Yasani (10/5): Would go back there in a heartbeat - Loved absolutely everything about Mashpi Lodge. From the moment they picked me up in Quito to the time I was dropped off, I felt genuinely cared for and completely looked after. What really stood out was how seamless and personalized the whole experience felt. There are so many guided activities and nature experiences (hikes, wildlife viewing, canopy adventures, and more), and everything was incredibly well organized and thoughtfully coordinated. The rooms are comfortable, the food is delicious, and the staff is truly exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making your stay unforgettable. Mashpi isn’t just a hotel; it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I can not think of anything that needs improvement.

James (10/5): Hard to top. - This unique property is absolutely amazing. The facilities were all top notch and the staff was super friendly and so helpful. It is a 3 hr drive from Quito with the last part being bumpy roads so I would not recommend driving yourself but the place is well worth the drive. Such a fantastic life experience being in the middle of a 7000 acre rain forest all to yourself and a select few other guests. Bumpy road getting there but I guess that is part of the charm. Feels like Jurassic Park

Antonia (10/5): Fantastic place with all the comforts and great food! - This is probably the best hotel we stayed in Ecuador. The place is stunning, surrounded by 1000 hectares of cloud forest yet you feel absolutely safe and comfortable inside. Everyone is kind and professional, food was exceptional (and I am Italian and not easy to please :)…), the rooms are spacious and comfortable, there is 24 hr room service and a in-house doctor, a library, a cute boutique shop and they offer a spa and hot tub to relax. Guides are well prepared and very kind! We had Jonathan and loved the activities together. Perhaps they could make the decor in the rooms and common areas a bit warmer and more colourful and enlarge a bit the spa area. Also, we had 2 flat tires so perhaps the cars to get there need to be checked more often. But all in all a fantastic place, I’d be glad to come back.

Elizabeth (10/5): Has to be the best hotel in the world... - This has to be the best hotel in the world. I'll give you 3 reasons: 1. The people The whole team at Mashpi is just incredible, the service is world class and i felt like one of the family from the moment i arrived. Marc and the rest of the team lead and inspire an enthusiastic young team of passionate staff members and it's a privilege to see. 2. The Nature Take the hotel away, and where its built, i could have slept in a tent and i would have been happy. The forest is enchanting. The story of the lodge is captivating and inspiring, if only more millionaires bought ex-logging land and rewilded it! I saw so many wonderful things, colourful birds, cute little frogs, cheeky mammals, i was not disappointed. Not only this, but the trails and waterfalls and they way they are spread throughout the reserve, accessing the beauty of nature has never been easier. And the dragonfly... i wont spoil it, just see for yourself! 3. The Experience And as if having a luxury hotel in the middle of a stunning cloud forest wasnt enough for you, there's the whole experience. From the minute i was collected by my driver Diego the experience started. The expedition team lead by Juan Carlos make everything so accessible. Small groups and completely flexibility, they support you in all your choices and do their best to make your experience personal and fulfilling. Before this trip, I imagined it would be a "once in a life time". Now I'm planning how to come back every year. See you soon Mashpi!
Sarah (10/5): Must see - Mashpi was a dream. The rainforest is sooooo nice. Javier our tour guide was awesome and took us to see everything we wanted. The staff at Mashpi are ALL awesome. From the moment you arrive you are greeted. In our rooms they had personalized thermal bottles. When we left they gave us to go packed lunches. I can’t brag about this place enough. It’s a must

Waffles (10/5): - The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, which makes the property so unique. It is a beautiful hotel and the entire staff were welcoming and accommodating. All meals, round trip ground transport, guides, and expeditions are included in the exorbitant rate. The Dragonfly open-air cable ride AKA teleférico, is an additional $48. The hotel rooms are very comfortable and have floor-to-ceiling windows with unobstructed views. The food was delicious. Boots and ponchos are also provided and very much needed as it rains an average of 19 feet-per-year in Mashpi.

Robert (10/5): Unique eco lodge - Stayed at Mashpi for a few days at the end of our trip to Ecuador. It is a beautiful, unique place where you can commune with nature. The service is impeccable. The staff is excellent. They have organized activities every morning and afternoon. You can hike, ride a sky bike over the. Loud forest, visit hummingbirds or butterflies. If you don’t feel like doing anything you can just hang out and read or look for wildlife on the terrace or overhang, or you can book a hot tub. It’s very very very expensive.
