Guest Reviews
- Danita (6/5): - If your young and just want a bed to sleep in, great but if you are looking for comfort, need to pass on staying there.
- Richard (10/5): - Great place to stay
- Michael (10/5): - Easy check in,convenient parking,and the room is nice!!!
- Erica (8/5): - Great spot near the beach.
- PAUL (10/5): - Parking and steps away from beautiful beach
- Tracy (10/5): - Lovely stay. Exactly what we excepted.
- Edwin (4/5): - The only good thing is that it is close to the beach.
- rebecca (8/5): - Lamp shades were dirty, and rugs need cleaning or new flooring.
- Shauntel (10/5): - Great location! Staff is friendly and the area is amazing
- MATTHEW (10/5): - Perfect walking distance to the ocean. Short drive to anything you need. Will visit again.
- Grisha (10/5): - Not expensive.
- Debra (10/5): - Staff is friendly and very helpful.
- Sharon (8/5): - Desk staff was friendly and personal. Room was a little run down, and seemed as if floors
- YOHANQUI (8/5): - Clean.
- Frank (8/5): - This hotel is in an ideal location, particularly well-suited for my needs as I needed to be able to walk to the beach. The decor is dated and little run down, but the sheets and towels were plentiful and smelled freshly laundered. They also provided soap and shampoo packets which were appreciated. There is a convenience store next door which is very useful.
- Joseph (8/5): - Love the place. Clean room. Fresh towels. Didn’t like the smokers on the porch
- Jeffrey (8/5): - It was a close walk to the beach
- Laureen (8/5): - Great place for location to the beach and restaurants. Motel room was clean and had mini fridge. It was your no frills kind of place, very basic and could use some small upgrading (maybe a new toilet seat). If you want a very inexpensive place to stay with a great location, this is your place.
- Zina (10/5): - Great place , friendly staff and walkable distance to eateries and beach.
- Lisette (6/5): - Not a bad location.
- Lindsey (4/5): - We couldn't walk barefoot in our room because the floor was dirty it turned our feet black!
- Frank (4/5): - Musty,dirty,bugs not clean at all
- Paul (10/5): - The location is right next to the beach.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Pretty good - It wasn’t to bad! For 2 nights we paid basically 540$ so a little pricy for just a room. The room was clean and kept pretty cold throughout the day. The bathroom was clean, shower was extremely small. The worst part about the room was the bed. My gf and I had a hard time sleeping throughout the whole trip just due to the bed. The beach was only a 4 minute walk and multiple places to eat/hangout. Easy access to everything the town has to offer. But overall it was ok!
- John (10/5): - Clean property easy reservation and very respectful staff
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Somewhat rundown, but clean. Otherwise, good.
- Lisa (2/5): - As soon as we got into the room, we smelt mildew. I asked for another room, the lady wasnt happy about doing it.
- Robert (6/5): - In the back they might have had a water problem and in the evening it did not smell good.
- Eric (4/5): - A basic run-down beach motel. Bring medication if you have mildew allergies. It's close to the beach and a few places for casual dining.
- Jason (6/5): - Nice enough place but just might get a neighbor from hell keeping you up till 4am
- Mei Yue (4/5): - Everything is old, old and old
- Kiley (2/5): - Stayed here 3 years ago and it was fine.
Came back this weekend and it was horrible.
Dirty stains on sheets, black mold all over the shower curtain and in bathroom corners, AC was covered in mold and rust, the room smelled awful.
The window screen was broken and letting bugs in which were dying by the dozens in the window well. So we had to keep the window shut and leave the door open all night long just to be able to breathe which felt extremely unsafe.
Two out of three of us had respiratory attacks upon getting into the beds. I got out my sleeping bag and slept on top of the blankets.
It was a terrible night and we tried to talk to the owner in the morning and cancel our second night's reservation. He refused to work with us because we booked through Expedia, said we need to deal with them.
So we got in touch with Expedia who claimed to call the owner on our behalf, and he told them we left the hotel due to bad weather and he refused to refund our second night even though we'd left the hotel by 9am. So that was a straight up lie. We went next door to a different hotel and salvaged the day.
Now Expedia is saying they're bound to the hotel's policy and the hotel owner is saying he can't help us, only Expedia can. Both giving us the run around and effectively stealing our money for the second night that we did not use.
So disappointed with both companies. Point One Motel running a super shady business and Expedia doing nothing to protect the customer. Beware.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Great location and accommodating staff, but the cleanliness was horrible. The floor and surfaces in the room were sticky, the bedding was very musty and smelled, there was mold along the caulking in the shower, and bathroom ceiling tiles were severely water damaged. The toilet took forever to flush, and you could hear the hot water heater creaking when the rooms around us showered. A lot of people smoked directly outside of their rooms which wafted in, and the walls were paper thin. Overall just very dirty and run down- I was shocked that there are so many good reviews.
- Maria (10/5): - This was a cute little beach hotel. Exactly what we thought it would be. Slightly outdated but clean and a super comfortable stay! Beach is walkable, staff was super friendly! Would definitely stay here again! Worth the reasonable price of being so close to the beach!
- James (6/5): - The coffee creamer in the room was supposed to be powered like creamora but it was like white paste; next time I will bring my own or drink the coffee black.
Otherwise it was a good experience.
- Jon (2/5): Never again - The mattress died years ago and will take some time to recover. Upon arrival there was sand on floors. Toilet is about 2’ off floor needed my wife to help me. Bathroom ceiling tiles falling apart and molding. Shower has black mold.
And then the neighbor smoking outside our door.
It was all around a torturous stay.
- Stephanie (6/5): - I stayed here for two nights. The room is your basic motel setup and could use some updating. It was mostly clean, but you could tell things like the light bulbs hadn’t been dusted in a while. Check-in was easy, and the location is super convenient—walking distance to the beach and lots of bars and restaurants. One major issue was the parking. We had more than two cars and, despite paying the $20 fee for a second car (since there's a one car per room rule), the guy threatened to tow our second car if we didn’t move it somewhere before 8 PM. We ended up having to park it at a Walmart about 10 minutes away, even after paying the fee.
- Colleen (6/5): - The motel is in walking distance of the beach and restaurants. It is clean, but no frills. The only problem was that the room and the bedding smelled dank. Hopefully they correct that, because otherwise Point1 is a convenient beach vacation spot.
- Maureen (2/5): - You could tell it had been flooded out before. they use paper on the glass doors. only one way out. warped floor. very dirty. never cleaned behind furniture. lost an earring. found the extra remote. fridge filthy microwave . floor never swept or washed. neighbors smoking pot drinking. The room wreaked of pot from next door. glad i brought my own Clorox wipes. the bathroom never swept or mopped. shower so small toilet made for a child. small flys all over the bathroom and sink. . had to wash the coffee pot . crappy one so old. parking is horrible . I didnt ask for another room i couldnt climb stairs and didnt want extra charges. . Its not a resort. Wish I went to pleasure view.
- Adriano (10/5): - I really liked it and it's close to the beach
- Gunar (6/5): - I wish it was a little more updated.
- Marc (10/5): - Clean
- Bernadette (10/5): - I loved everything about this location. The only thing I would ask is that they leave a brim in the room so we can sweep up the sand after a trip to the beach.
- Alex (10/5): - We had a great day. The staff was very helpful. Very easy to walk to the beach. We’re able to check in early and the account extra room for my son. Great staff great experience.
- Nicole (6/5): - The bed was so uncomfortable, it felt like I was sleeping on the boxspring.
- Steve (2/5): - We opened the door to our room and were met by a wave a nauseating odor. We inspected the room further to find human hair woven into a supposedly clean towel.
A few minutes later we returned to the front desk and informed them we would not be staying.
Despite the nonrefundable reservation, they graciously agreed to cancel our resy without charges.
- Anna (6/5): - I was not impressed at all. Yes, it's a place to sleep by the ocean but the room was so run down, warped bathroom door, ceiling is peeling and definitely needs an upgrade. It was not worth the price. Dont let the name fool you, Resort it is definitely NOT!
- Samuel (6/5): Location and nice ataff - Staff is very friendly, the place is just worn out. everything worked aside from some of the lamps and the overhead bathroom heater.
- John (10/5): - Close to the beach, allowed early check in.
- Brian (10/5): - Awesome service for what you would expected the beach, the front desk manager was more than personable and made sure we had a great stay
- AMY (8/5): - This is an old beach hotel, and if you’re expecting more than that, you will be disappointed. The carpets, linens, and decor are all old and worn.
It was clean, the heater worked so it was warm, and it’s a half a block from the beach. We weren’t there for the beach, but I would definitely go back and stay there for the beach.
- william (10/5): We keep returning they are so great here! - Stayed here before and always excellent. Staff tries to really please the guests. In a great real beach town with a great vibe,
- Elizabeth (6/5): - The building could use a face lift and some TLC. The attendant was nice and overall encounter was fine. The room was old but clean. It’s near a near beautiful beech and was priced well.
- Cara (10/5): Point One - Small simple room, very clean and right across the street from the beach. The room was a little musty smelling but was very clean and after opening the window for a bit, it seemed to have aired out. Would definitely stay here again if ever out that way.
- Natasha (6/5): - Very out dated. About a block from the beach tho which is nice. Front desk was nice. Parking is pretty limited
- PAUL (10/5): - Beautiful location beautiful beach
- brian (10/5): - very simple hotel. very nice staff. large comfortable room. microwave and mini fridge. very affordable.
- Jennifer (2/5): - Our stay at this hotel from Sunday PM to Thursday AM was anything but a vacation. From the very beginning, the manager/owner was incredibly disrespectful. One morning, he banged on our door like a police officer, asking an unnecessary question, despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign. I was startled and told him I would come to the door, but he became increasingly agitated and condescending, especially because I am a woman.
We had family visit us for a day, and the harassment continued. He approached us around ten times, insisting they couldn’t stay and that they must leave by 3 PM, threatening to tow our car, despite the fact that my car was the only one parked in his lot. After our family left that night, he shockingly approached my husband and me, holding a gun, and said, “If I find out anyone is in your room, I’m going to shoot you.”
This was not a vacation; it was a nightmare. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. It was a terrifying and hostile environment, and we couldn’t leave fast enough. Avoid this place at all costs!
- Donna (10/5): - Our stay was great the place was very clean, and the staff was very nice, walking distance to the beach. I do recommend Point 1.
- Thomas (10/5): - The owners were very concerned. Went out of their way to make sure you were comfortable. There was barbecues available on the property. Always a pleasurable experience. Happy to see you and make sure you stay as comfortable. The facility is definitely dated however it’s clean.
- Marie A (10/5): - Clean, comfortable and the family that owns the property could not be more friendly! Quick walk to the beach, and restaurants.
- Stacy (8/5): - The owners were very nice ans very accommodating. Great location and clean.
- Anastasia (6/5): - The beds are extremely uncomfortable
- Victoria (8/5): - Was hesitant booking as it’s a bit outdated but for the price and location it was perfect! perfect walking distance from the beach and all surrounding bars/restaurants on that strip which is ideal when drinking. The cleaning staff was on top of things and the Jacuzzi was very clean. Air conditioning put in WORK! absolutely no complaints and would recommend to other as well as stay here again!
- Gina (6/5): - I give this an average rating. Nothing spectacular. Literally a bed, a table, microwave and small fridge, a bathroom with towels and tv. Nothing on walls, paper blinds over door, not even a clock. Perfect place to just sleep without any frills. Fantastic location though.
- Susan (10/5): - Excellent ! We have stayed before in the past and the owners are very accommodating
- cynthia (2/5): - This shouldn’t even be listed as an Expedia approved property. Please do not bring children here. I almost drive 2 hours home instead of sleeping in this terrible terrible motel. I think it’s time to sell and knock it down. I can’t believe Expedia let me pay $266 and risk my safety to stay there. I feel bad for the staff/owners because they really do try. But that isn’t enough to run a successful business. Needs a complete renovation to meet sanitation requirements. I’m washing everything that touched anything on that floor. Do better Expedia
- Lana (10/5): - OK, it’s true. The owners who take care of the place live on the property, so it smells like good home cooking 24/7. There are patches in the wall, the towels smell like bleach, but there are stains, the toilet is tiny, and to accommodate the toilet, the toilet paper is very thin. But considering that everywhere else is double the price, this place is excellent. If you want a luxury stay, stay somewhere else and pay $500/night instead of $250. But if you just want a place to crash after the beach and a couple drinks, you can’t beat it. And the family who takes care of it is so nice.
- Joyce (8/5): - Good clean beach hotel. Short walk to beach.
- Cheryl (10/5): - Great
- Susan (10/5): - Walking distance to food and the beach
- Nancy (8/5): - Close to beach and plenty of parking free
- KERRI (10/5): - They were VERY accommodating!! My husband is disabled, and we arrived at the hotel around noon. Check-in time is at 3:00 but they let us check in anyway!! Very friendly, rooms were very clean!! I had no complaints whatsoever!! I woul highly recommend Point 1.
- Patricia (4/5): - Our room was very dated and not clean. Cobwebs, spiders, dirty floor, the windows and screens were filthy, there were no curtains so the bright lights kept the room light all night long. Will not return.
- Sarah (4/5): - This property is convenient to the beach in Misquamicut and walkable to local eateries. Parking is also a plus. The room itself was BASIC. Clean enough but lacking anything special. The paper blackout shade on the door made me laugh. The A/C unit was loud coming on and off all night. Fortunately the noise from the A/C blocked out all the loud talking coming from outside our door until past midnight. I’d say only stay here if you have no other options.
- Kevin (10/5): - All good
- Nichole M (10/5): - It was clean
- Mark (8/5): - Very close to the water
- Sheila (10/5): - Love the balcony deck!
- Deborah (8/5): - ok place
- Sarah (4/5): - Very dirty stained towels and heat didn’t work
- Barry (6/5): - Thought it said iron but no iron
- Kevin (8/5): - Not a bad place to stay. walls are a bit thin, water in the sink takes a long time to get warm, but the shower got warm quicker. bed was comfortable. was nice to be half a mile from the start of the race though, very convenient.
- Gabriel (10/5): - The beach is literally like right across the street
- Maudie (8/5): - It was clean, no frills, and a good price
- sally (8/5): - Good value.
- Thomas (8/5): - Close to beach. Room was OK but basic.
- Shanice (2/5): - Neighbors were loud and nothing done about it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Motel suited my basic needs for staying in the area. Due to cooler than normal weather conditions, staff had provided a small electric heater in the room to provide comfort. Thank you.
- Jeannee Colleen (10/5): - We had a great time.
- Tara (8/5): - The staff was very kind to let me check in early so I could get out of the rain. The location is great, just a block from the ocean on a side street to Atlantic Ave, and the price was right. The facility is pretty run down and musty smelling. Probably would be good to replace the carpets. I kept the window open and that helped.
- Cindy (2/5): - Picture fell off wall
Smelled like lysol
Very run down
Paper curtains held up by moving tape ourdoor night light shown through and lit up room
Parking lot very tiny
Tiny shower
- Katherine (8/5): - Suited our requirements to enjoy acouple.of beach based days on a long road trip.
- Elena (10/5): - I will go back.
- Cathy (10/5): - Great hotel clean and very roomy very close to the beach …we will be back
- Robin (6/5): - I liked that it was walking distance to everything
- Robin (8/5): - Our room was very clean and comfortable. The owners are lovely and accommodating people. And the location is good. We would go again!
- Meghan (10/5): - A short walk to the beach and stores/restaurants. A bit outdated but very spacious rooms
- charlotte (8/5): - rooms are outdated but the veiw is nice
- Dakota (10/5): - I mainly enjoyed the peace and quite. Also they were great with service. 10/10 recommend going here !
