This well appointed ground floor apartment is in a converted listed small barn in the courtyard of the Grade 11* Listed house. The apartment has an antique brass double bed with daybed sofa (converts to single), dining table and a 32-inch smart TV with complimentary fast wifi. The spacious bathroom has powerful rainfall & handheld shower (small step to enter) with fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. The kitchen is well equipped with an induction hob, fan oven, microwave, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, and fridge. Milk, a selection of teas, coffee and breakfast cereals are provided as a welcome to help you settle in the room. Outside is a small dining area with access to the shared garden. This room is self-catering, is perfect for couples, friends or families wanting separate beds and has access to a washing machine on site. Ideal for short-term breaks or longer-term rental if working away from home. We accept dogs 'on request only' in this room.

The Stables is in a converted barn in the private courtyard of the main house full of period character and available as self-catering. One double galleried bedroom with an en-suite shower room and one twin bedroom with an private bathroom, with a separate shower and bath. Ground floor sitting room containing a comfortable sofa and chair, smart 40" TV with dining area, and a fully well equipped separate kitchen. Please note that the galleried bedroom features a low beam and is accessed via stairs. Therefore it may not be suitable for guests with mobility impairment. Pets are not allowed in this apartment.

- Coral (10/5): Excellent! - We absolutely loved our stay at The Old Parsonage. James was incredibly polite and helpful throughout our visit. There was plenty of parking available, and we stayed in The Nook, which had everything we needed. It was spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped. We slept really well in the bed, and the shower had amazing water pressure. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and would rate our stay as excellent.

We also enjoyed relaxing in the lounge and dining area. Bathrooms are well equipped with good shower facilities. Location is excellent for exploring Bath, Bradford on Avon, Well and the Mendips. Parking is right outside front door. Many thanks for a lovely stay We didn't do any cooking but if we had a dishwasher would be nice.

The self catering kitchen was perfect, so I could eat affordably and healthily. Nice bed. Got advice off owner where to go for short runs in the stunning countryside. I'd recommend for a work stayover but also family stays. Flawless. Thank you. Nothing.

There is a pub about 2 minutes walk away (served nice food) and a Co-op supermarket 2 minutes away. We didn't go to the farm shop, but it is only 3-4 minutes walk away. The Old Parsonage is a great base for exploring Bath, Wells and Glastonbury. I can highly recommend staying there. There was nothing to dislike.

- DayTrip618469 (10/5): Just heaven - My brother and I recently stayed in The Stables which is a self catering part of The Old Parsonage just across the courtyard from the main house. Everything was just first class. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms - mine on the ground floor was spacious with plenty of storage space and a bath and separate shower. My brother was upstairs where a quirky beam had to be negotiated. I think the lovely building may be Listed so the beam may stay! He also had a separate bathroom beside his bed and was very happy up there. The kitchen was well fitted out with some supplies kindly left for us. I had previously stayed in The Nook (also self catering) next door which is for one person and I had everything I could wish for in beautiful surroundings. I can’t recommend this place highly enough and hope to return.

Very clean and comfortable accommodation that had everything you needed for a short stay. If I am working in that area again I wouldn't hesitate to rebook and return to the Old Parsonage.

Unfortunately we had booked the one night only to attend a party and would have liked to stay longer in such a lovely place and explore the fabulous area- hopefully next time!

- James (10/5): I would highly recommend staying here. 20minutes from Bath park and ride. Massive Tesco down the road. The host was love - It was a very comfortable space, In a lovely location, the room was absolutely spotless and the mattress was very comfortable. Lovely shower aswell! The only 2 things that stood out were the lights in the weren’t to my personal taste, i feel it needed more lamps in the kitchen area and also the front door was a bit sticky but I think it was due to the draft excluder.

- Anton (10/5): Great heritage, classic English countryside, cozy nook - James is friendly and very helpful host and met us personally upon our late arrival in the midst of Halloween celebrations. Our amazing Nook (converted from barn and stables) was very cozy, clean and tidy. The room itself is pretty small, but the layout is very well designed, so it doesn't feel cramped at all. It has everything we need for our short self-catering stay. Gorgeous main house and beautiful premises and surroundings. Free parking. Charging station for EVs. Excellent overall location for those who would like to explore the surrounding countryside - Frome, Bath, Wells; or for motorsport fans - Castle Combe race track; or music fans - Glastonbury - all those locations are not very far from here.

- Max (10/5): Perfekt - Die Unterkunft ist genial. Ein wundervolles altes Haus mit viel Charakter, liebevoll eingerichtet. Nachts ist es sehr ruhig, sodass man gut schlafen kann. Host James zaubert ein vorzügliches Frühstück und ist auch sonst mit Rat und Tat und vielen guten Tipps für Unternehmungen oder Restaurants in der Region zur Stelle. Und dann gibt es da noch Fergus, den kleinen süßen Hund. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Wenn es eine Sache gibt, die noch verbessert werden könnte, dann das WiFi. Es ist manchmal etwas hackelig - aber es ist eben auch ein altes Haus mit dicken Wänden.

The staff were extremely kind and the breakfast was delicious! The bed is quite narrow, as it’s a historic one, so not the most comfortable but perfectly fine for one night.

- Linda (10/5): Wonderful stay. - The house is wonderful. Full of history and the owners are very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast and very quiet room on the ground floor. Bed was really comfortable. Our room had a separate private bathroom, but it was across the corridor. They did provide dressing gowns but a bit inconvenient as at night I was worried who I was going to bump into.

We stayed in the Edward room for a couple of nights. Lovely spacious room with private bathroom across corridor for our sole use. Breakfast was very good - well presented, tasty and plenty of choice. B&B is in a good location with bus stop close by for buses into Bristol or Bath. There is a pub across the road and an Indian restaurant in the village. Found both to be very good. Nice walks around the village. Would definitely recommend.

James himself is welcoming and engaging — a real pleasure to chat with. Breakfast, which is always a key part of our stay, was spot on. The full English vegetarian breakfast was a standout — delicious and satisfying. There was also fresh fruit, granola, toast, juice, and more, all beautifully presented in the atmospheric 300-year-old dining room. The modern bathroom, though located just across a corridor, was exclusively ours. It was well equipped with quality cleansing products, and robes were thoughtfully provided for the short journey across the hall. The property is surrounded by walled gardens, which we were welcome to enjoy. Sadly a relatively busy road passes the property but everything has been done to minimise the road noise in the room and for us was of no concern. Thank you, James, for a truly lovely stay — and for your patience when I incompetently entered our arrival time as 3 a.m. instead of 3 p.m.! Highly recommended.

It’s cozy, comfortable, and visually charming — in my opinion, it has everything one could look for in this area. The vibe is super positive and relaxed: the perfect pause in a road trip, especially if you’ve been driving. What really made the experience even better was the host — incredibly kind, attentive, quick to help, and genuinely welcoming. And to top it all off, we got to meet the house puppy, who absolutely made our day and turned this stop into our favorite one on the journey

Just a pity it’s beside a fai - The Old Parsonage is a beautiful, historic building in pretty grounds in Farrington Guerney. It has huge charm and is very comfortable. Our room was spacious and well-appointed. The breakfast is superb and the host could not have been nicer. The one draw/back for us was the traffic noise from a fairly busy through road beside the property. The traffic noise. Otherwise nothing.

- D431LYpaulk (10/5): A perfect base from which to explore the Mendips and beyond. - Probably the most relaxing short break we have had in the U.K and that's all due to the fact that there was nothing at The Old Parsonage that could cause any stress or discomfort. From the minute James welcomed us in the garden of this superb property we knew we had picked the right location for our 40th anniversary long weekend. Each room has been lovingly and tastefully furnished and each is unique in style, with a bed you could almost dive into to the plentiful storage space. It is the perfect base for trips around the area, the village itself is well worth wandering around before a short walk to the local where the locals themselves could not have been friendlier to strangers. James offered suggestions on places to visit and on the use of local transport which gave us a wonderful view of the rolling Mendips on the 50 minute trip into and out of Bristol. Breakfasts were superb with plenty of choice and the bacon sandwich on the last day capped things of perfectly. The hosts have worked hard to create something unique and very special and we were the grateful beneficiaries of that.
- Paul (10/5): The perfect base for visiting and exploring the Mendips, Quantocks and Levels. - I would like to buy whichever algorithm suggested The Old Parsonage as a base for a five day tour around Somerset a pint, because it was an inspired choice. Once you have finished feasting your eyes on the fascinating Queen Anne style exterior you enter a property that has been tastefully furnished with furniture lovingly curated by your hosts, each room is unique and exudes its own charm and style. James looked after us during our stay, and you couldn't wish for a more friendly, helpful and accommodating host. We stayed in 'Edward' which despite being within a hundred yards of a main road was quiet, the room was perfectly furnished with plenty of storage space and a bed that sent me to sleep in minutes. Breakfasts were as good as everybody else has noted and James makes a mean bacon sandwich. The host family have worked hard at creating something special and I wouldn't hesitate recommending it for a stay. It is perfectly placed for Bristol, Bath, Wells and so many other places. James suggested the frequent bus service to Bristol and for £3 each way per person the views from the top deck simply couldn't be seen or beaten from a car.

- Joanne (8/5): Lovely location, clean comfy property, host friendly, good facilities. - Location was lovely. We stayed in the Nook which was very clean and had everything we needed. It also had a lovely comfy bed with really nice bedding and pillows. The shower was lovely with great water pressure. Owner was very friendly and helpful. The only down side I found was that check in was too late (between 5-9pm). There was the option to get an earlier check in and later check out at an additional cost which I found a little unusual. We travel often and most places check in is from 3 and check out is 11. Wasn’t the end of the world but worth noting.

- Charles (10/5): A wonderful experience in a historic manor. - Beautiful historic manor furnished with tasteful antiques. Our room was very warm and relaxing. The bath is modern and immaculate. The parlor and dining room were bright and cozy with wonderful treasures to explore. We enjoyed spending time reading and conversing there. James was very friendly and gracious, offering information, history and advice on how to explore the surrounding area. The breakfast was tremendous. The garden was beautiful. The location is excellent on a dead end just slightly off the main road, short steps to a great pub, and proximal to Bath, Wells, Glastonbury, and countless beautiful villages, historic and ancient sites, and the beautiful countryside. I didn't like leaving.
