Guest Reviews
- Mihai (8/5): - Nice location near river and the option of renting kayaks at no extra cost. Very clean.
- Gary (10/5): - Great stay and very comfortable.. Our hosts were fantastic!!
- Jon (10/5): - The parking felt safe. The room was and fully stocked. Check in was quick and easy.
- Phil (6/5): - This place is totally ok.
Rooms are basic and old. No soundproofing so prepare to hear a neighbours tv etc.
Not much the owner could do except a proper refurb to change. He kept the place clean and was v friendly and helpful. Thank you to him.
We had room 1 which was next to the office and that added noise of people checking in.
When it says breakfast. Expect a wrapped plastic muffin and cheap filter coffee. Nothing fresh but a sweetened yogurt.
Would i restay? No. It wasnt for me. But if you are just looking for a cheap overnight stop its is as said. Totally ok.
- Kaylee E. (4/5): - This is a very very old building. The man who checked us in was very kind and lovely. The inn just needs some upgrades. My son has a mold allergy, and the room smelled horribly of mildew. It’s a cute place and decently priced for the area, but upgrades are needed.
- Richard (8/5): - Really enjoyed the view. Room temp was comfortable. Room amenities as advertised. Great stay for the price. We're generally not in the area but if we were we would definitely stay there again.
- John (10/5): - The room was clean the staff is friendly and welcoming. This is one of our favorite places to stay when we go to the Cape.
- Steve (8/5): - Room was clean but could use a little updating ( porch door). All in all a great value for the money. Proprietor was very accommodating with Kayak usage for the salt marsh accessible right from the back of the property! Highly recommend.
- Cara (8/5): The view! - Loved the vintage feel of the rooms. Needs a little updating but clean and safe. Love the view!! Breakfast was little Debbie’s and coffee. But coffee shop down the road had an amazing breakfast burrito and great coffee.
- Jamie (10/5): - Very nice place
- Jason (10/5): - Very quant inn with a beautiful view from balcony.
- Chris (10/5): - The property is beautiful, with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the view of the marsh. The check it was smooth and very pleasant. The room was small but clean, sweet and thoughtfully furnished. My only negative comment is that the bathroom floor badly needs replacing.
- Anthony (8/5): - Property and room were very cute. Rate was great. King size bed was the most uncomfortable bed my wife and I have ever slept in.
- Angela (8/5): - Separate patio and narah in backyard for privacy
- William (8/5): Dated charm - Nice place, ownership pleasant and helpful. Facility is dated and has a well worn air about it.
- John (10/5): - Our favorite place to stay in Sandwich.
- Joseph (10/5): - Had a lovely, easy, quiet stay at the Spring Garden, and will stay there again when I am back in the area. Like most motels on the Cape this is an old property, but it's well maintained, clean, and comfortable, and the views from the room of the estuary behind the building are magnificent.
- Jasna (10/5): - Cute Inn with beautiful views:-)
- Paul (10/5): - Excellent Inn and great Staff!
- Debra (6/5): - Lovely balcony and good location. Musty smell in room. Old mattress was noisy getting in and out of bed. Needs updating.
- lorraine (8/5): - I loved the garden view. It was the nicest thing about the motel. It needs to be updated with everything. I’m sure it would be really expensive. The owner was very nice and helpful. The pathways were a problem especially if you have some trouble walking. I really loved the view. It was unique.
- Sarah (10/5): - Cute and quiet little place. Check in was quick and easy, the man checking us in was super friendly and helpful with finding dining options. The room looked and smelled clean. Is would stay again.
- WREN (6/5): - Property owners were very nice. Okay for the price we payed. Beautiful setting and quiet. Rooms are very dated.
- Karen (10/5): Quaint motel - Amazing customer service, super nice innkeeoer. Very accommodating.
Super clean and cozy place.
I will be back to stay again.
- Peter (10/5): Price and cleanliness A-OK - Reservation and check in was easy. Room was very clean but could use updating (paint, lighting, etc). The price was right for a one night stay prior to our week long rental in Orleans.
- Scott (10/5): - It was a nice stay and Steve was great.
- Amanda (10/5): - Rooms were bigger than they look in the pictures, and we were able to open the adjoing door between our adjacent ground floor rooms.
- Robert (8/5): - Nice little cozy stay off the beaten path! Host was super nice.
- Richard (8/5): Late arrival - I arrive late in the evening, driving in from Bradley International. The inn contacted me while I was on the road to ask when they could expect me. Since it was going to be after 9 p.m., when the office closes, they gave me instructions on how to find my room and left the door open for me. Very cute and cozy room. Woke up in the morning to discover the beautiful setting. Unfortunately they were booked solid for the next few days, or I would have spent a second night there.
- Kaisa (10/5): - Beautiful scenery on property.
- Katherine (10/5): - It is super beautiful and the proprietors are warm and kind. It is a little old fashioned, which I liked very much.
- Gagan (8/5): Overall good stay - Overall good stay and friendly staff
- Mary (10/5): - The host and hostess were really nice, helpful and took time to see that we were well cared for. The hostess that took care of the property did an outstanding job.
- Allison (10/5): - We fell in LOVE with this property!! Close to beaches, restaurants and shopping in the sweet sleepy town of SANDWHICH.
- Jenna (10/5): - Old cape cod feeling. So quaint.
- Anastasia (10/5): - Will be staying again
- Julia L (10/5): Lovely inn overlooking the salt marsh - This was a peaceful, quiet, lovely place to stay.

- Diana (10/5): - It was really nice. The staff and property were great.
- William (10/5): - This Inn is the perfect spot for convenience to mid cape rentals. The beds are very comfy it’s clean and the management does an excellent job with all aspects. Highly recommended
- Sharon (8/5): Would Stay Here Again - We really enjoyed our stay . The view out of our room was beautiful. Location was great. They served muffins, fruit , coffee, and tea each morning. Our room was very clean. Our room was small but very clean. The bathroom needed a some renovation.
- Kimberly (8/5): A nice quiet spot. - The motel was small and dated but clean and comfortable enough. The balcony off the room was nice and the view was pretty but the balcony itself and the furniture wa s in desperate need of refinishing. Beds were firm but ok. The breakfast was packaged pastries, yogurt and bananas. Would have liked a few more choices. The area is quiet but not far from restaurants and other towns with things to do. We stayed 2 nights and it was great for our needs.
- Patricia (10/5): - Steve and Helen were lovely and very helpful! Property is aged but well cared for. The location is great.
- Ann (10/5): - Great location and pretty view of the marsh.
- Michele (10/5): Perfectly Adequate - This is a great place to spend a few nights to extend your Cape trip and avoid bridge traffic. Nothing fancy, but clean and on a beautiful property with lovely outdoor seating. The proprietor is very nice as is the housekeeping staff.
- Patricia (8/5): - Loved the back overlooking the wet area- had a pizza and watched the sunset in very comfortable Adirondack chairs
- Elizabeth (10/5): - I stay here every year. It is the traditional cape-style cottage feel and the price is very teasonable
- Brian (10/5): - We had a great stay. Loved spending time on the balcony watching birds in the marsh. The gardens were lovely and there was plenty of outdoor seating.
- Sharon (10/5): - Perfectly located, beautiful, spacious, with a really sweet staff!
- Ernest (8/5): - The location was on the edge of a gorgeous salt water marsh full of wildlife. The downside was a very old lumpy mattress and they allowed people to smoke right outside their room- the whole backyard stunk. The entire property should be non smoking.
- Shay (10/5): - Very friendly staff and beautiful views. Quiet area and very relaxing. Would stay here again.
- Suzanne (10/5): - The manager was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious. Beautiful view.
- Dianne (8/5): - We have been here for 3 years in a row and have recommended to others. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are clean. Nice view of the marsh. Will be back next year.
- Scott P (8/5): - Comfortable, quiet, affordable, and great setting.
- Kymm (10/5): - Property is gorgeous serene and quiet
- Elisabeth (8/5): - Close to
- Matthew (10/5): - Spring Garden Inn is great! The owners and staff are great! Simple in some ways and easy to stay there. They’re right on the canal and the kayaking from there is a lot of fun.
The rooms are not fancy, but they are clean and cozy. We love going there with our kids and have been there many times when we go to the Cape.
- Allen (4/5): - Price was very good, but bathroom door barely opened. Very little room in bedroom and bathroom. Closet was large. Quite hard to access room, with uneven stairs and entrances. Motel was basically 1-star.
- John (10/5): - Old time Cape Cod!
- Jayne (10/5): - Very friendly owners. Comfortable beds, clean and quaint. Nice deck and view of the gardens and marsh area. We would definitely choose this location on a future visit.
- Niall (10/5): -
Nice property with excellent garden for relaxing after a day at the beach. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- Chelsea (6/5): - Nice view. Quiet rooms. Just not the greatest Air Conditioner and a lot of bugs in the room.
- Andrew (10/5): - Quiet and clean room with ample space. Very nice proprietor and staff. Beautiful grounds overlooking the marsh. Coffee and bites to eat for bkfst. Free kayaks to use on the tributary and marsh. Loved it!
- Laura (10/5): - Had a pleasant stay at the Spring Garden Inn! Decent location to be based if you want to explore many different areas of the Cape.
It was located in a peaceful area, very tranquil throughout the evening, we slept very well. The rooms are a little dated but the property is very clean, which is all that matters!
Excellent value. I can see why the Inn had no vacancy the entire time of our stay. Popular little place for a reason :)
Thanks again
- Nora (10/5): - Great view. Very clean. Friendly staff. We will be back.
- Marianne (10/5): Clean Inn with beautiful views - Very clean Inn with beautiful views. My only suggestion is to upgrade the king size mattress in our room.
- Janice (10/5): - Wonderful place to stay. Well run and very clean. Great view out back.
- Joseph (10/5): - Quiet and relaxing with great views and easy access to popular activities.

Staff was accommodating coffee was really good in the morning.
- Carol (6/5): - Property overlooked a water feature.
Was a cute property in need of TLC.
- Misty (10/5): - The area makes up for the age of the facility. It is an older building, which is showing its age. That being said...it was clean and comfortable. The view and quiet was amazing. Very limited breakfast, but enough to hold you over for a bit. Its a decent place to stay.
- David (10/5): - This place was great too to bottom. Do yourself a favor and stay here!
- Jim (10/5): - Very nice hotel and nice balcony. Convenient location.
- Robert (8/5): - Vintage style Cape Cod motel. Good size room with balcony on upper level. Clean, quiet, simple. Very basic continental breakfast. Cool back yard overlooking marshy land with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables. Convenient location. Well priced for the Cape.
- Kim (10/5): - This property is well maintain, surrounded by a lovely landscape, it was very clean and the owner is friendly.
- christopher (10/5): - Quiet and beautiful
- Charlene and Don (10/5): - From the time at check in, the proprietor was friendly and welcoming. The room was good size and clean. In morning, they have coffee in the office with bananas, yogurt, pastry and muffins complimentary. Beautiful grounds with flowers and a nice view
- Nicholas (10/5): - The view!!
- Cristine (8/5): - Nice garden view.
- rhonda (8/5): - Beautiful location and comfortable accommodations
- Deborah (10/5): - We liked the view of the marsh behind the property.
- Robin (8/5): - Very quaint. Sweet place with relaxing views. Older building with a tinge of age smell. Pleasant and clean location.
- David (10/5): - Very nice room and comfy bed! Place is out in the middle of nowhere but would stay again. The only negative - other than no restaurants near by would be to offer coffee before 8am...we get up at 6am.
- Brendan (10/5): - Great view at the right price.
- Ann (10/5): - Quaint, clean, quiet, comfortable, affordable . What more could you ask for? We will be back!
- Robert (10/5): - Awesome, got there after office hours and they left our room open and had great coffee and breakfast stuff for us.
- Kerry (10/5): - Room was very clean upon arrival. Motel feels close to nature because of the scenic location even though you’re on a main road. Very close to beach & many restaurants.
- MICHELLE (10/5): - Owners are very accommodating. We've stayed before and the upgrades of lawn furniture and kyaks were a good choice.
Bird lovers take notice! Quiet and transformative from the hustle of downtown.
- Jennifer (10/5): - A very unique room for the night. We had a little wine right outsude our door on our own patio surrounded with hosta and beautiful flowers.
- Diane (10/5): - A red eye flight from Denver to Boston makes for a long day, especially if one cannot check into their lodgings until 3:00 or even 4:00. Thankfully, the managers/ owners of Spring Garden Inn Motel went above and beyond the call of duty to check is into our simple but charming room early.
Customer service can be lacking these days, but not here. A+ service.
The room itself is definitely vintage. Don't expect a modern vibe; on the contrary. Wood paneling accents the walls, giving the small room a warm and inviting feel. The bathroom is small, too, but adequate. The shower is hot, and water pressure, good. The age of the place means odd creaks and noise but that's to be expected. We could hear footsteps above us but it wasn't too bad.
Our king bed was comfy. I often bring my own pillow when I travel and am glad I did. Theirs are thin but plentiful. The views of the marshlands are lovely and peaceful. We bought some steamed lobsters and ate them at a picnic table by our room. What a memorable treat it was!
We would definitely stay at the Spring Garden Inn Motel again! All around wonderful stay, and affordable, too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The check-in / check-out took 1 minute each.
My room was spacious, sunny, super clean with comfortable bedding, and the balcony view was priceless. Enjoyed every minute of my stay.
Btw, as a light sleeper I was a little concerned about the property being too close to Rte 6a at first, but it turned out to be no problem whatsoever. There was very little traffic at night and early morning.
Highly recommend this hotel. Would love to stay here again.
- Rev. Karen (10/5): - It is a beautiful property, and I enjoyed hearing birdsong each morning while enjoying the coffee and pastries and yoghurt and fruit provided. It is a good place to stay if you want a place to peacefully meditate or to use as a launching point for activities in the area. The owners are friendly and available but not intrusive. The location is easy to get to from the bridges so after a long drive to get to the Cape, it is also a good resting place for a first night if going out further. A refrigerator and freezer is provided in each room, and the view from each room is picturesque. I have stayed here for years. Grateful for such a haven of gracious hospitality in a noisy and often rude world. Has a bed and breakfast feel for a great price. Non smoking, great for Nature lovers.
- Ana (10/5): - We had a great, comfortable stay at the property.
- Samuel (10/5): - Wonderful location and great staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Alexis (10/5): - Loved the view!
- Deborah (10/5): Our Get-Away - Friendly owners and staff who are always willing to please guests. Lovely location and rooms have the " Cape Cod" decor/appeal . Totally enjoy the outdoors with pretty gardens and light effects for enhancement. Quaint and comfy.
- Karen (10/5): - Everything you need on one of the most scenic roads on the Cape. Beautiful garden. Friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyed watching the geese on the marsh.
- Dianne (10/5): Authentic Cape Cod - Beautiful view. Friendly accommodating host. I will return!
