- Jacqueline (10/5): It was an excellent stay overall and recommended. - The staff were amazing; helpful, gracious and kind. The in-house Onsen is very nice with indoor and outdoor tubs and a cold pool. The food was well done and plenty of it. The “on-demand“ shuttle to the main part of town and free e-bikes are a nice bonus. Nothing
- Ila (10/5): -
- Daniel (9/5): Loved it. Absolutely would stay here again, and for longer. - It’s very clean, it has many amenities, and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. The setting is serene, and the cafe they take to make sure you have everything you need is wonderful. The ryokan has a hot bath on the property so you could have a wonderful time without needing to ever leave the place. It is unfortunately a little off the beaten path, and so walking to the different baths in town is not something most people will do. Although they do have a shuttle that will take you and pick you up from any and all baths (kind of like a personal taxi for the hotel), the service doesn’t start until 4pm.
- Sonia (9/5): -
- Tiong Guan (9/5): Will be staying here again if I am back. No doubts. - Very spacious the room. Very clean, very nice and comfortable, very hospitable with many free amenities and facilities. Location a bit far off, towards the end of the stretch of onsens
- KITAMURA (10/5): -
- Laura (7/5): A comfortable stay but overall slightly disappointing . - The room was spacious, comfortable and a great traditional experience. Nice seating areas and facilities but bathroom very tired. The staff the were really kind and helpful and the shuttle bus a welcome bonus. The whole hotel felt like it needed updating. A lot of the furniture looked worn and slightly grubby. Although lovely to have a private dining area the kaiseki meal was disappointing both in taste and quality - with the exception of the sashimi. So much so we decided not to take the breakfast we had previously ordered.
- Dave (10/5): Perfect hotel to stay in if visiting Kinosaki Onsen. - Facilities and very friendly helpful staff. Free beer and water in the fridge and free coffee from machine and tea. The Onsen is fantastic as is the lounge with its massage chairs. Free electric bikes makes it very easy to get around. The location is a few minutes from the main sector of the town, which makes it quiet. Nothing . Everything is just great.
- Brett (9/5): Great Ryokan in Kinosaki Onsen - Hotel staff were extremely attentive and friendly, many amenities also included in the stay to help you achieve that true relaxed/vacation feel.
- tan (8/5): - The environment is pleasant .

- Wanyi (Venus) (10/5): Beautiful Ryokan experience - First accomodation and everythinf was AMAZING.
The people were very friendly and kind.
They sat down to explain various things to us such as transport, free to use 24 hours drink station, things to bring to the various onsen, etc.
When you leave the house they will send you off and welcome you back when you return.
They give good recommendation and would even help you book a reservation for dinner.
The room was very clean and comfortable too.
The atmosphere and environment was beautiful.
Their onsen was gorgeous especially the outdoor bath.
100% will be coming back again! The location was a little far to walk but it can be easily solved by calling their private pick up service which last till 10 at various point through out the town.
Was also actually very walkable to and from the station/main area by my standard.

- Patrick (10/5): We felt like part of the family for one weekend - We had the absolute pleasure to be able to stay two nights at Onishiya Suishoen. After having traveled Japan for months already and staying at a dozen Ryokans, I can easily say that the hospitality exceeded anything we experienced anywhere else.
From the warm welcome in the cozy lounge, being guided to the rooms, the friendly staff anywhere in the location, the outstanding food we received - and believe me, our friend who didn’t quite like fish posed quite the challenge, which ended in one of the best dinner we had in our life - to the amazingly kind grandpa driving us around town to the other Onsens. Thank you so much for giving us the privilege of feeling like part of the family for our weekend stay. We will definitely be back! Nothing
- Isidoro (10/5): - Amazing Japanese garden and fantastic onsen in the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was beautiful!
- Sylvia (9/5): -
- Jessica (10/5): Beautiful place to stay with very welcoming and friendly staff - So beautiful! And very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing it was perfect!
- Denise (10/5): This was the best experience of the trip! - This was the highlight of my trip. Their food was amazing, the facilities were clean and beautiful and the staff went beyond the requirements of hospitality.
- Anete (10/5): - Huge dinner, we arrived pretty hungry and still had plenty to eat. Large onsen, many amenities, large room, professional staff
- Viegas (10/5): Estadia excelente. Um ótimo lugar para relaxar. - Tudo muito limpo e organizado. Funcionários simpáticos e hotel muito bonito. Não existe nada que não tenhamos gostado.
- Yu Qi (9/5): I hope to come back again <3 - We loved our stay in onishiya suishoen! There’s free shuttle buses from the train station to take you to your ryokans and afterwards, there are drivers from the ryokan to bring you to and from your choice of onsens in kinosaki. Moreover, the meals are organised in private rooms which is truly a luxury experience for us :)
One thing to note though: dinner preparations were fantastic and I loved the local offerings which was really yummy. However I noticed that I was not asked any dietary questions during my booking process and thus I was served some foods that I could not eat during my meal. Nevertheless, when I brought it up to the staff they were able to help me change out some of the items and I really enjoyed my meal in the end.
The meals were delicious and the room is so comfortable, it’s worth every cent to stay here. The staff is also very welcoming and accommodating and there’s even a coin laundry just a short 3 minute walk away nil
- RITSUKO (6/5): -
- Estelle (10/5): Memorable experience ! - Exactly as described on website, beautiful facility, clean, helpful staff and able to communicate with Google Translate very well, shuttle to/from town centre very available. We stayed three night and a different Japanese style breakfast each day, coffee options available in lobby all day, onsen was terrific. Had the Kaiseiki dinner one night which was delicious and very focussed on seafood if that is a preference, beautifully presented. All was excellent
- Marvin (8/5): Beautiful hotel and onsens with very authentic meals - Wonderful onsen, friendly staff, very spacious rooms, massage chairs, nice amenities, Shuttle service and a beautiful interior well decorated It was a little outside of town although the hotel offered pickup shuttle service in the evening which made up for its location. The pillows were like bags of cement so be warned and the kaiseiki dinner (which was beautiful) was a little too authentic for our tastes.
- Oscar (8/5): -
- Dean (10/5): Amazing, beautiful food, private dining room. - Beautiful place, shuttle bus drivers so good and happy to help, lovely onsen, gentle music in the corridors, lovely decoration and design, room was lovely, massage chairs and refreshing icey poles after the onsen. Private dining room was devine with beautifully presented food,
- Jonnie leahy (10/5): The highlight of a 3 week trip to Japan with the family. - This place is the real deal. We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. The rooms were spectacular. the courtyard was beautiful and being a little out of town was great. The pillows were not my favourite part. Trad Japanese pillows are not for me though.
- Sherry (9/5): -
- Reid (9/5): -
- Mackenzie (9/5): -
- Yuanyuan (9/5): - Cozy and traditional Cost, and location
- Benedikt Hessling (10/5): -
- Francesco (10/5): -
- Fredy (9/5): -
- SAKAI (5/5): -
- Reid (9/5): Impressive service and facilities - The public baths were fantastic, the rooms were beautiful, and the meals and staff were exceptional. The shuttle wasn’t available when advertised (45 minutes earlier than expected)
- Lucia (10/5): - Todo.
- Amy (6/5): A little disappointing - The shared lounge area was nice, and onsen The hotel overall was disappointing for us - it’s out of town on a highway, very unattractive location and feels very disconnected from the lovely town. The rooms themselves felt very cheap - poor quality materials, which we wouldn’t mind if the hotel was cheap but it isn’t! The staff, although well intended, didn’t speak English and so it was very difficult to get basic information eg what the food was we were being served
- Yi-Lin (10/5): -
- William (8/5): - The staff were friendly, the location was great, and the food was superb The futon is rough if you are not used to that sort of thing
- HerrBundesdings (9/5): Great hospitality & authentic ryokan - Very friendly staff in all departments!
Very good & authentic breakfast and dinner.
Authentic japanese ryokan with a nice atmosphere.
Free rental bikes available for getting to the public onsens.
Free water and beer in the rooms.
Nice onsen area.
Although the location is a bit outside of the main Kinosaki Onsen area they provided free shuttle services. Some guests in the hotels own onsen area were not so respectful. We know that is not the fault of the hotel though.
- Wan Ching (10/5): Wonderful Experience - This is the best onsen ryokan I’ve stayed at in Japan.
The room, facilities, service, food, and drinks were all excellent.
We stayed for one night and had a wonderful experience. The only downside is that the ryokan is a bit far from the hot spring street. However, it’s not a big issue as the ryokan provides a shuttle van service. It’s a great service that made things very convenient for us.
- Marcel (10/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): The location is just a little disappointing but the hotel and facilities themselves are good. - It does everything it say a nice stay. Location you either walk to town or use the transport but it stops at 11am starts again at 4pm stops at 10pm so a bit restrictive.
- Kay (10/5): Excellent value for money and a beautiful experience. - A beautiful ryokan with the most helpful and friendly staff. Their facilities, dinner course and general attention to detail were second to none. It was a bit of a walk from the centre, but they provide a shuttle bus.
- Skip (10/5): - Food was excellent. Staff was supurb. Bath and spa ended up being our favorite of our Kinosaki visit.
- Andrew (9/5): A friendly place - All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. There was a lounge where you could have free items to eat and drink. There is a 24 hour coffee machine. The public bath/sauna was little used because everyone went to the ones in town. My room was large. The building was fairly new. Since it was a 28 room ryokan meals, lounge, front desk, and baths were very accessible. A shuttle was available. The distance from the station to the inn is more than 10 minutes. I had to walk back from one of the onsen in town and it took me 30 minutes. Water at the inn smelled of chlorine. Most of the rooms are on the second floor and you have to walk up stairs— no elevator.
- Amy (10/5): Our stay was magical. Such a wonderful experience. - Beautiful central garden and really nice onsen.
- Erica (10/5): - The staff were absolutely amazing with showing me around and what was included on-site for guests. The ryokan's onsen was also glorious and I really enjoyed the cold bath! The kaiseki meal was huge! I had the all-crab meal and it was delicious! Very traditional and tasty.
I loved that the staff set out and put away your futon while you had your meals. I like a stiffer bed so sleeping on a futon on the floor was great for my back. What surprised me was the firm pillow. I didn't think I would like it but it was surprisingly comfortable!
The shuttle bus to the different onsens in town was great! But even then, the ryokan is a short walk to town.
- Benjamas (10/5): -
Tutto perfetto.
- Amber (10/5): - Beautiful place to stay!!!! The center garden was amazing to sit and watch especially at night! From the station to the hotel was like 8-10 minute walk, the hotel offers a bus shuttle service to a few points around town. I come to Kinosaki every year and will definitely be staying at this location again! They also had super friendly staff, the first one tried her best to explain everything (which i would have been just fine with, I was understanding her fine) but then another girl came in who could speak English fluently and went back over everything and answered all our questions. Maybe allow the popsicles to be taken out of the lounge, would be my only criticism and it's really not that big of a deal. But it did feel a little funny sitting around drinking men while sucking on my after soak popsicle... like I giggled at it, I found it funny, but I could see how that could be kinda awkward.
- Samanta (10/5): Tutto eccezionale - Camera tradizionale ampia e pulitissima! Cena kaiseki ottima, da provare assolutamente! Onsen molto grazioso con vasca all’aperto.
- Arswendo (10/5): - The traditional Japanese dinner & breakfast was excellent. For dinner, we have the tajima beef and crab, which are very well worth the price. The breakfast fish and the side dishes are cooked well and very delicious The location is not at the city center. It took 10 minutes walk. The hotel did offer shuttle.
- Balfred (9/5): -
- Maeva (10/5): -
- Liew (10/5): - The staff werel very friendly and warm. They made us feel very welcome and took meticulous care to explain everything to us, ensuring that we have the most excellent stay. The best part are the kaiseki dinner and the breakfast. If you were to stay here, make sure you reserve dinner and breakfast, an experience not to be missed.
. Nothing
- Linh (8/5): -
- Jason (10/5): -
- Joan (9/5): Authentic ryokan treatment on the outskirts of a charming onsen town. - Garden, food, baths.
- Shir (10/5): -
- Sandra (9/5): Amazing and so relaxing and peaceful - The staff were excellent! The facility was excellent! The fact that you could go to a onsen from 5:30 am to 10 or 11 did not stay up that late ! The one supper and one breakfast was very good ! Tried all kinds of new foods ! The beds were traditional and the pillows were made of something that I thought I would not like but I did ! Was a very relaxing and enjoyable stay ! Thanks so much Maybe a couple more western snacks. But that is a preference!
- Martha (10/5): Would highly recommend this Ryokan. - The staff were excellent! Very quiet and calming facility. Tricky for North Americans to sleep on the floor. But the futons were pretty comfortable.
- Stacey (10/5): Unbelievable! A highlight during our 3 week tour of Japan. - The staff, food, and facilities were exceptional! We highly recommend it and hope to return in the future. In the meantime we would like to send a huge “Thank you!” to the entire staff. We loved everything about it. 😊
- Olivier (9/5): - Everything (with one exception). Great staff. Super welcome. Fantastic breakfast in an individual room. Close to the main onsen area (10 min walk). Nice room. The pillows. Filled with some kind of beans. Not unusual in Japan, but not comfortable in my opinion. Room bathroom could benefit from a modernization.
- MIKU (10/5): -
- Iness (10/5): -
- Bannor (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and easily accommodated foreigners
- Cheung Yin Rebecca (10/5): -
- Allaine (8/5): - Very traditional and clean It was a bit expensive
- Mark (10/5): Wonderful onsen stay in Kinosaki - The onsen at the hotel, the gracious staff, the lovely decor and the included meals Futons were too firm. A little bit out of town.
- IZUKI (10/5): -
- Taichi (10/5): A great place for that special someone, anniversary, or even just to relax. Well worth the price. - Exception service from staff
Shuttle service (4pm-10pm). This lodging is 10-15 minute walk away from town and it was very cold (and hard to walk with a geta) so it was appreciated.
Very spacious room, plenty of free amenities, a lot were unexpected (ex. free drinks in the room and lounge).
Isolated, quiet and beautiful maintained inner garden. It really isn't a complaint, but the walk to the main area is a bit long. May also not be best for people with mobility issues since there are some hills and narrow walking areas.
- Ferdy (1/5): Food poisoning ruined the entire experience. - The onsen at the property was very nice. The property is located on a parking lot outside of town. We were expecting an authentic feel but it was just plastic mats instead of real tatami mats. The food looked good but the flavour was not there and I got a bad food poisoning after dinner on our first day at the property.
- Kuanlin (10/5): -
