Guest Reviews
- Filiz (10/5): - The area and its surroundings are beautiful and our dogs loved running around in the big yard.
The owners John and Peter are very friendly and were always happy to help out with anything.
- Sanjay (9/5): It was a nice relaxing get away - Space and time alone No swimming or pool kind of area
- Alison (10/5): Cosy cottage with lots of room and beautiful views. - Beautiful cottage in a lovely area No complaints
- Ronnene (10/5): The cottage was very homely and clean. It had everything you needed. John and Peter very friendly. We both had a very re - The property was amazing. Absolutely beautiful Nothing at all
- Michelle (7/5): -
- Catherine (2/5): Dirty, Disappointing, Asthma Attack Inducing.. - The location and the views from the property are exceptional. It was not clear to me that there were three separate parts to the cottage, making it necessary to step outside to access the bathroom, and outside to access the second bedroom. Not good in either winter, or if the second bedroom was intended for young children.
Secondly the cottage is extremely dirty, there are layers of solid dust on surfaces, and blankets stored in wardrobes are extremely dusty.
This unfortunately resulted in an asthma attack, an ambulance ride and a days stay in a local Hawkesbury hospital - where it was confirmed that a long dormant allergy to House Dust Mites had been reactivated.
When I notified the owners to provide direct feedback, including the cause of the medical emergency - they were entirely disinterested, stating that as we had been out the day before, and in the cold - it could have been caused by that. This was extremely disappointing.
The kitchen facilities are akin to what you might expect in a shearers shed or similar, quite poor and extremely well used. There are limited pantry items that appear to be supplied grudgingly, given that all salt and pepper, oil, etc are provided with an absolute minimal amount to be functional. It seemed mean, and ungenerous - quite the opposite of hospitable.
- David (9/5): Beautiful - Loved the location
Beautiful property
A good coffee onsite would have been a great addition
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alma (7/5): Great getaway opportunity in beautiful location! - Host very considerate with breakfast choice of bread and juice. Spacious, picturesque & comfortable accommodation.
Grounds are beautiful! very extensive, well-nurtured garden and fields for walking to see magnificent countryside.
Good provision of air-con/heating, wi-fi, TV and video/sound options.
Nearby town (Kurrajong) is attractive, with good restaurants and shops. Well, it's a historic cottage with a DIY renovation so the doors don't fit properly and maintenance is a bit ordinary.
Kitchen supplies are adequate, but not generous. BBQ is serviceable, but aged and rather difficult.
- Nicole (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Catherine (8/5): Very good - A bit out dated. Could have been a bit cleaner. Charged us for fire wood per day but we hardly used. Breakfast supplies, paying for firewood.
- Robyn (9/5): exactly the peace and quiet we were looking for. - peace, quiet, isolation, beauty and beautiful birds. fulfilled our needs
- Maria (9/5): My stay was too short! I was sorry to leave. - Everything. The beauty of the location, the quaintness and cosiness of the cottage, the friendliness of the hosts. Nothing comes to mind,
- Ed (9/5): An incredible place to rest and unwind. - The tranquility and peacefulness of the place, and large open spaces to really relax the mind. Beautiful gardens and surrounds. Plenty of space to walk around within the property and explore. Internet and netflix was good too.
- Di (10/5): Best farmstay I have ever experienced - beautiful place and very comfortable - Such a beautiful part of the world and the cottage was lovely There was nothing I didn't like
- Kokila (8/5): Just an amazing location and a charming property lost in time. Perfect for a romantic gateway. - This cottage setup to retain the heritage and feel of its age of ver 100 years! The garden and grounds are just amazing and meticulously maintained. When we arrived the flowers were in full blossom (even though it was well after spring). The setting is very romantic and nostalgic of long yesteryear. As evident in photos, Bath tub look over the garden. There is amazing views of hills, valley and gracing cattle.
The hist, John, is very hospitable and got in touch with us number of times unprompted to inform us of what to expect, where to go for sightseeing and our preference for breakfast. The place is best for a couple of two couples. We were there with my elderly mother, while we managed, the property is not elderly friendly – too many steps, edges, shower in bath tub etc.
While we stayed in mid December, our arrival night was very cold and there wasn’t a heater in second room. And needed to move mattress to main house to sleep on the floor. John did provide an oil heater on second day and we were able to use both room second day onward. There is no AC in 2nd room and would not be comfortable in summer days. Something to keep in mind if booking for summer months.
General cleanness of inside (as other guests have reported) need lot of work. Carpets, Curtains, upholstery and bed covers all are old/.aged and dusty.
A complete revamp/replacement of carpets, furniture (upholstery), cushions, and bed covers would make this an incredible experience for future guests.
- Michelle (8/5): Absolutely fabulous, very peaceful location. - The location was fabulous, very quiet and relaxing. I didn't dislike anything, the cottage is old with lots with character.
- Sylvesterk (9/5): Superb -
- Seen (10/5): Exceptional - Dog friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A lovely vintage cottage filled with modern amenities in the picturesque country side.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - lovely property, very tranquil. Probably too far away from where we needed to be each day for training
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Such a quiet and tranquil place for a getaway. Peter and John are great hosts 😃
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The position was outstanding surrounded by beautiful rolling hills. The gardens on the property were interesting and peaceful. The cottage itself was really well set up and the history and age of the cottage was a bonus.
- Julie Z. (10/5): Charming cottage in a beautiful location - We have stayed here a number of times and enjoy the peace and quiet, the beautiful surroundings and great location a short drive from Kurrajong Village. Lovely, historic cottage on a just gorgeous property.
