Guest Reviews
- Barbara (10/5): - Perfect weekend recharge, beautiful, well kept property in a perfect nature spot. Thank you!
- Li (10/5): - It's very warm, like a family, not a hotel/resort
- Brenda (10/5): - The property was beautiful, quiet and well maintained.
- Verified traveler (10/5): NICE LOCATION - amazing
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location on the lake. Property was clean and the staff was friendly. Easy check-in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was our second time staying at all-star resort. The rooms were be clean, the location is the best to stay in algonquin. The owners were very friendly and we will be back. Consider booking through their website also as there are perks!
- Oleksandr (10/5): - It’s a very clean and comfortable room. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lake view was out of this world. Specially in the morning 🌄
- Kasy (10/5): - Great view, great service, provided us an excellent vacation. Worth to go every year.
- Kinza (8/5): - All Star Resort offers a pleasant stay for those looking to get away and enjoy the beauty of Algonquin. The views from the patio were amazing, running water and full bathrooms in the suite. The rooms could use a little upgrading and sprucing up - almost felt like a portal back in time lol. The family living on site is friendly and accommodating. Would like to return but will be sure to book a cottage instead of a motel suite as there it’s more private with the bbq right on the deck, private parking and a boat launch.
- Jeff (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay, being right next to the Madawaska River and within 30 minutes of Algonquin Park was nice. The room was very clean and so were the bathrooms. I would definitely visit again.
- Victoria (8/5): Great place to stay close to Algonquin park. - This is the second year in a row we stayed at All star resort. It’s off the beaten path but it is very convenient to staying close to the park on the cheap. The room is clean and offers a fridge and microwave and satellite tv. My only suggestion is the rooms could use a bit of a sprucing up. But clean and quiet.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The shower is not good enough
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful people, beautiful and quiet place to sit back and relax. Cottage comes fully equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Just bring your clothing and food. We are ATVers and All Star is completely ATV friendly and you can hit the trails right from the cottage. We loved it so much we booked and extra night. We will definitely be back!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The lady that checked us in was so nice !
We showed up pretty late so couldn’t enjoy the resort day of, but plan to do a kayak rental today . Would come back again !
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It’s like having your own private cottage at the lake. Wonderful place to stay and rest. We rented a canoe from the hotel for an evening ride.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Room was big and had all amenities I needed for one night stay. Fridge was great! Really cold and my ice packs stayed frozen.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Super friendly staff! Beautiful location right off the river! Firepits were a bonas! Cottages themselves were average, The bed and couches were not comfortable but adequate for a few nights. The 35$ cleaning fee was unexpected and I felt the need to handwash everything before I used it since I was left to assume whoever rented the cottage last was who cleaned it rather than a professional cleaners.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - There was no screen on the patio door so I was unable to get any fresh air in the room and there was no hot water in the bathroom
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very pleasant room with verandah overlooking small lake.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved it on the water and beautiful. Had all the necessity's
- Andrew/Laura (6/5): - We stayed in a room that seemed like it was sandwiched between their home and office. It was fairly noisy. The room basically was a converted garage/carport and not anything we had been expecting. The bed was basically a futon If we had not been so tired and the fact the room was clean we would not have stayed.
- Victoria (8/5): Great affordable stay close to Algonquin Park - The man that checked us in was pleasant and it was very quiet where we stayed. Very close to Algonquin Park and very decent priced. Had a fridge and a microwave and coffee maker. View outside was beautiful too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice property on a quiet river. The owners seem nice. The cabin was clean and comfortable enough. The deck was spacious and right on the river. However the wifi was didn't often work and there was no cable or satellite tv service. Also (for the cost per night) a dishwasher would be an appreciated amenity.
- gordonmorris (8/5): - very nice view of the river and owners were very nice
- Excelia (10/5): - Overlooking beautiful Madawaska river. Room was clean, washroom necessities (towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, dryer) was provided. Also Every appliance works well, mini fridge, microwave, TV, air conditioners. It was a comfort in the middle of beautiful nature.
We made a mistake about check out time and we were really late but the owner was understanding and did not charge us for it. We really appreciated that and definitely will come back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Specious, clean cottage, equipped kitchen
- Evi (10/5): - It was a nice stay. The room was in front of some water, so we had a nice view and the host answered our questions. Like where we could have a good diner. The room was clean and had a little fridge. Which was nice.
- Sitwat (10/5): - Very nice and serene place and the owners were very courteous .We would love to go there again in next summers.
- Lucinda (8/5): Bring your ATV ! - We were very pleasantly surprised by the All Star Resort. Due to the very economical rates we were not expecting much but we were in for a treat! The resort is rustic but beautiful and the river is gorgeous. The swimming is good with a nice sandy bottom. We rented a paddle boat and took a leisurely evening paddle up the river. So relaxing! The owners were very friendly and were available for any requests. Next time we will bring our ATV as there are many great trails that are accessible right at the resort. We will definitely return to the All Star Resort.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very basic in need of modernising - Basic accommodation but clean and right on lake side. Musty damp smell and very dark in room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice cabin by the river. Calm and quiet in a relaxing atmosphere
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was clean but not your typical motel style room. Nice that location was easy to find as we arrived late and located on the river. Unfortunately did not have time to use any of the facilities as we were travelling through the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hosts in an excellent location. Vintage top loader laundry! Top !
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place to stay - We stayed in a motel room that had a nice little deck with a view of the lake. It was cozy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The owners are very nice. We were only there for one night so we didn't have a chance to explore the lake but we are hoping to return again for a longer stay. There is not much in Madawaska for food but we knew that before we came. Barry's Bay is not too far so we made a trip in for dinner at the Ash Grove Inn, it was really good. Whitney is even closer and has a few good places to eat as well. Glad we found a nice place to stay that is reasonably priced and close to Algonquin Park.
- Ralph (8/5): Good for a stay in a village - Too far from shopping walk way was not paved and full of puddles.
- Alex (10/5): - It is excellent location. River view rooms. Very tranquill.
The place is old, but very well upkeep. Clean and comfortable.
- bronwyn (10/5): Pleasant surprise - We booked in late after a long day in Algonquin. The people went out of their way to make us comfortable. The room was very clean and good value. In the morning we were blown away by the beautiful river frontage
- Heather (8/5): Stayed at your resort while we attended a wedding - Very comfortable place to stay. Wish we had our kayaks there to use but were staying for a wedding and were tied up with wedding activities.
- Terry & Kathi (8/5): Nice large rooms next to river - off the main highway on gravel road. also an rv park
- Kimjo (8/5): Fantastic setting - We stopped two nights as the perfect base for exploring Algonquin Park. The motel room was a little dated, but was clean with a large and comfy bed - the price was extremely reasonable. The real highlight is opening you patio doors onto the river Madawasca - we enjoyed swimming in the calm and beautiful river even more than Algonquin park!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pros - Great Place, nice clean cabins, nice new/clean boats
Cons - Boat motor was only 6hp should be minimum 9hp.
- Scott (8/5): Good Value for the money - We booked this cabin at the last minute due to a death in the family. Cabin was on a river. boats, canoes, kayaks etc were available for a reasonable price. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. New owners were very nice. I would stay here again. Good Value!
- Jason (8/5): Enjoyed our stay - Nice place to stay, but bring your own food. It's 21kms away from anything more than a small store.
- Robin (10/5): Perfect location - New owners are working to bring the resort back to what it once was. Some new furniture, the cabins are cleaner than they had been in a few years and other improvements are noticeable. Nice to see it being taken care of again because it is such a great location with everything you could want in a relaxing cabin experience.
We will be back next year!
- margie (8/5): Nice waterfront cottage close to Algonquin Park. - The cottage was roomy and well kept with a large deck overlooking the water. Water was swimmable, and there was a dock and fire pit for our personal use. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Internet access was intermittent, and the satellite TV reception minimal. however, we didn't go there to watch Tv. I would definitely get.
- De Blok family (8/5): cosy cabin, not luxury but everything you need! - We went to the Algonquin Park, which is 25 km away. Saw dear, fox and moose.
We hiked en made a bycycletour.
Every cabin on All Star Park has his own BBQ and the view is beautiful.
John, the new owner of All Star Park told a lot about the surroundings and he was very helpfull.
- Sarah and Luke (8/5): Beautiful location, and lovely hosts - All star resort is in a beautiful location with the facilities to go canoeing down the madawaska river. There is also the ability to swim in the river and go for walks around the area. The motel room we stayed in was pleasant and overall clean, we had a small problem with the fridge but the owners were quick to help us with it. Overall all star is a lovely place to stay helped by the fact that the hosts were so helpful and friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Beautiful location and comfortable cottages - Great stay! It's a great spot to see Algonquin. The river is wonderful for swimming and canoeing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice area, great view. Lovely people!
- The room was comfortable. Enjoyed a nice walk and a swim in the river. TV was a bit small but not a deal breaker. My son said he loved the room better than a big chain hotel because it had character and a great view.
