Guest Reviews
- Thursa (10/5): - Was good price
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very nice people & friendly
- Cindy (6/5): - You get what you pay for. Cheap hotel surrounded by bars. But if all you need a bed to sleep in...bring pillows and an extra blanket. I am not a picky person so will definitely stay there again. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- Gregory (8/5): - If you’re looking for an inexpensive room within walking distance of the arena and casino, this place is great. Clean, inexpensive and right downtown, with plenty of dining and entertainment options within a few blocks
- Angell (3/5): The trip was great. The hotel wasn’t - I liked the theme and location It was dirty, the people were weird, the beds were uncomfortable and not many of the outlets were working and there were only 3, the air conditioner didn’t work and it was hot!
- Esterina (8/5): - It was great for an overnight stay
- Peng (4/5): Disappointing - The location is good, it's very convenient to check in and out, and the price is great The toilet flush is very blocked, the cooking stove is broken, the shower head is broken and cannot discharge water, which is the most unbearable. The bed is a bit small and it is very crowded for two people.
- Paul (8/5): - This was a very decent property for the price so good value.
- Piet (9/5): Superb -
- Kent (6/5): - Its what you would expect for the price
- Blankson (7/5): Good -
- Cameron (3/5): Poor -
- Allen (1/5): Bad - Absolutely nothing The dirt the broken furniture the unsafe electric the lack of been able to make tea as advertised wud not recommend this motel to anyone
- Tammy (1/5): Bad - Nothing Everything....from the smelly trash outside, gross room, no shower pull to have a shower...didn't have toilet paper in room could barely use remote on tv....just disgusting DO NOT GO HERE....rip off of my money
- Andrew (1/5): Hotel is in dire need of upgrading and it was so very dirty! - The only positive thing about the hotel was its location. Cleanliness, Wifi, bed, coffee & tea facilities, TV reception.
- Barry (7/5): Good -
- Karla (8/5): - Well, we needed a key to unlock the master lock, but other than that it did the job.
- Carrie (2/5): - The only thing this motel has going for them is that it's easy to find. The floors look like they haven't been shampooed for years, the cover was missing off of the A/C unit. The TV and refrigerator gave out due to a number of things plugged into an electrical socket that wasn't built for that type of capacity. The beds were so hard we might as well have been on the floor, the pillows are so thin you can hardly feel them, the owners aren't particularly friendly and checking in felt like I was an inconvenience and the best part, NO refund policy. This place isn't worth the money, do yourself a favor, spend the extra 50 bucks and stay somewhere comfortable, clean, where you feel welcomed and not like you're going to die from exposed air-conditioner wires or an electrical fire.
- Oscar (2/5): Very poor -
- Julius (6/5): - Bad experience
- Mel (10/5): - Best location and price combo.
- Peter (2/5): - We arrived at the hotel to find Homeless street people on the sidewalk outside the hotel we would not even let our dog out of the car one of the rooms had plywood covering the window. The overall condition of the property was deplorable. Needless to say we did not stay.
- Sabrina (7/5): Good - Location. Walking distance to mosaic stadium Traffic loud from main street cruisers
- Kelly (3/5): Poor -
- Brière (5/5): Passable -
- Chris (8/5): - was a unique room ...if bed had been upgraded would have rated it higher
- Metta (10/5): - A good place to stay in Moose Jaw, and well priced. It's right downtown with a ton of places in walking distance.
- Henry (10/5): - Friendly & helpful
- Doerksen (4/5): Disappointing - Perfect location close to tourist attractions Shower in our room wasn't working. Would be nice if there was a coffee maker in the room
- HERMAN (8/5): - Between bar noise vehicles and trains quite noisy
- Jonathan (6/5): - Not enough heat in the room, and entrance door need to improve seals. A lot of draft coming through under door. Cable TV does not work. It is okay for just staying over night.
- Christopher (2/5): - The heat went out in my room and they would not give me a different room. It was -35 and they brought me a space heater. The wind coming through under the door was more than that could handle. The temp in the room was lower than the broken thermostat on the heat control could measure.
- Candace (1/5): Bad - Location was not to bad.. The room was bloody cold snd tv volume didn't work. Checked in about 6pm or so. Brought portable heater to help with cold room. Tried to get settled. Volume on TV was up and couldn't get it turned down. Call office and sent husband who didn't speak English. Went out 3 times to fix volume. Asked why no heat coming out of register, he went over to thermostat, that had not cover, turned it up. After 15 mins of sitting in room with jacket on for last hour, waiting for heat. Register cold as it is outside. Which by the way is -28 with windchill -42. Went to office to get refund and was told that they couldn't because I booked through a 3rd party. Funny office had so much heat the windows were steamed up. Go figure. Left . Not very happy.
- Richard (2/5): - Gotta keep asking for towels an stuff to changed out
- Richard (2/5): - Gotta keep asking for towels an stuff to changed out
- Noelle (3/5): Would not stay again - Location to our event Unclean, no coffee ,?no glasses, only 1towel, no cups
- Joe (8/5): Very good -
- Doyle (1/5): Bad -
- Deborah (2/5): - We liked the antique car; we liked the location. After that it goes downhill fast: registration card was asked to be completed in pencil; faucet handle in the bathroom completely pulled off - brought the lady from the front desk to look at it, she just put it back on and proceeded to show me how to use it, followed by "oh well, I didn't charge you a damage deposit"; tub/shower was leaking onto floor beside toilet; towels were sandpaper rough; tub and sink both were chipped; no fan in the bathroom; paint chipping on the walls in the bathroom; knob missing on the shower pull out mechanism; there were not 2 double beds as advertised (one was a queen and one was a full); approximately 3 inch ice build up in the fridge/stove/sink appliance; pots and pans for cooking provided however there were no utensils to cook with; no fitted sheets on beds and the sheets that were provided did not fit the queen bed; pillows were pancake like (very flat); holes in sheets on the full mattress; lamp shade backing broken on the inside of the shade. We were called back to Winnipeg unexpectedly and had to cut our trip short. We asked for a refund of the 2 remaining days and were told we had to go back to Expedia for the refund. Upon speaking with 2 Expedia reps (Freya and Augi) we were told that Capone's had to approve or deny the refund. They denied it indicating we did not give 24 hrs notice. We then did provide 24 hrs notice and should be refunded for 1 night. DON'T STAY HERE!
- John (10/5): Very happy with Capone's Hideaway, stay there both coming and going from the West Coast to Manitoba. - Great place for the price and the location. An excellent Chinese food Buffet (Jade Garden) is just down the street at 471 Main Street (East side of Main). Only around 18-19 bucks 😊
And for the record I'm not Mexican, no idea how to change that, I'm Canadian 🇨🇦 😊
- kim (6/5): - Everything that we wanted to do, was within walking distance. The motel is a little outdated but you cannot deny the convenience and price for location. The Capone car and sign is a nice touch.
The service was amazing, thank you Jas for everything.
- Helena (6/5): Cheap option in the heart of downtown but needs updating - Great location downtown! Our room had lots of space, including a kitchen area with two different tables and a couple of chairs. The bed was very uncomfortable (springs sticking in the back) and the room desperately needs updating. The quality of finishes is sub-par, at best.
- Young (5/5): It was alright... - No breakfast provided
- Nancy (10/5): - The young lady who checked me in was friendly and very helpful when I struggled to open the room door.
- Jean (2/5): - Could not believe the state of this property. The so-called double bed was an oversized twin. The floor was dirty and although located very well, it is run-down and dirty. We did not stay once we saw the room.
- Judy (4/5): It was okay for the price. - I liked the location . It was close to downtown and the event that i was attending. Did not bring fresh towels daily or change the garbage. The air conditioner in my room worked fine but it didn't work in some of the other rooms.
- Jodi (1/5): Bad - Location Staff, the woman at the check-in desk, was very rude. My key did not work in the door, she accused me not knowing how to put the key into the door. The maintenance person came and tried the key. It did not work, he had to get a replacement key.
Paking was very limited. The room was very dated, and the bathroom was not clean. The air conditioning unit did not cool the room and was very loud. The carpet should have been replaced a decade ago.
- Carol (4/5): - My room never got clean towels, the garbage wasn't emptied in the 3 days i stayed there. The air conditioner was very noisy and didn't even cool the room down.
- Sherry (5/5): Passable -
- Elaine (1/5): Bad - Nothing Too noisy and crackheads banging on our door at 3:00am
- Terra (6/5): Won't return - Location was great! Dirty, smelly, stained carpets, bathroom ceiling was falling apart, staff was rude, very old mattresses, loud water pipes
- Donald (8/5): - The room was clean. The price was right. It was very convenient for the sites we wanted to see. Within walking distance to so many interesting places. Best of all, I won some money 💰 at the Casino.
- Naomi (1/5): Bad motel - unhelpful staff, poor facilities - The location was downtown, but also it was where shady characters hung out. We booked 2 rooms, and one of the rooms smelled of smoke even though it’s a non smoking room. Staff tried to tell me the room was just stuffy from being closed up for a few days. We request another room, the only one available cost more, staff made me pay the extra for the bigger room instead of upgrading for free. One room had a lamp that was a fire hazard, when one of my kids plugged it in, the breakers tripped. There was no coffee machine and they said they had no more. One of the toilets was plugged on arrival and I spend awhile plunging it. Things were old and there were some shady characters there, one sat outside our room and smoked drugs. Staff were unhelpful. This is a 1 star motel.
- Daniella (10/5): - Great location, but definitely in need of an upgrade! Staff was nice!
- Klazina (6/5): Pleasant - The beds weren’t clean and not very comfortable for a family to share the beds. Beds were small and low to the ground. The bathroom seemed old. Handles and taps were loose.
- Carolyn (5/5): Adequate but not comfortable. - It was a cheap bed for the night. We didn’t expect much and it was not luxurious but was clean and functional. Walls were painted cement blocks. Room was dark and musty. Not enough electrical outlets and no clothes hangers on the rail.
- Lee (6/5): - Was ok I guess.
- Lynda (6/5): Pleasant -
- syd (10/5): - great time :)
- Richard (6/5): Good location but noisy - It was right downtown, close to the Tunnels attraction and the murals around town. Double edged sword... because it was right downtown, it was very noisy. Traffic noise and some guests came back around 3:00 a.m. and were talking loudly outside our room. The lighting in room was not adequate.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- DIANE (2/5): - Do not stay here. Checked in than out as it was not safe to stay. Cops were there!
- Edf (2/5): Never again. The information on Booking.com is very misleading. - Nothing. There weren’t any towels in the bathroom. The outside door did not close and lock properly. The deadbolt could not be locked Ed from the outside. The person on the front desk did not know anything about the city.
- Joseph (10/5): - Great
- Brendan (8/5): - Friendly staff and great location
- Peter (10/5): - Everything was great, no complaints
- Esin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Theresa (2/5): Staff was disinterested. - No breakfast Staff
- Theresa (3/5): Damage deposit $100.00 per room. Out of toilet paper. Was told to come to the desk - No breakfast. Staff response
- Glen (7/5): Good - Very close to things we wanted to see!
Staff where good. It was so noisy from traffic traveling up and down the roads. Very noisy.
- David (4/5): Disappointing -
- Anonymous (5/5): Passable -
- Jaspreet (10/5): Exceptional - Corporative staff and very helpful with guests..
- Robert (6/5): - There was a huge gap under the entry door that allowed the snow to pile up on the carpet, and I could not get the television to work.
- Dawn (1/5): Bad -
- Jared (2/5): - Broken lamp, peeling paint on walls, faucet wasn't secure to the sink. Bug on the wall once you walked in
- Cristian (1/5): Bad -
- Frank (5/5): Passable -
- Benjamin (8/5): - It was good a little noisy
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anaya (6/5): - Good value for the price. However, it is time for a new mattress in #33.
- Thoms (1/5): Bad - Greeted with a friendly smile and the location was great!! Loud! Absolutely terrible bed, worst I have ever slept on! Was awoken during my only 2 hours I was able to sleep due to the bed and the traffic/train to violent fighting in the next room at 3am. Will never return to this motel. Very poor wifi
- Leigh-ann (10/5): would definitely stay here again - it was handy to all the places we wanted to go no complaints
- Ruth (1/5): Bad - the front desk woman was very kind there were bugs EVERYWHERE, in the bathroom, sink, toilet, they were crawling on the bed and floors. There were cigarette burns on the bed, graffiti on tables. it was disgusting
- Denis (7/5): This is a good motel if you want to stay in downtown Moose Jaw, but noisy with traffic. - This motel is located right in downtown Moose Jaw, so most of the attractions and shopping was within walking distance. The staff did not read the request I made when I booked the room. I wanted a room on the main floor because we are travelling with an older dog which has difficulties using stairs. So they had us booked on the second floor. Luckily there was an available room on the main floor. The bed was not comfortable, too soft. Very noisy outside because the motel is located at two busy streets. Had to keep the air conditioner on to drown the noise.
- Monica (5/5): The room was adequate and cleanliness is the most important thing. - It was close to all the downtown amenities including the event we were there to attend. The young man at the front desk when we checked in was super friendly and very helpful when we discovered I had booked a room with only one bed and got me a room with two beds for our stay. There was no coffee in the room and the water in the bathroom was lukewarm at best. The lamps were on the same switch as the overhead lights so you had to get out of bed to turn the lights off. We were given a wi-fi password but no wi-fi networks showed up on the scan.
- willard (8/5): - The location and easy access to all the sites
- Deborah (7/5): Good - Central location for walking to restaurants and tunnel tours across the street. After staying there this spring, and being double-charged (once by booking.com and once by the property), I came prepared with my proof of payment. Good thing I did, as they tried to collect payment from me. I shouldn’t have to prove it, as it defeats the purpose of using booking.com.
Unfortunately, the second night the neighbourhood was quite loud, and there was a broken bottle by my vehicle.
- Frank (9/5): Interesting. - Location, staff, price, ambience. Nothing, I knew what I wanted
- marilyn (8/5): - Property was easily accessible and easy to find. Room had a smell in morning but seamed to reduce at 10PM when we entered room. Lots of restaurants around vacinity. Bathroom door was held together by electrician tape. Mattresses were of poor quality - when sitting down on them you could feel metal ring around top of mattress.
- Norm (6/5): - Ac wasn’t working well enough bed not so good
- Donald (10/5): It was great - Staff where awesome price is well worth it and it was clean I've stayed there 7 different times one room had spoty wifi
- Debbie (2/5): I would definitely NOT recommend this motel. - The only thing I like about this place was the location. Upon arrival, I noted that there was filming going on in one of the motel room which went on for hours...what kind of movie is made in an old motel? The motel itself is very old and the rooms had painted concrete walls, with marks and chips; the bed was old and uncomfortable with graffiti on the old brown headboard with 2 flat pillows; some of the towels were grey. I have never stayed in such a sketchy place and even considered finding another place to stay...I very much regret this booking!
- Beverley (4/5): - Room smelled, burn marks everywhere,we had to clean air condtioner just to get rid of some oder and dirt, heaters im sure have never been cleaned, carpet was discusting
- Leslie (8/5): Very clean - Extremely clean, friendly owners, very dated, similar to what you get on Route 66,but better value.
- heng (10/5): - Good
- Dic (10/5): - Very nice staff. Very accommodating and helpful
- Charmaine C (8/5): - Old building. Needs upgrading but very clean. Downtown area so good location
- Nicole (6/5): - Had no working a/c in my unit and the wifi didnt work in the room only outside the door
- Janice (8/5): - I needed a room just to sleep in. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Although it was somewhat updated , you could recognize it was an older place. I didnt want a continental breakfast ..none was provided. I had coffee, fidge and a microwave. Good location. Right across the street from the tunnels and 2 blocks from the Casino. Good shopping and restaurants downtown. It was very quiet for a friday night downtown. TV worked well. Lots of free parking, if i needed it.
