• Mark (10/5): - Wanted somewhere to celebrate my wife’s birthday, so thought we would try this resort. They had a wedding reception going on, when we arrived, but that was okay, music was off before we went to bed. Most resorts have music on Friday nights. We had dinner at their restaurant, was surprised of how big portion was, as it suggests for 2 people. Reasonable priced, and staff were helpful. Totally recommend this place, the staff got together and sang happy birthday! Presented her 2 small birthday cakes, on her birthday. A great relaxing weekend, the beds were comfortable, the room was huge! Will return in the future.

• Alexandre Thomas (6/5): - Die Anlage und auch der Strandabschnitt sind sehr in die Jahre gekommen, das Poolwasser sehr trüb, das Meer sehr verschmutzt. Personal aber sehr freundlich und bemüht. Die Betten waren sehr bequem, Zimmer sauber und geräumig. Alles in allem ok, wenn man nicht zu große Erwartungen hat.

• Andrew (6/5): Two night vacation stay - Sadly a disappointing stay here…. First of all this is not a hotel….its focus is as event venue….with a handful of rooms for guests to stay-over. Facilities for guests are limited…..for example the restaurant and small bar are closed at 8pm. Nothing else to do here….and need to walk quite a long way to find other dining options. Having said that, the ocean view room was spacious, clean and comfortable and good shower. Service levels from staff could really do with improving. Waited ages for someone to bring a dinner menu…..and finally went and found one myself. Staff walk past without greeting you in the morning….and most annoying of all I had to battle with staff to get a coffee at breakfast time ! A very limited menu allows you to pick three breakfast items and either a juice of coffee. Feeling thirsty I asked for a coffee and juice. The reply was ‘sorry sir, you can have one or the other’ ! After threatening to go back to my room and bring the complimentary coffee sachet and kettle down, she relented and said, ok Sir we will give you coffee. And this is for a room at 8,800 pesos per night including breakfast. Just very poor overall…….
• Eric (10/5): - My stay here was exceptional and the staff were beyond friendly and accommodating. The meals were excellent, and eating a free breakfast while overlooking the ocean was a great start to my mornings. I forgot to pack an adaptor for my phone, but the staff was quick to loan me one. Lastly, not going to lie, I also fell in love here…with one of the cats roaming the property. Strong recommend!

• Austin (10/5): - Chateau by the Sea did not disappoint. When I first arrived I had an issue with my shower but they fixed it right away for me. The staff was so friendly and helpful and the view and meals were wonderful. They were so accommodating and kind I wouldn't hesitate to return. The breakfast was as amazing as the view, I really enjoyed their pool and the beach is really nice. They also were very friendly and kind to some guests that visited me there, I recommend this place highly.

From the providing a room with the best view, best food, best arrangements to visit the attractions and many more. I literally cannot stop thanking to the team which made my stay memorable. Special mention to joericks ,Junil,marlo, queney,malou, Wewona, dinah! My first visit to cebu and came from India and one of the best ever stays! Cheers and thank you!
• ? (8/5): - フロントに翌日朝にチェックアウトすること、タクシーを予約してもらうように頼んだが、朝にはフロントに誰もおらず、何人かのスタッフにフロントを読んでもらうようにお願いして20分ほど要した。タクシーは結局予約されておらず自分でgrabで手配した。 まあ東南アジアではそんなもんなんだろうが、ちょっとガッカリというかイラッとしました。

Staff very friendly. The breakfast is pretty good as well. Overall I have no complaints at all. The ONLY suggestions I give is add a spa with the hotel. I will be back at this hotel many more times.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Not so good - 욕실 더럽고, 수압 넘 안좋고, 필리핀 물가에 1박에 14만원짜리 치곤 넘 시설 안좋아요. 침구도 4박을 하는데 한번도 안갈아주고 바닥은 타일인데 뭔 세제를 그리 쓰는지 역한 인공향 많이 납니다. 그리고 결혼식이 있는데 하루종일 하기때문에 조용한 숙소는 개나줍니다. 풀도 2개는 있는데 숙박객은 주로 1개만 사용해요. 로비에도 시설도 없어서 앉아있음 넘 심심합니다. 진짜 비추에요. 제가 까다로운게 아닙니다. 전 오키나와 파파라기오우코우 에서도 만족한 사람이에요. 믿으시라고 알려드려요. 가지마세요!!!
• JENNIFER (8/5): Quiet accommodations, far from malls and anything. - Staff were nice and tried to be helpful but laidback on the service. The location is very far from the nearest mall (25mins) or anything of interest - meant for those who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of Cebu. Airport is 30 mins away. The place itself is more of a venue place for parties/weddings etc. Pool is small but clean and the small stretch of sandy beach is nice but not ideal for swimming. A small residence building houses the accommodations area w/ rooms that are spacious and clean but dust and ?dirt can be seen on the edges of the room. Bottled water and toiletries are provided. Breakfast was okay, if not mediocre. Fresh fruits were provided. Lunch/dinner available ala carte - great BBQ and sinigang.

Its seclusion really appealed to me, I wanted to unwind with peace and quiet and that's what I got. The one thing that made this place differ from other hotels I've stayed in all over the world was the staff on the ground, the frontline staff, they were so friendly and really went far and beyond there job rolls...Because I travelled alone to the other side of the world at first was a bit daunting to say the least, this was when the ground staff without any effort just did what the Filipinos do best which was to take me under their wing and really make me feel welcome and at times be one of the family... Thank you for that CBTS, you are locked in my brilliant memory section forever. I will never forget you.

• Jolene (10/5): Good stay! - Amazing stay, room is very spacious just a little run down here and there on furnitures. Bathrobes were stained, so check before you use. Breakfast was not bad, just that food were not very heated up. Service is superb! Staffs were very friendly and helpful.
• Verified traveler (6/5): 샤토 바이 더 씨 - 전반적인 시설은 나쁘지 않았지만 성수기에 1박에 25만원 주고 갈 정도의 숙소(시설)과 조식은 아니었다고 생각합니다. 그래도 직원들은 친절하고 대체적인 서비스는 나쁘지 않았습니다. 객실이 8개 밖에 없어서 리조트는 대체적으로 조용했고 수영장도 거의 풀빌라처럼 이용할 수 있었던 점은 참 좋았습니다. 그런데 매일밤 객실 외에 다른 건물에서 광란의 파티가 열립니다. 결혼식 또는 피로연, 생일파티 등 가족 행사가 크게 열리는데 노래소리가 너무 시끄럽고 불빛도 번쩍번쩍 난리도 아닙니다. 보통 8시부터 새벽1-2시까지 하는듯. 리조트 손님들이 항의해도 호텔 쪽에서는 별다른 조치를 취하지 않는듯 해요. 파티 및 장소 대여로 버는 돈이 리조트 숙박으로 버는 돈 보다 많은듯 합니다. 밤에 시끄럽지만 않았으면 대체적으로 무난한 숙소였습니다.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - We paid to upgrade our room to one w two queen beds however the bathroom toilet was leaking, the in room safe was broken and the door lock broke after the first night. We also asked for extra towels and I noticed that the towels and linen were old, some sheets had little stains and even had holes in them. The staff was probably the best part of the stay. All of them were kind, helpful, friendly and polite to my entire family. I think the owners can spend a little to update simple things like the towels and bedding and making sure the rooms are in proper working order which would have made it such a more pleasant stay. With these minor changes we would definitely come back again.

Place is in Punta Engano next to all high end resorts. Food choices from their kitchen is limited and priced for foreigners. But place is very close to Mactan Newtown where you have excellent cheap choices for lunch and dinner. I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Definitely will be going back!

Lamentably, there were some ants on the coffee tray, a couple of dead cockroaches behind the toilet, and women's hair pins in a drawer. The bed was comfortable. There was some construction going on so the main pool was closed off. The other pool was nice, as was the small stretch of private beach. WiFi worked reasonably well in the evening. Internet access was completely unavailable the next morning and still so when we checked out around noon. Breakfast was very modest. The location is not exciting, some travel is needed for restaurants and shops.

Asked for a garden salad as there were NO vegetarian options on the menu only to be informed they didn’t have the ingredients for it?!?!? Wouldn’t consider it again.

Food are expensive but reasonable because its in a hotel. Breakfast buffet is my fav!!! Very close to the beach. Very close to mactan shrine. Its a good deal!!!

The staff was very friendly and completed every task with a smile. The breakfast buffet had enough to get you full until lunch. The swimming pool was the right temperature. The beach was small but they keep it clean. The hotel was close to a very nice seafood restaurant and there were other hotels in close proximity.
• Roger (4/5): Fawlty Towers - You don’t actually stay in the building shown on the internet but in a house next door Room large with a fab view. Plenty of staff but no management. You have to ask for room to be cleaned. Everything not quite as clean as could be. No alcohol drinks available as no barman. No milk at breakfast for coffee or cereal. Very disappointing and vastly overpriced

• Lala (2/5): - #ChateaubytheSea: Upon checking in, they have seen me removing my bags out of the car but no one seems to bother in assisting even until i reach reception desk. Then after dragging all my luggages and being busy checking in i turn around and half of my bagages was gone where no one even welcome me and ask if they will take my luggages. I almost have a heart attack. Somehow since i set in the room by then i check no facecloth in the toilet assuming it is the standard. Ignored it til i forget to ask as i was running to pick up my mother to stay with me in this hotel. So when i return with mom nd have dinner here. We seat on the table and all staff was seating on the corner end of the table wondering what we are doing, of course we are seating and wanted to be serve. 5 mins past nothing is happening nobody approach us so i stand and went to reception nd mind that reception is 5steps away from us as well. I said do we realy have to approach you and ask for service? Is this the standard here? And she answered no mam and called waiter to have us served. After dinner we went to the room to relax as me n mom ahad a stressful day and wnted to sleep. During the quite night as was awake and cannot anymore sleep and rooms on top of my room, guest was runnning about screaming and dragging furnitures so i called reception to this and complain all they said is sorry. Rooms are not sound proof imagine that torture as well specially if Korean's are around. Money Spent not compensated to need
• uka (8/5): Excellent - They have everything that I wish to have. There is a Private beach, and big enough pool. We are used to stay old hostel in Asia, so this hotel was like a heaven for us. Location is apart from main city and any restaurant. (That’s why you can spend such a calm moment here) If you want shopping, better to stay in main cebu city area or close to Marina mall.

• Jane (2/5): Don't believe what you see in this hotel! - This place is a joke. No elevators, corridor smells like smoke, No A/C in dining room. Small pool. Beach is dirty and unswimmable. This is a 2 star hotel not 4. When we got to this hotel we immediately left. No security and no one at front desk. And of course, no refund!!! Stay away from this place.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Good view, that's pretty much it. Bad food. - The shower drainage was clogged. There was a pool of water after shower which took long time to go away. Hotel breakfast was not up to standard for its price. Only hotdogs, ham and fried chicken for breakfast's hot dishes. For 480 peso, it could have been better. I suggest make to order style for this type of hotel. Rooms view was good. Swimming pool was decent. Extra bed should be cheaper. 1500 peso for an extra bed is a bit too much.

• Joy (10/5): Nice Hotel next to the beach with nice view - Hotel Staff are nice and helpful. The Hotel don't have their own transportation, but they wil call a taxi for you go anywhere.breakfast was a little bit behind (Buffe)supposed to be start at 7am and I remember that I'm in Philippines time zone. hehehe. Overall was excellent and I would come back and stay again in this hotel. Thanks
• floyd (8/5): recommended - good wifi too - its a nice spot - the meals in the restaurant are very very good.. the breadfast is great also..the staff is amazing - lovely in mornings there - the only issue was that the shower in our room had NO pressure.. just like a drip and the bathroom had a sewer smell when you turned on the taps.. also they put us in a rear room away from the views even tho the hotel was near empty... go figure - overall good place

• Peter (6/5): Staff need to be trained better, shower was awful - Nice decor, clean and quiet. The water quality and shower pressure were awful. Our room was not serviced after our first night. Staff chatted under our balcony as we tried to relax in the evening. We were the only guests on our second night and still breakfast service was AWFUL, No water in coffee machine, no juice and no bread. After complaining service improved, but it spoiled our stay. This is not a cheap hotel and customers should expect a better experience.
• ken (8/5): - Lovely location but they need to fix their water pressure and hot water situation some days. We stayed for five days . Also allow use of kayak out into the open water not just the restricted swimming area. What’s the point if one cannot explore the coast line .

• Peter (10/5): Luxury stay at small boutique hotel - Spent a 2 day weekend at this small boutique hotel (12 rooms). The bedroom, bath, and balcony for the master room I had were large, comfortable, and clean. The hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating - for example, we arrived early in the morning (and were leaving early on checkout) so they let us have the breakfast buffet on our arrival while we waited for our rooms. The hotel is located on the water with a pier and small private beach. It also a great pool overlooking the ocean. The hotel lobby and public area contain many pieces of local art - everything is tastefully done. The topiary was well planned and beautiful. The hotel's primary business is hosting weddings and other events in the large hall next to the hotel. A wedding did take place while we there, but it over by 10pm and we could not hear any noise in our rooms. This is a relaxing get-away hotel. Its doesn't have any nightlife in the immediate area (unless you are part of the wedding). But the Shangri-La is less than 2 kilometers away with many restaurants and bars if you want an evening out.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful!!!! - Stayed in the Chateau for the first day in IronKids Cebu 2017 and we found the pool and beach a very good place to practice and relax. Staff was very friendly and assisted us in every need. Even assisted us in renting a motorcycle so we can go around and see the bike route. Will be staying here for the IronKids next year.
• Gregory (10/5): - With only eight rooms this is a great place to stay. If you want peace and quiet this is the place. You pretty much have the pool to yourself. Peaceful and beautiful setting. Big room and comfortable bed.
• Robert (10/5): Comfortable stay - We rented a few rooms because we held our wedding there. The rooms themselves are large and well equipped. Breakfast could probably improve a little with some more choices. Other than that, the pool is nice and the venue itself is fantastic for weddings.
• Patrick (10/5): Enjoy and relax - Next to two other couples, we were the only guests during our stay, so it was really quite and we could really relax and enjoy the pool and the beach. The room was impressively large and the vie from the room terrace was breathtaking. Buffet for breakfast and menus were great, on our request, they even Cooked something for us, which was not on the menus. Staff was friendly and very professional.
• James (8/5): Nice hotel but not very clean - The hotel is very nice, on a private beach, lovely pool, lovely big rooms, breakfast is very good but other meals are very limited, staff are very friendly, a lot of weddings happen there, it should be daily house keeping but they didn't clean the room or change the bedding to whole week I was there
• Tina (6/5): Fruendly staff slow service - The service was not that great. We ordered a taxi and did not came. We ended up taking a jeepney and went blackout. Horrible feeling. Breakfast at 7am but not ready at 710am.
• Atsumi (8/5): Nice balcony - The balcony was spacey and good, even though it was shared balcony with 3 rooms. The view from the balcony was also very good. We could see the see, sand beach and the swimming pool.
• MT (6/5): CBTS - I needed an accommodation for an overnight stay in Mactan with 2 queen beds and so I booked CBTS' Deluxe Room. Upon check-in I was told that we were upgraded to an Ocean View room but unfortunately, that room only had 1 queen bed and 1 single bed. When I raised my concern with the front desk staff, she told me that they are already fully booked and the best they can do is to provide me with an extra bed. I told them I want a real bed and they said yes. However what they gave was a disappointing folding bed. Room was nice but when we woke up the next morning there was a dead cockroach right beside our bed.
• Monina (10/5): Nice view over looking the sea. - Peaceful place to relax. Huge and spacious rooms and bath rooms. Very clean and friendly staff. I enjoy the view. I like the food.
• Nicholas (10/5): Relaxing but a bit overpriced. - This hotel is very pretty, well appointed and overall very nice. For the price.....well I think one can save some money. We paid $219 for one night, almost double of other nice places and it was not worth it.
