Sandra (6/5): Hilltop Review - The room was very clean. But the wifi didnt work and the tv didnt work. I asked to have a room with queen beds and a balcony and i received double beds and no balcony. I was told they were all booked a d couldn't change The vacancy sign was lit up. They did include a great breakfast.

Ray (6/5): - A tad disappointed in that the water for our morning showers was at best ‘luke warm’. It’s not like the motel had a full slate or anything and we were in the shower early. Reported this to staff and was more or less discounted over it. Strike one…. Breakfast included - worse breakfast I ever had. Both order eggs Benny, waitress asked how we wanted our eggs. Told her poached, soft (of course). Our order came out of the kitchen with the eggs fried hard, and in fact mine were very brown on one side and on the verge of being burnt. The “hash whites” were not even cooked through and were white as snow. When shown to the waitress was told they can only cook the eggs one way. (????). Strike two. Upon leaving told the lady at the front desk of our experience and appeared to take a couple of notes, but no mention of ‘sorry for your trouble’ or any attempt to ‘make it right’. Strike three. In summation; a clean comfortable room with a nice view of the falls, but given the lack of hot water & the meal situation as well as not feeling like a valued customer (at all), I feel giving this establishment 3 stars is generous.

Susan (8/5): - The staff of both the motel and restaurant that I encountered were super friendly and helpful. Being on the side closest to the road gets quite noisy especially in the morning when traffic picks up. Lots of big trucks rolling through.

John S (8/5): Grand Falls overnight - Family research visit to Grand Falls. Convenient to stay in town, nice view of the river and falls. Room was less than expected for the price - dated decor, stained/dirty carpet. Frequent intrusive traffic noise from aggressively driven passing vehicles with open exhaust. Good food and service in the restaurant but included breakfast had apparently been discontinued. Could be a retro "gem" if room decor was renewed but ambiance maintained (based only on experience with our room - not sure if others may be different).

Alice (8/5): - Our suite was on the second floor of the motel building, facing the Saint John river and falls. It had a small balcony that was perfect for sitting with a coffee and enjoying the view and the sound of the falls. The room and the bathroom were very spacious but somewhat dated. They were very clean. The room included a toaster, air conditioner, TV, extra blankets and pillows, a patio door to the balcony, shower gel and shampoos, two queen beds, two comfortable tube chairs, a bistro table and two chairs, and a desk. The view of the river and falls was wonderful as this motel is build right beside the Saint John River at the top of the falls. The screen door to the balcony requires some repairs as it was difficult to open and close (flimsy and screen loose). Staff were welcoming and made it easy to register. Access to the 2nd floor is by stairs on the outside of the building. Overall the Hilltop Motel is a great place to stay. It just requires a little updating to be excellent. We did not have the opportunity to dine at the restaurant.

We had expected a complimentary breakfast but because we had booked before the new owners took over, we were not offered the complimentary breakfast. The dinner we ordered from the restaurant was good but no ketchup included for the fries.

The keurig coffee station is appreciated (& the shelf slides out). They have environmentally friendly soap & shampoo dispensers. Not every toom has a view of the falls but its a short walk to the onsite viewing railing. The restaurant is terrific, beautiful view of the falls and good food. Be sure to eat here if you stay.

Lillian (4/5): - Very impressed with hotel and restaurant staff! Shout out to front desk staff on arrival May 19, 2025. Dola and Rachel from the restaurant were outstanding! Professional, friendly, and extremely helpful! Same can be said for Michelle who served me breakfast on May 20. NOT IMPRESSED with accommodations. Firstly the smell of room can only be described as Funky - an odd mechanical smell that no airing out could rectify! That room needs air fresheners for sure. The size of size of room is extremely small, in fact so small it isn’t possible to sit on toilet face forward or correctly had to seat myself sideways. And to top it off wifi was not working which also resulted in NO TV! Very disappointed is all I can say and definitely not worth the money I spent on that room. Coincidentally it was the last room on a 3 week road trip that took me to many nights spent in motels. This room was by far the worst room I encountered during my journey to the maritimes! If only the room could have been half as pleasant as the staff at Hilltop Motel and Restaurant!

Alexander (6/5): - It's cheap and conveniently close to the highway and quick food options, fine when you just need a place to crash en route. They were having some problems with their system for assigning rooms. First one, the key didn't work. Second one hadn't been cleaned. However, the girl working the desk sorted it out pretty quickly. The rooms are what you'd expect from a low-end motel. Dingy and very out-of-date, but adequately cleaned. The bathroom door was wonky and didn't close properly without someone helping from the outside. The beds were fine though.
