• Helen (10/5): It was great❤️❤️❤️ - Been here couple times& loved always my stay just across the beach so its a bonus…The owner is nice and accommodating…They allow us to park my vehicle at their premises even we already check out which makes us more happy for we just stay at the beach to relax before we head home…we had a nice stay….always come back here yearly and always book here in Racoon…
• Andrew (3/5): Would not stay there again and 8 star rating should be a 2 star rating - Location - close to lake and Main Street Old run down rooms , TV should have had bunny ears antennas ,2 hours late to be checked in to be honest room looked like it should be from a 1970’s pay by the hour style room .. if your into that kinda thing ha.

• Stacy (7/5): Great location and good for an affordable getaway from the City. - Location is prefect and we could see the lake from our room. We needed three beds and this was by far the most affordable option. We stayed in a family suite. Beds are decades old-if you have back or joint issues, stay somewhere else. The room (other than the kitchen) appeared to be original to the 1960s/70s. Which is fine for aesthetics but not fine if the smell of mildew bothers you. The room was also very dark and lacks any decent lighting. Staff is super friendly and helpful and it is clear they do their best keep the rooms and grounds clean.

• Mariel Alexis (10/5): - We stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days and everything was just great. At first we were booked at a room without a kichenette (my mistake, I forgot to call beforehand to inform them that we wanted a room for cooking) but nonetheless, they agreed to transfer us right away on another room which we appreciate a lot. Overall, the place was clean and well maintained, and the owners were very warm and welcoming. 10/10 will definitely book our stay here again next time ❤️
• Alexander (8/5): - The location is perfect, right at the beach and in the middle of all the food and drinks. It needs some maintenance and the shower was like a sandblaster. The host is very friendly and helpful. Parking on the property is a giant plus, since the town has literally no parking spots left close to 11 am unless you want to walk half an hour to the beach.

The water taps needs a new filter in the bathroom and the kitchen sinks because the water doesn’t come out properly. The cold water tap in the shower doesn’t work but the hot water is only warm so I guess that worked .

• Laradawn (10/5): We will be back every summer we’ve found our favorite stay in Alberta!!! - This place is amazing, cannot rave enough about how the staff and management treat you so amazingly. It feels as it is in the heart of the the fun. We blew up our paddle boards and walked right into the lake across the street. Awesome beach area right in front of the hotel, also right beside the big moo, 2 min walk from Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, liquor and convenience stores as well as countless restaurants and bars that are mostly kid and pet friendly. It is an older motel but that was actually why we chose it. I love the cabin style interior( even the rustic smell! You feel you are walking into the past) THE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT ARE THE BEST! So so sweet willing to help and bring anything, awesome to chat with. Typically when we find a vacation spot we like we chose different hotels to stay each time. But as long as this place is available this will be our go to. Ps… check out the sail boat at the rental docks. We had so much fun The only negative thing I personally had was the dirty bathtub as my family likes to bathe for the most part but that was nothing, we just chose to take quick showers instead.

• Robert (4/5): Basic expensive motel - This is a room for dogs. It’s a basic motel that has been cosmeticly fixed up. Because it’s dog friendly the baseboards have been chewed lots. But at 200/night rather expensive

• Svitlana (7/5): Good location, but need update badly. - Location was very good. Just in front of the lake. Old carpets, old furniture, old TV, old towels. No hooks in the bathroom, no extra chairs. Dishes were dirty, needed to rewash them. There were only 3 bigger towels, no hand towels or face towels for 4 people. Only 3 cups, 2 glasses, no kitchen towels. Had to ask for extra and it was provided. Cigarette smell in the room although they asked us not to smoke inside. Stayed in much better motels for much less.
• Katherine (8/5): Beach Front with Customer Service - Our room was excellent. Old, but clean and right across from the beach. The staff really set this hotel apart. They were so incredibly accommodating and suggested a different room than we had booked for our needs. They went out of their way to host us for the night as for the size of room we wanted they normally require a 2 night stay! We can’t praise them enough. They are great people with a lovely hotel on the beach. They even let us have late checkout leading up to a long weekend. We can’t recommend them enough. Book!

• Ganna (9/5): I have been vacationing here with my family for the second year already and will come again next year - spacious rooms and ideal location to the beach there are not enough dishes in the kitchen, but we received everything upon request.

The hotel is right on Lakeshore Drive which is great location beside the lake, but the corner unit where I was the street noise was an issue including muscle cars'engine revving until midnight on a rainy evening. Plus, the corner unit has the stairs down and noisy children ran up and down the stairs up to 10 pm, and then in the unit above me until 11pm, but that's the parent's fault not the owners.

• Kristen (8/5): Retro and relaxing and right on the lake - Great value for money. It's retro and relaxing and right on the lake! The owners are amazing, and very present. They are there to check you in and walk you through all the elements of the motel. It was perfect for our one night stay to take in the Open Water race. The location can't be beat. It's a classic old motel, but very, very, very clean. It's an old building, so we could hear people coming and going above us. Nothing terrible though.

It’s a motel standard obviously things can be upgraded etc but honestly it was kept well clean staff were awesome don’t really have any major complaints
• Steve Rickaby (8/5): Sylvan Lake's Best Location - Right across from the Main Beach, nice Lake View, easy to find, restaurants and pubs withing walking distance, More Moo Ice-cream only 2 doors down, good Donair place right beside it, amazing owners. It's a party town, so of course there are drunks walking the streets at 2 a.m., but nothing the Motel could do about it. That's the price you pay for a good price and awesome location.

• Elizabeth (3/5): Overpriced and really run down - Great location and free parking, front desk staff was super friendly. It’s EXTREMELY run down. The pillows are quite literally as fluffy as a folded towel, but not one of the towels they provided because they were threadbare and mysteriously unable to absorb water. We actually considered purchasing our own pillows for the duration of the stay because they were THAT BAD. The floor, bathtub and carpet are stained and gritty, the bed is super lumpy and old, the sheets had cigarette holes, the keys barely work in the door and they charge you $25 if you don’t wash all the dishes and speaking of dishes there was only one spoon. There were no bedside tables or lights so we had to use a camping light or our phones to locate the bed after turning off the room light.

• Zafrina (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay at Raccoon Lodge Motel. The location was excellent, being across the street from the lake and within walking distance to many great eateries. The operators were very kind and flexible with our needs of travelling with our cats. They were very responsive to our questions prior to our arrival as well. The motel is dated and could use some upgrading but the room was spacious and clean. Overall, we would stay there again.
• Tina (10/5): - Was there for a little weekend getaway. The staff was incredible, very friendly, upbeat and accommodating! While not the best stocked kitchenette we had everything we needed to make simple meals. We were warned of noise coming from across the alley from the bar and the band playing but it certainly wasn’t enough to disturb our sleep. I would stay again during the quiet season only because I would imagine being right across from the lake it would get noisier in the busy summer months and I would want someplace where I wouldn’t hear loud car and motorcycle noise. But if you wanted to be close to the action and very reasonably priced and clean this is the place to be.

• Christopher (8/5): Good day at the Raccoon - Tierney is the manager and was extremely gracious and welcoming. We'd stay there again just because of him. Room was clean and comfortable. Beautiful spot, right on the water. Amazing sunsets and easy walk to restaurants and beach. Loud part of town as it's right on the strip and right on the beach.
