- John (10/5): Clean rooms and unexpectedly great hotel - The room and front office were very clean. Due to the cost I was expecting less from the hotel, but pleasantly surprised. Will definitely stay here again if the need arises.
- karenfG7050FD (8/5): Great staff and overall experience - To be honest, I've never stayed at a Quality Inn. I had to be in Hartwell for a meeting and this was the closest hotel to where I was going. I wish I could remember the name of the receptionist that greeted me. You would have thought I was walking into the Ritz Colton. She was welcoming, friendly and incredibly helpful. Before I went up to the room, she asked me if I wanted to grab a cup of coffee. The room was pretty basic but very clean. The shower was awesome. I love the shower head and how hot the water got. Breakfast was pretty simple but enough. Make your own waffle, cereal, packaged oatmeal, apples, apple and orange juices. Three women past my table as I ate breakfast. I can honestly say that I have never met a friendlier staff in all of my business travel, which I do quite a bit of. I had a lovely conversation with each of them. I went up to get my bag to leave but wanted to find the housekeeper that was going to clean my room so I could give her a tip. It turned out to be one of the ladies I spoke to earlier during breakfast. We were about the same age and she offered to help me downstairs with my stuff. I politely declined but really appreciated her kindness. I asked for a call from the general manager so I could let him know what a wonderful staff he has. Most people take time to complain but few take a moment to say thank you for a great staff. I look forward to hearing from him.
- 764robint (2/5): Don't go - It could have been worse. But it could definitely have been wayyyy better. At first sight the floors have been updated. At first smell there was enough air freshener going to choke a horse. Turns out that way to cover the smell of all the mold and mildew in the bathroom. The light fixture was gone and the door wouldn't close. It was a fight to get the water in the shower on. The paint was chipped. The ceiling badly patched. And the bedding had bleach stains. And the mattress was lumpy. This place used to be nice. But now it needs a total overhaul. It's not the first time I've stayed here. But it will be the last.

- craig (10/5): - I stay for a couple of nights every year while visiting friends and I am always amazed at the service. Its a clean, quiet budget motel but the service is what blows me away every time. You will feel like you are with family when you stay here. Im a grumpy old man and I complain alot but Im telling you that you wont regret staying here. I travel alot and stay in a varity of hotels from 4 star to 2 star and this is the only place that has ever called me within 10 min of entering my room to make sure everything was okay. Last year I rode in on my Harley and was greated with a cold bottle of water. The man at the front desk saw that I was hot, thirsty and gave me one of his waters from his own personal refrigerator. When in that area, I will never stay anywhere else and its because of the service.

- hmckay76 (10/5): Cozy and Clean in Hartwell, GA - Pet Friendly, clean, and the staff were great. WiFi was good, well lighted parking lot, and breakfast in the morning. Definitely staying here again:) It's also very close to the "hub" of town and eateries.
- patriciafP1938YA (10/5): LOCATION - We put this hotel on our GPS so we could have a good rest before we went to the Georgia guide stones. We traveled from Pennsylvania to see the stones on the way to Savannah. We arrived about 8.30 pm with no reservations. We got a twin double for the three of us. The room was clean and large. The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast the next morning was good. Thank you for your great hospitality. The area was not far away at all from the stones.

- maryannniemeyer (10/5): Will absolutely use this Quality In in the future. - We had a very relaxing evening at the Quality Inn on Franklin Street in Hartwell, GA. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and the room was incredibly clean. New carpeting - yay! The location was perfect as we were there to check out this area for school and work potential. I am especially happy that this hotel offered a hot, high protein breakfast with eggs and sausage gravy available for patrons. There is nothing, actually, that we did not like about this hotel. We slept and woke up refreshed. Took showers in a very well lit and clean bathroom with a nice design. I prefer the vanity to be outside of the bathroom and shower area so I can see myself in the mirror (no shower fog!), and not disturb other family members who are using the restroom/shower. The exhaust fan in the shower area worked well, thank you for that!; the room A.C. worked well. The room smelled very fresh with NO hint of smoke or mustiness. We will for sure be staying here again if the need for a hotel arises because alongside all of this, the price was right.

- Drew3345 (6/5): Absentee Owner Fixes Nothing - I have stayed here a lot over the past year (>50 nights) and have found it to be very good. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, and the housekeeping staff does a fine job. I would have rated this hotel "Very Good", but recent events have knocked it down to "Average". The ice machine has been out of service for two weeks. I happen to know exactly what it takes to fix an ice machine: one phone call. The cable TV has been down this week. This is a big deal when you work long hours and only have an hour or so to wind down in the evening, and an hour to get ready in the morning. It is also a big deal when you need to catch up on your computer work on Sunday - your only day off - and the NFL playoffs are on TV. I happen to know exactly what it takes to fix the cable TV: ONE PHONE CALL. For some strange reason, I am getting the impression that the absentee owner cares little about his guests or about the contract he made at check in.

- DanaMcBr (10/5): Great Place to Stay! - Clean rooms, comfortable beds, small but nice pool with fresh towels poolside. My autistic son has to sleep with his favorite blankets and pillows and after leaving in a hurry one morning, we returned to find the bed made up with his blankets and pillows set up beautifully. He was so excited :-) the lady that cleans the rooms was just over the too nice and the office staff was very attentive to everything we needed. Recommend this hotel 100%.
- betsyj2016 (6/5): Just Fine For Our Needs - This hotel was clean, comfortable, and met our needs. The price was reasonable and included a nice breakfast. It had a nice TV, coffeemaker, and microwave. The doors open to the outside and we had a problem with air coming in through the cracks and making a loud noise. However, maintenance came right away and fixed the problem. There is a small pool behind the hotel but we did not have time to use it.
- travel4scuba (8/5): 5 star Staff - This is a 3 star motel but it's clean. Shower water temperature is a little fickle. The staff however was fantastic. We were there for a race and had to leave early. They started breakfast at 4:30 for us.
- Ranger80 (6/5): Inflated Room Rate - I've stayed at this hotel on past occasions. However I was disappointed in the inflated room cost due to a function sponsored by the FLW. The room was clean however the hot water in the shower fluctuated from ice cold to piping hot.
- RLeave (6/5): Great value, average hotel at a good price - The front desk staff was excellent on check in, the rooms clean. One issue for some travelers is that the doors open to the outside. The internet speed was very good, it is a solid value. Note: it is not the Hilton or a 5 star Marriott, but represents a good value for a small town hotel room.

Our house had just burnt and we had nothing but the clothes on our backs with two small kids. Shannon and the rest of the staff went beyond their duty to make sure we was comfortable until we could find some where else to stay. Thank you to the staff here for making our stay better.

- Bryant864 (8/5): Nothing bad to say. - I had to stay in Hartwell for one night. This hotel was exceptionally clean, that's the most important thing for me. I had no hesitation laying down to sleep on the comfortable king size bed. The room had a very comfy easy chair, and the TV even offered the SEC network! I stayed over on a Saturday night and was able to watch the ball game. It look a little rough driving up on the bad driveway, but there is nothing to fear. It's not five star by any means, but that's not what you're paying for either. I'd stay here again.
- sharonp987 (2/5): Second time I've reviewed this. Terrible - Room was clean but beyond that, terrible. Stayed here and was very disappointed. This review was already removed once. Water is warm in shower till it runs a few minutes and then turns frigid. Happened in the afternoon and then again in the AM. Staff was snappy and disrespectful. Air was either too hot or too cold. Calibration was on about a 10 degree variable. It is in what appears to be an old Jameson Inn where you have to drive down a potholed driveway or through a restaurant parking lot to get to.
- goingApe2016 (2/5): Less than Quality Inn - A group of us were in town for our annual family reunion. We usually stay at the Best Western, but it is being renovated so we decided to stay here. What a mistake! I was traveling with my mom, aunt and uncle who are between 85-90 years old. Our reserved handicapped rooms had one king sized bed in each. When we made the reservation, we were told I could have a cot, but the staff said they did not have them at this location. I would have slept on an air mattress from WalMart, but there was not room to put it on the floor! Handicapped bathrooms had grab bars and were large, but had highsided tubs- only one had a portable bath bench. The evening clerk said they had walk-in showers - a bald-faced lie!! The hair dryer in one room had been dropped and was literally repaired with duct tape and cardboard - right next to the heating coil!! Can you say fire hazard? My key card repeatedly did not work, so when checking on my family, I had to leave my room open and unlocked, or get the clerk to open it with the old-fashioned passkey (clerks not always easy to find either). Even the housekeepers keycards did not work - the first day my room did not even get cleaned! Only adjoining rooms were on 2nd floor - no elevator. We booked at least 6 rooms and were there 2-3 nights. Never again! I can only pray the Best Western is ready by next June. If not, we will stay in Anderson, SC. The stress level from having to leave my room not just unlocked but open, and worrying about my relatives staying without me in the room were tremendous. I complained to the managers, and they reprogrammed the keycards several times - after 5-10 minutes they would no longer work! I was told they could do nothing about repairing the locks as the owner was out of town. The morning breakfast was ok, but less than appetizing when I saw that every day they used the breakfast tables to sort and fold laundry, which was washed in an adjoining room. I am also going to contact Quality Inn Corporate offices and tell them this hotel is giving them a bad name - they should throw them out of the company! I thought they should at least comp us for the extra room we had to reserve. Day manager took my name and phone number and said she would get back to me, but no word after waiting one week! My uncle gave up his room and booked another, so I could at least be next door to my mom/aunt if they needed me. They would not even make ANY adjustment to our bill! Other relatives had problems as well. One room had the temp set at climate control set at 72 and could not be altered. Another room also had problems with key cards. Rooms had reportedly been recently renovated, but the quality of furnishings was very poor and inconsistent from room to room. Fruit flies infested all the rooms. Towels and sheets were old and worn. Day supervisor and housekeeping staff were very nice, helpful and tried their best to help us. Rooms were clean, wifi did work,but I cannot ever stay there again.
- dhayw6831 (4/5): Clean hotel. Very poor staff - We had a group block for a graduation over Memorial Day weekend (9 rooms). NONE of the rooms were together (or even near each other). The Front Desk did not know how to make DUPLICATE keys. They made new keys for anyone who asked (without asking for identification). Made me feel very unsafe. Charged one of our rooms to someone else's credit card. Closed the pool one hour early Saturday night ( not for weather). When we asked if it could be reopened for the hour, we were told rudely NO. Obviously this team needs a lot of training in customer service.

- Terry (8/5): Good rate, good hotel - I stayed there because it was reasonable. I was attending a Clemson football game and hotels in Clemson are pretty limited. It was just fine. A lot of bass fishermen staying there for a local tournament but parking was fine despite the boat trailers they brought.

The housekeeping staff seems to go a good job cleaning and the bed/sheets were nice and clean but the overall hotel needs a lot of maintenance and bug control!

I was very pleased with the staff, cleanliness, restaurant and everything else at the Inn. I not only would and will stay again but would recommend this place to anyone.

- SDMDMD (4/5): Bike Race Stay - Hotel claimed I did not have an Expedia reservation. I showed the clerk my reservation confirmation and they said it was not "in their system and that happens a lot with Expedia". I've never had a problem with Expedia prior to this. Hotel charged $15 more than Expedia rate. Told us we had a non-smoking room. It wasn't- smelled like an ash tray.
- Mark (6/5): Quick trip - For the price, you can't beat it. Stayed there for a quick trip to pick up my son from college and drive him home. The breakfast was fine and saved us from spending more money.

When I arrived there was no indoor pool and they simply said Expedia would say anything to book a room. Expedia has been very good about my disappointing experience where the hotel has not!

Nothing looks as if it's been updated in the past 20 years, but I didn't encounter anything so repulsive as to make me not want to sleep there at all. I only had to stay one night and I'm glad for that!
- Bassnstan (8/5): No parking - The personnel were excellent, but the facility needs up keeping. All of my friend and i are tournament anglers and booked the hotel because it was near the ramp. Unfortunately there was no enough parking or electrical outlets for everyone. The staff did all they could to assist, but they cant build a parking lot.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great for the price. - Room was clean and comfortable. Upgraded TV would have been nice, but for the price we would return when in the area.
- charles (4/5): The only place to stay - The staff were nice. I was given a smoking room, which was fine, but the blankets had burns in them. The trash hadn't been emptied. The towels were in the middle of the bathroom floor. The toilet paper was half used and ran out halfway through my two night stay. I had to purchase my own toilet paper. I didn't wear shoes in the room and after taking a shower noticed that my feet were nasty. I didn't leave the room, so it had to be nasty carpet. I didn't get new towels. I was also charged extra tax. Even though Expedia said the price was tax included. The breakfast was nothing but sweets. I wasn't expecting much from the breakfast though. The pool was small, but it is good for kids. The toilet tank leaked somewhat ( not on the floor ) and would fill up multiple times through the night. The air conditioner worked extremely well. This is a definite motel and not an "INN". The pictures are misleading. If you need a place to crash, it is fine. Don't expect much though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): BYO Decaf - Clean, but no decaf coffee available in the room or at breakfast, and breakfast consisted of only simple carbs (breads, waffles and cereals) and juices. No yogurt, eggs, or fruit as in other continental breakfasts.
- Big group (8/5): Good Experience - Stayed 2 nights. Room was clean and did not have any type of odor. The pool is a little small, but nice. There is a workout room (we did not use) and the lobby area was very clean and well presented. We would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Customer comments. - The lavatory in my room was very slow to drain. The bed spread was torn. The chairs at the breakfast table had white circle stains in the seat area. The curtains at the window would not close properly. The breakfast area of the hotel could use some improvement with more varitey and/or selection of food to eat. The entrance to the inn was well off the road behind some other small businesses. These businesses obscured your view of the inn from the road. The road to the inn was full of large pot holes which made it a single lane road entrance. The road is in need of serious repair. You had to look real carefully to see the Jameson sign from the road. Typical Jameson Inns usually have a white column overhead entrance to the inn. This particular inn did not have this making it hard to find.

- Stephanie (8/5): Sufficient for What I Needed - Housekeeping was AWFUL! We left the room Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. for a 65-mile bike ride and was really looking forward to a nice hot shower with clean towels upon our return to the room. When we returned to the room at 2:00 p.m., nothing had been done to our room - only our dirty towels had been picked up. No clean towels were left in the room so my brother-in-law had to go downstairs to the housekeeper who was sitting on her butt smoking a cigarette to ask for some clean towels for our room. That hotel is NOT that big and surely our room should have been cleaned, beds made and new towels placed in our room WAY before we returned at 2 p.m. Other than that, the hotel was sufficient for what we needed that weekend. It was convenient, served a pretty decent breakfast and was in our price range.
