Guest Reviews
- Keith (10/5): - Beautiful location. Unfortunately dining room closed due to lack of staff.
Host charming and friendly.
Service clean and efficient
- Viktoryia (10/5): - Relaxing stay. Perfect view. Great owner.
- Stefanie (10/5): - This motel is a great stop with an amazing view out your window. It is a close drive to Gaspe, but away from all the crowds. We seen a whale in the morning and lots of seals swimming by with their heads bobbing. The owners are very welcoming and warm people and will help with any of your questions.
- Hai (10/5): - Very nice
- FRANK (10/5): - Vue magnifique
Restaurant sûr place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent rapport qualité-prix. Chambre propre, vue magnifique et excellent resto.
- Jennifer (10/5): Great sleep - Very comfy beds! Sleeping to the sound of the ocean
- M (6/5): - Very clean and quiet ,well located right by the water with excellent scenery, rooms could use a refresh.****Beware***the restaurant in the main building opens@ 8 and closes when ever they want....we were refused breakfast @950am.....be ready to go fo a drive if they don’t want to serve you!,
Supper was good...although you would thing that being by the water and close to fishing docks they would use fresh not frisent fish .....
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owner was very welcoming. She made the family feel at home. The lodging facility was clean, homely, and had a touch of country-uniqueness. A very good escape from your standard hotel room accommodation.
Now the best part - the food! Food prepared in the restaurant was nothing short of GOURMET. My wife and I had for appetiser, some grilled bourgots (whelks) which are local to the region, followed by grilled trout and cod. The kids also enjoyed their dishes. For dessert, please make sure to try the Pouding Chomeur (poor man’s pudding) - it is an incredible delight, quite ironic to its name.
Thank you madam for the great hospitality.
- judith (8/5): Small motel,a lot of character - This quiet motel is on the coast, on a fine day one can sit on the lawn and just enjoy the peacefulness. The room was comfortable and one could sit outside. The restaurant was small but unique with a good choice on the menu, plus specials of the day. If it was low tide one could walk along the beach. The staff was very friendly although her english was minimal, as was y French, we could understand each other.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff are very nice as well as bilingual, beautiful location right next to the St. Lawrence river.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice room and very good restaurant at the Hotel. Service and Food excellent.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazinf - A-MAH-ZINF
- Gilles (8/5): - Tout est correct. Bon endroit pour relaxer. Bon site.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great little motel on the ocean. Older but well kept. Good find
- Eran (4/5): - Great location and amazing view from the back yard.
The staff is very unwelcoming... No AC in the rooms!... the place (reception) shuts down at 8pm and no one there to assist you with any problem\need. A simple request like an additional towel will be declined.
You will get only the basic, no more.
- Marianne (6/5): - Photo on website shows charming older historical building, but rooms are actually in a separate motel building, which is not air conditioned and is painted dark brown, so it was very hot. Only one window opened, so couldn't get a cross breeze. The restaurant was closed for breakfast. Beautiful area and view. Parking was very close so easy to move in and out. Room was quiet, but I could feel neighbors walking by the vibration on my floor. Fee for wifi.
- Nigel (10/5): Quiet, peaceful with great food - This is an amazing, qui.et and restful place, a long drive from anywhere on the Gaspe peninsular. The rooms are clean and well equipped, with a lovely light feel to them. Set by the coast you can take a walk along the beach and scramble on the rocks where a British ship wrecked over 200 years ago.
The best bit though is the restaurant, the food is lovely, prepared on site and just great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was great we only had breakfast it was very good
- Jasmine (10/5): - Belle place, bon repas, accueil chaleureux. Nous en gardons un bon souvenir
- Kevin (10/5): Lovely place to relax - needed longer - Remote, peaceful, French, friendly, beautiful scenery, i loved sitting close to the water just outside our room watching sea birds and even saw a couple of Dolphins rising from the sea.
Lovely breakfast.
Comfortable room,
It’s a long way up the peninsula but worth the drive - totally - ideal place to stay prior to hitting Gaspesie and Formillon National Park or afterwards. Enjoy! You will
- Jana (8/5): - excellent location close to the see let us actually see the whales
- Alice (10/5): - Merveilleux accueuil, magnifique vue, charmant restaurant et logis. On reviendrai avec grand plaisir!
- Doug (8/5): 2 day stopover - Comfortable room, excellent food, whales and seals offshore, eagles. Relaxing 2 day rest stop, very good grocer 6 km up the road for all your needs. Room had no fridge which would be nice.
- Ian (8/5): Food was amazing. - Beautiful location, room was basic, restaurant was excellent.
- Barbara (10/5): Wonderful restaurant - The motel room was very basic, but very clean. The restaurant and service were outstanding. The package with room, dinner and breakfast was an incredible deal and the dinner was one of the outstanding dining experiences of our trip.
- Glenda (10/5): Coming to Cloridorme - Couldn't get a booking in Gaspe, so choose the Hotel in Cloridorme.
A wonderful experience on the waterfront, delicious and beautiful food and extraordinary service. The motel and the culinary excellence didn't match, but we were surprised and didn't want to leave after our two night stay.
We spent almost 3 hours roaming the beach below and enjoying every moment of fresh air and sunshine, but not successful in finding sea shells. The beach is rugged but walkable.
Sadly, they may sell and then the atmosphere and service may totally change.
- Heather (8/5): This hotel was perfect after a long drive. - The restaurant on site was very quaint, art on display, and had a comfortable atmosphere. Food was delicious
And best part was that the chef would prepare anything according to any health restrictions. My husband could not have any salt or sugar and they were so accomodating.
- Elad (2/5): Terrible stay - We stayed at the hotel for one night (luckily).
I picked this hotel according to the total score of 4.5 on Expedia and 8 on Booking.com.
Yet, this hotel cannot reflect these ratings since the room was very cold, basic, the sink was inside the room and not inside the bathroom, the owner was rude and unpleasant, and we packed our stuff at 6:30am in order to run away as soon as possible. This place also doesn't provide free WiFi and due to the fact that there is no cellular reception there, they charge per hour (outragious!).
- Ken (2/5): - place needs updating and there is little air flow. miniature window.
- Robert (6/5): Nice travel step - Restaurant oceanfront, very nice. Warm welcome. Food good. When reserved on the interne the photo let you think it is an "auberge" but it is an old motel. Room was very clean, bed comfortable, bathroom very tiny and the shower. ..well, you must be patient. Overall, a nice travel step.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff were very friendly and courteous.
- Gary (10/5): Excellent value and experience - Loved it, was as advertised. Enjoyed the people and room very clean, excellent value an great food
- Gail (10/5): Stay here! - We loved our experience here. The motel sits right against the water, has a wonderful place to sit or you can easily walk down to the beach. Such friendly people and whatever you do, have a meal in their dining room. The food is absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Very minimal but what more do you need with this location?
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful Stay - We discouver this beautiful location and it is a true gem. The hotel overlooking a beautiful breath taking view. The location was quiet and beautiful for yours to discover. The food was amazing, and was all home cook gaspe style. A warm confortable bed toreturn to after a long day of discovery in the gaspe location. Will return again.
