• Jason (8/5): Average budget hotel, sufficient but no thrills - Basic compact family room split over two levels - no air conditioning, but it was survivable. We only stayed one night and it was fine for a stop-over on our way to Paris. Breakfast was plentiful and included eggs and bacon as well as a choice of breads, pastries, yoghurts and fruit. There's an abundance of restaurants locally to get an evening meal. Self-checkin via machine with choice of languages, but also English speaking staff on the desk. No noise from adjacent rooms, secure free parking outside rooms. The only thing that let it down was housekeeping knocking at 9am and then loitering outside the room smoking and playing music on her phone (our window was open) until we were ready to leave at 10, even though checkout is listed as noon.
• thierry (6/5): Nous, - Nous sommes arrivés sur place à 16h15, nous avons dû appeler à l'interphone 2 fois, car nous n'avions pas le bon code pour rentrer et la réception était fermée. La personne nous l'a donné. Nous avons reçu celui ci 2 heures après notre arrivée. Les extérieurs ont besoin aj minimum d un bon coup de balai, les marches et les terrasses des étages, il y avait beaucoup de mégots. La chambre, la salle de bains et la literie étaient correctes, la cliche de la porte de la salle de bains a besoin d être réparée.

• Waqas (8/5): Our stay - Great service, comfortable beds only downsides were bugs on the bed, no lock on tue bathroom, no shower curtains soball the water spilled and there was no mop to clean it. Adding to this the Internet was unstable at times.Also one of our souvenirs went missing. Overall it was still a great place to stay at.
• Malu (6/5): - De kamer is krap en muffig. De airco deed het niet waardoor het extreem warm was in de kamer. We konden geen andere kamer krijgen, want met een gezin aan het reizen. Ter compensatie kregen we gratis ontbijt aangeboden. Ontzettend aardig, maar de nacht was behoorlijk afzien met z’n allen in de warme krappe kamer. Bij eenzelfde hotel, maar andere locatie hadden we alleen maar goede ervaringen dus dit was een kleine tegenvaller.

• JH2901 (6/5): Ok for one night - A very basic place to stay. Rooms are outdated and really small. The first impression was clean, but only if you don't take a second look. We had a family room and the upper part needs some real cleaning, dust in every corner... This really is a shame, because outdated rooms are not an issue as long as it is spotless clean. The beds are ok and we all slept well. The breakfast is very good, we enjoyed it and the choices are good for a hotel in this price segment. The staff we met was very friendly and helpful. Overall, ok for the price as a stop over for just one night.
• Matthijs (8/5): - The room was useful for one night. Too small for four persons but it was just for sleeping. Unfortunately it is nearby a road with traffic 24/7. Didn't get much sleep because the airco was not working and with the window open it was too loud because of the nearby highway

The service was really nic since we checked in at midnight and you can only pay by creditcard at the self check in. I did not have one so the manager showed up to help. Many thanks for that! Breakfast was also really nice, especially for the price they charge for it. So bottomline: I would recommend it.

Poils dans la douche, cheveux dans le lit, poussière sur le tapis, sur le distributeur de savon, par terre dans les coins. Moisissure sur le plafond de la douche voir le rideau de douche et araignée au plafond... Pas tellement d'insonorisation. Pour un hôtel deux étoiles, une serviette par personne est proposée. Aucun équipement du type sèche cheveux. Bref déçue.

More available at reception - but reception only staffed at certain times. Don’t really want to call the ‘emergency’ number just for towels (or extra pillows!). Chose the B&B as it offered air con. Totally useless - just blowing room temperature air around. The only thing it was good for was drowning out the traffic noise when we gave up and opened the window.
• JB_and_Amy (2/5): Cigarette smell and unsafe doors - Not up to expectations at all. Heavy external doors felt unsafe with children. Room smelt of stale cigarette smoke which also affected the bedding and didn’t clear after airing the room. We left without staying and booked in elsewhere.

Toilet very small I felt like shower room in caravan. Very noisy from main road, can not open the windows as you wouldn't sleep with all that noise. Air-conditioning working but more like a fan , there was no cold air coming from it. Place good with kids older than 3 years old, as stairs very narrow and steap. Door to the room very heavy and you can hear anyone opening and closing their doors. Staf must say was lovely and very helpful, with minimum English but trying to help you No kettle in the room. Parking on site. A lot of shops around. Overall 5/10

Point positif la localisation

• FamVerschoor (6/5): - Hotel is geschikt voor 1 overnachting van 3 of 4 personen op een kamer. Het ligt dicht aan een snelweg die ‘s nachts niet stil wordt. Op onze kamer was geen airco of anders was hij kapot. Op een warme nacht lijkt het me geen pretje om er te slapen met het raam dicht tegen het snelweggeluid. Ontbijt was in orde.

Chambre bruyante à proximité de l autoroute. Salle e de bain à la propreté douteuse. Point positif: accueil +++ de la réceptionniste qui nous a proposé des couettes supplémentaires

Don't be fooled by this hotels new exterior. They should have spent the money renovating theinteriror more than a lick of paint and an mdf bed. The floor was filthy and stained, the toilet covered in brown stains, plastic cups in my son's bed, door locks didn't work, air con didn't work, shower looked so grim none of us used it, curtain was hanging off, pillows were so thin they were pointless. Just grim totally grim. Not particularly cheap at 90 euros for a room either.

Rooms are basic but comfortable and what you would expect for the price. Good restaurants within walking distance. Make sure you have your booking reference if arriving outside of office hours as you use a machine to check in.

• Andy (8/5): Helpful Receptionist - The first room that we were given was tired and a bit tatty to be honest. The bannister for the mezzanine was loose and so the gate didn't secure, blackout curtain not hung properly, bathroom door didn't close etc. The 2 adjacent rooms had dogs (3 in total) which had been left unattended by their owners and were barking constantly for over 30 minutes. I went to reception to ask them to either speak to the dogs absent owners or move us. The receptionist tried to contact the owners and was very helpful and did indeed move us to another room. This room was actually in much better condition although it did smell of smoke. However, with the window open and after we had all taken showers this was not apparent. All in all we were very pleased.
• 938nataleej (6/5): Basic and smells of Tobacco - Checking in was at night an no staff so we used this automated machine. A group of men approached us advising they worked for the hotel and showed us how to use the machine as we had trouble checking in. Rooms are small but great for a short stay. My room stunk of tobacco even though i booked a non smoking room. We had some pretty feral neighbours but that's not the hotel's fault. Close to the Australian War Memorial which is why we went. Villers-Bretonneux was lovely to visit.
