Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (10/5): - VERY VERY CLEAN & WELL MAINTAINED!!! Beautiful place, comfortable, and "home away from home" kind of atmosphere. Very easy to check-in. Extremely clean facilities, and nice and quiet area.
Extremely comfortable beds, hypoallergenic and clean sheets, and fresh towels and toiletries provided.
Nice Victorian style, and met Laura, the owner briefly for a chat. She was very nice, and runs an excellent bed & breakfast.
Will definitely stay here again in future. Breakfast and coffee provided was excellent! Really enjoyed my stay, and slept better than I normally do at hotels.
House was warm and comfortable, despite the cold conditions outside.
Definitely recommend staying here.
- Laurie (6/5): lovely country home - needs some tweaks/fixes - house is a lovely old home with lots of charm, Laura was very nice and welcoming, check in easy, coming and going easy. However I couldn't use the shower - it was a really small stall shower and could easily and quickly be renovated into a better one. No place to put things in the room so I put all my stuff on one bed and slept in the other. The bed I picked the first night had a sink hole in it which hurt my back - so I switched to the other bed the next night and that was really good. I would make it a single room - remove the bad bed by the window that also blocks the closet and put in a little table and chair so people have somewhere to sit. Also since the bathroom is shared (not an issue - that was fine) but put a small mirror in the bedrooms would be nice and helpful. The breakfast was good. Love the character in the home. located close to Kingston so it was easy for me to get to where I needed to go. Would recommend to people who don't have shower claustrophobia or weight issues.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The website suggested each room had a private shower. This was not the case.
We never saw our host, and I was a little dissapointed that the breakfast was a self serve continental. Cereal yogurt and toast.
It is was very clean, the beds were comfy, and the location was charming and convenient.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I absolutely LOVED everything about Laura's B & B, the warm vibe of the beautiful home, the decor, the cleanliness, how organized it is. And the foam bed, my gosh, so comfortable. Laura is so welcoming and kind. The breakfast even includes homemade jams and it was lovely.
I have been to other B & B but this is by far, the BEST one so far. Highly recommended for a nice little getaway.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent Host - Host is really approachable and absolutely friendly. It’s in a very quiet neighborhood. Room is neat and tidy. No problem recommending it for short stays.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pro:. Even though I arrived late my room was reserved. I liked that the house was clean and had bed sheets properly done. The area is quite so no disturbance from cars or people. Laura was so kind and sweet and so was Keri when she booked my room.
Cons:. No staff on after hours. No TV. Breakfast was limited to toast and cereal but it was still enough.
Overall I enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it as a layover type of sleep.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The bed was comfy
Lovely old Victorian house, warm and clean.
Breakfast was good, conveniently layed out and yummy jams.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - .
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wry good to be away from the Queen’s area on Homecoming weekend.
- Lorraine (8/5): - Lovely quiet location.. but close to amenities(5 min drive)
Laura was welcoming, the house was clean and comfortable and had charm and lots of unique vintage features.
A nice bnb experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Although we were only there one evening, we were happy to find the
place so clean and comfortable, and met all of our needs.
- Bob (4/5): - Bathroom was shared with 2 other potentially double occupancies. Only a hook lock on bedroom and bath. Shower was tiny and the door frame was moldy, There was no staff - just a trail of notes. No radio, TV or other usual distractions. AC was a noisy window unit in the stairwell and a few fans. I'd be better prepared if I was camping.
- Mark (10/5): - This 1895-built home met my expectations for a B&B. It was simple, unique and clean. Though I had to share a bathroom with another couple (I was a single), there was no conflict as they left very early. The owner was kind enough to let me lock up my bike in a shed while I went downtown Kingston for dinner. Communication was good and I let her know about when I would be arriving.
- Lisa (6/5): Won't bother with this place again. - We had a late check in so we didn't expect to see anyone that night but we got up, showered, made ourselves breakfast, loaded the truck back up and left without seeing any other humans. The only other living creature we saw were the two bunnies eating their breakfast on the front lawn.
The bathroom was nice and large (shared with all the rooms) but the shower was the tiniest I have ever had the displeasure of attempting to use. I don't consider myself an overly large person but I had issues trying to even shave my legs. We were supplied with one towel each and a washcloth. Well, I have long hair so I need at least a second towel to get the whole drying off thing done.
Air conditioning is in the upstairs hallway only, not in the rooms. So if the ceiling fans aren't enough to cool you off, you have to leave your bedroom door open.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful gem. - Had a lovely time at this country hide away. Thanks, Laura!
- Terry (8/5): - Peaceful and restful, Laura is accommodating and sociable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Well maintained period B&B.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Charming, homey, real. - Late check-in was enforced (I was do tired), but room was cozy and just the ticket for rest I needed. B&B provided early breakfast on my own that gave me a quick start. Would definitely stay again.
- Jeremiah (10/5): One-night stay while travelling to Kingston - Overall our stay was really good! Laura was there to greet us at check-in, the room and bed was very comfortable and quiet, and the breakfast, while simple, was fresh and tasty.
- Beverley (8/5): - The only problem we had were a lot of annoying flies in the room
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great value - I needed someplace affordable to stay. Laura's Bed & Breakfast was conveniently located very near major roads to get where I needed to go, but far enough away to feel very secluded.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Charming decor, easy access, home style welcome, huge comfortable bed. I enjoyed the homemade jam and toast I had for breakfast in Laura’s country kitchen. Thank you!
- marc (8/5): - Nice farm house setting. Clean and quiet. Owner was was very nice and welcoming. I would stay here again.
- Ralph (8/5): Quiet scenic Area. - Personal service & historic surroundings
- Michael (10/5): Cute little BnB - Located at the edge of the city ... A 10 minute drive to downtown. Wonderfully quiet and great host. Awesome location for anything in Kingston if you have a car. I’d definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): not a comfortable stay - This being the 1st time trying a bed and breakfast I made the mistake after a long day of work to use the kitchen table to eat my dinner. Next morning I was questioned about my actions and advised of the rules outlined. The bed I slept on for 2 days was situated on a slope was not comfortable. Laura felt it necessary to tell another guest about the situation and that i was upset which i did not say. I actually apologized and felt terrible that I invaded her space. I was refunded for 1 night of my stay.. Lastly the Snow was not removed 1st thing in the morning so i could get to my car with ease but was removed after her conversation with the other guest. Disappointing
- Matthew (8/5): Bed and Breakfast away from downtown Kingston - Stayed at the B and B on a Friday night. It was my first time ever in a B&B. Received the key code via an email and let myself in at about 9 pm. Had a clean room with 2 single beds. In the morning, I went to the kitchen and made myself breakfast, had a shower and left. It was perfect for what I needed. I never saw anyone else, although there was another gentleman there.
- pam (10/5): - Close to Hwy 401 - a great place to break up a long drive.
- kelly (10/5): Nice hotel. Good breakfast - Nice bed. Good shower. Great breakfast . Pleasent surrounding.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Pleasantish. Quaint almost rustic old style home - Pleasantish. Quaint almost rustic old style home furnishing and trim.
Great for people that wanna feel there in the country but are really in a kingston burb
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very nice place all character - Very nice stay comfortable easy check inn, beautiful place with a touch of home feel, small and pleasing,
Big common room downstairs with big kitchen for great breakfast all include ,parking up front,Laura was there to greet me in morning and also text me the door code to get inn since I was arriving late.
- Martin (8/5): Great Bed and Breakfast. - Everything was great except for the shower. It appeared clean but old and rusty, not inviting, which was compounded by the cold temperature in the bathroom. Overall a very adequate place to stay, the host was great and the bed was as comfortable as any bed can get.
- Susie (8/5): Quirky B&B outside Kingston - Heritage-style home kept very tidy and clean, located quite out of the way, approx. 20 minute drive into Kingston. Owner was present very briefly upon arrival then we did not see her again and were required to follow notes around the home to find basic breakfast by ourselves etc. Shared bathroom so you need to be OK with that - not deluxe but clean and comfortable. Good value for cost of stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Quiet and cosy close to Kingston - Laura was there when we arrived. She greeted us and explained the house rules for our stay. She also had suggestions for where I could find gluten-free products in the area. Most helpful.
- Sharon (10/5): Perfect unique B&B...Laura was lovely..it was per. - It was a very perfect overnight stay...Laura was lovely...very clean and organized place...enjoyed all and look forward to a return visit...
- Christopher (10/5): Nice Cozy B&B - Good communication with staff. Cozy Victorian era home. Great continental breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Pleasant, clean, comfortable setting. Easily accessed from highway. Very reasonably priced option for travelers.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Cozy and clean B&B - Very cozy and clean B&B. I was pleasantly surprised. It was great for an overnight stay. A couple of recommendations: It was dark when I arrived, it would be great if there was a light by the parking area so that it wouldn't be pitch taking belongings out of the car. Also the shower needs an update in terms of the door & ceiling. Other than that everything was wonderful. Laura was so pleasant as a host just like her B&B. A gem close to all amenities in Kingston.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I stayed for one night and it was a very good experience. It was easy to find and to park. Laura was lovely. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was good and with many options. Overall an excellent b&b!
- Liliana (8/5): Happy - First time staying at B&B. Very good experience. The only thing I would recommend is to fix the room door lock so it's quieter when it closes.
Very good job Laura. Beautiful place, very well organized, great breakfast. Thank you for everything.
- Carl (8/5): Quiet "self-serve" type of B&B - The B & B is set up to be as automated as possible. It seemed obvious to me that the owner wants minimal interaction with her guests. There are notes everywhere posted in the house telling you what you can and can't do, where you can go and can't go.
The hotel is located in a remote and quiet area which was very pleasant. The rooms and the house itself is spotlessly clean. The shower was beyond miniscule in size, it was a real challenge to get things done!
Breakfast was self-serve and the options were cereal, toast or an apple. Overall I expected more from a B&B in terms of interaction with the owner/staff, and also with breakfast options.
I would stay there again for the quiet, peaceful location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good - Good place to stay. The house is old but confortable. I sleep good. You can stay for couple days
- From YYC (10/5): Quiet rural location west of Gardiners Rd Kingston - I was able to come and go at my convenience. No hassles.
Facility is housed in a well kept converted farm house.
No crowds.
- Brian (8/5): Quaint and stylish - This is a quaint and stylish place and Laura is a charming and helpful host. Rooms are clean, light and airy. The shared bathroom is clean, spacious and functional. Breakfast was basic ( tea/coffee, toast, jam, cereal, fresh fruit) but filling.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A beautiful Bed and Breakfast - An older home beautifully maintained and furnished. An excellent getaway from the madness of city life
- Verified traveler (10/5): Cozy little place - Amazing! There are little notes throughout the house to help if there isn't anyone around at a given time. Made the stay very easy. Also a very cozy place.
- Elizabeth (10/5): A rustic bed and breakfast - Laura's Bed and Breakfast was a comfortable stop on my way to Toronto. If you like old houses, which I do, and a quiet area- it's close to the highway but in a rustic setting- it's the perfect stop. Breakfast was continental style with delicious home made jam and marmalade.
- Claudius (4/5): Away from it all - Its different for sure. Reminds me of the group called "Five Man Electrical Band". They sang the 1971 song "Signs". Every where there are signs, do this, don't do that. This house is old. The place has three rooms only, shared bathroom, squeaky floors (every board and door squeaks). We were in the king room. One power outlet only. Our floor sloped bad enough that you were sliding if you were walking around in socks. You for sure need to watch your steps in the king room. The shower could use some major over hauling. If you are a large person.....good luck....its maybe a 34" shower stall. No tub. Adequate in every other aspect. Beds don't seem to get made. We were there for three nights and received a total of two sets of towels. Breakfast...hmm. Not what we are used to in the hotels. Making a cup of coffee is a pain. No eggs, no waffles, no juice that we saw in the one level of the fridge that guests are allowed to use. You get cereal. The rest of the fridge is taboo. Remember the signs...lol. Small bar fridge out in the living room. Nice home made Jams. I'm thinking the bread was light rye home made. No other choices that we saw. There's a tub in the sink for your dishes, it has water and soap in it. You get the impression she wants you to do your own dishes also. We did. Three garbage containers labeled for what garbage goes where. Like i said, signs everywhere. We only used the kitchen the one morning. No TV or Radio in the place. You get WiFi.
Bring your own alarm clock.
- Arlene (8/5): - a great, quiet, out of the way property for a night away. Just hang out, no phones, no TV . . . just you and nature and a few books.
Remember that the bathroom facilities are shared.
- Jon (10/5): Comfortable, clean and inviting B and B - The B and B is a 15 minute drive from downtown Kingston just off the 401. The host was very organized and the room was comfortable and clean. The King room was spacious and the common areas are inviting. Just a note that the rooms do share a bathroom but for the price, it was well worth it. I'll be staying again when I visit and I would recommend the B and B to others! Happy Travels!
- Kate (10/5): Lovely place! - Very cozy house with nice living room areas. The room was clean and the area was very quiet. The host was most sweet and welcoming. We couldn't have picked a better place for our stay and I'd recommend it to everyone!
