• Lea (8/5): Toll für Strandtage ohne viel Trubel - Richtig toller Strand. Mega Aussicht vom Balkon. Wir konnten sogar früher einchecken. Liebes Personal. Man kann die Liegen mit nutzen und sich Schnorchelmasken ausleihen. Haben auch einen Nachmittag unser Essen aufs Zimmer bekommen, sehr zu empfehlen.

• Rebecca (9/5): Beautiful Grand Hill - The owner and staff are wonderful, so warm and welcoming. We had an awesome view from our room, overlooking the beach and sea. We hired snorkelling equipment from a place just near the main carpark / short stroll up the beach from Grand Hill, having the fins made such a difference to us - we even spotted a turtle one of the days we were snorkelling, so beautiful and memorable. The restaurant was ok, food portions were very big - maybe a little too big 😄😄 There is a taxi service you can ring via WhatsApp or Thai mobile, they take around 10 minutes to grab you from Aow Leuk beach and coming home was easy enough, we had no problems with the taxis. We'd definitely visit again but maybe hire a pickup truck of our own for touring the island. We love Koh Tao and it really hasn't changed much since we last visited over 25 years ago which is rare these days. Not a dislike but it would be great if the restaurant / chill out areas stayed open until 8 or 9pm, just so you can enjoy the hammocks, a beer or two and play board games with friends or family in a larger space.

• Morten (10/5): Perfect snorkling vacation with amazing bungalow view, beautiful beach and great staff - This was our second stay at Grand Hill so we knew exactly what we were to expect. We had such a good time last time, and the bay and beach is perfect for both snorkling and relaxation. So many fantastic fish to witness in the water, and this time we say loads of baby blacktip reef shark, also swimming very close to the sandy beach. On each side of the bay, there are a magnitude of different fish species, and the corals, though dead, looks very impressive and ranges from shallow to deep. We also had a charming cat who meowed at our door the moment we had checked in, and we then had a feline companion for the next 3 days. The restaurant and bar area closes at 18:00, but food can be prepared so you can bring it to your room for eating later. This time it was much warmer since it is april, so the room was much hotter than our last trip in February. The fans were more than good enough in february, but this time it was too warm to sleep very good even with the fans. But that is not a critic of the bungalow or facilities, just something to be aware of if you are sensitive to heat.

• Carolin (8/5): Insgesamt hat es uns aber gut gefallen. - Gute Lage an einer schönen Schnorchelbucht, jedoch mit Kindern auch recht abgelegen. Man musste recht weit laufen, um die nächsten Restaurants zu erreichen, war aber machbar. Ohne Klimaanlage war es doch recht heiß, aber das wusste man natürlich vorher. Das Restaurant schließt um 18 Uhr, daher muss man entweder gut zu Fuß sein, um ins nächste Restaurant zu laufen (e.g treehouse) oder mobil sein. Ausstattung eher einfach- nach dem Duschen ist das ganze Bad nass.

• Anna (8/5): Romantik am Ocean - Gutes Essen, Sauberkeit (außer Flecken auf dem Bettlacken), Hilfbereitschaft von Personal z.B. den Koffer im Zimmer zu bringen, Taxi bestellen, Ausflug empfehlen. Tolle Lage: pure Romantik. Atemberaubender Aussicht aus Fenster und Balkon: direkt auf Ocean. Tolle Bootsfahrten mit Schnorcheln, wobei Korallen, Fische und Schildkröten gut zu sehen Bettlaken waren mit gelben Flecken, es war schwierig, ein Bettlaken ohne Flecken zu finden, die Gastgeberin war damit offensichtlich überfordert, gab aber am Ende ein neues Bettlacken. Leider viel Plastikmüll am Strand. Wird nur 1 mal in der Woche aufgeräumt.

• Morten (10/5): Fantastic stay in a beautiful bay with great staff! - Loved this place! Beautiful bungalow, a huge balcony with amazing view over Aow Leuk bay. The beach was nice but we primarily went for the snorkelling and we saw amazing fish (we saw a baby blacktip reef shark!), Black morning coffee was superb, and the meals was very satisfying. Friendly staff, and also a very good dog coming over saying hello in the morning. I cut myself on a rock and the staff helped me with cleaning and bandage, and were also helpful in calling taxi when needed. Can totally recommend Grand Hill! More about unplanned inconvenience, the reception and bar closes "early" and then there is no way to buy snacks, water or food until the day after. It is a very steep and long walk back to the closest shop, so just for information: buy enough water etc before coming here, or remember to stock up before the bar closes :) i fully understand the staff wants some rest after a long day.

• Silvia (8/5): Für Ruhe und Erholung immer wieder gern - Sehr ruhige, tolle Lage. Ausstattung einfach, aber dadurch einfach gut. Personal sehr nett. Der Ausblick von den Balkonen, die mit einer Hängematte ausgestattet sind, unschlagbar. Fast keine Möglichkeit nach 18.00 noch was zu essen oder trinken zu bekommen. Gastronomie macht 18.00 zu und wenn man noch was möchte, nur die Möglichkeit mit dem Taxi irgendwohin zu kommen. Nie weite Wege, mit Taxi 10 min, einfache Fahrten, 400Baht.

• Christophe (9/5): Trois jours de snorkeling, malgré une météo capricieuce, plein de poissons. - Les chambres accrochées aux rochers ont une vue imprenable sur la baie. La grande terrasse devant chaque chambre au dessus de la mer permettrait presque de voir les poissons. Enfin une fois dans l'eau vous en verrez obligatoirement. Un coin de paradis ça se mérite, la route pour y accéder est très pentue. Une fois qu'on y est, plus envie de bouger.

• Freya (9/5): - We have never had a view like this from any of our travels. The balcony looks straight over the Aow Leuk bay, it is absolutely gorgeous with two day beds on the balcony. The bug nets were very helpful due to there not being any bug screens on the doors and windows. We did have a massive spider come out of the curtains, however not surprising due to the jungle like location and hard to avoid.

• Linda (10/5): The snorkelling right off the beach was a real plus, it had a lovely variety of fish and the occasional reef shark to sp - We loved the bungalow, the waves gently rolling in below while sleeping with doors open was so relaxing . There was nothing we didn’t like, except for the fact that we had to leave.

Das hatte ich überlesen in den Bewertungen, ansonsten hätte ich diese Unterkunft nicht gebucht. Wir sind dann auch einen Tag früher abgereist

Le bungalow est confortable, la salle de bain est toute neuve, et la vue toujours aussi fabuleuse. Ménage fait tous les jours avec changement de serviette! Un frigo et une bouilloire, de l’eau en bouteille tous les jours, c’est fort appréciable. Au sujet de l'hôtel, rien. Mais il y a des difficultés avec la propreté de la plage et le traitement des déchets , à cause de la grande fréquentation.

• Mirka (8/5): You pay for the view - Gorgeuous view from the balcony. The room was spacious. They cleaned the room everyday without asking. You can snorkel straight from the beach. Got see geckos right on the bungalow porch! No A/C. This would have been fine, since there were two fans in the room. However the windows didn’t have mosquito nets so you couldn’t leave the windows open during night time. If they would add mosquito nets, it would improve the stay significantly. Pillows were the worst I’ve ever had in a hotel and the bed was quite hard. Room walls were dirty. Kayak rental was really expensive (200 baht/hour).

Snorkeling at Aow Leuk was even better than diving at Koh Tao. Saw turtle, ray, black tip reef sharks and so much more.

• Anja (9/5): Wat een geweldig uitzicht - De bungalows zijn heel mooi en vooral het uitzicht is fantastisch. Het ligt een beetje uit het centrum en de weg is slecht en stijl maar wij hadden een scooter. Na de weg een paar keer te hebben genomen is het goed te doen. Je hebt echt een scooter nodig. Het restaurant sluit om 18 uur en je kunt dan zonder scooter negens meer naar toe. Taxis zijn heel duur. Anyway huur een scooter en geniet van deze prachtige accommodatie. Overdag is het hier aan het strand heerlijk. De staf is heel behulpzaam. Als de wind ongunstig staat ligt de baai vol plastic, daar kan de accomodatie niets aan doen maar het is wel een zorg.

• Ian (3/5): Stunning location but built on a steep hill with no handrails on steps. - I would have liked to give this property a high score as its location and nearby beach and snorkelling would have warranted a 10, however, the approach is very steep and is all concrete steps and ramps, all again very steep and none of which had hand rails or anything to support the climb or descent. On our first day my wife fell down the steps and ended up in hospital in Koh Samui with assorted injuries including a broken wrist so please be aware of the dangers.

Overlooking the sea and Aow Leuk beach. Hearing the waves, even from my bed. And I had sun-beds on my balcony. What a dream. I even had a fridge, kettle and they cleaned my room everyday and provided water bottles.

• Monika (10/5): äußerst empfehlenswert - Die Bungalowanlage ist phantastisch gelegen und man kann direkt vor der Tür los Schnorcheln. Es gibt nur zwei Resorts in der Bucht, so dass es nicht sehr voll sein kann. Die Bungalows sind großzügig, komfortabel eingerichtet und mit schönster Aussicht von der großen Terrasse. Die Wege und Straßen dort hin sind sehr steil und auch innerhalb der Anlage gibt es viele Treppen mit teils hohen Stufen. Das hat uns aber nicht gestört. Das angeschlossene Restaurant bietet leckere Speisen mit sehr gutem Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit bei allem. Insgesamt sehr zu empfehlen. Leider waren die Öffnungszeiten des Restaurants sehr eingeschränkt. Da wir die einzigen Gäste waren, durchaus verständlich.

• TUR PAZ (1/5): חבל, מלון מזעזע במקום טוב - מיקום מדהים, על אחד החופים היפים באי, אבל רחוק מהמרכז, ללא חנויות או מסעדות קרובות הצוות היה מזעזע - המקום עצמו שבור ומתפרק, ובכל פעם שביקשו עזרה הבעיה לא נפתרה, ולעיתים אף האשימו אותנו. בנוסף, הייתה מערכת לחימום מים שהותקנה בצורה מסוכנת ולא בטיחותית מאוד - הצוות התעלם גם מההתראה הזו. גם המקום לא נקי - גילינו גללים של חיות בחדר. שילמנו במיוחד על מאוורר - שלא עבד.
• Saioa (10/5): Ha sido una estancia maravillosa - REPETIRÍA SEGURO!! Ya solo por las vistas de la habitación merece la pena. Pero además tienes debajo, para mí, una de las mejores playas de la isla. Además la habitación era muy chula. La cama era cómoda y además disponía de mosquitera, lo cual se agradece. El personal es super amable. Es cierto que la carretera para llegar al hotel no es del todo fácil pero nosotros que estamos acostumbrados a ir en moto no nos ha supuesto ningún tipo de problema y, además, en menos de 5 minutos en moto llegabas a lugares de ambiente. Tenía ventiladores que hacen un poco de ruido pero tampoco muy molesto. Y el baño es cierto que tiene la ducha en medio que dejas todo el baño mojado pero salía a una temperatura muy agradable.
• Stephen (9/5): Authentic Thai paradise with outstanding snorkelling - The location is excellent. Best snorkelling we found on KT right on our doorstep. Reef sharks and so many species of fish. Staff are very kind. A lovely dog and a very friendly cat. You will need a scooter and the road is very hilly but manageable with care. Food was very very good. I’d highly recommend the Tom Yam. Very safe, we slept with our bay door open to catch the sea breeze. Early morning is best from snorkelling, 6-8am. Not much we didn’t like about Aow Leuk. Gets a bit busy during the day with snorkelling groups but not a drama. Rooms are basic but the location makes up for this and to be honest it adds to the attraction. The view from the room are amazing.

• Meeka (7/5): - Its our second visit to Aow Leuk Grand Hill so clearly we love it. But we definitely go because of the location not the hotel. The beach is so beautiful and its such a treat to have it to ourselves in the mornings and evenings. The sunbeds are so nice. The rooms are kept clean daily with fresh towels which is nice. The room is basic but everything you need. The mattress was incredibly hard, we asked them to do something about it and they bought a foam.topper which helped slightly.

Ce qui nous obligeait à prendre le scooter de nuit avec une route d'accès périlleuse. La plage est envahie en journée. Beaucoup de bateaux dans la baie. Le bruit des bouteilles de plongée chargées sur les bateaux dès 7h00 du matin. Bref tout sauf le Calme, mais l'hôtel n'y est pour rien!

• Clara (7/5): Beautiful view, amazing for snorkeling but the restaurant close at 6 so after you can’t get food ( no grab here ) and br - There’s the view which is absolutely amazing, with a beautiful beach where you can see small sharks. The room is pretty cool but the bathroom is not useful at all ( Almost no water comes out of the shower, just like the toilet flush which doesn’t really work and I let you imagine the result of the toilet after) You can boom beat trip from the reception which is really good and rent mask and kayak! The restaurant closes at 6 p.m. so after it is impossible to get food without paying a taxi to the city (400 bath the alley). Breakfast is paid and rather expensive and only opens at 8am which is really restrictive especially when you have outings (boat trip etc...). In addition, almost no water comes out of the shower, just like the toilet flush which therefore works very little and I let you imagine the result of the toilet afterwards. I had to ask myself for the 2 bottles of water which, as confirmed to me at the reception, are supposed to be changed every day.

• Andres (7/5): Ubicación genial, aunque complicada - Ubicación, está en una de las mejores playas para bucear. Vistas increíbles desde la habitación. Habitación amplia y con una terraza con tumbonas muy agradable. Limpian la habitación todos los días, cambian las toallas y reponen agua, jabón… Restaurante cierra demasiado pronto, implica tener que trasladarse para cenar (moto o 400 baths de taxi cada trayecto). Además el desayuno no está incluido. La carretera para llegar no es muy fácil. Muchas cuestas empinadas y trozos no asfaltados. Había bastantes hormigas y también algunas cucarachas tanto en la habitación como en el baño. Nos recomendaron un sitio para alquilar la moto que no nos resultó muy bueno (nos pidieron mucho dinero al entregarla por pequeños arañazos)

• Lou (7/5): - La plus belle vue que j’ai eu dans un hôtel de toute ma vie. L’emplacement ne peut tout simplement pas être mieux. Calme. Un peu isolé, mieux pour rester quelque jours de détente. Bungallow économique peu confortable mais ça allait la vue rattrape le coup
• Xavier.P. (8/5): Ubicación excepcional si se busca tranquilidad, pero pocos servicios y falta información clara - La ubicación es excepcional si buscas una cala o playa pequeña. Las vistas desde el bungalow daban al mar, con una hamaca para relajarte. La ubicación también es negativa porqué hay una carretera muy estrecha y con unas pendientes brutales. Por lo tanto puede ser peligroso, incluso en moto. La solución es utilizar el taxi, pero sale muy caro (400 bahts desde el embarcadero). El colchón era incómodo. El único restaurante del lugar cierra a las 6 de la tarde, y llegamos allí y ya estaba cerrado. En el bungalow no había ningún tipo de información, ni el wifi (se lo tuve que reclamar por email), ni como calentar agua, etc. Es una pena que siendo una ubicación excepcional, no se ofrezca unos servicios a la altura, y que no se informe de los inconvenientes.

• Al (10/5): Two weeks of relax - This is our 4th stay here and the longest so far. We like this place most on Koh Tao. Cozy bay for lovers of quiet relaxation. Convenient entrance to the sea, an interesting underwater world, the bay is not crowded in the mornings and evenings, but there are drivers and visiting tourists during the day. The hotel is very small - a few bungalows, with its restaurant and equipped beach (umbrellas, sunbeds, wifi, snorkeling equipment and kayaks for hire) on the shore. Very friendly staff. The bungalow has everything you need (kettle, refrigerator, 2 ventilators), beautiful view from the balcony, daily cleaning and towel change. Bottle of water everyday. Maehaad pier with cafes and shops is within a 35 minutes walk (everyday fitnes) or 8 minutes by bike. What you need to consider: there is no air conditioning in the bungalow, if you like to sleep in coolness - this is important. No beach towels. Restaurant closes at 18.00
