The overall experience was very pleasant, and the staff truly stood out—courteous, attentive, and always ready to help. We chose a room with a valley-facing view, and it was absolutely worth it. Waking up to that scenery and enjoying the calm atmosphere made the stay feel extra special. One thing I genuinely appreciated was the resort’s focus on sustainability. Small touches like providing slippers, toothbrushes, and other essentials made from natural materials (instead of plastic) showed thoughtful effort toward eco-friendly hospitality. The restaurant deserves a special mention—easily one of the highlights of our trip. The food was consistently excellent, and we especially loved the American Chicken Chopsuey. It had a perfect balance of flavors and was easily one of the best dishes we’ve had in a long time. Overall, a comfortable, scenic, and well-managed resort with great food and a responsible approach. Would definitely recommend it for a relaxing Kodaikanal getaway.

• Journey42904426610 (10/5): Worth every penny with hospitable staff! - Great Trails by GRT is a pleasant and hospitable premium resort worth every penny. To start with, my spouse and I checked in here after an appalling experience at Hotel Kodai International wherein we couldn’t even cross a day due to hygiene issues. When we called and inquired GRT, they assured us Timber Chalet rooms for an optimised and reasonable tariff, and received us with evening snacks and tea served hot. This hospitality relieved our minds a bit from the hassle we had with our previous hotel. Following this, we checked in and had a fantastic Gala dinner at GRT and Mr. Balakumar treated us and several other guests with personalised care remembering everything we requested for during the dinner which was also part of the package. The entire staff in GRT is amicable, punctual, and show great accountability if we out forth any request. They suggest offbeat places to visit in Kodaikanal. Needless to say, GRT rooms are hygienic and spotless. The food tastes fresh and excellent with a diverse range of dishes served for breakfast and dinner. I strongly recommend Great Trails by GRT when you plan visiting Kodaikanal and you will truly feel the clear distinction and luxury they offer as opposed to any other accommodation here in this Kodaikanal hill station. What I emphasise is the extent of quality GRT offers which justifies the tariff completely wherein there won’t be any moment of regret as we will feel it’s worth every penny.

It had great view. Rooms were clean and had every essential item and in abundance. Room service is available. Golf cart is there for locomotion. Zero noise. You can ask for extra bed. Avoid sofa cum bed take an extra bed rather. Lifts is available. Restaurant is also there which again provides chinese , north and south indian options.

The entire resort was beautifully decorated for Christmas—it was absolutely mind-blowing. They had thoughtfully arranged festive events such as Santa’s arrival and fun games, which my kids enjoyed immensely. The food, especially the gala dinner on the 24th, was nothing short of heavenly—truly one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Both the quality of the food and the service were outstanding. The valley view from our room was top-notch and incredibly refreshing. The staff were attentive, warm, and present everywhere, always ready to help with a smile. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday experience.

• Departure23001844559 (10/5): Peaceful Stay with Great Views and Warm Hospitality - We recently stayed at Great Trails Kodaikanal for 3 nights and had a very pleasant experience overall. Booking Experience: We booked the rooms directly by calling the property, and the booking experience was smooth and transparent. The team clearly explained the available packages and offers. We got a very good deal for our extended 3-day stay—almost half the price compared to some leading booking platforms for the same package. The only condition was paying 50% as an advance, with a full refund option available up to 3 days prior to the stay, which felt fair and reassuring. There was a bit of a delay (3-4days) in acknowledging the payment by the accounts department though. Location: The resort is located away from the crowded areas of Kodaikanal, making it a peaceful and serene place to stay. The surroundings are calm, and the views from the resort are excellent—perfect if you’re looking to relax and unwind. Room: We booked a Timber Chalet with a balcony, and the view from the room was beautiful. The room was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids. It was well-equipped with hot water and a room heater, which helped maintain a comfortable temperature (during our stay the temperature dropped to a single digit, nearby places registered 0 degrees) , especially during the colder hours. Staff & Service: The staff were extremely friendly and courteous—from the reception team to the room service staff. Everyone was helpful and pleasant, and they frequently checked in to ensure we were comfortable. They also provided useful recommendations on places to visit around Kodaikanal. Food: The food was good in terms of quality and taste, though slightly on the pricier side. Approach Road: The last stretch of the approach road (hardly about a kilometer) is in slightly poor condition, with damaged concrete/tar. However, it is manageable and should not be a major concern once you reach the resort. Overall: A great place to stay if you’re looking for a calm location, good views, spacious rooms, and warm hospitality. Booking directly with the property is definitely worth considering for better deals.

• divya827 (10/5): A Symphony of Nature and Comfort at Great Trails - Our stay at Great Trails, Kodaikanal began with a comforting honey ginger tea. Away from the humdrum of city life, this resort at some distance from Kodai Lake was where serenity became a companion. As the mist lifted from the trees, revealing an idyllic, lush green, enrapturing view, we wondered if the mist of stress was also lifting from our minds. The scent of some unknown blooms, blended with the fresh air, filled us with peace. We had got an upgrade to the Timber Chalet room, which was spacious, clean and comfortable, with stunning views on both sides. One side opened to the garden and the other side, with a balcony, opened to the view of the mountains and farmland. The room had all the necessary facilities, including a heater, kettle, warm water and a seating area. The service was prompt and staff were welcoming, courteous and helpful. There were also buggies and a lift available from the rooms in the slope area to the restaurant. The food was delicious with many options available for breakfast like beetroot halwa, bonda, carrot chutney, croissants and uttapam. The soups, veg biryani and Kodai Special Urulai (Potato) Fry left me craving for more. The surroundings were well maintained and ideal for a refreshing nature walk, with flowering trees and plants ready to brighten the day. Stargazing and jeep safaris were available for those interested. There was a play area for kids and a campfire with music to feel the warmth of happiness. As the rain made the panoramic views even more magical, we reluctantly left the resort, carrying a soothing sense of calm and a very memorable experience.

It is far from city so you need to have vehicle in case you need to explore. All other amenities are in good condition.

The property is well maintained and offers a calm, relaxing atmosphere but roads to reach the place are a bit bumpy. The rooms were clean and comfortable which made the stay pleasant. The food was really fresh and tasty with many varieties. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Balakumar, Sarsunan and Nathiya. The staff even kindly provided me a premium sanitary pad with a disposable cover when I needed, it was very soft and comfortable to use. We really enjoyed the fun activities and beautiful surroundings. Overall, one of the best places to stay in Kodaikanal with beautiful views and friendly staff.

All the staffs were very friendly start from check to till our departure. Food was delicious thanks to the chef and team. They have excellent hospitality and the rooms are top quality in terms of standard and cleanliness. The whole ambience of the resort is great and the spa here is wonderful for relaxation. Lots of activities available in the resort like nature walk, many indoor games, zip line etc which offer a nice adventure feel. The restaurant is also wonderful with a nice view of the valley and food is top notch! I’ve visited this place 4 times and I’ll definitely be coming more often. Highly recommend this place
