- Tobias (10/5): Perfect paradise! - Absolute paradise! Our villa was so perfectly nestled into the jungle that there was no trace of the resort to be seen. The service was so loving and from the heart that it felt like being spoiled by family. Every meal was a delight, with the only challenge being the choice between so many tempting options, including the standout breakfast. Every nature walk brought new surprises from animals and plants you discover with the help of the knowledgeable guides, and activities such as the waterfall abseiling add athletic adventures. Just perfect! It was truly sad to have to check out again... :(

- Franz (8/5): Good but for the service overpriced - The design,location was great. The restaurant staff was very friendly and efficient. Karol and Enriqe were amazing. The rooms were huge . Housekeeping needs attention. The turndown service -was not up to scratch . They never removed the flasks from early morning and afternoon coffee, dirty cups were not cleaned nor the dirty wineglasses taken away. Not once did they freshen up the towels on the loungers. The towel rail was loose -husband mentioned it no response until he took a maintenance person to the room himself. The water as of the 2nd day was lukewarm-mentioned it to reception but nothing was done. Unfortunately on the last morning I could not wash my hair-. Told the manager on duty Ronald , he took notes . But after breakfast when us leaving . He just nodded and unfortunately no goodbye-safe travels etc . Same is for the receptionist . Nothing. That was unprofessional.
- Christina (10/5): sehr zu empfehlen für Naturliebhaber - Super Lage im Regenwald. Das Resort ist so groß, dass man bereits auf dem Gelände kleine Wanderungen (mit oder ohne Führer) durch den Regenwald zu den Wasserfällen, zum Strand oder zur Vogelbeobachtung machen kann. Es werden geführte Touren angeboten. Die Guides sind sehr gut! Auch das Essen war super! Sehr zu empfehlen ist die Abholung mit dem Hotel-Shuttle vom Flughafen Puerto Jiménez. Die Anfahrt mit eigenem PKW erfordert unbedingt Allrad-Antrieb. da gibt es nichts, was mir nicht gefallen hat.
- Susan (10/5): - Exceptional in every sense! Staff were all stand out in terms of efficiency, helpfulness and going above and beyond. The food was fabulous, fresh quality ingredients that were well prepared and beautifully presented. The lodge itself is crafted from gorgeous materials and they take their sustainability seriously. Add in oodles of rainforest, a gorgeous beach and top guides and it really is perfection I loved every aspect of- can’t think of any improvements let alone faults
- Lisa (8/5): Unspoilt rainforest wilderness - The unspoilt remote location. It was small and quiet, only 14 rooms. Excellent staff, in particular restaurant staff remembered names and drink choices. All staff went out their way to ensure you were ok and provided top class and personalised experience. A manager made a point of chatting to each guest daily to check if they were ok. There were a variety of trips and guided walks included in the package with knowledgeable and accommodating guides who were more than happy to tailor the trip to your requirements. Easy access to wildlife and rainforest surrounding the property. Private terrace overlooking the tree canopy. Excellent quality food. Full board included. More food than we could eat! Personally we found the lack of windows and blinds took a bit of getting used to. It felt quite rustic with mesh window coverings not glass windows. The property information suggested that insects and being bitten were an issue however the room doors were left open by cleaning staff and the room had a lot of insects. We got bitten a lot despite multiple insect repellent products. I understand the eco credentials of the rooms but found it a bit basic for such an expensive package. No tea or coffee in the room. Again I understand the reasons why, and this was provided in the restaurant all day, however to be able to take this to the room maybe in a thermos or thermos cup would have been preferred.

- Gthuery (10/5): Incredible service, nature, and memories. A place you won't want to leave. - El Remanso Rainforest Lodge has set the bar so high that I fear no other hotel will ever compare. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. The entire staff, Rinaldo, Dari, and Rosa, were all truly exceptional. They were warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. Our tour guides, Eliezer, Roy, Tony, and Ronald, were equally impressive: knowledgeable, passionate, and eager to share their love for the rainforest and for the Osa Peninsula. The lodge itself is spectacular, nestled between lush forest and a pristine beach—there’s hardly any reason to leave. We stayed in a bungalow with breathtaking views of both the sea and the forest. Each morning and evening, we watched monkeys and birds right from our window. The included food was a highlight, with every meal delicious and the servers, Enrique, Brian, Joselito, and Stefani, going above and beyond to accommodate any dietary restrictions. The daily activities, the beautiful pool, and the outstanding service all contribute to making this lodge worthwhile, even given its high price. It was remarkable how the entire staff always seemed to know which tours and activities we had planned, making us feel like their most important guests at all times. Take their advice seriously about needing a 4WD vehicle to access the lodge. You’ll want high clearance on your car to navigate the road easily and avoid any damage. Leaving El Remanso truly felt like saying goodbye to family, and we were genuinely sad to go. This place has ruined all my future hotel experiences, but in the best way possible. We will definitely be back.
- Tobias (10/5): 7 out of 5 stars! - Wow - I had a 7 out of 5 star experience! El Remanso really matches the epitome of luxury lodges anywhere in the world, such as the top properties operated by Oberoi or Taj. Where do I begin... I was wowed by the stylishness and comfort of my room (more below), loved the pool, and fell in love with the setting deep in the rainforest, seeing and hearing the Pacific Ocean in the background, and experiencing the fauna and flora in daily walks. Yet the two most outstanding features were the people and the food. I learned in the introduction of the hotel in the in-room hotel guide that it is a local family business hiring only locals from the Osa península. They wrote apologetically that everyone studies hard but that as they constantly train up new employees, too, one should excuse any imperfection. The experience, however, was the best I've ever had. Everything comes from people's heart - they not only are most professional (as they must be trained extremely well) but everything they do seems to come from a deep desire to make their guests happy. For example, the driver who picked me up from the airport already tried to spot animals to show me during the 1-hour drive to the lodge, stopping along the way where he found some. They offer "at least" one guided tour every day and they actually arranged two for me every day even though some were private tours as I was the only guest that had requested certain tours during my stay. At the same time, when I asked about one of the paid tours mentioned in their list of tour options, they told me that given the length of my stay, they would recommend that I focus on their free tours which they honestly considered the best choices! Which other hotel would intentionally forgo a chance to generate some extra commission only to give the best possible experience to the guest? The food was just as outstanding. Absolutely nothing to dislike!

- Sara (10/5): Our hearts filled with peace! - The staff is very kind and does all they can to help you and meet your needs. The guides are very professional and we learned a lot from Eli and Mario. The food is excellent, great choices on the menu! The prices of the drinks are very honest. The location for us was stunning! If you love nature, wanting to disconnect and appreciate the jungle wildlife this is THE place to be! We saw squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys and spider monkeys from our villa! The beach is very wild and waves can be very strong but it's mesmerising to sit alone and watch the power of the ocean. One morning we saw whales pass by, it was magical!!

- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is a lovely place, but I can't give it a great review because on the day we checked-in no one was available at the hotel to answer the phone. Answering the phone when you have guest traveling from out of country, and to a very remote location is standard basic custom service. For whatever reason we could not find our email confirmation the day we were scheduled to arrive and we called and called for 5 hours straight on a Saturday between 12noon-5pm and no one answered the phone. Because we were traveling 5 hours by car to an extremely remote location and could not confirm our stay we were forced to book another hotel that night. We finally received an email in the evening from the owner, and we were able to check in the next day, but the owner herself directed her staff not to give us any discount for the inconvenience we experienced trying to check-in to the hotel. The staff was absolutely lovely, but the owner should know better that if you want to charge $1000 a night and be a 5-star hotel you have to give 5-star customer service which means answering the phone on the day guests check in. Next time I travel to this remote area of Osa I will visit LagunaVista Villas or Lapis Rios resort.
- J and S (10/5): Very Special Place - This resort provides an authentic "forest" experience while at the same time making sure all one's needs are taken care of. Dining is surprisingly good (my husband is a gourmet chef so he should know) as is the service! We couldn't ask for more but got it thanks to the friendliness of the owners. They are ever present and offer great advice (as well as conversation) for a fulfilling experience. We were sincerely sad to leave and hope to return in the future...
