Guest Reviews
- Peter (10/5): - 7 AM breakfast
- Frank (8/5): - Comfortable room, good breakfast, friendly owner and staff.
- Peter (10/5): - The owners go above and beyond to help, listen, and ensure that their business is involved with their customers. They are also involved with their community
- Karen (8/5): - My sister felt the dining room was cluttered.
The grounds had been neglected.
- Ray (6/5): - Great rate, good breakfast, and friendly staff.
- Robert (2/5): - Booked a room through Expedia .When we arrived there was no room for us ... The women I assume was an owner was half drunk bottle and wine glass were visible and she smelled of alcohol the man ath the counter seem to not have a clue .They tried to put us in an unfinished pool house they were renovating to use as a future AIR B&B .Then decided it waant ready .. We were bot able to find accommodations anywhere else near by. Our vation was shortened and we drove home 5and a half hours in the middle of the night ..
- Churchill (4/5): - Poor water, bad internet connection. Very loud and noisy both nights we stayed.
- Yue (8/5): - Nice place and fair price
- Theresa (8/5): - Enjoyed our time there, will stay there again
- Kathy (10/5): - Clean rooms, nice breakfast, friendly staff.
Loved the breakfast club❤️
- Pearl (10/5): - Excellent
- Michael (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay
- Holly (10/5): - Warm greeting upon checkin
- Debra (10/5): - The owners are very personable.
- Paukette (10/5): - Everything was good
- Patricia (8/5): Step back in time - We were quite satisfied with our stay in this updated 50s motel. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. It was located within walking distance of the small downtown area, which had a good coffee shop and Indian restaurant to meet our needs in a town with some remarkable architecture and a very nice park.
- phil (8/5): - Friendly
- Eric (2/5): - Staff tried to scam us into believing they couldnot refund our money.
- Robert (6/5): Not like pictures provided on site 😐 - Room appeared to have a bit of renovations, no coffee in room or blow dryer .
The hotel certainly does not look like pictures on site ?!! The outside very poor condition , weeds overgrown and not tidy . The greeting area and breakfast area was very undesirable, old furniture and dirty . The couple seemed like nice people however .
- Gordon (10/5): Great experience for a little town - This hotel is older but so roomy so friendly,- quiet, clean, a diverse breakfast for being defined as continental.Great experience. The beds have weighted blankets so and so comfortable
- Mary (10/5): - The staff was great.
The premises were clean and it was quiet.
Breakfast was great.
- Terry (6/5): - Noisy bath room fan, leaky shower facet. Minor maintenance not done. Good breakfast, friendly people.
- Pat (10/5): - An old fashioned style motel in the midst of upgrading and renovations. Breakfast pretty good. Great coffee. Staff fighting the forest fire staying there when we stayed. Good for a quick stay.
- Sean (8/5): Comfortable stay with friendly owners - I was impressed by the place. It's obviously in the process of being updated by the new owners - a mixture of run-down features alongside much nicer new additions. A simple room convenient to town with an outdoor section they were actively adding to during my stay.
Check-in was a little rough, but considering that while I was waiting, they checked in a firefighter fighting the Long lake wildfires nearby and a family who lost their home to the fires, I didn't mind waiting.
- Donna (8/5): - Very nice owners. We received great info on where to dine. Property does need upgrading, which is in progress. Good breakfast, great coffee!!
- Bob (6/5): - The staff were reasonably friendly. The room was ok and it was clean. The bed was comfortable. The TV was a bit awkward to use - needs some attention. The place certainly has potential but it will require a lot of work. I wish them all the best as they continue their update/renovations.
- Edith (2/5): - The room we were given was very old and in poor condition. Make sure you get an updated room since the cost is the same.
The front desk experience was equally disappointing. The clerk was clearly not properly trained. Being “new” is not an excuse. We asked for 2 room keys (actual keys, not cards) and were told we could only have one, but we were welcome to go to the hardware store and have a 2nd key cut. Just how secure are the rooms?
Things got worse when room charges were incorrectly processed to an unauthorized credit card. When I confronted the owner, she admitted the clerk’s error and then proceeded to spend 10 minutes giving him a lesson in how Expedia bookings and payments worked, while I was ignored.
When I requested an itemized receipt, the owner told me: “The computer is not turned on yet and I have to have breakfast first.” This was at 10:50 a.m.—with checkout at 11:00 a.m.! She reluctantly agreed to email me a receipt later. When I pressed for a specific time (Noon? 3 p.m.?), she lost her temper, yelled “I don’t have time for this!” and stormed outside, still shouting at me.
As we moved our belongings to our vehicles, she instructed a staff member to stand outside our door, apparently to make sure we didn’t “steal” anything.
To the Owner: As you’ve previously responded to negative reviews claiming you couldn’t find them in your bookings, I'll happily send you a copy of my payment receipt. Conf # 12561
- Cynthia (6/5): - Property requires updating but staff are very friendly
- Jason (6/5): - Dog poop on the property. Aged and needs lots of upgrades.
- Martin (8/5): - A throwback to the motor inn days!! Very freindly and helpful staff willing to have conversation with guests and offer tips on what's available Bridgetown and surrounding areas. Good continental breakfast, as well.
Our room was very clean and offered just about everything needed for a short stay. The amenities in the room are dated, but all of them worked properly and were clean.
The only 'issue' was the satellite TV that was spotty with the internet connection. Individual devices (laptop, phones) had no internet issues.
Bridgetown itself has some charm and decent places to eat and the Cyprus Trail Walk is a good excuse to stroll and while away an hour or two. Bridgetown is also an easy drive to Annapolis Royal, if that is a destination happens to be on your itinerary.
All in all, the Bridgetown Motor Inn is worth a visit.
- Madhu (10/5): - The manager Lory was very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were very tidy and comfy. It is definitely more worthy than the amount paid. Highly recommended!
- Douglas (10/5): - Awesome staff, the best continental breakfast I have ever had
- Terri-Lyn (2/5): - Service was amazing, I did not end up staying as their cleanser aggravated my asthma. They graciously credited my stay So I only lost my Expedia points.
- Naa Ayeley (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Shelly (6/5): - There was no soap or shampoo. There were a number of fruit flies in the room. It seemed like these were for long term rentals. Monthly perhaps as there was a freezer in the room. It was ok but it was not what i expected for a motor inn. The bathmat was moldy and i was uncomfortable taking a shower.the tv was outdated. There were 2 tvs in the room. They had cooking utensils and cutlery in the room but it needed to be washed.
- Tina (10/5): - I truly felt at home here! Wonderful couple-
- Muriel (8/5): - It was a courtyard motel. Clean
- Lori (10/5): - We had a delightful, pet friendly experience. The hosts went out of their way to make certain you had a comfortable stay.
- Rodrigo (10/5): - THE OWNER, JAY, HE IS AN EXCELENT HOST. EXELENT BREACKFAST AND EXCELENT BACKGROUND MUSIC DURING BREACKFAST TIME
- Cordelia (8/5): - It was clean and nice for a place out in the Country. Still enjoyed basic amenities. Nice nature around. Sit out chairs in the garden makes even worth more as you enjoy the fresh air from the trees and bask under the sun. I loved the change of environment.
- Bernadette (6/5): - I have stayed here multiple times. The front desk was not friendly. She checked us in early, however, it seemed like we were putting her out. No smile Not friendly so a bit disappointing.
Our checkout girl was warm, friendly and very kind. I understand when you arrive early you can’t always have a room. It would have been fine had that been the case. I have done this job, I know it can be challenging. I have other options to stay in the Windsor area. I probably will look elsewhere next visit.
- Andrew (10/5): - Staff was great - breakfast was top notch. Would stay here again for sure!
- Alan (4/5): - There was a good continental breakfast. The exterior of the building was very unappealing. We had to clean urine stains from the floor and wall in the very tiny toilet/shower room. The room didn't even have a coffee maker. Wifi was unreliable. And we were greeted by a rat by our car that ran toward the office after we checked out. This all came at a cost of $224 (taxes in) for the night.
- David (4/5): - Outdated, fridge made high pitch sound, shower was dirty or rough looking, walls are thin. Very overpriced for what it is.
- Tiffany (2/5): - There was rats all around vehicles and inside was not clean definitely not worth the price. When confronted k was told the rats aren’t there problem and they would leave my stuff outside and I could stay elsewhere. This was happening day of a wedding I was in, cops had to be involved as she stole my shoes out of my car and then blocked the car in.
- Esther (6/5): - Nothing unique, old unattractive
- David (10/5): - Very friendly staff nice and quiet
- Don (8/5): - Travelled across Canada by motorcycle, Lorrie was a wonderful host, room was clean bed was comfortable
Staff were very helpful ( Sandra )
Thanks for a good stay, would stay again
- David (4/5): - The staff were very friendly and knowledgable, but this was a long weekend
- Vito (6/5): - Awesome breakfast .... rooms and building needs renovation.
- AARON (10/5): - Very good!
- Doris (8/5): - Okay stay at this motel. Staff are excellent. It’s a bit dated but it was still ok. Enjoyed that there were pillow options. Breakfast was well done
- Robert Andrew (2/5): - The room was clean
- Eddie (8/5): - Shower pressure awesome!
- Gillian (10/5): - Staff were amazing and so helpful. Lots of breakfast options too. There is very limited taxi service in the area though so I recommend booking a taxi in advance if you need one for your stay.
- Barry (10/5): - Wonderful quiet place with great people
- Kenneth (8/5): - Motel is exactly as advertised, a budget clean place to stay. The owner is one of the most helpful person that we have come across on our travels. She is running a business and should be commended on that. Anything at all, she was there, with her beautiful dog of course. The dog is spoiled and being a dog lover good for her. Now back to the review.
Motel rooms do show their age but are clean and everything needed for a budget motel stay.
Internet went off a few times (like it seems to do all over Nova Scotia, but owner was there and got things right.
Yes, I would recommend if you are looking for a place to stay knowing not a lot of bells and whistles.
Wishing the owner, sorry I am terrible with names, every success for the future. I didn't get an opportunity to mention God's plan for all and hope she doesn't mind now. All the best to someone wanting her hard work to pay off. We will see you again and that friendly dog pal of yours.
- Brennan (2/5): - I arrived to check in, no one was there. Once I was able to check in there was blood strains on the sheets. After reporting the blood stains on the bed and sheets, I was told I was banned from the Motel and yelled at by their manger.
Beware and do not stay here!
- Francoise (4/5): - It was difficult to get the booking directly on the phone as I could not understand the person who talked to me
I overpaid with Expedia, it would have been cheaper if booked directly so what was the point of using Expedia and why was I charged in American $?
Not good value for money
The hotel needs a lot more renovations
Breakfast was good
The owner had a medical emergency so the door was closed and there was nobody at reception, she did try to contact me by phone but I did not answer as I did not recognize the number
Once she arrived the owner was very nice and helpful once she arrived
- Brandon (4/5): - Didn’t get the room we booked. Only had double beds. Very dated. TV didn’t work. Breakfast was unavailable even though it was listed.
- Karen (10/5): - Very nice clean and friendly. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate you.
- Kim (4/5): - Property needs an update and you can hear through the walls.
- Larry (8/5): - Nice place needs work
- Dave (10/5): - It was very comfortable
- Vance (2/5): - Our check in didn’t go smoothly. The front desk was closed when we arrived at 5pm. There was a note on the front door to call a phone number for assistance. There was no answer at that number. There was another number handwritten on the note so I tried that one and got an answer.
I was told our key was in a mailbox next to the door. The box was unlocked and I was able to find the key amongst the other keys that were also in there unsecured.
We took the key to the room and opened the door and were surprised to find other guests already in the room! I called the phone number from the door of the office and explained what was happening. A staff member came to find us in the parking lot with a key to another room.
We went to the room and found it to be rather small and a bit run down. We turned down the comforter to lay down in the bed and found stains on the inside. It appeared to us that it was blood. We called the staff member and told her the bed was dirty. She came to look and saw the stains. We told her we were going to be leaving. I asked if we could have a refund. She said she would talk to the owner and the owner would give us a call that night.
We weren’t contacted so I called the motel. The owner answered and said she made a mistake with the keys because she was tired. She also said the stains were probably not blood, maybe ketchup and hung up. We didn’t get a refund. We found another spot 56km further away. Leaving was still the right call for us.
- Thomas (4/5): - Staff were unavailable and unable to provide a proper receipt. Room was dated and the tub was very dirty. There was a lot of noise from guests. Overall stay was not great.
- Donald (10/5): - Kind and thoughtful innkeeper. This place is a gem. I visited 6-7 other places during our maritime road trip. This stay was among the most memorable. Given the care and attention, I expect this establishment to continuously improve over time.
- Verified traveler (2/5): poor - First, the owner over charged me. The room had some kind of bugs on the rug and around the bed. The chairs were dirty and dark color so I felt like I couldn't sit for fear of bugs. The owner has a dog and it barked incessantly in the early morning. In the back of the motor inn; it looked like a homeless shelter. There were many people staying in one room and they were all sitting outside . It was very unnerving and it felt like there's was no privacy.
- Ron (8/5): - Untide
- Armando (8/5): - Nice and quite employee. Breakfast very good
- Christopher (4/5): Old and outdated. - This old and outdated motel needs a lot of work. The new owners have a long road ahead.
- Elayne (10/5): - It was great, but could use some updating.
- April (10/5): - Very welcoming staff. The owner Lori was super helpful and absolutely lovely lady.
- Eileen (10/5): - Lori is very kind and welcoming. Check in was quick and easy, as well as check out. Our room was very clean, and the beds equally as comfortable.
- Francesco (8/5): - Es ist ringhörig. Der Frühstücksraum ist familiär.
- Jane (10/5): - Absolutely fantastic staff....very friendly & accommodating!
Laurie is doing such a fine job renovating the inn while keeping the atmosphere very warm & inviting. I would definitely stay there again
- Jennifer (8/5): - Would have preferred the complimentary breakfast to have started earlier than 8am.
- Ron (8/5): - The staff person on duty was exceptional. She was super friendly, gave me change for the laundry and made sure that detergent was available.
- Lise (10/5): - Beds are extremely comfortable
- Jennifer (10/5): - The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was an added bonus. Overall it was a great value for the price. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area.
- Sarah (6/5): - Rooms were clean, nice beds and bedding, and staff were nice. Bathroom was very small and needs updating, bath soap would have been appreciated. Outdoor stair railing to second floor was cast iron, with peeling paint, so not comfortable to hang on to, and concrete stairs were uneven and in need of repair. Peeling paint everywhere on exterior. Front desk really needs updating and was not at all welcoming. Continental breakfast was pretty awful. In general, this place is in need of some upkeep and repair. I know the owners are new, and have begun to update things, but the description does not match what we saw.
- Lawrence and Burna (6/5): - Property under relatively new ownership....they are working at upgrading and are in transition stage. Eager to make clientele welcome and comfortable.
- lori (2/5): - There was no room and they blame you
- Raymond (2/5): - This property was in a state of disrepair and renovation, room had no flooring, just concrete. Bathroom tub had not been cleaned in years. Pillows and cases where dirty and smelly. No towels, very poor , very poor facility. Rated as a minus -1. Do not stay here. Zero value for too much money
- Heather (10/5): - Clean quiet stay comfortable beds
- Daniel (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay at this property. Room recently refreshed. Very comfortable. Continental breakfast delicious. Amazing blueberries served. Very gracious hosts.
- Michelle (8/5): - Lovely staff. Very clean. Just needs updating. The family suite was huge with lots of sleeping options.
- Desiree (10/5): - This is a fantastic Inn. The owner is absolutely delightful, we wish we had more time to spend there. It gets booked up quite quickly, there are 33 units, picnic benches and chairs and a courtyard outside. It’s pet friendly so the rooms were fantastic. The owner watched our puppy for us and we felt so welcome we didn’t want to leave. Everyone there made our trip feel so pleasant and welcoming.
- Norm (10/5): - Staff were friendly and very helpful ie. places to eat etc.
- Rhonda (10/5): - Great place to stay. The staff was friendly and welcoming, keeping the front office open late, due to our late arrival. The bed was super comfy and the room spotless.
- NAOMI (10/5): - Made a last minute trip and needed a pet friendly option, this turned into the unexpected DELIGHT of our trip, the owner was beyond gracious and wined and dined us and she and locals regaled us with good company and local lore!
- Alfred (10/5): - This Motel is an older property. The owners appear to be getting things back in shape. My room was basic, super clean has a small refrigerator and perfectly working AC. No complaints. Thank you
- Nick (2/5): - Hotel itself was ok and what you'd expect out of a Motel. HOWEVER, I would NEVER stay at this location again just based on how the lady working the front desk was EXTREMELY rude to my employee who was staying the night. She told him that she did not have confirmation of the
- Lindsay (8/5): - Staff was very friendly and willing to help. Comfortable rooms in a small town.
Some room fixtures were rather old and could use some updating. Wifi wasn't working well while I was there, but it was apparently a problem throughout the area and there wasn't anything staff could do about it.
Bridgetown is small and has very limited options for eating.
- HOLLY (10/5): - Quiet , Clean room, Friendly , COMFORTABLE BED ,
Large assortment to choose from complimentary breakfast
- Connie (8/5): - The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The only thing missing was a ceiling fan or air conditioning. It was very hot while we were visiting. Laura and her staff were very friendly and accomodating.
- Barbara (2/5): - Disgusting. Room had cement floor. Towel rack broke soon as I touched it. Moldy smell. Arrived 5 pm and breakfast food and dishes were still out on tables so skipped complimentary breakfast for fear of getting sick. The worst room ever. Room 101. Booked 5 months before arrival and room not anything like pictures.
- Emile (4/5): - Hotel is old and in need of maintenance. Room was clean, so that was good. WiFi did not work in the room. Couldn't pick up the booster either. Had to sit on the lawn to get a signal of any type.
- Richard (8/5): - Pleasant stay
- Volodymyr (4/5): - Toilet didnt work. After transfer to another room thermostat did not worked and was tooooooo hot all night.
