Guest Reviews
- Kerry (10/5): Other then the bed frame.great - Was nice Hit my foot and leg repeatedly off the bed frame
- April Kersch (10/5): Clean and Comfortable - Very clean, updates were nice. Beds were comfortable and clean.
- Sharon (8/5): Clean good location, personable staff. Quiet easy access. - There was no coffee available in my room, and the office was still closed at 6AM when I tried to get some coffee pods for the coffee pot. Better office hours to accommodate travelers leaving early in the AM.
- Todd (7/5): -
- Jersy (8/5): -
- Carla (6/5): - Bed was great! One bed had dirty sheets, the bathroom sink did not empty well
- Terry (10/5): Everything we needed at a reasonable price for a remote location like Libby, MT. - The comfort of the beds was incredible. It's a quaint little motel. I'd stay there again. Pet friendly, too. TV was a bit confusing to use, that's why all.
- Domitrovich (5/5): -
- Kemna (8/5): - We did a roadtrip to Glacier national park and found this motel, which offered us a great night.
Decent prices for the time of and year, and all was good good!

- Bret (9/5): short and sweet… just stopped in Libby to see friends on our way home and it was a good nights sleep despite the huge th - easy to find, quiet, nice able to park right outside our door. beds and pillows were comfortable. air conditioner very loud, toilet didn’t always flush right away, lock to the door was wonky and hard to lock with key, tv came on but wouldn’t work without a code which we weren’t provided at check in. easy fixes.
- Kingsley (7/5): - No restaurant on site. Everything else was OK
- Joe (9/5): - Quiet and clean Very hot weather and ac took forever to cool the room.
- gwen (10/5): Clean, safe place to stay. - The place was very clean, loved the location. The receptionist was very nice.
- Kami (10/5): - Quaint facilty and grounds. Updated room included a kitchenette. Very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. It was much more comfortable and updated than another facility we stayed at the night before in the same town.
- Terri (8/5): - Clean, quiet older property.
- scott (8/5): - It was clean
- Verified traveler (4/5): Beware! Not as good as it was 2 years ago - I have been staying at the Sandman for over 20 years and always loved the friendly service and comfortable rooms but this trip was NOTHING like that. I was unable to watch my tv for the first day and when i finally got someone to answer the front desk at 930 am on friday they looked very annoyed and said they werent open. We were charged almost 60% more for our room w/o a word when i checked in, room full of flies and bed was miserable! When i tried to sleep on Saturday there was a maintace guy slamming metal around mad at what he was fixing. Bottom line, front desk associates seemed annoyed to help people, rooms horrible and over charged! The only bonus was the adorable cat thay greeted everyone. Sad to say after so long i dont know if i will stay there ever again..
- Kara (6/5): - Felt very ripped off. We paid $289 usd for an extremely basic and dated room. We weren’t expecting much but paying over $600 for a 2 night stay felt like a huge overcharge.
- Laurie (6/5): -
- Ronald (10/5): See friends - It was great
- Ann (10/5): - Everyone was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about what was going on in town.
Very friendly we would recommend to anyone.
- Nanaree04 (2/5): Poor customer service - I made a reservation in May via Expedia for mid August. Got a message from them on July 31 that Expedia got the price for the room wrong and they would not be honoring it. The rate Expedia had was $114 a night. The hotel said it should have been $190, but they would give me a rate of $175 for the inconvenience, I tried to contact them, but no answer. I contacted Expedia and they tried to contact them as well but also got no answer. There are limited options since this is a small town and apparently that is a busy weekend, There was only one other hotel that had availability, so Expedia made a reservation there at the original price I was given for the Sandman hotel. The Sandman hotel never did answer the phone, even though the Expedia person tried multiple times over the course of an hour while she was trying other hotels to find availability. So if you make a reservation here beware, they may change their price and leave you stuck.
- Gretchen (2/5): - Our reservation was cancelled and we were referred to another property. We had no choice but to take it and we had to pay more for it. Will be filing a complaint.
- Laurie (1/5): Paid WAY too much for what it was. Would not recommend. - Bed was very uncomfortable with big divets on each side, comforter had a big hole in it, no outlets in the bathroom worked, people allowed to smoke right outside the doors so the smoked drifted in the room.
- George (10/5): Always happy w/the Sandman - Have stayed here many times through the years, the rooms are always clean, all have, or are being updated. You’re right off hwy 2, only a couple minutes from the heart of Libby. A++++
- Brooke (2/5): - The room was clean and had some modern touches. The parking lot was really dark in spots and the motel sign was not lit up. They must have a contract with local companies because it seemed like almost all the rooms and parking spaces were full from those workers.
- Kristy (4/5): - The toilets don’t flush. The staff are never available for needs. Had to go buy our own toilet paper. Super expensive for what you get.
- Guangyan (6/5): - Good price, average condition, a good location for those driving from the west to Glacier national park.
- Tim (10/5): Great Stay - It was perfect , awe had spent three days in a plush Grand Targhee resort in Wyoming and it was terrible . No microwave or AC. We left early and drove through the night and Sandman was exactly what we needed. Quaint , Quiet pleasant . Sipping coffee every morning out front and eating Wild Cherries was perfect
- Jennifer (8/5): -
- Linda (10/5): - Convenient location; helpful staff
Thank you!
- Connie (9/5): -
- David (10/5): - Very nice hotel, staff was eager to please us, very clean, in expected extras,. Rooms were large enough that we could have drinks and a movie with our friends without being too crowded. Would consider a return visit.
- Myles (10/5): - Staff was very friendly.
- Wally (8/5): - Check in was flawless, facility was what you would expect for the price charged. Other people in the property were good neighbours so we have no negative things to report.
- Sara (6/5): - The bed is comfy and check in went smooth. Fourth of July weekend so the hotel was booked and you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors say. Motel is going thru a face lift & my room had disheveled corner of unopened to be installed mirror/iron/ironing board.
- Tommy (6/5): - The overall value was good !
- Cody (8/5): - This was a nice little find on our trip through Montana. It wasn't fancy or 5 star quality, but if you're reading this review then you aren't looking for 5 star quality. But the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had no issues with the room
- Christine (10/5): - Staff
- Qiao (8/5): - like: room size, quite
- Kraig (10/5): - Love to stay here when I pass thru Libby. Laid back and quiet. The room is really nice with a great bed and pillows.
- Timothy (8/5): - Convenient location in a lovely area. Lots of dining options in the area. Clean.
- Robert (8/5): - The property was an older property that has been upgraded and is well kept. Probably could have used a little more counter space for the sink other wise everything else was great!
- Jenifor (8/5): - Pleasant cute place.
- Jody (9/5): Superb -
- Benjamin (10/5): - Quite comfortable for the cost. The beds were amazing yet dont expect anything aside of a quiet and clean room with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and comfortable bedding. The location may turn you away but id stay there again in a heart beat. Bravo!
- Gregory (8/5): - Great view and pleasant atmosphere
- Jasmin (10/5): - Good stay the staff was a little hard to find but otherwise beside the few bugs we saw crawling around which is to be expected from the wilderness it was decent for what it was
- Kevin (4/5): Disappointing - Nice location. Pleasant greeter. It is quite run down. Needs an overhaul. Normally a good rating on Booking.com would be higher quality - not great but decent. This motel needs a complete renovation.
- Belinda (8/5): Cute, cozy hotel, great Libby location. - Updated rooms, new flooring. Great location, friendly staff. Noisy vehicles outside hotel doors interfered with my sleeping. I was there for work and I had to sleep during the day.
- Michelle (8/5): Staff was nice and check in and out was a breeze. The beds were very comfortable. Property and room were all very clean - Easy to locate and I enjoyed parking right in front of my room. The faucet in the tub/shower needed to be fixed as you couldn’t completely turn it off. Also the air conditioner buttons were illegible/missing. I would recommend either replacing or a map/diagram on using it.
- Karen (4/5): Disappointing -
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ray (7/5): Good -
- Alvarado (10/5): Great place 👌 - Quiet, clean and the employees are amazing Wish the water was hotter
- Eleanor (5/5): Passable - The location was what we wanted. We were expecting a budget motel and that's what we got. It was pretty clean and otherwise just basic. There were ashtrays right outside the door of every room, so even though it is not smoking it smelled like smoke. The beds are double sized not queen as we were expecting. Overall it was fine, but I wouldn't book again.
- Tommie J (10/5): - It was fine
- Deidre (8/5): - Clean and comfortable and convenient!!
- Ray (8/5): Very good -
- Jona (6/5): Pleasant -
- Steven (10/5): - Room warmed up quickly (January stay), everything was great.
- M (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jacob (2/5): - They wouldn't let me check in when I confirmed the day before that I would be coming in late. Had to pay for an extra room. They don't know how to communicate.
- M (9/5): Superb -
- Hopkins (8/5): Very good -
- Patricia (9/5): Superb -
- Feryn (9/5): It was very good stay and I would recommend it to my friends and family. - They were very polite, and helpful, and the property was well kept. Nothing, everything seemed just fine.
- Ed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dawn (9/5): Superb -
- Ilia (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (8/5): - Very good value.
- Walter (5/5): Avoid at any cost. - comfortable bed The place is a dump! 220v outlet on floor with no cover, no screens on windows, no blinds on windows. Roku tv is all they offer. and the tvs are not smart. mold in shower. i could go on.
- Timothy (2/5): - This would have been the 3rd time we stayed here, but when we arrived, there was a note taped to the front desk saying they overbooked and they reserved a room for us at the Evergreen Motel. The 1st time staying there, there was no one at the front desk and we had to go around back and talk to owners sitting on their deck. The 2nd time, we requested a ground floor room, but got 2nd floor accommodations. We won't bother making arrangements with this motel in the future.
- Brian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Greg (7/5): The hotel was impeccably clean. - Good coffee from a block away. Backyard was very nice. Bed was comfortable. Front desk personnel was hard to approach.
- Williams (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rolando (10/5): happy stay - good location, check in easy, room clean and bed comfortable
- Randi (6/5): - Clean, older, recently updated motel. Waited almost 5 minutes for someone to come to the desk to check me in. Young person with almost no customer service skills. Seemed like I was inconveniencing him. Other than that, it's a good, basic place to stay.
- JINN-CHERNG (6/5): - Clean and quiet, reasonable price
- King (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wayne (9/5): Superb -
- Diane (7/5): Good -
- kcV225FC (4/5): Could have been 5, sadly only 2. - Could have been a 5 with overall spacious room but poor service and cleaning dropped it down. Desk person handed me a key, had to ask the room number (on back of Key). Had to go back for wifi pass. No information given w/o asking. Needed to blue light room to clean pet urine. Wife fell in tub.
- Mary (4/5): Disappointing - Comfy beds and no bugs in the room. Felt like a bait and switch as all photos online showed remodeled rooms inside with log cabin furniture. Ours had none of that ambiance. BBQ was an added bonus but there were so many wasps we could not enjoy the picnic area and had to eat in our room.
- Alisha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (10/5): Fabous management at this lovely roadside hotel. - The manager is absolutely fantastic! This is the best run roadside hotel I've ever been to. Everything was perfect.
- Donald (10/5): would recommend this as a place to stay. - Our room the first night the air conditioner wasn't working well so it was a little warm. We mentioned it to the owner, and she had our room changed and it was heaven to have cool air. The TV in this room even worked. the Wi-Fi is spotty and usually works better after 5 pm. the room was spacious.
Was easy access to Two Medicine and Glacier West Entrance, Many Glaciers and Browning Mt.
The diner Medicine Grill had an excellent breakfast and reasonable. The Stageline Restaurant has really good pizza and Indian tacos. Having tea along with coffee available.
- Peggy (6/5): Pleasant -
- Donald (8/5): Very good - Cozy mountain motel. Very clean.
- Thomas (7/5): We were just there for the night - clean, quiet, wifi, Roku TV, and close to everything. - No breakfast. A simple place. Clean, wifi worked just fine, parking was adequate. The hotel is close to everything - as are most things in Libby. They have info in the room on using delivery services for the Libby area, a nice bonus. The sink faucet in the room (not the bathroom - that one is fine), it is really close the lip of the sink.... If you are trying to wash your hands or do something other than fill a glass etc., water goes everywhere.
Commode is very small and short..... I don't think I've seen one that small since I was in Southeast Asia. Not a bad thing, but I'm a big guy - over 6ft - so it was a long way down to the seat. :-)
- Barr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nicely remodeled older motel. Have stayed before and will again.
- Whipple (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheri (8/5): Very good -
- Jocelyn (6/5): Pleasant - The location was easy to find. Staff were exceptionally helpful. Towels are luxurious. Quiet facility. The room had been changed from 2 queen beds to a king size with a rollout without me being contacted. After a long day of driving, it was a most inconvenient change. There was also not a price reduction.
The coffee packs were very thin. They didn't even have a coffee flavour after using 2 packs.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Vivian (8/5): - Very nice room, fantastic bed, friendly lady at the desk.
