): Recent stay - A very comfortable bed. There was a smell in the room that we could not get rid of even with the window open.
- Catherine (10/5): Kippen Stopover - Staff were great, very helpful. The food was very good, desserts were scrumptious, breakfast was fabulous and bedroom was very comfortable. Nothing to dislike.
- Don (9/5): - Enjoyed the charming old building, with comfortable rooms, great bed, excellent Scottish breakfast and a great meal in the evening.
- Appleby (8/5): -
- David (9/5): - Location, ambience, friendly staff.
- Susanne (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and kind. The room was spacious and felt comfortable. The food in the restaurant was amazing.
- Elizabeth (10/5): I would recommend the Inn at Kippen, excellent facilities - lovely Inn and staff so friendly
- Anne (6/5): -
- Katherine (10/5): - We had a very enjoyable stay at the Kippen Inn. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast each morning. The bar and waitress staff were really helpful in helping us with some bags and even getting us some scales to weigh our luggage for a flight. It was much appreciated. The bar area was fun to to have a chat and the food was very good.
The bed was comfy and the shower had plenty of hot water. In our room it was a combined tub and shower so that may inconvenience someone with mobility issues.
The only thing that may need attention is the wifi because we were sometimes not able to get wifi for the television.
Overall, it was lovely and would not hesitate to return
- JULIE (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with our 2 tiny dogs. - Lovely big room, big comfortable bed - great bathroom with amazing shower.
Helpful and friendly staff
Fantastic breakfast Building is a little tired.
Think walls and creaky floorboards
- Phillip (9/5): -
- yoly (10/5): Doorreis - Vriendelijk personeel, goed bed lekker eten.
Alles in Ordnung.
Super freundliches Personal.
- william (8/5): -
- Flora (10/5): - Lovely inn, very romantic. We loved the decoration of the room. Also, best scottish breakfast we ever had !! Absolutely nothing
- Marian (10/5): - Had a very enjoyable 3 night stay here. Staff and locals were very friendly.
- anita (8/5): - Food was good Staff were nice Bed wasn’t the most comfortable bed we have slept in
- Sandra (10/5): Great Second Overnight Stay - The Inn is very comfortable, good sized bedroom with queen bed, good shower and overlooking the beer garden. Staff are very friendly and food excellent (we had steak) breakfast very good. A shout out to Sean - such a nice guy and so helpful. Emily went above and beyond for us on both stays, she’s a real asset. Thanks guys, we hope to return again. Nothing
- Peter (10/5): -
- Christine (10/5): Dog friendly, good value for money, excellent vegetarian breakfast. - Staff were very helpful and accommodating Could do with a little TLC but staff cheerfulness made up for it.
- Marianne (7/5): -
- David (10/5): This is a revisit hotel on my list. Try it for yourself - On arrival we found out thatTuesday night was steak night. 2 fillet steaks and 2 glasses of wine for £44.90. Whats not to like ?.
Breakfast was every bit as good as our meal last night with a great selection of food including fresh fruit. This is a great hotel hotel at a good price and doing a good job. Iwill use it again when I am next in the area.
Hopefully a Tuesday Absolutly nothing
- Frederick (8/5): Clean and comfortable for a night’s stay. - Good location out of Stirling if you want to be close but in the countryside. Decent bar. Very good breakfast and dinner. Reasonable prices. Rooms and bathrooms could use a bit of a refresh.
We voelden ons erg welkom Het was helemaal prima!
- Lesley (9/5): Friendly staff in a lovely inn located in a beautiful village - Very friendly & helpful staff, beautiful location, amazing food & value for money. Clean & cosy room. Very dog friendly. The property is a little tired - but the friendly staff, great atmosphere & value for money more than made up for this
- Sandra (10/5): Fantastic Inn - Great Stay - Dog Friendly - Food Amazing - We loved the property as it’s set in the quiet village of Kippen. Our room was spacious overlooking the beer garden. Plenty of windows to open and bathroom large and very clean. Extra large bed which was very comfortable. A traditional Inn - spacious dining, beer garden lovely to catch that sun… and very nice breakfast area. The staff are all friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. We ate our evening meal here and it was fabulous - they cater very well for GF. Breakfast lots of choice and again great food. We were able to bring our dog and would highly recommend here. Nothing
Rien

- nigel (10/5): - The Inn was a most comfortable and enjoyable stay in a beautiful village. The dining room offered a selection of well presented and really tasty meals. The steak pie was well received. Our room was spacious and the bed extraordinarily comfortable.
- Rob (8/5): - Old world character and charm. Comfortable bar / restaurant. Room a little tired.
- Patrick (9/5): A delightful and welcoming place to stay. - A very warm and friendly welcome, a spacious and comfortable room, and excellent breakfast. The location is very convenient for a break in a journey, and Kippen is quiet and attractive. Street parking close to the hotel is easy to find. Nothing
- Isabella (10/5): Cosy - The restaurant and the forniture of the room. It was large e comfortable. Nothing
- Martin (9/5): All good - Cosy place Original and genuine
- SULLIVAN (10/5): Quiet, comfortable stay. - Staff were amazingly helpful. Although Kippen isn’t very big, it is drive able to a number of different places including Stirling Castle and the Falkirk Wheel.
- Johncdxb (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, great food and lovely staff. Nothing
