Guest Reviews
- Ingrid (8/5): -
- Delmaine Vanessa (8/5): Wonderful stay, quiet and serene, nice green jungle atmosphere - Iliked the pool area was private and serene I didnt like the cleanliness around the pool area, and the beds were not comfortable

parfait !
je recommande ! Rien !
- Lisette (8/5): - Hotellet har været godt engang.
Men til prisen var det ok.
Tæt på alt.
- Angie (7/5): Not bad - Breakfast was included, but nothing special.
Room was great, small balcony / sitting area to enjoy evenings. Location was good. Clean towels, very friendly staff Location was a bit hard to find.
Swimming pool water look dirty and nor clean properly. A lot leaves and dirt from trees. It's look like no one cleaned every day . The owner/ manager was not found copule times when I need it talk to him. They have storage area in reception, but it's unlocked, no one there most of times. I wasn't happy to leave my bag there.

- Sven (1/5): Avoid - The location is the only positive thing about this place. The hotel is completely falling apart. All of the doorframes are so warped that the doors do not properly close and leave a gap. Also, balcony doors barely work because of this. The interior is equally old: Stains on the towels and bed linnens, holes in the mosquito net, and so on. I've lived in Cambodia for 10 years and this was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in.
Worse than the room was the security guy. He actually told my partner in Khmer "Nobody will be able to hear you", presumably making an inappropriate sex joke. If the doors don't close, and you're the security guy, this becomes extra creepy, especially for female travellers.
- Fiona (7/5): Staff attitude was very average. Breakfast was nice and so was the pool. Location a little far out - Pool was nice and rooms were clean Staff weren’t very helpful and location was a little too far to walk anywhere
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good - it was quiet and not too far from the city center. The rooms were nice and big, a great place to relax in peace. we had a car and car access wasn't so good with limited parking.
- Stina (6/5): Pleasant - Good and quiet location. There was a lot of humidity in the room, the bedclothes were damp and then also my own clothes after visiting.
- Tera (8/5): Very good - Beautiful covered eating area, breakfast area was cool and pool area was like a grotto Door wasn’t square to the frame and found key hard to unlock door twice
- Greg (4/5): Disappointing - Location was decent, walking distance to centre and night market and river without being totally on top of it. Amenities and facilities were ragged and unkempt. Pool wasn’t cleared or cleaned, apartment door didn’t quite shut and tape had been used to cover the gap, overgrown vegetation around pool area just gave a view of dilapidation.
- Koichi (8/5): Very good -
- Terrance (10/5): very private, very few people using the pool - it’s quiet, the kitchen staff is very kind.. good Wi-Fi, good television channels & refrigerator,.. We stayed in the second story unit overlooking the pool with a small private balcony.. the owner is very hospitable and helpful... The beds are to firm for me.. soundproofing is a concern.. Shhhh to noisy love making neighbors... Haaa haaa haaa
- Kesavan (7/5): Good -
- Izabela (9/5): Nice experience staying at cockatoo resort surrounded by nature - The location and lovely swimming pool situated surrounded by different palm trees , nice and quiet area close to town centre. The room was spacious and clean . Nice breakfast but not much Chong the choice as it wasn’t a buffet
- Lord (7/5): Good - Pool was lovely and refreshing. Location easy to get into town but quiet. Breakfast was nice but could do with more coffee which was promised but never arrived each day. Property was a little tired. TV only accessible via a streaming app that you need to have on your phone or it does not work, not even local channels.
- Steven (4/5): It’s not a very exciting hotel and the breakfast is truly awful - There are better hotels The bugs
- Maichakreya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (8/5): A Bargain, Peaceful Hotel - Great location. Nice pool. Quiet. Great value for money. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast choice a bit limited.
Very tired room/bathroom.
- Elizabeth (5/5): Passable - The breakfast was nice with fresh fruit and food cooked to order. The place which I am sure was charming in it's time, is now very dated and neglected.
The manager also seems to try to overcharge for everything, tuk tuk, laundry and tried to charge 4% to pay by card where other places charge 2/3%! The room was spacious, bed comfortable and good shower and linen changed every day. We didn't use the pool as it didn't look particularly clean.Easy walk to loads of bars and restaurants and to pub street Hope someone restores it to its former glory.
- Juli (7/5): Peaceful and lovely tropical property in Siem Reap. - Our room was spacious and comfortable, pool was refreshing, breakfast was delicious, air conditioning worked well, private balcony, quiet surroundings, coffee, tea, hot pot in room, nice warm shower/tub and very peaceful. Loved the morning birds and frogs in evening. Beautiful flowers and trees everywhere! Took advantage of a very nice massage too, which was great and affordable. Location was close to town near restaurants and night markets for shopping. Nice airport transportation in luxury SUV. The best parts were Kim and the staff who were incredibly nice and hospitable! 😁 Some maintenance (such as bathtub caulking, mold in places) needs attention. One shirt was lost in laundry, but they made big efforts to try and locate it. Also railing on stairs to room is metal and is very hot to touch in the sun.
- Stephen (8/5): I liked it .. a 1.50 tuk tuk to Pub Street and quiet to sleep - Breakfast was alright .. not a huge selection. Staff was really really good just a bit dated ....
- Semp (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keith (8/5): - Good central location a short walk to markets and pub street. Several restaurants closer. Quiet with nice gardens and pool. Staff helpful, particularly Kim who provided airport transfers and a full day visit to Angkor Wat
- Ian (7/5): Great location, and value for money - Location was good and pool was great, good places to eat nearby - we liked the Khmer cafe and Pomme brew bar. A little more run down than expected and bar & restaurant not available - still great value for the price
- Seyha (8/5): Wonderful - Calm environment, clean, nice breakfast.
- Pachamama (9/5): The Cockatoo - Everything, the garden, pool, staff, room. Helpful and friendly, the staff went out of their way to get us iced coffee's as the kitchen is only open for breakfast. It is so cool and comfortable here. We barely want to leave!
Most of all we loved the garden and pool and how peaceful it is. Hidden gem, just a step up from a backpacker place. We Love The Cockatoo. Good price. Cannot think of a thing.
- Gary (10/5): Brilliant stay, loved it! - We felt at home , Kim and all the staff were marvellous. A little oasis , highly recommended, would stay again. Nothing.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kirsten (9/5): Quiet place, great location, spacious rooms - The property was in a great location, a short walk to the night market and main town but down a quiet lane way. It had a lovely pool and we got a free Khmer or western breakfast. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was big. The owner was very helpful and got us a great tuk tuk driver to the temples and the price was less than pass app. The room was cleaned each day for free.
- Valeriy (5/5): The hotel needs a polish up - it looks run down after the years of COVID. Sound isolation is poor - The breakfast was very basic and rather poor - in fact only an omelette and some fruit. The coffee was only instant and not drinkable at all. The hotel is squeezed in a neighborhood surrounded by private houses. There are frequent "parties" in those houses with loud music and lots of alcohol - with very poor sound isolation of the hotel rooms - this is almost unbearable. The hotel management shies away from asking the neighbors to be quiet and to respect the guests at the hotel. Some of the neighbors abuse alcohol and become aggressive if they are asked to be quiet.
- Heleen (8/5): Nice quiet stay - The Cockatoo is in a quiet area, close to restaurants etc. The garden is very nice and the pool refreshing. Breakfast 2 western choices and 2 Khmer choices, although when we were there they didn.t have pancakes .
Rooms arè cleaned every day, fresh towels and water.
The hotel can arrange a
Tuk Tuk for you if needed.
Overall a very pleasant tranquil place to stay away from the busyness of downtown, which is in walking distance. It would be nice to have some more lounge chairs by the pool area.
Besides breakfast, there is nothing else to eat or drink available.
Maybe it would be a good idea to have a water refill station to cut down on single use plastic bottles.
- Jai (8/5): Very good -
- Mike (8/5): Nice, quiet place. Spacious room, comfortable bed. - Convenient for Siem Reap center. Quiet and out of the way, secure parking for our big bikes and staff were on hand all of our stay from our arrival until our early morning departure. Would stay here again. Nothing - it was all good.
- Jay (8/5): Very good - They have an amazing pool surrounded by a beautiful garden tucked away from the noise of the city. A simple but quality western style breakfast. They had a weak but sufficient AC. It is obvious that they have let some of facilities deteriorate in the last few years. It needs some work.
- Marie (10/5): Clean comfortable rooms with a wonderful staff wiling to help at all times - Good location and nice quiet area Everything was good
- Ian (9/5): Very much enjoyed my stay - Breakfast very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Taxi driver very kind internet
- Chandara (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were attentive and very polite. Breakfast was lovely and great value for money.
- Dawn (6/5): We had a lovely stay - Liked the pool room was good and breakfast was good but limited In need of up dating, sunbeds and parasol s need replacing and a general tidy up needed. Mattresses very hard.
- Va (5/5): Fair experience, never go back there again sorry. - The green nature and friendly staff that’s all. Facilities
- Kristina (7/5): Good stay if you enjoy swimming. - The aircon, bathtub, swimming pool Breakfast
- Hugo (9/5): lovely place - a pool surrounded with beautiful green trees etc. and great breakfasts
- David (7/5): Good - Staff were very happy to help. Breakfast was fine with some fruit, omelette, bread and coffee. Rooms are spacious. The location is close to everywhere, a short walk to the markets etc. The cleanliness of the rooms could be improved.
- Nevanne (9/5): Relaxing, spacious and friendly tropical retreat - Spacious room , slightly older style but good aircon. Beautiful pool area, pool a good temperature. Lovely gardens. Off a lane so quiet and nice atmosphere. Lovely food.
- Juha (8/5): I liked the hotel one major reason being that I had so lovely company with me, my handsome boyfriend. - Friendly staff, clean room, breakfast. The location could have closer to the center of Siem Reap.
- Dariya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (10/5): Great stay - Location is nice, walking distance from the old market. I liked breakfast which was included.
The room was clean and cozy.
A swimming pool is a plus. Staff was really helpful.
Highly recommend. Nothing
- Sheena (7/5): Good -
- Fay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oli (8/5): Very good -
- Chantal (7/5): Good - the area is quiet and peacefull, the pool was cozy and the staff are friendly the hotel needs a lot of renovations and maintenance.,

- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional - What a wonderful hidden gem, Tucked away from the noise of the busy nightlife. The swimming pool is divine surrounded by a jungle garden. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very friendly. An all-around great stay, Wish we could have stayed longer. Don't forget your ring pulls on your Cambodian beers for those staying at this time 😉 😀
- Lynne (7/5): relaxing and peaceful - very relaxing atmosphere, comfortable room and bed. lost electricity two days in a row.
- Roger (9/5): Enjoyable stay in comfortable place … staff very friendly! - Heung was very helpful and really nice in sorting tours and advising us. Very comfortable stay .. great to have the pool when it was so hot. Breakfast was good.
- Chris (8/5): Nice location just outside the main area but easy walking to the centre - Nice pool and shaded garden area with lots of birds calling. Good breakfast and comfortable bed. Location Chairs in the room need more padding.
- Banyatporn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was OK. Kim was very helpfull. We really enjoyed our staying! Thank You Kim for your kindness 🤗
- Harri (7/5): Friendly staff - Staf is friendly and very helpful. If something is wrong they try to fix it asap.
Nothing negative to say.
- Thanaa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Songmei (10/5): Great trip tho - So nice We booked spa. We thought the spa was from the hotel but actually they called people from outside. And it was doubled price.
- Nele Alina (10/5): - Tolles Hotel.
- Patricia (5/5): Doable - Location was good, landscaping was beautiful and people who worked there were really nice Musky smell, bathroom needs really scrubbed, pool was green on bottom where he didn’t hit with vacuum which was most of it. It was just needing some TLC but than we didn’t pay much. Breakfast really needed some selection but than it was free.
- Philip (10/5): Very peaceful and quiet guest house, lovely staff and personable service. - The breakfast was excellent, I had the freshly made omelette with a baguette, coffee and fresh fruit each morning. It was very homely and the service was very personal. Location was great also, just a 10 minute walk from the centre of town. The rooms were serviced every day without question and I slept very peacefully. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say, I had a great stay at this guesthouse
- David (6/5): Pleasant -
- Elaina (7/5): No frills but comfortable enough - People who worked there were very friendly
It had a rustic feel to it. I liked the breakfast area. The pool looked nice from there but I didn't use due to busy schedule and we had rain during my stay.
Was a nice 15 min walk to pub street and markets Was basic. But comfortable enough. Unfortunately other guests were loud at times which isn't the hotel fault. But made getting uninterrupted sleep challenging.
Only had egg as option for breakfast which is fine for a few days.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Paula (4/5): Disappointing -
- Dani (7/5): Good - a little dated but great location and staff bathroom flooded every time you took a shower
- Jan-lukas (7/5): Good -
- Nagarajan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (5/5): Passable -
- Ivan (8/5): Cocotoo review - staff, owner (maybe) or manager was very charismatic, attentive, helpful and polite. breakfest is good, but eggs without avocado or bacon but still nice dirty sun loungers, dirty bath, dogs and music nearby at night, also doors with glass but without blind - so really hard to sleep good
- Karolina (8/5): Very good -
- David (9/5): Superb - How Quiet and Private it was
So if you are looking for a party, this will not be for you
But want to chill, it's perfect, and the staff are so nice.
And the bed was super comfortable The breakfast is a bit limited
But still nice
- John (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jürgen (6/5): The accommodation is above budget to medium range, don't get mislead by advertised discount. - Location was central and quiet, not far from Wat Damnak and the Night Market. Walking distance in a nice area. The staff was very friendly, supporting and welcoming. The regular prices shown on booking.com (in beginning December 2022) were very high, more than 100USD per night, which would make you expect a luxury accommodation. But this was very misleading. With big discount I paid 35 USD per night, which is just the value that you get. 35 USD including breakfast is ok, but not more... Fishing for customers by offering fake discounts is not a good strategy...
