• Verified traveler (2/5): - There’s no electricity in our bedroom. We can’t turn on both aircon in the living room at the same time because everything will be out of power. Can’t use the tv coz there’s no internet. It was a terrible experience.

• Vicki (6/5): - Property is old and could use a little maintenance. The stairs to the second floor where not finished neither was the second level patio. When we arrived there was no parking. They told me too bad should have gotten here earlier. So when you book make sure you make it clear you need a parking spot. We got lucky and someone was leaving. We parked and did not move till we checked out. For the room, the queen bed is old and sunken in the middle. Make it hard to sleep two on it. The rooms are outdated but where clean at least. This served its purpose and it was nice were where across the street from the lake. Would go back, but also might spend an extra could bucks on one of the better maintained hotels on other sides.

• Tiffany (2/5): - Checked in, went to our room, was disgusting!! All we could smell in there was smoke, marijuana, and pure filth!! The entire complex and every room you walked by just had awful smells coming from them. My daughter and myself have allergies and we didn’t last 15 minutes in that room. Due to medical reasons we actually couldn’t stay there. They didn’t care. When I asked if they were non-smoking we were told they were non-smoking rooms which was obviously a complete lie! People live in these units and god knows what’s happening in the rooms next to yours. Saw drug deals happening! Disgusting. Checked out right away and asked for a refund and received only $150 back of our over $480 total for the that didn’t happen. DO NOT EVER stay here!! The worst place I have ever been in my entire life! My husband called to talk to a manager a couple days after and voice our frustration and hopefully get a full refund and got hung up on. So much more to this story. But bottom line, DO NOT EVER book a room at this place!!
• Shelyne (6/5): - Great location. Rooms were clean. Check in was smooth. Property needs attention to appearance and better provision of basic amenities (ie: dishcloth & towel in kitchenette unit). If location and price are most important, this hotel is relatively good value.
• Audrey (8/5): Not bad , price ok for older motel with lake view - We had an enjoyable stay .owners are hard working at keep this place decent .its very clean and you have sylvan lake ,right across the street .There is also a good size lawn with a very large firepit .(owners were generous and offered us free wood).I have stayed at this motel several times over the years since the 80's.This is an older motel but well kept and the owners work hard at maintaining it.lovely stay as usual, enjoyed drinks around the firepit, views of the lake and very clean comfortable beds for under $150.
• Jade (2/5): - i checked in at 10:15 ish and opened the fridge and there was a bag of blueberries in the door and a glass with a drink and ice still in the fridge so they didn’t even attempt to clean the fridge out , with checkout being at 11 and check in at 3 the latest someone should’ve been in that room was more than 7 hours before i checked in, the glass still having a decent amount of ice in it makes me think that wasn’t the case. our room had 2 beds, there was only 2 of us sharing a bed, looking at the beds as soon as we got in there was hair and crumbs on top of the blanket, lifted the blanket on the one bed and there was more hair and crumbs and a few pieces of grass, gross, i didn’t even want to lift the other blanket cause i didn’t want to see how gross it was going to be, we slept on top the blanket because we were so grossed out by the beds, also couldn’t find a way to make the room warmer so we were freezing aswell, shower was disgusting, you couldn’t pay me to get in that shower, overall looked like the room wasn’t cleaned and for the price it was absolutely not worth it, only upside is how close it is to the beach, will never stay here again and will discourage everyone i know from going there

Air conditioner, toilet and wifi all didn’t function properly. Very loud guests and no quiet time policy after hours. Nobody at the front desk to talk to.
• Louise (4/5): - Suite was not stocked properly. No dish soap, tea towels. It was a suite for 4 people no utensils, no toaster. They stock the room properly with set of dishes, utensils and pots and pans it is suppose to be a kitchenette. BBQ was filthy and had no brush to clean it with. They dont clean your room daily we had to empty our own garbage and no extra bags so had to go ask for them. Location is perfect. Lawn area is nice.

The in room amenities were not completely stocked (limited cutlery, mismatched dishes, no dish towels or dish soap). We still love coming to this spot. New owners are working hard. I believe they will continue to upgrade this property. We will continue to book here.

They cancelled my reservation in the morning even it the website says i will pay in the property but good thing there is room available. I tried calling them but no one is answering in the phone.

TV cable didn't work. No place to put you stuff or have a little meal. The beds were very bouncy and on wheels. Not a great experience.

However I'm happy to say we were pleasantly surprised. Check in was easy and the owners/workers are super friendly and helpful. We never had to wait for anyone at the front desk. They even upgraded us to a kitchenette at no extra charge! The rooms are what I would expect of an affordable beach motel and relatively basic. The had an air conditioner/fan/dehumidifier and dedicated wifi that was super fast. I also like that they had bathtubs and not just showers, for a chill, relaxing time. The property has a big fire pit and chairs, picnic tables, and barbecues. It's in an absolutely perfect location for going to the beach, restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. We didn't have to drive anywhere. I took off one star because the room could have been a little bit cleaner, some dust/sand, and a few errant bottles etc. from previous guests under the beds. Nothing that would hinder me from coming back.

• Randi (2/5): - I checked in for all of one hour. The room was like a 10x10 jail cell. It smelt horrid. Stale smoke and with someone who has asthma there was no way I could have stayed there. The was patches all over the walls and the bathroom toilet had garbage in it, the shower curtain was stained with mildew. The bathroom sink was next to the kitchenette sink?? It was just my daughter and I and neither one of use felt safe there. I have asked for a refund from the property who chooses to ignore me and Expedia who claims to help but of course they never do. Just a terrible experience. I do not recommends
• paixful (2/5): Stay away - Took 20 min before anyone came to the front desk so we couldn’t check in, sketchy stuff going on in the parking lot all evening, smoke and weed smells strong at 1 am - woke me up. Two queen bed room but only towels for 2 and smallest towels ever. Party in alley behind hotel all night.
• Lorelei (4/5): - The only upside is location but it isn’t worth this price - from no one there to check us in for 20 min to the interesting people hanging out in th parking lot all evening, smell of weed so strong at 1 am that it woke me up; party in back alley, and price was horrible. Room for four and towels for 2 only!
• Kimberly (4/5): - The pictures are nothing like what the actual rooms look like. The room also stated it had a bed and a pull-out bed, but the pull-out didn't actually fit in the room, so it was a couch and a bed, not ideal. Also, the room was "no smoking," but clearly, people have been smoking in it. The microwave was on top of a fridge and wasn't actually able to reach the plug. So, you have to put the microwave on the couch and unplug the AC to plug in the microwave. Then it has two sinks side by side in this tiny room. The layout and design were sorely lacking. The bathroom is closet-sized with no fan. This room is only suitable if you are planning to be here for sleeping and outside the rest of the time. It has the potential to be great with renovations and under different management.
• John (4/5): - The rooms was not as advertised..some rooms shown on the website look decent, the room they gave us was terrible...outdated, holes on the wall, doors don't close, the smell of cigarette smoke lingers, if i did not arrive at 2am i would have not stayed here. I called the staff the morning of my check in to let them know i wont be in until 2am and they mentioned that they are 24hrs. I get there to find that the staff decided they wanted to sleep...it took us 30min to finally get someone to the front desk and check us in! Then to open a door to this terrible room. Never again , until removatons happens ... the room wasnt worth $70 a night let alone $130!
• Lilly (4/5): - The staff were not friendly, the shower was so small it should not of passed inspection, literally 24x24”. When I asked for a box to of Kleenex I was as given an old used almost empty box. There were 2 butter knives, 1 tsp,1fork and no dish towels or dish cleaning rag. When we checked out after 1 night due to conditions when I asked if any money could be reimbursed, even just the pet fee I was told no. 1 key for the room was provided even though the room was booked for 2 adults. I would not recommend which is unfortunate because the location is prime.
• Melissa (4/5): - The location of the property is the one perk, the rest of it was disappointing. The rooms are in poor condition, our room was missing lightbulbs and the bathroom was filthy. When I unfolded the bath mat bugs fell out. The shower was also tiny and difficult to use.

When we walked in the main office attendant showed us to our rooms and we had smelt a unbelievably smell in one of the rooms (a pull out couch with a queen bed) so he offered us another room which only had a queen bed. It worked out for us luckily but he would not give us the difference in price compared to the two rooms back. It was a fine stay just not the cleanliness and the pictures do not compare to what is shown online. I’m giving this such a low rating because we were offered a lower class room because our room we were supposed to have was not clean and we paid more than we should have..and it smelt really bad.
• Sudhanshu (2/5): - Firstly , when i tried booking the room the price came up around $170 , I can’t recall how did it shoot to $245. Now lets talk about place it was a gone show. It smelled mildew and like smoke. One bed was broken . If possible would like my refund. I would have loved to stay on roadside . Pathetic overall
• MrsRawa (2/5): If less than zero was an option, this would be it. - Wow, I don't even know where to begin. Tiniest room ever, and if you sit on the edge of the bed it actually flips over. Toilet hardly flushed, and can you call it a shower if you can't step in it without touching the walls on all sides. If that doesn't persuade you to stay here, then maybe the smell will. The room smells overwhelmingly of cigarettes, dust, and mildew and you can't open a window for fresh air because they've pinned it shut to keep the standing portable air conditioner in place. Be prepared to hear everyone. The holes in the main door are puttied over, and there's splatters of who knows what everywhere. The view is only on the main walkway. Honestly, as I'm typing this, I've got the biggest headache from the smell. You're close to the lake and to the main things, but that's the only thing it's got going for it. You got tourist city prices for brothel accommodations. My husband just tried to close the curtains and it all came crashing down. Instead of a curtain rod, it's a broomstick. Wish us luck, it's going to be interesting

• Hailey (2/5): - Should have known better when we pulled into the parking lot. Got into our room, it smelt of pot so bad pretty sure we all could have got contact high. There was stains all over the sheets and duvets. Other peoples food in the fridge, was questionable if the room was even cleaned. Would not recommend staying here
• Deanna (2/5): - I didnt like the fact that my room smelled of sewage. The toilet wasnt attached to the ground game a couple inches up with mold and feeces. The hotel obviously trying to cover it up with frebreeze and smell beads dumped around the toilet. The beads going deep behind the toilet covering holes behind toilet. The whole place smelled of septic and febreeze. The fridge had a layer of mold inside the door. The shower head had an inch of lime build up on it. I coukd not physically stay thereas the smell was terrible the staff pretended they didnt know along with the owner. Woukd not refund us we didnt stay 1 night but paid 452 for 2 nights. Theh are slum lords and i would not ever stay here unless you want to feel ill. I dont ever complain and deal with things but this was bad they need to be shut down!

• MJ (2/5): - This was the worst hotel/motel/resort I have ever stayed in. There was no room service, the rooms had no keys and did not lock, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom, and I found a spider crawling in the bathroom. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
• Terry (4/5): 1 star motel - Started at check in. Communication was difficult to nearly impossible due to language barrier. Requested a second key and was refused. They stated not available. Room was terrible. On entry you could smell pot. Stains and cigarette burns on the bed sheets and mascara on the pillows. Kitchen items were tumble stacked and not clean. Mop and bucket in the middle of the floor in the bathroom floor. Smoke detector on the night table. We saw enough. Returned their precious key and went to a hotel in Red Deer. I didn’t even bother complaining to the front desk as they didn’t understand English anyway A disgusting motel. The good reviews for this hotel are clearly misleading.
• Larry (2/5): Worst stay ever. - Worst stay ever in my life. I expected cheap but this was ridiculous. Broken furniture, dirty and appliances are from a thrifty shop. The coffee maker didn't even match the pot. A small human could fit in the tiny shower with mold but not an average person.

There were some outdated appliances, but no big deal. Slowly renovating, but takes time. Super convenient being right across from the lake, everything is in walking distance. I would definitely stay here again with my family. Thanks

It smelled like old cigarette smoke and bathroom was so tiny barely 1 person fit, dark and dingy….. things falling apart…. Roaches in room We ended up not staying there….. and were unable to get out money back….

If your expecting a 5 star hotel ,go elsewhere however, Myself and many friends ,over the years have stayed at Beachfront resort, I have never ,ever had an issue with this hotel , had a fabulous time ,each and every time. The owners are renovating each unit and they now have air conditioning. The staff are wonderful! Location is awesome! Don't be swayed by the negative reviews, I'm a Fussy person.this hotel exceeded my expectations. The price is decent as well.thank you Beachfront resort for the wonderful experience again.i will be back soon!

• 261adriennen (2/5): Rip off! Spiders! - Rip off. Told me I was getting a good deal when I booked it. Advertising on marketplace and Facebook a better room for $475 a week, while I’m paying $650 a week. smaller room than marketplace, advertisement, I had to go and buy my own toaster, doesn’t have a lot of necessary, kitchen supplies, does have good selection of color. Old fridge has duct tape on doors, runs all night, long, Noisy building. Room is a mess of mismatched furniture, bathroom sink, and kitchen sink on same counter, room full of spiders, and I have to raid it every night. Complained to management about room on after first night, and they would not refund me the rest of my stay, I had to pre-pay upfront for two weeks. Wasn’t told this over the phone before I got there. Still haven’t given me a copy of an invoice explaining cost. This is not a place to stay! The Raccoon Lodge 2 Doors down Way better service, and way better motel!
• Alaina (8/5): - The owner was a wonderful lady, very kind and friendly. The building is old but is clean and I do believe they are slowly improving the property. The location is fantastic and you can literally walk across the street and walk into the lake. I’d come again because of the staff and location.
• Ashley (8/5): Great Stay! - It was a a good stay! Convenien right next to the beach which is where we wanted. The folks working there were helpful, pleasant and accomodating. We were updated fo a family room which was nice. I'd stay there again!!

• Christina (4/5): - Rooms are not as advertise... Didnt have our room ready on time. When we did get a room, it was extremly dated. The carpet was green, with and 80s style yellow couch taking up most of the space and it wasnt clean. I booked a room with 2 queen beds received a small room with 1 twin bed. Contacted Expedia when our room was not ready on time. Expedia was no help at all. Will not be booking with Expedia again. The hotel failed to meet their end of the agreement and Expedia refused to cancel the booking.
• Lori (2/5): - The room was so dirty. There was mold in the bathroom and the carpets were disgusting. It smelt like smoke and very musty. I complained and asked for a refund as it was nothing like the online pictures. It was denied but we opted to not stay regardless of not receiving a refund.

• Freedom (2/5): - I checked into my room, there was blood on the bathroom wall. They moved my room 20 minutes after i checked in. My new room had no heat and no hot water. Do not stay here. This was the worst experiment i have ever had.

Was quoted one price and when I went to pay the damage deposit, the lady even wrote down the "agreed on price" on the written receipt.  But when I went to check in a couple days later, a guy was working and he upped the price by $250!! I didn't even get the room that I was originally shown and promised. Went to my room...there were holes in the walls, tuffs of animal hair on the bedsheets, stains on the rug, the AC didn't work, hot water didn't work, room smelled of smoke eventhough they are supposed to be non-smoking rooms, way too many things wrong with this place to list!! I was there for 30 minutes and went to the office and he refused to give my money back! I talked to some other people that were staying there and they got ripped off too!!! THEY LIE THROUGH THEIR TEETH!!

I was told by the owner I could stay for 30 days for $1100. Then I get here. They Booked out my room. Then told me I had to pay another $200 Even though I HAVE IT WRITTEN RECEIPT. They Tried to say it was my Writing. Then instead of a $50 deposit for my cat, They Then daid I had to pay $150 . They said their is a/c Not in the north side. The Garbage is over Filled and Stinks. I Watched them rent out the same room 3 different nights in a row and I didn't see them clean the room. I asked for my Money Back after 3 hours of staying here !! They refused! Found clumps of hair in my bedding. Reaks of Smoke! I talked to other people that live here. And some guests. They all been lied too. It's a common thing to be ripped off here. ANYBODY THAT READS THIS. or Stayed here. Follow up with the Consumer Investigation Unit and phone Alberta Lodging. You may be entitled to compensation. NOTHING WORKS In this Place. DO NOT STAY HERE !! I'll be Following up with the innkeepers act C.I.U O,Hand S, the fire inspector, and the Health Inspector! They are NOT FOLLOWING Any Of these. Oh and I may even Sure them.
• bigs948 (2/5): DISGUSTING DIRTY RUN DOWN LYING ESTABLISHMENT. BETTER TO STAY IN YOUR CAR. - Wish i would of read the reviews.... WARNING. THESE PEOPLE ARE LIERS AND YOU Don't GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. THE PICTURES AND THE PRICES ARE BS. We were told we would get a very spacious and comfortable room to stay in for 1200 for 30 days.. Lies lies lies. We came down to rent the room not to mention a 250 deposit but we were told it was gonna be 1400 now. We were able to afford that but now we wont be able to actually enjoy the 30 days. So go to to pay and what do you know 1525.... Now we are in a really hard spot.. An EXTRA 325 on top of a 250 deposit.. Very unprofessional place. Well we got a two bed hotel room no stove no space.. Room stinks like its been smoked in for years but they promise this is a non smoking room. Rooms so gross i will not be taking my shoes off.. No pets... I seen 2 dogs come outa this place. No room serves what so ever. Was told no one will be coming up to our room for our stay for 30 days... Not even to wash the towels. We have to find a laundry Matt.. Don't EVER come here for a vacation stay far away. BETTER TO JUST SLEEP IN YOUR CAR OR EVEN DRIVE 30 MINS OUTA TOWN FOR A BETTER STAY and this is only day 1 of 30.....
• Chanda Mae (4/5): - The owner was super nice but we checked in 3 hrs late because he needs to clean all the rooms as he is the only one working. Overall he feel bad and he was apologetic so that is enough for us. Hope they upgrade the rooms as it is everything is old and outdated. Our room wad super hot aand no a/c that we can control.
• Deidra (2/5): - Do not stay here. If you are a traveler passing through, spend the extra dollars and go literally anywhere else. From time of check in to a frenzied 1am checkout I was stalked by several of the tenants. This is not the place for you. Please be warned. The telephone also had graffiti on it stating "EAT ME." That should tell you enough.
• 191mirandac (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! Better off sleeping in your car! - Wish I didn’t even have to give it one star! Run as fast as you can from this place. I cannot emphasize this enough DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We recently stayed here for 3 days. Not only is it overpriced for what you get. The beds were disgusting and smelt so bad. The sheets on the bed weren’t even fitted sheets and kept falling off. The bathroom toilet made a sound every time you used it. The shower is so small it’s like a little claustrophobic box. They clearly never clean these rooms. The smell got so bad eventually couldn’t handle staying any longer. Brought it up to the front desk and they were extremely rude about it. We had paid them $500 for a week originally because our original plan was to stay there for a bit while we were waiting to close on our house. We only stayed 3 nights. They refused to give our money back, even at the cost they said a night they would at least owe us $245 minimum back. Their only response to us however was that they didn’t cater to people like us. Like what is that supposed to mean. Someone that wants a clean room for their family. My poor one daughter actually wound up sick because of this place. Not just that but you could hear people screaming at each other all the time. We were not the only ones leaving because of the rooms. There were multiple families leaving at the same time. I don’t understand how this place even stays in business. Should be shut down! I would rather sleep in my car at least I know it’s clean!

• Alyson (2/5): 👎 - They asked us to pay before we stayed there ok no problem but when I got there there was a $100 damage deposit…. When we left they told us we smoked in the room and whereby going to give it bad after 45 of fighting with me we got it back. This place is a drive don’t recommended to anybody. No heat the first night and way to much heat the next night.
