Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): - Great location-close to many places. Hostess very welcoming and accommodating. Would stay here again.
- CHIE (8/5): -
- Izabela (10/5): - We loved our stay, the place is well maintained and has literally everything you might need! Would 100% recommend:)
- Katinka (10/5): - Magical place! Wish we could have stayed longer.
- Jan (10/5): We loved our stay - Everything. The owners helped us so much. Very helpful Nothing

- Maree (10/5): Fabulous comfy Hanok in a brilliant location! - Everything about this Hanok, and it's location, are fabulous. The beds are comfy and the air con works well. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need, and the washing machine very handy. We had many a relaxing night out in the courtyard..amazed by the peace and quiet of the location.
Cafes and restaurants are plentiful, and very close by. A few small convenience stores are also nearby in easy walking distance. Train stops for a couple of different lines are also an easy walk. The location of this Hanok is perfect..we walked to alot of main attractions, and took a bus or train for those a bit further away (or when we were being a tad lazy!).
The hosts are the most wonderful people..nothing is too much trouble. There was a lovely supply of food including fresh fruit, juice, milk, yoghurt etc on arrival. They do anything to guarantee a relaxing and enjoyable stay..we will always be thankful for Mrs Lee's kindness 💕
Cannot recommend this place highly enough..we are SO pleased we stayed here for our first visit to Seoul. Nothing!
- Damani (3/5): Not comfortable - There was a really bad sewage smell in the master bathroom, the air conditioning was not working properly and there were cockroaches and lots of mosquitoes. We had to checkout a day earlier and stay in a hotel
- Luca (10/5): Fantastic stay in traditional Hanok house in central Seoul - The traditional house was fantastic and the location was great. We really enjoyed our stay. The host and his wife were really welcoming and helpful. All was perfect!

Very good location!
It had everything we could have asked for!
- Tan (10/5): Unforgettable Hanok Stay - Wonderful experience staying in a Hanok. Everything was perfect. it's nice and cosy. Fantastic location. Ownwer was very generous. Provided so much snacks, fruits and juices. Toilet was quite smelly but bearable.
- Michael (10/5): Quiet and comfortable in a stunning traditional house. It has easy access to so many sights and transport - Starting in a traditional house gave an insight into how the Hanok houses functioned. Beautiful natural timbers and paper screened walls. Private courtyard. Warm even during Seoul’s heaviest November snowfall in decades. An absolute delight. Nothing to dislike
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay at NamHyunDang was exceptional. We had a whole house and a outdoor patio to ourselves. The house is a traditional hanok and is really beautiful. I could not imagine a better place to experience Seoul and traditional Korean lifestyle. It was great to sit on the patio and enjoy the sound of the rain.
The rooms are very comfortable, if you are ok with sleeping on a matres on the floor. The bathrooms are small but very clean and have all what you would need. The host is very friendly and helpful and let us use the kitchen when we arrived hungry and tired from the trip. We felt very welcomed there and I wish I can come and stay there again at some point.
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- May (9/5): Superb - Very traditional stay and clean A bit of mosquito but provided with mosquito coil
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Amanda (10/5): A wonderful traditional escape in the middle of the city! - The hanok was absolutely precious! The feel of being in a traditional setting while being in the middle of the city was so refreshing. Everything was well stocked and welcoming, from the manager meeting us at the road to the snacks on the table, the basket of games for the kids to play! It's been thought out well and we felt right at home away from home. The only downside to our stay was it was often hard for the taxi to follow an address- sometimes we were dropped off close, sometimes quite a ways off. That may be an uber issue, and we always found our way back so it wasn't much of an issue, just something to keep in mind!
- Byungkoo (8/5): clean and neat. no closets. shower facility need improvement - Shower facilities
- Ivy (8/5): Peaceful oasis in a great location. - It had the comforts of home. Kitchen was well stocked. Owner provided extra treats. Loved relaxing in the courtyard in the evening. It was a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
- Vsundgren (9/5): We are very happy that we stayed there and experienced living in a traditional Hanok. - The fridge was stocked with several nice things to eat and we ate a nice breakfast.
The place was close to several very nice and interesting restaurants, coffee shops and shops. Also close to transportation and several beautiful sightseeing places.
We were very happy with our stay!
- Yin (7/5): it’s good to have a try and experience of traditional Korean style accommodation. - good location and traditional style. 1.one of my friend was bite a lot by some insects during stay. His situation got better when we moved to hotel. I assume the wooden house has this disadvantage of insects and some smell. 2. host didn’t introduce washing machine to us although it is listed in the booking list. you know, it’s a hot summer.
- Melissa (10/5): Excellent - Wonderful place and hosts and the best location
A real authentic taste of Korea Everything, clean, spacious, great kitchen
- Catherine (10/5): We had a great time! - Everything! The owner is so accommodating and so nice. Nothing
- Olavi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (9/5): Amazing Korean experience! - We had a great stay! Everything was very clean and easy to use. The host was incredibly kind and hospitable. Thank you for a wonderful Korean experience! The property was a bit difficult to find at first, but once we found it, it was easy to navigate back to after a day out exploring the city.
- Ellen (10/5): Exceptional -
- F.javier (10/5): Exceptional - Limpio, tradicional y acogedor
- Hanzel (8/5): Lovely place - The checked us in earlier than the regular time when I requested for it. Mrs Lee was kind enough to let us come. The electric strips for charging were not working.
- Kevin (10/5): Wonderful, friendly host, great traditional accomodations in an unbeatable location. - Loved being able to see and stay in a traditional house. Bonus it was in such a central location, close to everything we wanted to do and see. Host left us some basics for snacks and breakfast we weren't expecting and was great to have. Would have been helpful to have another set of keys, but that was minor and nothing else could be improved.
- Long (6/5): Pleasant -
- Soon (8/5): Very good - The traditional Hanok feel. Neighborhood feel. Unlike typical city hotels. Close to Insadong and Anguk. Not easy to adapt to the traditional sleeping mat. Heating is challenging during winter. Limited space if a lot of luggage.
