- Sarah (10/5): - Lovely stay booked last minute working in the area, very comfortable accommodation.
- Charlotte (9/5): Comfortable short stay in a homely and well stocked B&B. - Having a personal breakfast bar and mini-fridge in my room was perfect for my early starts as to not disrupt the other guests staying at Abacus. Though the kitchen was in the property next door, It was always kept extremely clean and tidy with a well stocked fridge and shared breakfast bar. The oven was clean, and so were the sink and bins. The bedroom was heated upon arrival too, which was perfect after a cold day of work! The bathroom facilities were slightly on the smaller size which was okay for my short stay, but might not be as comfortable for a longer stay. However, the bathrooms were kept clean throughout.
The bed did seem to have some fine animal hair (maybe cat?) on the bedding, but this was easily removed.
- Liana (9/5): I felt safe and welcome. - The room was lovely. Very clean. Bed very comfortable. Good continental breakfast. Good communication with the proprietor. No ensuite. Gravel parking area.
- Adenekan (8/5): valur for money - location was good .Breakfast was good Nothing

- Greaves (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay here. Jane was friendly and helpful. The breakfast is self serve and avaliable 24/7 which is perfect for a late check in. Coco-pops for dinner! Was well located for me, and the quiet road meant a peacful night.
Would stay here again. Highly recomend.

- Venanzio (10/5): - It is a very comfortable accommodation with a friendly and helpful host. I had a nice clean room. Good kitchen facilities. Silent neighbourhood. Very good price.
- Jim (10/5): Jane was very warm and welcoming a really nice place to stay. - Everything was clean and tidy
- Taren (10/5): Nice room and an absolute bargain for the price! - Ground floor and room was very tidy and clean Only thing I would change is the pillows are flat and not fluffy. However that’s personal preference.
- Loveth (9/5): My stay was amazing , the Man I met on arrival was so kind to open and show me the room I am to stay - It’s clean I was afraid because of the location
Thought it was not genuine, but when I woke up and realised it was genuine I became happy and comfortable
- Bill (10/5): -
- Ben (9/5): - The room was nice, spacious, the option to have breakfast nearby was nice. Wasn't there long enough to comment on anything else. Understandable you can't do anything about the location. Potentially offer a bit more information on which rooms were utility? I'm not sure if I missed it, but I was worried on if I disturbed any of the other guests trying to find the ablutions, toilet etc. A small thing really.
- James (10/5): Close to town but in a very peaceful , wooded location. Superb host, lovely room, everything provided or on hand.,HIGHLY - Quiet area surrounded by woods. Easy to get to. And it had everything.Jane, the host, had thought of everything. Nothing not to not like
- Alexander Henderson (5/5): Cosy and clean, let down by the terrible mattress. - Check-in was easy, it was self self-check-in in so no one to greet you, which was fine and what I expected. It was very clean and cosy, and the breakfast items were good The bed was so uncomfortable, like sleeping on a slab of lumpy concrete. Being a side sleeper, I woke up a few times in the night with sore hips and was sore the next morning.
- Ian (8/5): Nice, clean cheap and cheerful b &b. Help yourself breakfast inc proper coffee very welcome. Jane is a nice person. -

- Alisha (10/5): Clean, comfortable, excellent customer service, and go above and beyond for their guests - It exceeded my expectations owner went above and beyond to answer questions 24/7 and cater to every need or adjustment I requested. It felt so comfortable and the customer service was just exceptional. It was very clean, cleaned everyday for the 5 days I was there for and facilities were excellent. Just an overall positive experience. Loved everything no complaints
- Handley (10/5): Welcoming, generous and cozy, what more could you ask for. - Owner was very welcoming and friendly, kitchen was stocked and had a good variety available for the clients staying, toilet and shower were perfectly sound too.
Rooms are cozy and clean, lovely touch with the extras in the mini fridge and side table.
Brilliant WiFi too. I stayed in the summer which was rather warm, as the rooms are upstairs they’re close to the roof, so at times it did become unbearably hot due the summer heat and not having much of a way to cool down, but other than that great stuff.

- Estelle (8/5): Great find! I’ll be back next time I’m in the area! - Conveniently situated, near to Gibraltar Barracks/Blackwater where I travelling for business. Quiet location which allowed for late arrival and early departure but still provided breakfast (self serve). Easy check-in using instructions given via text (I never actually saw any staff). My single room upstairs was comfortable with access to a small shower room downstairs. Everything that I needed for one night’s stay. The weather had been incredibly hot the previous few days and my room, situated under the eaves, was uncomfortably warm. Although a window had been left open (thank you!), the use of a fan would have helped.
- Woodstock212 (10/5): - Great stay Nice and quiet.
- Raziq (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Al (9/5): i'd stay again if in the area - quietness at night no bottle opener in room, ticking clock at night
- Diana (10/5): Fantastic stay in idyllic location - The property is situated in a great quiet location with access to forrest walks, clear directions provided. Clean rooms, free parking. Kitchen with all utilities for self catering available, breakfast items such as cereal, milk, orange juice, pastries, etc. supplied. Very short distance to town and many shops such as Tesco Extra, M&S and next. Very good value for the area. Amazing friendly host. Highly recommend.
- Simonas (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Manjit (8/5): Comfortable room, good facilities. Served the purpose of a short visit for the night - Comfy room, clean ,tidy & warm. Small shower rooms., with tiny floor matt’s and floors wet.
- Emily (10/5): Lovely quiet cottage with all amenities provided that you could ask for. - Breakfast was included, which was fantastic and very thoughtful. There were also some snacks in the room. The housekeeper was lovely and helpful. The owner was easy to get in touch with if there were any issues. The Wi-Fi was included in the price, which was also a bonus. There was a TV in the room and a desk which was also great. The bathrooms were a bit of a tight squeeze, but that was not a significant issue.
- Furness (8/5): Perfect for a business trip stay over. - It was clean warm and quiet. I also like the view into the woods, and its perfectly located for easy access to Cambereley Nothing not to like
- Unigwe (5/5): I won't be visiting again - The room was of a reasonable size The sharing of bathroom is not an experience I want to repeat. To make matters worse, the toilet and bathroom in at the ground floor and the room is upstairs. Also the toilet space is too small, you have to squeeze your legs and the bathroom cubicle is too small too
- Jaksic (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (8/5): Good place to stay for business trip - Nice place to stay for business purposes. value for money, could not fault really.
- Lucille (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fraser (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): One night visit - I was really pleased with the accommodation, and found it really nice. I was dropped off, so did not require the parking which was directly outside and free. The room was comfortable, breakfast bits provided and the shower facilities although not ensuite were at hand and served me well. I would stay again.

- Daramola (10/5): It's recommended for lodging - Hospitality is super excellent. Is home away from home treatment, comfortability is exceptionally worth price. I will always lodge there, makes me feel at home. I don't have opportunity of having proper breakfast because of my timing of leaving in the morning

- Tracey (10/5): To me this place was perfect! Better value than an airb&b and privacy and everything there for you. - I love the whole set up of breakfast. There’s a variety of cereals and pastries in the room or you can also use the kitchen where there’s cereals, bread, eggs and everything you need so there’s no time restriction.
So relaxing and great value for money.
I could also do my own meals in the kitchen.
Beautiful location in a wooded area where I went out for walks everyday.. so quiet and peaceful but at the same time near enough to town centres.
Jane is a lovely host and always at the end of the phone so you still have your privacy. The ladies who come and service the rooms are very friendly. Nothing!
- Abdul (6/5): Pleasant -
- ewan (8/5): - Beds are Very comfortable, very clean and the dsily stock up on Pastry, buscuits and milk ect. Is a brilliant touch.
- Furness (8/5): Nice quiet area, comfortable bed and decent selection for breakfast. - It was quite a strange set up, that I've not really ever experienced before. You arrive at a building down a single lane MOD track in the middle of the woods, you put a code in the front door to get in, and then you find a key in the lock for your room. I didn't meet anyone for my whole stay. It's perfect if you don't like speaking to people. I loved it.
- Robert (6/5): - Abacus is certainly good for the price point, but I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than a couple of days. The room was OK, small and smelled a little odd (I think because of the fridge) but otherwise mostly clean and comfortable. The owner was friendly. Included breakfast was a bonus.
WiFi was patchy, which I would normally overlook, but given the mobile reception in the area is bad, it did create a problem.
The biggest problem is the shared bathrooms. They're more like tiny cupboards that you can barely move in, and both somehow have a toilet, shower and sink crammed in. They're kept quite clean but given that you have to do some gymnastics to avoid putting your foot in the toilet when getting out of the shower really isn't great.
Could do with a bit of a refresh (and a thorough review of the bathroom situation), but otherwise good.
- Maureen (8/5): Overall good & lady in charge very pleasant - Pretty good choices Maybe weetabix & shredded wheat
- Janette (7/5): Good -
- Patrick (10/5): A peaceful location right by the forest. Jane was kind and accommodating. A real pleasure to stay here. -
- Neil (8/5): Very good -
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional - Just felt like home from home would always choose their before anywhere else There's nothing to dislike
- Tarik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mat19771 (8/5): Good work stay - Quiet location, and room. Good parking, pretty good value for short notice booking. Room was very clean and well decorated - TV worked well.
- Rachel (8/5): a great stay - It was in a good location and very spacious.
- Dean (8/5): Very good -
- Carlos (9/5): Superb -
- Muhammad (9/5): Superb - Cleanliness and calmness of location It's bit off the grid
- Mobashir (7/5): Although it was very warm at night, a fan was provided. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Abacus. - Room was clean and tidy. And bed was very comfortable.
- Sam (8/5): Very good -
- Chukwu (9/5): Superb -
- Gladys (8/5): Very good - Attentive friendly hosts. Great location with amenities onsite to entertain the family. Not all amenities on premises are included though so you should be aware of that additional cost. There was an additional £30 cost for bed linens? That seemed odd given most foreign travellers would not travel with such things. We already had to book an extra night as their is a minimum requirement which is understandable but topped with an unknown cost was a bit disappointing.
- Lee (10/5): Great!!! - Breakfast was lovely and I didn’t really see what the area was like. But looked nice. N/a
- Stephanie (8/5): Lovely stay. - It was well kept, and I loved the complimentary snacks. It was such a lovely stay, and a very comfy bed. It was very cold, I did have to sleep in a jumper at one point, and the walls are very thin. I was working late nights and tried to sleep in, but could hear people in the other room and downstairs very easily. Though it wasn't the biggest deal as the place as a whole was so nice it's hard to complain :)
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wale (8/5): Good place to rest - Clean, cosy, quiet environment No bathroom upstairs
- Tierney (9/5): An amazing little gem of a place! - Started well with a thorough and friendly check in message. Jane was lovely and helpful settling me in and explaining everything. In room facilities amazing and really took me by surprise. Spacious, sweet, homely and comfortable with everything I needed. Good wifi and good tv options. Such a lovely stay. Nothing!
- Kieran (8/5): Very good -
