Guest Reviews
- sharon (10/5): Convenient - Very clean
Close to our venue
Friendly staff
- Julia (8/5): -
- Lee (1/5): Never again - Nothing After arriving was told they had a party on and couldn't serve us at all .
No drinks no snacks No mention of this when booking just on day of arrival..
The room was tiny and in desperate need of refurbishment.
The eletric heater fell of the wall at night luckily the bed was so uncomfortable we managed to turn of before a fire started..
The view was lovely some industrial bins and a wall .
The night time bypass will keep you awake with the sound of trucks that's lovely.
Would never return better value for money in town
- David Davensac (9/5): Everything you need for a one night stay - Modern room with an excellent heating and air conditioning system.
Lovely firm bed
Good size television
Toiletries and tea, coffee and biscuits
Plenty of free off-road parking. Nothing. It was perfect for our one-night stay.

- Melanie (10/5): The perfect place for on the way to or from the ferry - The friendliest and most helpful bar staff I have ever had the pleasure to meet. We didn't have an adaptor for our phone charger and Emma, the staff member in question, went to her car and loaned us a charger for the night. Absolute star! There was something sharp in my bed, near my feet, which affected my sleep.
- Michael (10/5): - there was no breakfast, Convenience. It was just what I expected. Nothing
- Dawn (7/5): -
- Michelle (3/5): - The location was near to the venue we were attending. The initial staff member was not welcoming, I was made to wait for the room key, I was not asked for my name or booking reference The room was freezing cold, the heater fell off of the wall when i turned it on, a plug in radiator was put in the room but this did not warm the room, a blow heater was then put in the room but we was not shown how to use it and no instructions were given. Once we worked out how to use this the room became warm by this time we had spent over an hour in a freezing cold room. The iron had something burnt on it that came off on my dress when I ironed it. The toilet was dirty. However the bed was comfortable. There was no staff around when vacating to discuss the issues with. Not a good experience at all.
- Chris (9/5): Clean comfy and good value - Great location
- Terrence (10/5): Highly recommend staying here - Everything, from the simple things like amazing water pressure to the attention to details and amazingly comfortable bedding. Staff made sure we were kept up to date and made our stay easy.
- tony (8/5): - Lovely room Didn't serve food as they said only pizza.
- Mark (9/5): -
- Martin (8/5): - Comfortable room, clean and tidy No breakfast available and no food served at the pub on an evening
- Mark (10/5): Great pub accommodation - We had stayed at the accommodation previously a few years ago, and hence we went back. It was as nice and clean as we remembered. Also, the Staff were very friendly. We would definitely go back if we were in the area again. Nothing but just to note dinner was not available on a Monday night, but we just drove down into Aylesford and had a pleasant, albeit, expensive meal at the Chequers pub.
- Mitch (9/5): -
- Tommy (10/5): I'd stay again! - Friendly and helpful staff, rooms were clean and the beds were super comfy.
- Audrey (7/5): -
- Simon Twilley (8/5): -
- Quentin (8/5): -
- Motorol (8/5): Comfortable and quiet - Great location with quitness Room was not spacious enough as heater is too close to bed and not good for healthy and safety
- Alison (9/5): Comfortable welcoming and kind hosts - The hosts were very lovely and welcoming and there was a lovely calm feel about the place it is well looked after and has all the basic needs for a comfortable stay
- Dorota (10/5): Great place to stay - Comfortable bed. Great place to stay. N/A
- Michael (10/5): - Easy check in, comfy bed, great shower
- Paul (8/5): Family stay- ideal for Edenwood House and Crematorium -
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Michael (8/5): -
- Carla (8/5): -
- Martyn (7/5): - Room was clean & had an en-suite. Room was quite small and nowhere to get something to eat nearby (aside from garage shop).
- Dean (10/5): Very nice polite staff and really enjoyed my stay -
- Linda (7/5): This property was convenient to stay at - The property was near to my location for work and easy to find/locate. The room was ok with bathroom facilities. The bed was comfy The TV did not work on my arrival and on checking, the aerial lead was not connected correctly and when I tried to connect it, it dropped down. I tried to report this as only 5 minutes after I arrived but staff had gone home at 9.50pm. The shelf above the sink/basin was positioned as such that made it difficult to clean one's teeth. The nearby road could be heard.
- Simon (8/5): Review - The hotel was amazing it was clean and comfy, I only stayed for 1 night, the only problem with my room was there was no where to sit and work other then on the bed, a corner desk would fix that when I had a shower and turned the heat up there was no real way to turn it down and they didn’t do food other then pizza but there is a place to eat 5 minutes walk, the staff was amazingly friendly the room was clean the bed was comfy
- Jolanda (8/5): Prima locatie, fijne ontvangst - Ruime parkeergelegenheid, niet afgesloten. De ontvangst was hartelijk en persoonlijk.
Prima kamer, met eigen badkamer. Ieniemienie wastafeltje. Lekker bed.
- Monica (5/5): Passable as bed was comfortable. - The bed was comfortable. Location- The place is sandwiched by 2 v loud / busy fast roads. Also lorry park in lay by and is full of rubbish...Room was very small and shower did not work properly
- claire (10/5): Fabulous - Lovely staff
- Veronique (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, the room was very clean, bed comfortable the and coffe facilities in the room, clean towels Found the shower hard to use
- Nicola (5/5): Passable -
- Phil (5/5): Wasn’t as it was advertised and misled to think I would had a larger room - Location Small tiny room very basic
- Chantal (9/5): Loved it, booking for next year. - Very well presented and clean. Everything we needed, I.e. mini fridge. Nicely decorated and comfortable. Will come again.
- Nicholas (2/5): Dam and in need of an up date - The car park Dam room. Twin beds which we didn’t realise.
- Pete (10/5): - Clean comfortable proprty
- Madeleine (8/5): Very good - Very good size and location Small fridge unit wasn't working
- Neil (8/5): Clean comfortable room at a fair price. -
- Michelle (6/5): Nice room for the price and locality of where we needed. Would I stay again.... yeah maybe. - The lady that greeted me when we arrived was really nice. The room was on the lower ground floor which was bonus as my mum uses sticks. Upon entrance into the room, it looked good. There was tea and coffee making facilities and a tv which seemed to have free Netflix. I know we were at the end of June and a mini heatwave, but the room once hot contained the heat and became very uncomfortable. There was a big window, but I couldn't get it to open all the way. Not the pubs fault, just the weather but it made a pretty nice room become the feeling of very small. The shower was good, if small but plenty of hot water. The towels were fresh and smelt nice and were big so that was really good!
The pub closed for a private function in the evening, and we got home before that had finished but we could not hear any noise, it was really nice and quiet. The bed and the pillows for me wasn't great, but that's more personal opinion. The room upon entry looked clean however when I went to put my shoes back on (after walking bare foot around the room), the soles of my feet were black. It made me think, that the floor hadn't been cleaned so that did put me off a bit.
- James (8/5): - Fairly good, a bit out of the way but very reasonably priced. Kitchen wasn't serving, unfortunately, which is too bad.
- William (5/5): comfortable enough but could have been quieter - There was a loud fan noise all night in the room coming from an exterior wall
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (8/5): Would definitely stay again. Quiet, clean and relaxing accommodation. - Decor was nice, property was very clean and had a welcoming, homely feel. Nice and spacious. Perfect for a night away with friends. It is often hard to find a room that will sleep 3 people so this worked amazingly well. The road the property is on is quite unusual, lots of lorries parked. There was no food being served when we stayed which was a bit of an inconvenience, we went out instead but was a drive away. My friends are certain they heard someone knock on the property door in the early hours of the morning which was a little disconcerting.
- James (7/5): Happy overall but the bathroom needs treatment. - It’s was good for the location and price The room was nice looking but very small and the bathroom, although looking clean, had a smell of mould.
- Montgomery (10/5): Wonderful hotel and pub. - Great, friendly staff. Quiet place to stay. Nothing.
- Matthew (8/5): Nice place, need a proper out-of-hours contact - The accommodation itself couldn't be faulted. Friendly staff, fresh towels daily, all very nice.
I would however strongly recommend an out-of-hours point of contact in the event of getting locked out of the room.
In fairness, it's entirely my own fault that I locked myself out to begin with (won't be forgetting that mistake in a hurry). But if it wasn't for an upstairs tenant being able to get hold of the correct person to let me back in, I would've had no choice but to try to sleep outside.
It's no good listing the pub's number for contact at a time when nobody's available to answer, and this did sour my last night's stay somewhat.
I was very apologetic to Tracey about the disturbance, & had forewarned her about the messages I'd left on the phone before leaving (I hope they were not deemed as anything untoward).
- Rebecca (8/5): Short stay weekend - Great location for near party we were going too. Lighting was poor in bathroom to do make up.
Only one small mirror located in bathroom.
No breakfast facilities
Musty smell in room.
- Justine (5/5): It was convenient location wise for me but was not worth £80 (very small room) and I won’t be returning. - The location was close to the motorway The room smelt damp and the carpet crunched when walked on, I didn’t want to take off my shoes!
- Wayne (7/5): Good - Extremely small!!
- Shaun (9/5): Superb - Felt like a quintessential English pub and inn. Neat and clean rooms, lovely beer garden.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Edmund (10/5): Exceptional -
- joanne (8/5): Snug and cozy - the bed was amazingly snug and comfy - A beautiful end to a day of walking!
- Guy (8/5): Very good - Very clean. Staff very personable. Very comfy bed. Good shower. Had netflix Unfortunately road noise is noticeable. But if you don't mind that, probably the best hotel I have stayed in for a long time.
- Nick (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (7/5): Good -
- Jodelle (8/5): Very good - Comfortable, essentials provided, clean, peaceful Location
- Faheem (8/5): - Value for money, convient location close to motorway links but still quiet and pleasant stay, the bed mattress was a little hard for me which was only issue.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- D (10/5): Cosy little room - Lovely convenient stay, plenty of parking, comfy room, nice shower, will stay again.
- Simon (10/5): Local, convenient get away - Nice quiet, well equipped room, good privacy.
Cosy. The staff in the pub were nice, efficient and friendly, fantastic Sunday lunch and drinks, it suited my requirements, not too far for me to travel to I haven't really got anything to say about, what I didn't like
- Dave (2/5): Nice room no restaurant when I was there - Very basic check in, only had pizza on offer even though booking information said restaurant on site
- Orielia (5/5): Comfortable if you just need a place to sleep. - The property was located across the road from the venue of the event we were attending so it was ideal for us.
The electric radiator warmed up quite quickly which was ideal when the temps dropped. • The bathroom had a musty smell that did not go away
• The heating rack in the bathroom did not work
• The WiFi password provided in the room did not work
• There was no food available at the pub. We arrived around 5pm but couldn’t get food in the pub. The following morning, the pub was locked and did not open even when we left by check out time at 11am
- Wendy (9/5): Lovely venue pub on doorstep - N/a Shower temp exceptionally hot unable to lower but meant quick
- Tracy (5/5): Don’t stay if you require food. - Value for money. Comfortable clean room. Wi-Fi didn’t connect. Food not always available and at only set times. The pub is hired out for events.
- Marcia (6/5): I had a pleasant, comfortable stay (apart from the smell), thank you. - Plenty of parking. Quickly shown to my room by pleasand staff member. The room and bathroom were a good size. The heater quickly heated the room up. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water and had a good flow. The room was clean. Free wifi was available and there was desk space to work at. The heated towel rail in the bathroom did not heat up at all. The bathroom was a good size and clean, however there was a musty damp smell in the bathroom which was unpleasant and did not go away. When I used the shower the water drained away very slowly. I had to turn the shower off and wait for the shower to drain before I could continue as the shower was in danger of overflowing. Perhaps overflowing water from previous users caused the smell.
- Philip (8/5): Very good -
- Glyn (9/5): excellent stay will stay again - large car park no body bothered you very clean and up to date rooms
- Anya (9/5): Superb -
- Robyn (9/5): Superb -
- Orock (10/5): Very lovely accommodation - Clean room, modern and had everything required for a comfortable stay No breakfast
- Lee (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (8/5): - Room was very cold and the heated towel rail didn't work,
But a comfortable bed.
- Sonia (10/5): - We had to book at the last minute due to an emergency family vist in the area,Tracey who greeted us on a late arrival was very friendly and went out of her way to get us some food as the kitchen was closed when we arrived,it was much appreciated.lovely grounds to sit in on the outside and in.we had a dinner the next evening at Mickys dinner just 10 min up the road wich was recommended to us,nice friendly staff and nice food.
- Jack (9/5): No food on Monday Tuesday but landlord still done us pizzas - Clean easy check inn cheap N a
- Jayne (10/5): Perfect stay very pleasant - Great pub, perfect rooms for a stay Nothing
- Ali (6/5): Good value for money if you just need somewhere to sleep. - Good location for the event I was attending. Comfortable bed and clean. No food available and nowhere within walking distance to eat so needed to drive somewhere to get supplies.
Difficult to find how to check in and out as no reception it’s just rooms on the same site as a pub.
- Miranda (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (8/5): - Lovely accommodation, comfy and spacious with everything required. Beds great.
Within feet of very busy road so expect road noise inside and out.
- Andrew (10/5): - Nice pub, nice rooms
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Carrie-anne (10/5): Exceptional - Great parking facilities, friendly staff, comfortable beds, perfect location for what we wanted! The room was very clean. Highly recommend! They don't do breakfast, but Mikey's diner is not far if you want some good grub.
- Deborah (5/5): Disappointing in comparison to last year not sure we will book again for next years annual function we attend. - We have stayed there before but this time it appeared they were very short of staff. Not very efficient staff
- BALDWIN (10/5): Would stay again - Had a great couple of nights here . Friendly staff good beer and in right place for me. Room was nice for the price. Only downside no food but a diner was close by that fulfilled my needs
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good - Nice pub, accommodation was modern and clean, beds were comfortable. Evening food was good and liked that we could walk to the diner up the road to get breakfast Noticed the traffic noise, but that's probably because we live in a quiet street and aren't used to it
- Gary (8/5): - Nice stay, good price, staff friendly
- Charlie (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dorothy (6/5): Convenient to the event - Too near a busy road so had to close windows and no fan
- Garry (8/5): Twin Ensuite room - Had a nice night's stay in a twin bedroom ensuite. Very clean with decent furniture and towels. The ensuite could do with a bit of attention; the temperature control for the shower needs loosening off as it was very hard to change the very hot setting it was stuck on (Scalding). The extractor fan didn't work either. Could do with a fan when the weather is hot as room got very stuffy and hot during the night. Overall a very pleasant stay.
